I am updating my prior review because I am hoping that the owner of this franchise reaches out to me about about my package which was opened and resealed and stuffed with an empty plastic bag in the UPS store on 387 2nd Avenue. I have 2 police reports (from Precinct 13) and MA, where the recipient of the empty package lives. I am trying to avoid small claims court. I have tried to get in touch with the owner of the store via the sites email and emails directly to the manager. The police have also requested video from the store for that evening. Lissette Apolo is the worst manager I have come across. She would not release my package with my ID first name written in Italian and translated in English. I showed the credit cards with the English name and also offered to show the notarized document that says I am the same person and the name is just a translation. She did not want to see the document, ironically being a notary herself. I can pickup packages at the post office with what I provided but that wasn't enough for her at the UPS Store. I felt compelled to write a review specifically for one of the gentlemen working at this location. Abiel provides absolutely outstanding service every single time. Not only is he knowledgeable and efficient, handling my shipments quickly, but he is also incredibly easy to speak with. Abiel is always patient, kind, and willing to help with whatever I need, no matter how busy the store gets. It's always nice to see him; he has a way of making stressful errands feel easy. Furthermore, it is always such a pleasure to be greeted warmly when I walk in the door--he genuinely makes everyone feel like a valued customer. Abiel consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. I can't recommend this location enough. This UPS store is pretty close to my apartment. They just changed locations and moved across the street from where they've been for years. Giving 3 stars because the gentleman in his late 20's early 30's at the counter is always so rude to me! For no reason honestly. It's hard to hear someone speak through the mask and plexiglass (love to see them taking the proper precautions though) and he's acts SO annoyed when I politely ask him to repeat what he said because he speaks so low. They are so lucky to have Lissette in this job. She's the best I wouldn't deal with anybody else, but the setbecause she knows where she's doing she's helpful. Today I got there when the store opened at 8am. No one was there and the store was locked. A line began to form. Slowly people gave up as the clock kept ticking and no one showed up to open the store. Finally, at 8:25, a male employee showed up. He didn't say a word - sorry, I'm late - or anything to acknowledge the line. He took his time and kept his headphones in. Finally at 8:30 he started helping the queue of customers and still never said a word. I come here regularly and Lisette is wonderful and I've never had an issue. But how do you have a customer-facing business and not acknowledge that you're 30 minutes late opening a store? read more

Just a note to commend the extraordinary manager of the 387 2nd Street UPS store --Lisette--and her exceptional staff, most of them personally trained by Lisette. Lisette was not born in the U.S., yet she embodies the best virtues of American enterprise: friendliness, professionalism and deep knowledge of the business. I've lived in Manhattan for more than a decade and have trusted this store for hundreds of my shipments. In some ways, I feel they are family, in part because many of my shipments involve MY family and I want them handled with care and precision. And that's exactly the case. Lisette and her staff greet me by name and with a smile. (no small thing in today's frenzied Manhattan). No matter busy they are, I've never felt they didn't care about my business. For the rare instance in which a package is delayed or damaged -- no fault of the store -- I am kept informed of progress toward a solution, and there's always a satisfactory solution. Once last year when power collapsed in a block of stores including the 2nd Avenue UPS, I found Lisette inside the office using a flashlight to give directions to customers on where to go to find services. Any other store would have just closed and locked the door immediately. I was not surprised. Probably one of the worst UPS stores I have ever encountered across the US... I used this location twice once because UPS delivery couldn't deliver a parcel and left it there, and second time to mail something and wow the same rude lady was there for both times! Her tone of voice was full of condescending attitude and complained pretty much about everything. They also nickel and dime you for items that are free at any other UPS store, from like the 5 day free pickup provided by UPS or needing to use their tape. And no where in any contracts says that you owe any of those fees but only at this special location, they like to make up fees as they go on the spot. Avoid at all costs! read more

Terrible. Not only was the customer service ho I just paid $4.35 to print 3 pieces of paper at this UPS store. Unlike Staples and USPS where you can email it and get a link (For free) and print them for .14c each, they charge you $3 to email it to them, plus .30c a page for B/W. DID THE RUDE GIRL TELL ME THAT?!? Of course not. Never once was told the price. She also complained because customers were coming in and her coworker 'jinxed' them so they had to work. Never returning. I was NEVER TOLD THE PRICE. I tell everyone to avoid this location and all UPS for printing. read more

The short: Literally, never again. This store sucks, is gross & messy, overpriced with rude staff. Order on Amazon or use city moving boxes, or any other NYC box delivery service. The longer: we walk into the store and there's no one there except the cashier. We told him we were looking for moving boxes and asked prices, and he handed us a piece of paper with box dimensions and sizes and turned away. We looked at him and said: "we just need a large box and a medium size box." We asked if he could show us the boxes. He, instead, took 2 customers and answered a phone call before helping us. Then, he scolded me like a child for grabbing a bag for the boxes, when I had asked him twice to no avail. Aside from the shitty customer service, this place has limited stock, is very messy & unkempt, and overcharges beyond belief. We paid $60 for 4 boxes and a baby sized thing of bubble wrap. Never again. We ordered from Amazon and an online delivery service. I don't recommend this spot for purchasing moving supplies. read more

I had them pack an art work to be shipped. When it arrived, the glass was shattered and frame was broken. They apparently just bubble wrapped and left the corners unprotected and did nothing to cover the glass. Since I had paid almost $150 just for packing (plus hundreds for shipping), I requested the packing fee to be refunded but never heard back from them. When I called, the manager put me on hold and didn't come back. When they charge that much for packing you expect them to do a professional job, not that of amateurs. Don't use them if you want your things to be delivered without damage. read more

Awful service, I had a package sent to this location for my son to pick up. Tracking showed delivered and signed for by Lisette on 1/31. He went in on 2/1 to pick up the package and they could not locate it and said it had not been delivered despite being signed for a day earlier. They did not even attempt to locate it and said to just come back the next day, I paid extra to have it delivered by 1/31 knowing he needed it by 2/1. We can't even track the package because it's been marked delivered. I would give them a zero rating if I could. read more

I went to this store on a whim. Need my passport photo taken and saw the sign in the window. I was very happy with my choice. They actually have professional photo equipment / printing which made my picture come out perfect. They seem to have everything here. They also have mailboxes and computer print stations. This review is for their notary services. Was sooo hard to find notary services at any bank near me in midtown (all said they no longer had someone or offered). I tried this location today and was so happy to find a competent person managing the store and helping me notarize documents. $2 a document but was worth it since it's hard to find someone to do it otherwise when you need it.
