I sold my macbook air on ebay and needed to ship it. Thankfully I kept not just the original box, but the shipping box that the apple box came in, and all of the packaging to protected it. However, I unknowingly made the mistake of not taping it up before giving it to my girlfriend to drop it off there for me (I was really busy that day). So because they could see into the box and realize it was a laptop, they forced her to buy a laptop shipping box and apparently put the box containing the laptop box in another box they charged her $20 for. First, I read LOTS of reviews for many places when I needed to ship a used motorcycle tank. The bad reviews made this place seem horrid, but I gave them a shot. Called ahead to see if they could ship something that size. "No problem." Asked about the hours - I had plenty of time to drop the tank off before hitting the bike show at the Javits. Got there... saw the bike picture on the top shelf (which was cool) then spoke with Nick (the Asst Mgr). Immediately recognized his voice from the phone conversation. Not only was I also asked if I needed any help after Nick quickly measured the tank and went in back to search for the perfect box, but after getting the shipping quote ($76 - UPS stores in my experience, have always been high on mid-large sized shipments), he offered to give me the box for free and then even offered to try and re-package it in a smaller box (after remeasuring it 4x) to try and help me out. I knew it wasn't possible based on the dimensions of the tank and just gave him the go-ahead. I mentioned the ratings and said to him I almost didn't stop by. He cracked a smile and started laughing and said lots of people try to extort money out of them and when they refuse to pay, leave them really poor reviews. I realize experiences vary, but there's no effing way that the "1-stars" are all valid reviews. I call BULL CHIPS!! Anyway, it's the best one around regardless. So... I just walked in to ship two gifts (unwrapped, no box) for my sisters and it literally took less than 5 minutes. VJ was working the counter and was so friendly, professional, and l was super surprised how easy everything was. There was also a customer behind me who was asking for a notary and he was taken care of right away. He literally walked in, asked for a notary, had some stuffed signed, and walked out. I've been to this location twice, once back in June, and both times I've been very impressed with their friendliness and efficiency. And it's right off the Bedford stop! Super convenient. read more

He's been completely open and willing to help me with my shipments - even when once shipment was 24 boxes, weighing over 1,100lb !!! These Dudes are down right rude, unhelpful and obviously hate their jobs. I have used this store lots in the past for work related reasons as my employer had an account. Today was a personal chore of trying to scan documents which I needed emailed to me for a government application. On arriving I asked could you scan to email. I was told yes and directed by finger point to a very confusing machine. After selecting scan to email and entering all my details it became apparent this machine was not linked up to the net. I asked how it works and the of the guys told me I was only meant to make a copy which he would then send from another machine. Kinda silly this day and age to print a hard colour copy from one machine to then send from another! I stood for almost 10 minute trying to figure out how to work it out. Never once did any customer service kick in from the staff who stood and watched me. The whole thing should of taken a couple of minutes. I ended up paying for my now purchased colour copies and left as I was annoyed. These Guys make a mockery of people who work in Customer Service. The guy with the glasses and long hair is so lackluster I'm unsure why anyone would chose him as a representative for there store. Stay at home with your video games mate! read more

Had to drop off a package to be returned to Amazon here and thought I would have to pay shipping or service fee and that was not the case at all...was in and out within 3 minutes. No line, great service. UPS may not always deliver packages in one piece or on time but I guess if you go to them they will make up for it... read more

First time going in I needed to finish taping my package for a bit of reinforcement. They would not let me use their tape and insisted on doing it them selves. Packages shows up to sender split out the sides with the product falling out. Second time going in I needed to send a return to merchant. Again, insists on taping it for me. This time I just needed the return slip taped to the outside. Apparently he didn't tape it, because the package was delivered back at my place two days later. I am, by nature, a very impatient person with a quick trigger. I like good customer service and competent people. I have been coming to this UPS for the past couple of years and I have never had a bad experience. I am typically unorganized when going to the UPS store, as I usually wait until I have multiple things to ship before actually make it over there. I don't recall ever having to pay extra for anything and the employees have always been very nice and helpful. The store was empty when I went, staffed by a slacker who might live in his mom's basement. I needed to print my return label, because he claimed he couldn't scan the code. I've done that at this store in the past, but whatever. I couldn't email it to the store because the internet was not working. Ok, could I send it to his personal email. No-- he doesn't like giving that out, he said. He sent me to the mail center called 11211 on Bedford. It cost me two bucks, but they were so nice and helpful, that guess what? Avoid at all costs. Overnighted an envelope, paid extra for morning delivery. They did not ship it out as promised - it just sat there for an additional 24 hours. The service is slow and horrendous, I stood in a line literally out the door. A carrier pigeon will get your packages delivered with more speed and accuracy than these jokers. Do yourself a favor and use a different shipping place - this one is absolutely no good. read more

Went in to return a package. Asked "hey can I print a shipping label" and the employee says "sure, use that computer right there." Was pretty psyched that it would be so easy. Then he begins to affix the label and says "how many pages? Two?" I answer "yeah" and he goes "That'll be 3.58." I respond "hmm ok, I wish I had known that ahead of time." To which he says "it warns you." Nope no warning, not when you click print, and not when you ask the attendant. Sigh. read more

The most consistent UPS store I've encountered (and I live in New York and end up shipping things weekly for work). They're open when they say, they help me with complex shipping jobs, and there are a bunch of really helpful services here. It's basically a better FedEx (which Williamsburg doesn't have anyway). There's a workstation where you can print in BW or color which is super helpful when you want to print and return something from Amazon. Big win: they're open Memorial Day weekend. Hence my writing this! And they're always friendly and put up with my endless drop offs of returns from online shopping :) read more

The staff here is so nice and helpful it makes me look forward to having to do errands. I went here to get some documents notarized, it was fast inexpensive and the guy was extremely nice. This UPS store has lots of bad reviews from years past but there is a new owner here and I think the service is just fine. I see some complaints about them not shipping large items but I recently shipped 60lbs of 6' banners and they built a custom box to package them. I have no comparison for price because I ship on a business account. This store does not allow the use of UPS account numbers for billing. read more

Back in the day they only employed asshats at this location. But I have raised my stars from my visit today 9/1/17. Sam helped me send out an important package. I did get double charged for the box and the wrapping cost was a bit extreme, but at least there were nice people working there.... and I did not have to venture to the abyss (aka Williamsburg usps). 9/16 was back in. Sam took care of my shipment. 2 day shipping was expensive but it was fast and service friendly. Raised to 4 stars! read more

I had to write a review to praise the great customer service I received from this particular UPS store, and specifically from its manager, Vishal. I had an issue with a large item that was damaged en route to its recipient and Vishal was incredibly helpful, helping me to get a claim filed and getting me the money needed for repairs. Yep, 2.5 stars on google maps was right. No the staff is not better. 1. it stinks. like hair, and stuffy bodily things...open the door. 2. attitude of the guy helping me sucked. 3. when he left out one of the 4 address lines of the shipping address my package was going to, and I asked him nicely to include it, he shook his head to himself as if it was a total hassle. wtf? I'm sending $3,500 worth of electronics equipment, um, I need this to get there. 4. he picked his ear for several moments, then studied it, while he made me wait. just gross. hire staff with a clue. 5. the other staff guy had this tiny high pitched portable radio gadget on so loud as he stood near me stocking product, I couldn't hear what my UPS guy was saying to me. after the 3rd time I couldn't hear him, I plainly said: the radio is louder than your voice. both guys heard me say that, but didn't do anything to correct it. wft? 6. said 2nd staff guy then makes a phone call, is on hold evidently, the hold has outgoing music, and he has the phone volume all the way up. he's walking around the tiny store with it that loud, and now helping another customer, both trying to talk over this music. So now you're hearing two, mental-making opposing songs, totally loud, and trying to have conversations with mr. soft voice, while you go nuts. I have to call UPS after I leave the store for a shipping thing, mention this store has issues, only for the call center to say I have to call another place since it's not a part of their system or something.
