Very very horrible customer service. The lady who was working the front counter today at 2:30 pm was so rude to me that she literally threw her pen down and turned away from me mumbling under her breath about me after I inquired about getting a tracking number for a letter and then decided against it when I learned it was $20. Avoid at all costs, they will jerk you for anything possible. I came in today (7/7) to return a package back to Amazon just like everyone else does. I had the label on my MacBook but was under the impression that I could just forward the label and have them print it out for a reasonable fee. Instead, he laughed and told me it would be $5.95 "access charge" to access my email and retrieve the label and then a $1 charge per page to print. So nearly $7 to a print? I ended up walking next door to FedEx Office and paid $0.13 for a label and they happily helped me out. The guy at the counter said that "ya, we'll we're family owned and I said ha! So you think it's fair to charge $7 to print a one page document?". He said nothing and handed me my receipt. read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!! Went there at 6pm today and found an old indian lady behind the counter. Indians are not generally rude but this lady was really rude. Not sure if she was having a bad day but looking at other yelp reviews, I guess she didn't. UPS should consider taking the franchise back from the owner as they are bringing really bad name to UPS. Moreover, she is bringing bad name to Indians as well. Coming back to my experience. She said Hi to the delivery guy behind me loud and clear but she didn't greet me at all. Although I don't expect it but as a courtesy she should have. Next, when I asked her for UPS envelope(in which you put the return label from amazon and stick it to main box), she refused and said it will charge me some money for it. I guess she said $2 or sth. She then offered me that she can tape it for 1 buck. What a cheap way to do business !! I just returned back and went to UPS at Keily/homestead. The guy greeted me with a smile. So a lesson to all of you about to ship UPS: DO NOT pay for your shipping at these locations. Go online to www.ups.com and print your own labels and then drop it off at the UPS Store. The UPS Stores all charge a ridiculous premium to print shipping labels. In this store's case, a $40 shipping cost to the east coast cost a whopping $70. I dropped off a few packages at this store and when the barcode reader started having issues reading through the clear plastic tape, the lady behind the counter was pretty angry. "I TOLD you to not cover the labels with tape!" She had some difficulty understanding that this was my first time to the store. Maybe I caught her on a bad day but just follow my advice about the labels and you won't be sorry. I would have given 3 stars for it being a good place to drop off packages but I'm not fond of being verbally abused (for no reason). read more

I brought in a package to this location with a pre-paid shipping label to drop-off for shipment. The male worker pointed to the scale for me to leave the package on and said thanks. I then asked for a receipt so I could get confirmation that The UPS Store had received the package. He then began to tell me that I don't need a receipt since, according to him, the pre-paid shipping label is the receipt. I then asked again for a receipt and started to explain that I wanted confirmation that it was received by the drop-off location. This is when a 10-minute back and forth between this worker and I started, with him condescendingly trying to tell me how UPS works. (I told him that I know how UPS works and that's why I want a receipt.) A female worker (I'm guessing his wife?) eventually stepped in, scanned the package and printed out a receipt for me. It took her less than 30 seconds to do so. Now, was that really so difficult to do? Or is it such a bother for a customer to come in with a package to drop off and ask for a receipt? Sorry if I inconvenienced you, but if you don't want people to drop packages for UPS pick-up then maybe you shouldn't be running a UPS Store. There was no valid reason for this guy to be so reluctant to give me a receipt, not to mention him not having any valid point to refuse to give me a receipt for the drop-off. Other UPS Stores will ask me if I'd like a receipt without me even saying anything. Good customer service really isn't all that difficult. I'd give 0 stars for customer service if I could. I walk in with an box to return to Amazon.com. (I didn't go to a specific drop-off location because I know that this box won't fit in the drop-off opening.) After waiting a minute, a young lady comes out to the front. I say, "Hi, I just need to drop this off. It's already pre-paid." Young lady says, "Okay." I pause, a bit confused about something. I ask, "Don't I get a receipt or something? Last time I did this (in San Jose), the man gave me a print out or receipt." She stares me down. "(mumble mumble) email?" I ask, "I'm sorry?" She says, "Did you get this from your EMAIL." No question there, people. And then I notice that she's half-heartedly pointing to the mailing label on my box. I reply, "Um.. no. I got it from Amazon." She gives me the look of death and proceeds to go on the computer, clickin' her mouse around. I try to help in further explaining what I had said earlier. I say, "I think it was a delivery confirmation or something." She GLARES at me and says, "It's not a DELIVERY CONFIRMATION. It's a DROP-OFF." Might as well shoot me down and call a dumbass. Jesus. I say "I'm sorry... I didn't know..." At this point, I'm so shocked at her rudeness. She prints out the "drop off" (hah which mind you has a tracking number on it), and hands it to me without a word. I'm standing there befuddled by her anger towards me when I honestly don't think I've done a damn thing to deserve it. So dear UPS, whoever the girl was that was working the 11AM shift on October 22nd, 2010 at the Cupertino UPS STORE needs to be given a class on customer service for so many reasons. I concur with the other reviewers; this place is run by crooks. Their scale is not "zeroed" and they know it. I once brought in two pre-paid packages that I had meticulously weighed. I had already printed the UPS labels online beforehand. This was my first time going to the UPS store; I usually just opt for "carrier pick-up," though figured I'd save a few dollars and drop it off myself (there is a fee for carrier pick-up). Despite the fact that my packages were already paid for, they weighed both of my packages nonetheless. Both registered as exactly 8 pounds heavier on their scale than they did on my scale. They told me that they would have to bill my UPS account for the difference. Thinking it was just a fluke (and foolishly giving them the benefit of the doubt), I went there again a few months later. THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. These people are absolutely sleazy. If you need to mail a package by UPS, use either carrier pick-up, or go to a different store. read more

Came here to have some copies printed and an important document notarized. It was rather slow for a Saturday afternoon, so I was helped quickly. I had the documents on a flash drive, but they were still able to print me out the copies I needed. Most awesome! :) The notary was quick and painless. Customer service was great. No problems whatsoever. Paid and we were outta there in less than 10 minutes. Highly recommend them for all your copy/notary needs. read more

Very poor service from the elderly Indian woman working the counter. She gave me a hard time for needing a few strips of packing tape to secure the package. Even after I told her that I just moved house and couldn't find my packing supplies because they were still packed. I thought maybe she was joking but then she insulted me by sating "you Amazon people always want everything for free" and "next time you need to buy the tape". Really? You can't help out with a few feet of packing tape? How about this: next time I go to JDM Packing Supplies in Sunnyvale where the people are always friendly and helpful? read more

$12 for an off-brand roll of tape, $8 for one layer of cheap bubblewrap, and a couple of helpful ladies behind the desk. Those two people have generally been helpful honestly (hence the second star) but the price gouging as per the management is absolutely ridiculous. Inexcusable. It should be a convenient, helpful, reasonably priced place to pack and ship your items. It's what UPS is supposed to stand for and this location just doesn't. IF you absolutely have to go here, make sure everything is already packed and ready to ship 100% because otherwiseーdepending on the itemーyou may find your cost easily doubled. Or more. Good attitude if you ship from this store. Bad attitude when you just drop off the package to ship. On 5/1/08, I just drop off the package, and the lady said she can't scan the label. So I asked her what to do, but no respond. And she said the UPS driver will be very upset if he/she can't scan the label. So, I told her to enter the tracking number by hand, and she gave a a attitude said "you didn't give me the business, and bring me into trouble." So, next time when you drop off the package there, make sure you buy something or make sure the label they can scan. read more

One of my family members had to get a form notarized and was across the street from this place. I made the mistake of telling them to come here. I thought, hey just a notary- a 10 minute job and you are done; again big mistake. The family member waited 45 minutes while others (I suspect higher revenue generating customers) were given priority. Finally another customer said, hey this person was ahead of me and waiting for a while. My family member was finally able to get the document notarized. UPS Cupertino you are horrible. I strongly agree with those who have recommended to go to the FedEx around the corner in the same mall, next to Starbucks. read more

I didn't have any problems here on a Friday morning around 10am. There is plenty of parking in the shopping mall and the UPS store is easy to find/see. Walking in it's a typical store, it felt organized and clean - nothing to complain about. I had my boy's snowboard he wanted me to ship for him, so awkwardly with a huge long box I put it on the counter. The young girl wasn't particularly friendly but not rude. Just gave me the paperwork to fill out and told her to call her when I was done. I filled out my paperwork, she was obviously on a personal call for a second but I didn't really care - she was ready when I was. She got everything set, just took a moment, told me how much and how much insurance would be - pricey at $3 for every $100. Within minutes I was set and ready to go, she made sure the email was correct so we could track the package and I was all done. Altogether it was a swift, easy transaction with a young girl who didn't seem to be passionate about her cashier job but was nice enough. Cost $29.05 to ship a snowboard to LA w/o insurance. Have you ever walked into a place and had someone talk about you while not directly talking about you? Thats what happened at this horrible store. As I walked in with my box that I was returning to UPS with a prepackaged label I sat in a line which waited for the person at the register to deal with the UPS driver. This was normal I have no issue with waiting and held on to the box which was busted up. At that very moment the register lady started remarking on how people in Cupertino were entitled to bring busted boxes and not have everything ready to go when they go to the store. Obviously she was talking to me but indirectly referring to "everyone". As I stepped up I was short with my responses, she tried to crack a joke but I wasn't having any of it. This was the worst disrespect I've ever seen at a PACKAGING STORE WHICH SHOULD HELP YOU PACKAGE AND SEND YOUR GOODS. Most if not all other UPS stores are extremely helpful and will guide you to getting the goods you need to send everything off, and yes I know that these are services you have to pay for. Degrading a customer like this was atrocious and would recommend customers actively AVOID this place, and that UPS seriously look at who it is partnering with. read more

I should note that all of these UPS stores are franchises and are privately owned and operated. I came here to fax a few documents, a total of 10 pages. I didn't bother to ask but should have asked how much because I was shocked being charged $20 for it. It doesn't even cost them money to fax, granted I intended on paying for using their services, I was not expecting $2 per page to fax. This place is straight rip off. The owner didn't even give me a receipt, which I'm sure he's just pocketing the cash to avoid taxes. Avoid going to this place. Did notary here.. without asking whether I have a copy or I needed a color copy, he just went on to make copies and end of all, I had to pay for those copies. I have seen customers complaining of lost package there when dropping off while I was in line. So when drop off.. make sure to scan and get a receipt. Notary is $10 per page and its a rip off and they dont tell before hand, oh my mistake I didnt ask. They make money on copying the pages as well, as they say they need in a specific format(and they say its the law). Dont have an option to give negative. read more

Excellent customer service. I got to the store to send an overnight letter just after the last delivery had left. ( my fault for not planning better) Suddenly they went into an "all hands on deck" mode, with one person entering my order, on to call the driver to intercept them, and the younger employee to run my letter across the street (yikes, Steven's Creek) to make sure it got on the truck. I checked this morning and it is, indeed, at the destination (2500 miles away) Also, love that they have a notary service. read more

UPS stores are franchise owned so your your mileage may vary based on the store owner but this one is terrible and unprofessional. They are rude/they don't care and treat like you dirt. I really dislike store owners that behave like this. One issue is that they don't like pre-paid labels because they don't make much money off those compared to other store services OR if you purchase shipping from the store (which is 2-5x the normal UPS price). Again, it's a franchise so they set the prices and they jack them up for shipping. In some sense, the Fedex in the same plaza is much better because their stores are not franchises so the service and prices are uniform from store to store. Also I can always get an immediate scan and receipt from Fedex unlike here. read more

Ok.... I've been going to this UPS location for a few months now. I can see why there are mixed reviews. If you want to friendly service.. go somewhere else. Shipping is reliable unless you have something heavy and fragile items then I recommend you go somewhere else. The young ladies who work are moody all of the time. And sometimes they will literally drop your box to the ground in front of you after they weight it. That is very disrespectful to the customers. Most customers spent a lot of time taping the package and expect it gets to the destination safely. Please don't treat our package like crap. If you hate your job, go find some other job. If you still work here, greet to the customer with a smile when they walk in, be helpful and respectful. read more
