Shaddy. Never had to pay anything to return anything to Amazon before in my life. Usually they'd just scan the code on the my phone and print out a shipping form and tape it on to the package. I came to drop off a package at 4:29pm on a Saturday, and it was closed. They are supposed to close at 5pm on Saturdays. I waited for 10 minutes and saw another customer who wanted to drop off some packages too, nobody ever came. If you're going to close earlier than the posted time, make sure you change that on your sign, just wasting people's time driving all the way here for nothing. read more

Warning: Be prepared to be scammed! Do yourself a favor and go to the Post Office instead. I went online to get an estimate of what I would pay to have a package delivered to Seattle, WA. Based on the dimension, weight, and destination I got $19.10 for ground. No extra services. The East Indian girl working the counter measures and weighs the package and tells me $142.00. I exclaim, "No way, how can it be so expensive!" I told her I checked online and it was only 19.10. She tells me because it's so big and online they don't include all the extra fees like fuel. She then tells me it's $41.48. I said, "what? First you said it was $142?" She said that's for 2nd day service. I give her a benefit of the doubt even though I told her I want to ship it ground. It was still more than double what it should of been so I ask again how it was possible for it to be so much more? She really didn't tell me anything concrete other than that online it doesn't show all the extra costs. I went home and online again and came up with a printout of the estimate and took it to the store. $19.10. When she saw it she said that it doesn't include fuel but I used a yellow hi-lighter and showed it did. Next she tried to say that there are extras like 10 dollars for she doesn't remember what and another fee of 15.00 for something else. She said that you don't see those fees until you go to pay with your credit card. I asked to see the info she entered on my package and I could clearly see that she INCREASED ALL THE DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT. When I confronted her about this she said she is suppose to increase it to the next size but said it didn't make a difference anyway. BULLSHIT! The package was 20X51X6.5 and 20lbs She put package 28X53X8 and 25lbs I took a measuring tape with me and showed her the true measurements and a scale to show her the true weight. She just kept on with all her bogus explanations of that she is suppose to round up to the next size and the weight doesn't make any difference and that online the charges aren't correct and she gets people tell her that all the time. She was so obviously talking herself into any explanation she could think of, no matter how stupid or easy it was to check out her lies. Do yourself a favor and take your package to the Post Office. It will be cheaper and at least the clerks there aren't going to try to scam you. Postal fees for the package was $19.30. read more

I cancelled my Directv account and they told me to drop off my equipment at a UPS store and they would box it and ship it for me for free. Well I did that. The girl working there told me everything would be shipped. NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER leave that place without a tracking #. Directv contacted me to tell me I owed $1200 for equipment not returned. I was really skeptical about ups stores over kinkos or the us post office. but they have a computer for easy, quick printing. printing prices are comparable to kinkos. but i love the mail choices. I am probably an outlier in this respect but the us post office lost 2 unrelated packages i sent in the past year. so i gladly pay the extra cost for reliability and speed with ups. the staff are awesome and make every effort to recognize returning customers. the management is excellent and very customer focused (unlike the previous management, these guys are hip,fast and friendly ) I recommend trying this place out for your business or personal needs as they offer notary, business printing material, 24 hour access to their mail boxes and lovely smile read more

I was yet another one scammed at this UPS store. Now, the degree of being scammed may have not been the same level of previous customers, but I was still scammed. I came in on a Thursday morning before going to work. I arrive here around 10am to find the door locked. The sign on the window says their store is open from 8am to 7pm during the weekdays. After waiting for about 4 minutes, finally an associate comes to the door. The female associate explains "Oh, I didn't know the door was locked." I guess apparently no one had showed up there all morning. I inform her that I was dropping off box for shipment. I provided my own box, filler paper, and it just needed to be taped. I had printed my own shipping label because shipment was provided by the company. The female worker explains "there's a $2 drop off fee." I ask her why is there a fee for dropping off a box, which already has its own shipping label. The lady explains since a lot of companies provide free shipping, there's generally not much turn around for them. From that being said, they are charging people for what is suppose to be free shipping.I explain to her that the Union city location does not charge for dropping off boxes to ship out and she explained that every UPS store had different rules and policies. THIS MEANS THEY ARE TRYING TO GET OVER ON YOU. Since I had to go to work and there are no other UPS stores in the area, I pay the measly $2 dollars because the box had to go that day. They do not provide a receipt with a tracking number. I will not come back to this UPS store again. They are generally using the fact they are further away from other locations to momentum customers to unnecessary fees. Especially, since companies are using them as their primary form shipping, this place is taking advantage of that service. read more

As the Yelp stars say "Eek! Methinks not." This location has a reason for so many ONE (1) star's as I'm giving as well and would give lower if I could. They can't figure basic math at a kindergarten to first grade level without a computer. They must have to find LIFT on a keyboard to carry your package. The lady said she knows what it's like to get bad reviews. We'll here keep getting them. This area has plenty more copy and shipping centers. I recommend using somebody else, US Mail or another UPS Store, this place has a bad business practice. This location is trying to advertise? Now I know why, it's not worth any savings. Do NOT go to this UPS store. These guys scammed me into paying $135.58 to ship an item. After I left the store scratching my head, calls were made to other UPS stores in the area and they made it very clear to me that I was ripped off by these guys. I walked back in, took my package and had it shipped for $56.65 at the UPS store in downtown Hayward. It appears that all of these positive reviews after the "change of ownership" are mostly by friends/family of the owners or unsuspecting people who haven't realized that they got ripped off. I too, thought that they were great and very helpful until this surfaced. If there is some way to get this business audited, it would be great. UPDATE: In response to Abninder below. I had made it absolutely clear that I wanted the cheapest available option to ship the item and I had denied the outrageous insurance I was quoted. The package was shipped at the other location using the same exact method and I was given the same exact ETA for the package as I did in your store. read more

I was shipping out something through USPS that Mickail let me know previously could be dropped off at her UPS branch which actually saved me valuable time. Conversations with Mickail are very informative regarding UPS and all this particular branch have to offer which keep me coming back here. I was shocked to find out that she is not even a manager, she carries herself with a professionalism that belies her position and there aren't many businesses out there with an employee like her. I arrived in the Lake Tahoe region, having driven from Hayward for a bicycle outing with friends, when I realized I'd left at home a bag with both front wheels to my two bikes. I called my wife at home and asked her to go to the UPS store and ship these wheels to me overnight. Binny Mundra, an employee at store 4013, patiently and persistently worked to locate my Tahoe delivery address which did not show up on the UPS standard database. Because flying them was too expensive, Binny suggested that UPS Ground might work for a considerably lower cost, although he could not guarantee delivery the next day. We agreed to ground and thanked him for very good customer service. The next day the familiar brown UPS truck arrived at my cabin and pulled out a truck tire with my label attached! Apparently, somewhere along the way, my shipping label became detached from my bike tires and was re-attached to a truck tire. I declined the truck tire; the driver, after apologizing, said that if my bike tires turned up he would come back. My wife went back to the UPS store to complain and, again Binny was very helpful. He immediately initiated the tracking process, which enables UPS to check each distribution center along the route. That evening I received a call from Linda in the South Lake Tahoe distribution center. Linda spent extra time, using my delivery address, to identify a land line phone at the cabin since there was no cell reception. I was then able to drive to the distribution center that evening and pick up my wheels. UPS staff provided customer service above and beyond my expectations all along the way. Binny was particularly helpful at our local UPS store, the delivery driver was very responsive to my concern over the mix-up in my delivery, and Linda in the distribution center was extraordinary in her follow-up to finding my package and then contacting me. This experience turned out far better than I might have expected and I thank the staff at UPS for helping me overcome my own mistake of leaving my bike tires behind and allowing me to have several days of premium riding around the lake and in the mountains of Lake Tahoe read more

I have been here a few times now and I can honestly say I have no complaints. I really like that I am welcomed immediately when entering. They are very friendly and have a lot of knowledge, unlike other UPS locations ive been to. I always have my two children with me and they seem to always give me a helping hand without hesitation. I am so glad I don't have to go to FedEx all the way in Union City anymore for prints or the post office to send out mail or packages. Its the whole shabang for me. I had to wait 3 weeks to get a package returned because the ditsy worker under estimated the price of my package! We called the owner to have them expedite the package and he was just careless as her! Neither of them owned the problem and re sent my package to New York with regular mail and now my family would wait another week (since 3 weeks was not long enough).
