This review is for their notary services. Was sooo hard to find notary services at any bank near me in midtown (all said they no longer had someone or offered). I tried this location today and was so happy to find a competent person managing the store and helping me notarize documents. $2 a document but was worth it since it's hard to find someone to do it otherwise when you need it. I pick up my framed artwork from Blick. I walk a little and become worried that frame is going to get banged up or break on my commute home (it's glass) so I decide I'd better buy some bubble wrap to protect it. I go to UPS store and purchase bubble wrap. I ask the person who works at UPS store if it is ok for me to take out my picture and wrap it for commute home. UPS store employee tells me that they don't allow people to wrap or pack things in their store (mind you, THIS IS UPS...A PLACE THAT SHIPS THINGS!!!) UPS store employee tells me I can go home and wrap my picture and then come back (um....defeats purpose). I go next door to Duane Reade where they are more than happy to let me use an empty register counter to wrap up my picture. The end. read more

Bradley, I have a copy of the delivery notification showing my package was delivered to your location on August 28. The UPS claims investigators that you suggest I contact confirmed this. After a week's worth of phone calls to your location, UPS investigations, and the sender, it turns out your location did receive my package, even though you spent the past week denying it. Maybe that video surveillance system you mentioned is broken. read more

This may sound strange, but I look forward to when I have a reason to visit this UPS store. The staff is customer service focused and friendly. While sometimes you pay a premium for some of the office services (like faxing or printing) I know that my tasks are being handled thoroughly and professionally. Also notary services are quick, efficient, and affordable and a notary is almost always there when I need one. More reliable than my bank! read more

Had to return a package. When I walked in clerk was sitting on a box or stool behind the counter. I didn't see him at first. Once I did I said "hello". No response. I let him know what I needed, and that I had a prepaid return label. The box would also need to be taped closed. "It's $2.18.", he said. This place charges for tape. When I asked why this store charged for taping a box closed the clerk said nothing and shrugged his shoulders. I pressed the issue letting him know other UPS stores in the area didn't charge for this service. He answered that the stores are independently owned and the owner can charge for whichever services they choose. The clerk also didn't want to cover the original address label on the box, which had tape over it, until I insisted. Horrible service, unfriendly clerk, ridiculous pricing. Other UPS shops in the neighborhood don't charge for tape and provide better customer service. Avoid this place. read more

Incredibly lazy and unhelpful. Missed a package the day before and was told to pick it up here, showed the notice saying so as well as the tracking number, and the guy said it was Fed Ex shipping it. When I showed him the notice was UPS, he then actually looked it up by my name ( the wrong name first ) then the tracking number and said it's not there. He then offered zero help and stared blankly. The Notary at this UPS store is very rude and discourteous. She notarized a set of documents a few months ago. When I went back to get the very same documents notarized again, she refused to do telling me there had to be a declaration. When I showed her the declaration, she told me to go elsewhere. I sent an international letter at this location. It cost me $85 to send 6 pieces of letter size paper to Japan. The store clerk didn't tell me how much it would cost until I slid my credit card. Then she said it's too late to cancel (according to her it is UPS policy). USPS Post Office usually costs less than $25 for the same kind of letter to Japan. I have just wasted $60. I wonder if the store clerk collects commissions on sales, or she pockets the entire $60. Consumers, be careful!!! read more

I bought 3 photo mailer envelopes, and walked over to the post office to mail. 2 of the envelopes were sealed, which I didn't notice when I bought them, and I couldn't get them open without tearing them. I walked back to the UPS store (10 minutes after I bought the envelopes) and told the girl I had bought them from. She looked at the other envelopes on the shelf and said they weren't sealed, and I was the last one to buy them. WHAT? Basically saying I had sealed them myself. So, I ripped the envelopes open, and said "Can I at least get tape to fix them?". The young man helped me. I guess I was lucky, from what others have said, that they didn't charge me $2.50 for each strip of tape. I understand that they are overpriced, and charge for every little thing, that is expected. But being accused of lying about the envelopes is going too far. read more

Awful staff! The lady was on her cell phone the entire time talking in Spanish. She rang me up but the whole time she was on her cell phone. I couldn't even ask her a question because she wouldn't get off the phone or give me the eye contact. Does the store manager accept that? How can you work and be on your cell phone at the same time? I am not sure if it is a New York thing or just this location, but I was told that to drop off a prepaid USPS package at this location I would have to pay $5. In San Francisco I have never been charged such a fee. They did accept my prepaid ups package and printed me a receipt without much hassle or wait, so I am giving a couple stars for that. read more

I asked to speak to the owner and they said they would take my info. Then they took it and threw it away. Don't come here go somewhere else. This store tried to charge me $36 extra because my UPS package was shipped here arriving on a Friday and picked up on a Monday. I paid $48 for shipping and when I asked them to show me where on the shipping agreement or website that an additional $36 was mentioned they couldn't find it. In fact, the website says UPS will hold it for 5 days free. They claimed since they are an independent franchise they can charge whatever they want. The clerk called the manager who said to reduce the fee to $6, but they still couldn't tell me where ANY extra fee were listed in any agreement. Just got out of there because it was like talking to sheetrock. Never use this place again. read more

I am a UPS My Choice Premium member and I went in here a few months ago to pick up my package I had rerouted to this store free of charge (it comes with the $40/year price of the premium membership). The complete bitch behind the counter argued constantly with me and had no idea what the My Choice membership even was. She called her manager and he had to correct her, but they were both rude to me and she didn't offer me an apology. As soon as I got home that evening, I got in contact with one of the top customer service managers at UPS via their customer service number and explained the situation. The manager on the phone was very helpful, apologetic, and issued me a full credit for my inconveniences. The manager also stated that the rude employee would be dealt with in a serious manner, and that she would be reprimanded. Avoid this store at all costs. Go to the one on 23rd and Park. Always friendly!! I initially came here for shipping, but I have since learned they are printers as well. I have had them print and bind presentations for client meetings. Just recently, I renewed my passport and had them take the photo here. They have become my 1 stop shop. The place is always clean and organized. It's a nice happy environment. Went there to purchase an atypical box, great! Found out that I really didn't need it. Went back the next day with my receipt to get a refund. Oh wait...no returns or exchanges...? Is this 1971?!?! Man behind counter whips out a plastic placard with the Return/Exchange policy that was NOT displayed anywhere in the the entire store...how handy. Hey Gramercy UPS, I feel duped and mislead. Thanks for that. Been there several more times to drop off Amazon packages and still don't see the the Return policy, guess they only whip it out when required. read more

I have gone to other UPS stores, but I've since stopped and I ONLY go to this location, as this one is the BEST. I have never had any issues with this location, always receive service with a smile, and the manager, Lizzette, is the absolute BEST that I have encountered in all of the UPS stores that I have patronized. Lizzette is knowledgable, extremely helpful, and always super courteous. FYI: fragile packages are always received in perfect condition. All of the employees at this location are very helpful and also are true professionals. This UPS location is the only one for me. I have to say my experience was far different from some of the other posters. I had a small item to send quickly to Chicago. Israel was unbelievably patient with me as I struggled to find the right address (Avenue? Street? Neither?) and helped me with the packaging. A small transaction for sure in a day of more significant errands but it was so easy and pleasant. I'll be going back and hope to have an equally good experience. read more
