Today I had my 3rd not great experience at this UPS Store location. Without getting too into the details earlier in the month I brought an amazon return in. The woman behind the counter scanned my qr code and provided a receipt though she indicated the system was down. She didn't seem to suggest it would be problematic but on finding that my return is not showing up at amazon I went back to UPS again today to see what I can learn. I was told, yes there had been a system issue but that there is no way for them to help track my package. She suggested I should just "call amazon". No "im sorry", no concern at all. Had I known this was a possible issue I wouldn't have left my package for which I"m now potentially sacrificing the $ associated with the return. I also tried to drop off a bag of Nespresso pods for recycling and was told they wouldn't take wihtout a label (there are no labels for these). I've been dropping them there for a few years with no issue - I asked the manager and she said they just toss them. Unbelievable. I have always checked in with someone, i.e., I don't just place the bag on the counter and in all cases in the past the person working there has told me where to place them - This is astounding to me. read more

I am super impressed with the level of courtesy and how Shamim and Kim helped me. I had a return that wasn't registering correctly in the computer. Shamim and Kim went above and beyond to navigate the program to actually bypass the barcode and select the exact items I had in hand to return. If you know me by now, I am all about supporting the local businesses which means this UPS is one that I frequent. Parking is easy either in the front or back of the shop because it's in a shopping center. The store is narrow and crammed with stuff which looks a bit like a safety hazard to me. The employees are okay. They don't emit a lot of warmth or welcome when you walk in. And, there is one male employee who needs to step up their hygiene. Makes for an unpleasant experience unfortunately. Today's adventure was to make copies but I encountered a long wait time as the employee was helping an elderly woman with her purchase. She didn't know what size paper to use or what type of paper. The employee gets credit for their patience for sure. There is only one machine for copying and faxing and you can't operate without their assistance so you have to wait in line and then go back in line to pay. If I could do zero stars, I would. I dont know how the actual store employees are as I have not been there but the owner, Jeenul Singh, request our service (HVAC) because the air was not working. We told her how much our diagnostic fee was and she verbally agreed. Our technician found the problem and we sent her a quote to repair. She called our office and asked if we could lower the price as it was too much. We told her we were sorry that we could not and she continued to say, she would not pay the diagnostic fee then because she did not sign anything and hung up on us. Shoutout to Elijah at the UPS store! He is my favorite employee, as he is always cheerful and friendly even with some of the more repetitive tasks, like Amazon returns. He is very patient if you are returning multiple items and need to bring up multiple barcodes on your phone via the Amazon app (I try to be ready, but the app is always glitchy). He also is the only that doesn't make me feel like I am bothering them for coming in to do a return. I'm so disappointed that I need to find another ups store - I've been coming here for years! I mailed an overnight envelope for my sons rent 9 days ago. (His old-school landlord won't accept electronic payments). $45 and no sign of the check - still! Apparently the driver made a mistake on the address but that was a few days ago. Still no rent check! I've made 4 calls and 2 visits to UPS to try and find the package. THE ONLY response I get is the manager will get back to me the next day. Do I cancel the checks? What happened to Doug? He made one attempt to call me Monday, but I haven't heard back. It's Thursday. Pretty frustrating and disappointing. 1/13 Doug finally called me back and knew nothing about this. She fails to maintain and issue timely invoices and then harasses people for payment presenting dated bills some 6 months old to the prejudice of customers who rely on timely billing to manage their accounts. We went there to have some papers notarized. There were 2 ladies behind the counter. Never acknowledged our presence when we walked in. We were there for a good 5 minutes until a young man asked if he can help us. Unluckily, the notary person was the same lady who just looked at us when we came in. I don't think we'll go back there even though we have used this business for the longest time. The particular lady can work on her customer service skills. I've been a regular customer for years and always loved the warm, friendly, neighborhood vibe. You were always greeted with a smile. Sadly it has completely changed to now a very cold, impersonal atmosphere and I think this is due to one of their managers- she is ice cold- looks miserable every time I've been in. Generally speaking I avoid this UPS store. When you walk in the store, it is absolutely not appealing and an energy suck. The woman that was in there today was horrible. She sat there on the back counter, looking at her phone grumpy as all can be. She absolutely demonstrated that she did not want to be there nor did she want to work. One of the other employees asked for help. She begrudgingly helped him and acted like it was a big deal. Not once did she acknowledge the fact that I as a customer was even there. Sean from this store is a really chill, helpful employee. I had a package that I had dropped off the day before that didn't show up on my tracking. When I came into ask about it, he said they don't always show up right away. That actually did not occur to me. He was right, it showed up a few days later on my app. Helpful workers here, I have to say it's kind of a cramped space all around. They're making the best of some pretty narrow, dimly lit working conditions, especially in these pandemic times when personal space is more desirable than usual. What really impressed me was his follow through. Later that day I wrote a letter Requesting Certified Copies of a Page out of Notary Journal pursuant to Cal. Gov. Code § 8206. I included a return envelope and exactly 7 days later Sean not only returned copies of the page I needed, but he provided an original Certification by Document Custodian. This is the only ups store I frequent because of how easy it is to park and be in and out. Since moving here I've only been to this store and go out of my way to drive to this particular location. In general I feel like the customer service is just not there. Everyone seems extremely miserable working there, specifically the women. Would it kill them to be polite?! I went in to drop some packages and was the only customer in the store, I was completely ignored by the woman at the register. Even after making eye contact with her and waiting she didn't even acknowledge my presence. I patiently waited until she finally asked me what I needed. She did take my packages, but it was like she was in complete misery while she was doing it. Her frown and body language made me absolutely uncomfortable. I finally asked her what her name was after she was done printing my receipt and she smiled condescendingly and said "Forest". I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or if she's that miserable all the time, but good lord I'm sure she drives customers away. I for one will not be going back and will take my business to the closer UPS in Orinda. If I had someone like her representing my business I would be appalled at the lack of customer service. Maybe she should be encouraged to find a new job if she's not dedicated to her current role at the UPS store. All other interactions with employees have at least been pleasant, this has been the first time and honestly the last. read more

Where are you Doug....The previous owner has sold the store. The 2 employees, both women are totally rude. I use to go in and they would scan the QR code and I was good to go. They told me that they have no way to scan the code and since I did not bring a printed UPS address form I had to pay $3 to send them an meal so they could print it. When I told them that I had never done that since I had been coming to the store the one woman then told me that I could just leave. I told her that I was not talking to her and she told me to leave again. I held my ground until my package was ready to send. Whatever you do NOT go to the UPS store in Moraga or Lafayette. I have had the same attitude from both stores. None of the old great employees are there any more. And the prices of boxes and packing has gone way up in price.
