I have a lot of wine and cigars shipped so I typically choose either a FedEx location or UPS location to have it directly sent to. 90% of the time I have the ability to chose FedEx (the one in Fairfax on Fairfax Blvd is fantastic!), but sometimes I'm left with no other option than UPS. This is not a knock on UPS overall - I haven't had issues with them, honestly. But this store is one of the reasons I will always choose FedEx over UPS all day / every day. Good: - location (close to my house) - Saturday hours Bad: - service: 50% of the time I have someone good, 50% I do not. Today I got to listen to a manager tell another customer they are wrong and how they have 'so many people give good feedback about their store' while I waited in line to pick up my package. - will charge to have a package delivered to their store. I've paid as much as $10 per box to sit in their store for less than 2 hours. I get it if it's left there, taking up space, for 2-3 days - but I was at the store 2 hours after it posted as 'delivered' and was still charged $10 per box (mind you I had already paid $120 to have it shipped from the store). There's nothing else that I can offer regarding this location - not sure what else is expected from a shipping store (they have supplies and copiers - like all stops). But this is the first one I've been to that charges to receive packages. If you're reading this - just opt for the FedEx in Fairfax - they are so much nicer and they don't charge to receive your packages. read more

Have pmb and have NEVER received a single email notification of a package delivery even though this is included in the monthly fee that I pay! They have my email but staff is too lazy to notify. Last package I didnt know I received sat for 2 weeks! Very bad service at this location. read more

Quick, efficient, and as often as I come here, why does it seem like everyone likes working here? The only times I've experienced a wait is when the customers have complicated requests and/or come totally unprepared which isn't bad because again, the employees here are soooooo patient. Went in to do a routine amazon return. Packed my product box inside another empty but sturdy leftover lego box. The guy working there today on 09272024 barked at me that the box was unacceptable and would be rejected by Amazon since it was not an Amazon shipping box. I've shipped many products to Amazon before in various non-amazon boxes and had no issue. He then proceeded to offer his store box for $7. Why would I dismantle my carefully packed package that is already labeled and free to pay him $7 unnecessarily. I did not find truth in his tale, so I went straight to another UPS store in Fairfax who graciously accepted my package without question or upsell. I called back and demanded to know why they were playing me crooked just to sell a $7 box. The rep stated the manager told them to say that. I did not believe that. I asked to speak with Alex, the manager, but he was conveniently not available at that store. He stated I could reach him at the Falls Church office. I called there and they stated he was not available until Monday. Not sure if there is any real manager, but I suspect if this message does not reach him, then no complaint ever will. read more

I have been to this location numerous times and it is by far the best. The store is very organized and clean. The employees are kind and efficient. Marlon (I think he's the owner) even took the time to answer some tricky questions I had about packing and shipping a lamp. Terrible service. Planned to drop off an Amazon return. The guy told me I have to have a box( for an unopened Amazon box). I went back home and put the Amazon box in another box and returned to the UPS store. The same guy said it needs to be taped. I walked out outraged. I went to the Vienna UPS store, and the gentleman removed the box from the Amazon box and shipped it as I always do. read more

No complaints. I have yet to use their shipping services, but having to settle a relative's estate means that I need a lot of notarized documents. Generally, there is a notary available. There are no specific notary hours, but sometimes she or he will duck out and thus not be available. The fee is a reasonable $5. The location is really the best part of the this UPS Store. It's easy to get in and out of the lot. There is always plenty of parking. It's next to Giant meaning that it's easy to drop in without having to go out of the way. read more

The Worst! I came to store at 4:40 on 3/13 to drop off 2 packages - young guy behind the counter said he could help me with one but couldn't help me with the other because the store closed in 20 min and he had to be somewhere by 5:30!!!! This was after standing in line. I sat in my car stunned by the lack of customer service and watched at least 4 more people come and go - who apparently he helped - i live by this store but will make an extra trip to Vienna so I don't have to use this store again! read more

Great customer service as always. This location is probably the nearest location to my house. The staffs are very attentive and helpful. The only down side is the stores worldwide are closed on Sunday, and hour of operation is only till evening (5pm or 6pm). However, over all is good. read more

This place is near my house and very convenient...I shop at the Giant in the same plaza. The people are nice and I really wish I could recommend the place, but the prices they charge for boxes and "packing services" are insane. Typically the cost of the box and the tape is more than the price of the shipping. I have commented that it seems ridiculously expensive and they just say "We don't set the prices, there's nothing we can do about it." I was recently back in Indiana and sent three packages while I was there, and they charged $1.99 for a box. Here in Oakton, I've been charged $16 for a box!! And THEN charges for the effort it took for them to put it INTO the box and tape it. I ONLY go there now if I have already boxed it myself. If I need to buy a box or bubble wrap, I will find a more affordable place. read more

I use this location for USAA check deposits. They are my FAVORITE over all other greater Fairfax locations. Always polite and professional, they don't dilly dally and the one time their check reader wouldn't read my check properly they were so genuine in their appology....even suggested other locations. read more

Terrible customer service-rip off. All I wanted was printouts of .pdf files from a USB drive. The guy at this Oakton UPS Store wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount of money for "his time" to send the files to their printer. Not only did he want to charge for the printing, he wanted to charge to send the file to the printer. Last I checked they don't charge for "their time" to carry paper to the copy machine and load the originals into the copy machine feeder and remove the originals from the feeder. Hmm but somehow doing a few clicks warrants a crazy charge? I have asked for this service many times at many places like the UPS Store, FedEx Kinkos, Staples, etc. and NEVER did any of them charge me for "handling" the files. About 20 minutes after the UPS Store encounter I was happily being served by FEDEX Kinkos. They printed the pages without complaint. They appreciated my business. read more

I was very desperate to use the expedited shipping services at this UPS store. My son had left for college with no dressy clothes or shoes, and had a job interview in two days. I paid $72 dollars (can you believe it?) to send him a small box with a pair of shoes, pants, a dress shirt, and a necktie. I paid extra to ensure that it would be delivered by 10:30 a.m. the day before his interview. Well, 10:30 comes and goes, and no box. I ask UPS to track the box. Apparently, the box has disappeared, and there is absolutely no trace of it in the system once it was sent to Chantilly. They have no idea where it is or when it will arrive. The manager (I can't remember her name, but she had a strong accent) just tells me that once the box has been received, they will refund my shipping costs. I explain my desperate situation to her, and she just says that there is nothing she can do. I suggested that she make some phone calls to the Chantilly office where the box was last seen. Finally, after my husband and I both called her and begged, she promised that she would look into it and get back to us. I guess we shouldn't be surprised that we never heard from her. Using the tracking number, we were able to find out the following morning that the box had been located and would be delivered a day late. Unfortunately, it was too late for my son's interview. The store manager apparently could not be bothered to check the tracing number. For $72 expedited shipping, I expected the manager to at least show some attempts to rectify or follow up on the situation. We still have never heard from her. read more

Just awful, inexcusable customer service. Shipped a box that my movers mistakenly left and had it insured at the store - no issues. Three days later I receive a call from the store owner (forgot her name) who leaves a voice mail telling me that because the box is a moving box and not a USPS box, she cannot ensure the USPS will honor the insurance in case the box is missing. She also informs me that it is an approx. $50 additional charge. I call back several times and receive different information from store staff (telling me that it should be fine to ship as is), before finally speaking to the store owner. Obviously had the store employee told me about this issue at the store, I would have simply purchased a USPS box for a few bucks and put the moving box in the USPS box at the store myself (probably would have taken about 60 seconds). Given that this was a clear mistake by the store staff, the charge for packing should have been comped and I would have been happy to pay for the USPS box. The store owner tells me that she cannot do this because "there is cost involved". She was completely unapologetic. I ended up significantly lowering the insurance and paying an additional $20 for the shipment as they essentially had my package hostage at that point as I had moved across country. Shameful customer service. read more
