Came in close to closing time, and the staff was willing to help me ship my packages! It was my first time shipping packages through UPS, and he made the process very easy and stress free compared to USPS and Fedex. In addition, he was very straight forward and informative about the shipping time and costs. While the branch is small, it is more accessible with a larger amount of parking spots. My second bad experience at this UPS store in Rancho shopping Center in Los Altos. I went second time thinking that the first time was an anomaly and because of the convenience of proximity. Very unprofessional place. The lady, who may have been the owner, was on the phone all through out. Could not ask her anything about cheaper options to ship. If only she would get off that phone! Ended up walking out from the store paying $40! On both occasions of visiting this location it took far longer than it should as the employees seemed unprofessional and untrained. In the end the time I saved by not driving to another location did not matter not counting walking out with an unpleasant experience. Not going back to this Rancho shopping center location in Los Altos. I understand that UPS stores are privately owned and will differ in their quality of service. There are plenty good options in other UPS locations close by. read more

I have been assisted on numerous occasions by Sudha at this location in Los Altos and felt compelled to write a glowing review of her. Sudha always greets me by name and with a bright smile. She is always patient and willing to help me with any shipping or notarizing I may need. Sudha is kind with everyone and gives each costumer her complete attention. Wow. I came in here to send my packages for eBay. The postage was $2.54 but they charged a $2 'convenience ' fee... I had 6 packages. I had no idea they charged extra for using their services. Bizarre... I ended up walking out, but only after the manager let her employee to know that he shouldn't print postage out without letting clients know about the extra fee... Uncomfortable? Ya. Like, did I lose this poor guy his job because I didn't want to be gouged by their service fee? read more

Closed when they say they're open. As a working professional I rely on people being open when they say they are (on the store door and online), so I can plan pickups etc accordingly. They may think closing 15 minutes before the advertised time is OK, but it's not if you are relying on them being open as advertised. And I was not the only disappointed customer this evening. The lady who works behind the counter is very friendly and nice but doesn't know how to run the place to get customers in and out as quickly they could. When I went in, there were half a dozen people in need of service. She tried to interleave each customer's need, trying to save time for everyone but it winds up resulting in everyone waiting longer. I spent close to 20 mins waiting for one small thing I needed done but walked out. I then went over to the PostalAnex nearby on El Monte and got everything completed in under 5 minutes! read more

From the moment I walked in, Manjula greeted me and let me know she'd be with me shortly. While other customers walked in for various reasons, she always kept me a priority and let others know that when I was ready to complete my shipment, she'd be right with me again. She was efficient and clearly able to multitask while being pleasant. What was I there for? Terrible customer service. On both occasions, the store was not open on time. First time the clerk/owner wandered in 20 minutes late and our interaction with her was very negative. She took forever to complete our request for notary service, interrupting our request to serve other customers while we waited. Totally rude. The second time, the store was not open on time. The clerk/owner who complees notary service was not there and we were told she would be in at 11:30. So we returned to work and came back at 11:40 and were told she wouldn't be in until 1:30. Trainee clerk was rude to us. I'll never do business here again and would advise others to seek these services elsewhere. read more

I was really thrown off by the woman who helped me today and her attitude. I came here to ship back two pairs of tights to an online company I ordered from. I asked her to please give me the cheapest option. She said box or envelope? I said envelope. She picked out an envelope, stuck the tights in, and told me it was going to be $21.00. I said you've got to be kidding me! That is WAY too much money for the "cheapest option" and for such a light envelope. She had already sealed the envelope, when I saw that there was a flat rate option for $9.99 that would have worked for me. I asked her about that, and she said it was too late, that I had already chosen my envelope. No - you chose it for me, and then told me it was 21 dollars, lady. I asked her if I could send it priority mail instead, and she said oh yeah that is an option, and now it will be 11.00. OK - but you still didn't tell me that that was the cheapest option, or that I could actually do flat rate envelope for even cheaper. I was so irritated and annoyed with her lack of customer service and knowledge at this point that I just paid and left. Needless to say, they have lost a customer in me. The woman was rude and not knowledgable of the available options, or she was just looking out to make more money for herself by charging me the more expensive option. No thanks. read more
