Recently, I was faced with a dilemma in determining whether or not I should ship a very expensive item ($10k+ value) to Mexico, due to a sale I made for the item through an online marketplace. While tempting to ship to Mexico, so I could realize proceeds from the online sale, Ash suggested that shipping to Mexico has its risks, given the contractor network that exists in this international market. After the risks were illustrated to me, I opted not to ship the sold item, and avoided what could have been a deep monetary loss. Very grateful for Ash's transparency and candidness, given to me even when it might have come at the expense of lost shipping revenue. It wasn't so much that they charge 2 bucks to seal a box - though shockingly that comes out to $240 an hour to seal a box for less than 15 seconds of work (15 seconds + 4 feet of tape which costs under 5¢). The real beef was the passive aggressive way of trying to upsell me. "Do you have tape in your car? Because we charge 2 per package to seal, or you can buy your own tape". The tape they carry was not unreasonably priced, and I might even have paid the 2 bucks per box, but i refuse to support a business were someone, even if perhaps with good intentions, can be so uncourteous. And after doing the math, for sealing a box I just feel like while everyone is entitled to make a buck, a business should not feel entitled to gouge a client with unreasonable pricing specially when the service person lacks courtesy. read more

Brought a box in for an Amazon return. I was asked to leave because I asked for a piece of tape. That's like walking into a 7/11 and asking for a napkin or to use the bathroom. These people are cheap they wouldn't give me a small piece to secure the retail packaging, they wanted to charge me. You know your job is meaningless when you feel intimidated because of a customer micromanaging and asking to retain the retail product box and a small piece of tape. Frankly anyone could do the job, it takes little training, but he went out of your way to prove himself wrong, then told me to leave, never come back and acted like he was the victim; He said "don't tell me how to do my job, then asked if I wanted to work here?" I nodded, politely, said yes, then gestured to walk behind the counter." The whole episode was straight out of Seinfeld, how not to ask for a piece of tape. This UPS store needs better service, it's a mixed bag TO TGE OWNER: a box is a generic box and the label gets affixed to the cardboard box. If you throw out the retail packaging the product comes in I will get charged with a restock fee. The product was used for 1 day as a result of non familiarity. When you process a return there are two questions 1. Do you have the original retail packaging - has it been opened or not? 2. Have you used the product or is it brand new? No box or label needed means no secondary box or label affixed. They said I had to buy a roll of tape. This store is sooo difficult. I've been to the store at least three times. Probably all of those times I've dealt with the owner. Whoever I dealt with, I've received fantastic service. I don't agree with the attitudes of the one-star reviewers. The last time I went to the UPS store I had to process a return (actually it was a takeback bag, not an Amazon return) and I did not know what I was doing. The process was confusing and unfortunately, they were customers behind me, but the guy walked me through it in a very professional, friendly manner. Part of the process was that he had to print out a shipping label. He told me that it would be free that time, but in the future, I'd have to pay for it. I offered to pay for it, but he insisted that the service that first time was free. I'm about to go back and process another takeback bag; I hope this time is a bit less confusing. I'll be paying for the shipping label this time! But I know I will have a pleasant interaction with the store clerk, because I always have. It's not their job to give out things for free, like packing tape (or printing labels!!). Fellow reviewers, either bring your own tape, or don't complain! Even the bankrupt USPS and FedEx don't charge for tape. I guess it is not a community store like the other ones I have been to. Oh and by the way it is not this store's fault it is Amazon's fault. Parking is easy as it is in a large strip mall with a generous sized parking lot and several street entrances with Ralphs and CVS, laundry, Pollo Loco, Sees, and a variety of other stores. The staff are always super polite and helpful and rarely have to stand in line. I used to go to the UPS Store at Olympic and Sawtelle but the parking there is a nightmare, the store is cramped, and you almost always have to stand in line. So this has been a huge improvement for our neighborhood. read more

Do not come to this location. They will charge you for every single thing. After i bought a box for my package they wanted to charge me more money to tape it up for me. Also $9 dollars for a box they may have been 16x16. They charge a $2 printing fee plus a charge per page after that. I've been to other locations that have recycled boxes that they'll give you for free. read more
