Went to go drop off 3 packages to return to Amazon and the older middle eastern worker with glasses was very rude. Said I needed to be ready and organized as I was and that returning needed to be out of the bag/box because they were really busy and the process needed to be quick but there were no customers behind me. Wow... never had such terrible or rude service at a UPS store. Manager who seems to hate his job, terrified junior employees, and during the pandemic, I also saw employees not wearing masks :( not safe! [EDIT] The defensive manager comment on this review is not accurate. The aggregated low reviews for this location say it all :) When I called Amazon from the store, they quickly and kindly solved the problem for me, which threw in sharp relief the rude and unkind service at this UPS location. Additionally, to be more specific, the UPS driver in the store picking up and loading packages into the truck outside was not wearing a mask and panting from exertion in close proximity to customers. read more

This is my go-to spot for Amazon returns and such. They are a great, hard-working team. They even gave me free advice for eBay shipping! To those complaining about their unwillingness to provide tape and lowering their review to one star, the onus is on you, my friends. Did they complete their job of SHIPPING for you? Then they deserve a fair rating. They can't be giving out free supplies. You work in retail? Do you give out a free scarf when someone buys a sweater? Give me a break! Stop expecting a handout and be prepared to SHIP your item when you bring it to the store. For those that bought tape, keep it in your car for next time! Cash and card accepted. The UPS Store is located in a plaza and offers plaza parking. If I could give this place 0 or negative stars, I would. The man who was working here when I went in around 1pm on a weekday was the most unhelpful employee ever. There was no one else in the store but me and I had gone in to ask for help since I had a couple large boxes to ship (one was heavy and over 40 pounds). I'm pregnant and due in a couple weeks, and he could see I was pregnant because he looked at my belly when I asked for help, but he wouldn't help me. Instead he gave me a dolly and told me to bring the boxes in myself. I should've left then but was already there. I struggled with getting the boxes out of my car, onto the dolly, up the sidewalk ramp, and while trying to open the door myself while pushing the dolly and boxes through the door. The guy still didn't even help me and just watched me struggle. I then realized I had forgotten to tape the shipping labels on and asked for tape. I had to pay over $5 for a tiny roll of tape. After taping one of the labels onto the boxes the guy tells me he needs the labels to scan. I had to then move the box to him so he could scan the label. Luckily I didn't put the label on the heavy box yet and was able to just provide him with that label. He instructed me where to put the smaller of the two boxes after he scanned the labels. I struggled with the heavier, second box the most, and had a hard time getting it off the dolly. The guy still watched me and didn't provide help and just instructed me where I should put the box. There was still no one else in the store but me... I finally got it off the dolly, put the label on with the expensive tape, and moved the box to the other side of door where the guy instructed me to. Omg... Worst customer service and experience ever!!!! I will never go back here and won't give this place future business. read more

Out of curiosity, I also asked if they do Passports and he said yeah we can even do it right now, walk-in's usually welcome!! RE: store #1411 on Jarvis Ave., Newark, CA Indians running his store giving other Indians a bad name! Brought back an Amazon Prime Return with only a partial QR code which I didn't realize at the time. Instead of telling me what the problem was, I was told the package would be $40 to ship back. And they said mean things in Gujarati about my appearance and other customers' backs thinking no one else speaks that language?! Disgusting behavior and zero ethics! Learn how to run a business. I hope this store shuts down. All the online reviews are true! I went 2.5 miles away to another UPS store and got treated with respect and was told the QR code didn't print appropriately. They shipped my return back at no charge and printed off my label for me. The lack of franchise control and the way these people take advantage of and make a mockery of their customers is appalling. read more

Came to return Amazon package. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Brought in two packages in the same packaging. One they accepted and the other they did not have the Amazon label. They would not let me return it cuz it was not in the original packaging they said. It was exactly the same box and item from Amazon. So now I have to go find a Amazon shipping label and put it on to box so they can put their return label over it. Wow. What kind of logic is this? WHY CAN'T I GIVE NO STARS OR NEGATIVE STARS YELP?! I came here today 4/28/22 and RAJ was playing and joking with my packages, all while handing me blank Amazon tickets and purposely putting wrong stickers on wrong packages. He also did not give me tickets for my Amazon returns until I corrected him. WHAT KIND OF BS SYHT IS THIS!!? WHO THE HECK DO THEY THINK THEY ARE!!?This stupidity has been going on for years UPS!? They took my two packages and told me to go back to my car and tape one of the boxes. When I came back they started harassing me and yelling at me to GET OUT and it's only 6:29 PM. I reported some of the awful and racist comments I saw for this location. I think it's messed up how so many people want to be serviced like they are at a boutique shop. I find the demeanor of folks here perfectly normal to friendly. This UPS location is meant for busy people, who want to drop, know what they want, and get out. I don't go to UPS to chitchat, I also don't do long lines. Come here if you want to save time, and do better things in life than complain about crazy efficient people. I frequently do business at the UPS store at 6167 Jarvis Ave, Newark, CA 94560. I am a very friendly person and believe in greeting whomever I approach; however, the owner at the UPS never greets me back. I'm also usually a happy person, and my happiness has often gone away when I visit this UPS. This is because my experience at this UPS store has often dampened my spirit, due to the way the owner treats me. He never greets me back, he points with his finger where he wants me to go, stand and place packages. When he does actually make eye contact with me very seldom, he cuts and rolls his eyes, and the times he has said anything to me, it is always in a snappy and curt manner. He has taunted me a few times and said demeaning things to other vendors who may have been delivering something at the time. And it's very obvious that he's referring to me when does this, because all three vendors have always looked back at me and they both would chuckle. He slightly throws the receipt on the counter instead of handing it to me. This is not an exhaustive list of how I am treated when I visit this UPS, but this should give you a good idea of what I've been dealing with for the last year and a half or so. This treatment is extremely rude and condescending and at this point I feel like he treats a dog better than he treats me. I don't know if it has anything to do with me being a black person. I say this because often times, after such treatment toward myself, he would look up at, smile at, and greet a white person behind me. Even though I'm at my wits end with this UPS owner, I don't want to have to drive 10 more miles to another store to send off packages. I'm not used to being treated this way, especially when I am patronizing a business and very regularly. read more

Looks like they hired a younger indian dude who is much nicer and professional. He is the reason why I added 1 more star to this review. The old rude indian guy still seems to be there from time to time. For months, i thought he was the owner of the place because he was behaving like a bombastic moron. Dropping off a package to ship. Everything in a box, there is a roll of ups tape on the counter and the guy will not take the box because it is "not properly sealed." Says he will not seal it but he will sell tape on the shelf for $6.99/roll. I ask if I can use the tape that is obviously being used for packaging other boxes, he says no. Was a friendly guy, the store associate is following the rules he is given, was a pleasurable individual, but it is the store manager's policy that caused me to walk out and use FedEx. read more
