Everyone was super friendly and professional. I had an Amazon return and a UPS shipment that required a signature. So handy that UPS uses this as their pickup facility. Victor was extremely helpful in helping me audit the UPS shipment. I wanted a witness since the sender sent very confusing notices and they looked like they did not include all of my items. I've been meaning to write this for a couple of months. Having just moved into the area, I was seeking a new PO Box service. I liked the store location and, the owner, Mike was really nice and helpful. I filled out all the paperwork at home and emailed it to him. I was really in a hurry to get a local address. But the next day my priorities changed. My dad broke his hip so I had to fly up north and take care of him for several weeks in rehab. A while later I got a peeved email from Mike, not checking in, wondering what happened, or just reminding me, but actually scolding me for not following through. I was sorry to go elsewhere, because maybe he was just having a bad day... but I was stressed enough without getting that email. Anyway, I found another company for my business. read more

Save yourself the hassle. Pick any other store. Horribly Rude, Horrible Slow, Horrible smelling. They have a dog running around which they spend more time attending to then the customers. Three of us were in there and two employees ignored us so they could mess with the dog. I asked for signature and she said I didn't need it. Again I said I do need it. She scanned my card without SIGNATURE confirmation. She said I didn't need it that it was already included. NO IT WASN'T. The owner of the store, Mike, is a rude, arrogant person. He treated us like we were doing him a favor to use his store. When we asked him a question about a shipping charge he told us to take our business elsewhere if we didn't like it . . . which really wasn't the issue, we were just politely asking about the charge itemizations but he didn't like being questioned. Please do not patronize this store as it is obvious that, the owner doesn't care about customers nor about the customer experience. Its also sad to see that he's trained his staff to adopt the same attitude. We now use FedEx or the Monarch Bay UPS store located at 15 Monarch Bay Plz Dana Point, CA 92629 even though it is a little bit further drive for us down PCH. We'd rather do that than patronize the pompous-natured folks at the PCH Dana Point store. Don't go here. The proprietor acts like the customer is an inconvenience. He is VERY RUDE and doesn't listen to what you want. He made us wait while he took a personal call on his Bluetooth (lame) headset. We spent over $1000 shipping packages through this store when we moved and he charged us extra to RE tape our boxes. Oh, and one of the boxes arrived with the contents destroyed. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! 0 stars if we could!!! read more

I have used the services at this UPS store several times and I have been very happy with the service every time. Mike (the owner) has actually gone out of his way to help me with a situation I had just the other day. I have read the reviews and saw the bad ones.. not sure what those issues are about but sometimes they are a little busy and you just need to wait your turn.. Don't see the big issue. This store provides a clean business, they are friendly and will go out of there way to help you in anyway they can. P.S. Be wary they charge a ridiculous one dollar "fee" to tape up your package! I arrived to drop off a package on my way to work. I did not have tape on me but did not think it would be an issue--because in the past it hasn't! I gave the employee my package and he promptly taped it up. Afterwards he asked for a dollar. Dollar? At first I thought he was joking. NOPE. They didn't even tell me until after the fact! Never attending this shop again. You lost a customer! read more

I have been using The UPS Store in Dana Point for dropping off my UPS packages for a year now. In the 1990s I was trained to properly pack shipments by both UPS and Federal Express that exceeds their minimum requirements. When I drop off my packages, they are always labeled, packed and taped so all I have to do is place it on their counter. One of their employees always acknowledges my drop off and thanks me. Packing tape is not cheap and you cannot expect this business to assume this cost. The cost of the box, the tape and the packing material is not free. The box and packing material in itself should be about $10. Consumers should buy insurance if they believe the items in the package will be damaged. Most customers don't buy this insurance and they start to grumble when the package arrived damaged or the package didn't arrive at all. This store is a franchisee of UPS. They accept your packages on behalf of UPS. So when UPS damages your package or your package is lost, your claim is through UPS. This store can help you initiate a claim but you must do the leg work to resolve your claims. This is why I strongly recommend you buy insurance AND you get SIGNATURE REQUIRED on important packages. It will cost you money but it is reassurance your package will get there. Why I rated this a 3-star. Parking is kind of tight and you must be careful when exiting this business. They share a common alley way with the post office and other businesses so if you are not careful, you might get into a fender bender! Occasionally I do get a gruff reponse from a few of their employees but I understand they are busy. But you do not take it to the next customer. read more

I'd be wary of anyone not showing their info in their reviews or coming up with such nonsense as "the smell' of this store.. I had impeccable service from Mike and the sales staff from day one. I currently use their PO Box services to receive business mail and couldn't be happier. They seemed helpful and useful in obtaining information about the shipments I made and have a 5:30pm UPS pick up time..(which is about as late as you can get without going to the Aliso Viejo hub.) 24 hr copies are available to you as well in case you get stuck in a jam late night.. I really laugh at the negative reviews I'm seeing posted here.. Direct your frustration at the parent company if your package doesn't make it there, not the one putting your label on the box!?! Not only did Mike spend his day off fulfilling a last minute business card fulfillment request, but also decided he wanted to provide even better and on his dime had an entire lot reproduced on thicker card stock without request. His team and himself make this UPS store feel like working with a small boutique printing service and are always easy to work with for shipping anything else. I've been here a handful of times to ship things for myself and for work. They have pretty solid customer service, but the "nickel and diming" is what is leading to my one star. My last visit I was charged $1 to tape my box closed. What the hell $1?! It's only $1..but common, that little bit of tape they used probably costs less than 10cents. read more

I have been using this store since the beginning. After reading the reviews I had to post as I believe that there is a error to several of the negative posts. This Dana Point location has always bent over backwards to help people. They have been friendly and very professional. However, here is where I believe the problems is and why the negative posts. There is another location, not owned by Mike, just up PCH. A very short distance from this location. That one is actually in Monarch Beach, and everything I have read here about charging for things without first telling customers and being Very Rude is exactly my experience with the Monarch Beach location. I will never go in that store again. The Dana Point location is also very clean and definitely does not smell, as I have asthma and if there was an issue like that I would not be able to go in there. I am sorry other reviewers here have had problems but I do not believe that it is for the Dana Point UPS Store. read more

Jordan was amazing if it weren't for him there would be zero stars. I am extremely unhappy with this store and ups. My delivery never got to the destination, the package was ruined and ups did not honor the $100 insurance. The recipient never got a notice on her door or a phone call. I requested a refund of my $70 postage fee to overnight the package and they basically ignored my request. Very ppor customer service. read more
