Buyer Beware! The UPS insurance has a great deal of undisclosed terms and conditions which means it's your fault when your package is damaged. My package was pierced with enough force to penetrate 4" into the package and bend the metal machine within. $1600 worth of insurance was not honored because of the packing job wasn't theirs. read more

I have shipped from this store several times. Every time there was quick service and the staff were friendly and professional. I had a document notarized and that went well too. The parking is terrible. It is a shared parking lot with a bank and there way too few spaces. read more

Bought some vitamins to mail to Hong Kong for my parents so I thought I'd go back to the UPS store by my house. When I arrived, there was one person at the counter and three people in the back chatting (Taking break at the same time maybe? Not sure and don't really care). The gentleman asked what am I sending and where am I sending it to so I told him. He then went in the back to ask his colleagues something and when he came back he said "it is actually surprisingly difficult to ship it internationally". So I said, "OK... I'll go to the post office then?". As I was walking out I can hear him say "well wait... Uh Nevermind". Wow, I guess you tried? Hmmm... I was actually just here 2 months ago and shipped something to Germany. Is this not UPS? Does UPS only ship domestically and make it harder to ship internationally? Am missing something here or people working in the service sector no longer gives a shi* about customer service? At least explain why it's difficult to ship. Geez! read more

The staff at the store always seem to be working efficiently and have been polite and helpful every time I have entered.

Latina lady was bitchy but the small asian lady was helpful.

These guys are so competent, helpful and cordial. We had a complicated process of sending a huge package to Slovenia, and they kept on it for the month it took to finally get the fees and taxes taken care of, paying them for us directly to the Slovenian postal service and then charging us back. It would have been a nightmare to manage on our own. Great service and great people to work with! read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I asked the young lady to print out some pictures and she told me it would take her a long time so I should bring a flash drive next time and do it myself. She rolled her eyes and acted gave me so much attitude. I have been here many times and have always had a good experience but because of this I will not be back to this location. read more

I agree with the others, this place is horrible. First, they do not even show up during the posted business hours. Then, I need something delivered on time. I drop it off early Thursday. They do not get it to UPS delivery until after 7 pm on Friday - so it does not get sent out till next Monday. The worst service! read more

I was treated very poorly by an older lady at the UPS store in Lafayette. The store was closing at 5 on the Saturday before Christmas and I arrived at 4:45 with four packages to mail. I entered with one package and asked if I could place it on the floor while I retrieved the others from my car. The lady said "as long as you don't have too many, we are about to close". I asked her if I should go somewhere else and she said that she could help me as long as I didn't have too many things because they were tired, it had been a long day. I said I felt like I was imposing and she looked at me like she could care less. Very seldom have I been treated so poorly, she was EXTREMELY RUDE. I ended up shipping my packages because I didn't have time to go anywhere else and a young lady helped me (who was much nicer). I was back in my car at 4:55, finished before the store closed. I will never do business with this store again. If you are looking for a UPS store in the Lafayette, CA area, I suggest the one in the Palos Verdes Mall near Lunardi's. read more

Please do not trust your packages with this UPS store location in Lafayette. The older lady that others are referring to is horrid. I believe she is the owner. Stay away. She is rude, arrogant but worst yet incompetent. I brought two personalized gifts in to be shipped before Christmas. I specifically told her they were personalized and filled out a separate form for each. She was annoyed that I filled out two forms, and rudely told me that she has been doing this for a living for many years and they never mix up shipments. Guess what? She mixed up my shipment. They were business gifts and each one went to the wrong party. It was humiliating and embarrassing. I can't understand how this woman can run a business with such poor customer service. I've used many other UPS store locations in the past and will go out of my way to never go to this one again. read more

YIKES...run away. Took an item in to have packed and shipped. The store improperly packed (according to the UPS inspector) the item and it was damaged beyond use. Luckily I purchased insurance...not so fast...The UPS Store (which is a franchise and not actually UPS owned) is the client of UPS and I am at the mercy of the UPS Store to get my money back from UPS. The owner and the "insurance person" at the store were completely uninterested in getting my refund for the damaged item + the amount I paid for packing and shipping, which was in excess of $550.00. Their incompetence was only trumped by their rude behavior. Needless to say, I went to 7 On Your Side and the UPS corporate over site to get these people to return the money for the damaged item and my shipping/packing costs. It took MANY calls, but I got most of my money back (they shorted me $127.00) I had to go back to the UPS corporate offices and continue to beg for the return of my ENTIRE outlay. In the end, I did get the additional $127.00. It took 2 months, MANY phone calls, letters, faxes, email contacts and a couple visits to the store. Lastly, I got a rude letter from the owner. I guess I wronged her store...I went in, filled out the forms, gave them my item, cautioned them about how fragile it was, PAID them on the spot, and had the NERVE to expect to get what I paid for. Boy-o-boy, I am a terrible customer. Oh, by the way...not once did ANYONE from the UPS Store in Lafayette say "I am sorry." Wow! read more

Not for shipping...I've used this store over the past few years and I always come away being charged more than comparable stores. If your box is even .125" over they find it necessary to up charge to the next inch - that includes a slight bow in the box. Other UPS stores and FedEx are not this officious in their assessments of packages. read more

After calling to check that this store does passport photos, I went in to have my photo taken and was met with complete laziness. The employees looked at each other and noted how the white background screen had fallen down. At this time, I expected them to put it back up and take my photo; however, instead of completing this medial, simple minded task that elementary school students could complete, they decided as a group of inept employees that picking up a 5 pound black bar and hanging it up was just slightly too extreme of a task for them to handle. The guys there are fantastic! As soon I put my foot in the store someone asked how can I be helped. I went there a week ago to request the counter to scan 10 pages and send to my eMail. Any shipping needs we have--whether pre-stamped USPS letter or international package--goes through this store, along with the purchase of needed packaging supplies. Had a problem with an Amzon return. Shipper did not pack return address label. VERY nice employee led me to in-store computer and walked me through the Amazon site and then printed my return label, wrapped the parcel, and no charge. Very grateful. read more

The people at The UPS Store are great. I've used this Store's for close to 10 years. They all go above and beyond to help you. I've seen so many one off requests for shipments to say a China, or the fastest way to get it to Chicago, or the cheapest way to send a book. Sean will patiently answer all these questions and makes sure the customer gets all the answers and is satisfied. I still remain impressed with their genuine way with the elderly. Their were change overs in personnel last year and every one needs some time to learn their jobs. I hired several staffers to help with projects in my home office and realized it would be a great fit because they must know so much to be able to do their job correctly. Size, weight, carriers, domestic and international shipments, tracking, box services, notary and much more. They will tape up your box, refit with popcorn. They offer small batch shredding which is great as I'm an attorney who needs to purge files every few years. I personally have met the owner and told him how great his people are. I'm always sad when a staffer moves on to a new job, they become friends. Negative reviews may be due to some being patience challenged, you never want more than 2-3 minutes for service and they use great eye contact to acknowledge you are next. The back lot parking with 2 entrance/exits off Mt. Diablo going east, and an easy right (next to a Wells Fargo) as you turn onto Moraga will make your stop fast and convenient, as I stop at businesses in Lafayette i make a point of using those establishments which provide excellent pro,ducts and services, and The UPS Store is in my to 10 best places to go while in Lafayette. Remember pricing is set by UPS and DHL, The UPS store is the "messenger" as a franchise. Delivery on time is up to UPS, and where there is an issue you can call or visit them and they will get you answers, much better than trying to ac tually use call services of these companies- that is something I never do Bravo to the Staff at The UPS Store. BY THE WAY, reviews that are negative about FEDEX are bogus, The UPS Store does not accept FEDEX as Kinkos down the street has that franchise. read more
