We had passport pictures taken at this location. Two of the four sets were rejected by usps because they did not meet the parameters set forth for the passport photos. The lady showed me the problem - the heads in the photos were too large. We paid $15 for each set of two photos. Ups will not refund the $30 wasted. They offered to retake but we already had our appointment and they redid them there for another few. We had them done at ups to save time and instead were out time and money. Huge disappointment. Obviously these folks don't know how to take a proper passport photo and need to retrain their personnel. read more

The owner of this store is a rude person. I was at this store few minutes back and initially the guy (staff) offered to pack one of my box but the owner asked him to charge me without telling me the cost. It was a cheap poly bag (not the bubble one) and asked me to pay $5 for it and when I said that's a high cost for that cheap poly bag, he started showing me other bags and their cost which I was not interested in. When I asked him to get rid of the bag, he refused. I'll suggest everyone to stay away from this dishonest and greedy man who runs this store. read more

Why didn't I read the Yelp reviews?!? SHORT sorry: avoid this place at ALL COSTS! So I've been pretty MIA from Yelp because life has been crazy busy, but I wanted to take a few moments to warn everyone about this store especially the store manager Dawn. So I'm trying to print out handbooks for work and I asked the staff if they could do it. No one really has an answer. But points me to Dawn. I spend 5-10 minutes trying to explain to her I need a 5x7" booklet printed out and bound. It's pretty simple, I could totally do this on my home computer, but between being a mommy, wife, and working professional I just don't have the bandwidth. As I was explaining this to her she was incredibly rude, condescending, downright making things difficult. Girl do you want my business or not? I ask her if she can print me a test copy and she says no I have like 40 jobs ahead of you and I was up until midnight. So I'm like ok should I feel bad that you have a lot of business and are raking in the $$$ or was that a hint that you didn't want more business? So I let that comment slide and then I ask her if we can't do a test copy then what if it's printed wrong? A simple well then I'll print it out again correct or blah blah blah would have sufficed instead of listing your not so impressive "extensive" credentials. Ok I let that comment too slide. And said fine. What was the last straw was I asked her to bind it for me and she say yes we'll staple it. I'm like what the am I paying you to print paper and staple it together. I can totally do that at my work computer. My 16 month son can probably staple paper together. Then she shows me other ways that we can bind the booklet and offers to laminate it in which I responded lamination wouldn't work in case I need to have them change it mid-year. Then she responds with I'm not a mind reader and I'm working on teaching my daughter that I don't mind read... that was the final straw. I'm not your daughter nor should I have to tell you every little detail. I gave you one simple task. To print and bind a 5x7" booklet. Dawn you need to learn better customer service. I hope that this review is helpful to others as I have never been more upset and humiliated in a long time. Condensation should not be tolerated in a customer service location. I was recently in town visiting a good friend who decided to throw me a surprise birthday party! Little did I know, a good amount of my high school friends would show up and a lot of them brought gifts! There was no way I was going to pack everything into my carry-on, so I found the closes UPS store! I have to say they were friendly and very professional in their interaction with me and how they managed to pack each of my items, some were fragile glass. The box arrived on the same day I got back! I see the other poor reviews and laugh because peoples' expectations are not always realistic and get frustrated like the store sets the high prices on shipping certain things. I have had a box there for 20 years and they have been my print shop for post cards, signs and banners! We definitely miss Ron, but the lead staff that is there was trained by him. Really disappointed with the service here. Last time I was in there, 1 person was being helped ahead of me. So, 1 employee was helping that customer, 1 more was in the back, 2 were talking and looking at a screen and a 5th was walking around aimlessly. NO ONE even addressed me 'thanks for coming in", "we will be right with you" nothing! Slowly, the line got longer and longer. No acknowledgment from the employees at all. The person in the back comes out and someone from the back of the line grabs them and pulls them off toward the printers (ok, I was here first and would have expected the employee to make sure next in line was helped, but c'est la vie). All I needed was a receipt for dropping off an Amazon return. Not a hard thing. This morning, I get here at 8:26 (4 minutes early). Employee one walks up at 8:28, looks at my box on the ground, looks at me, unlocks the door, walks in and locks the door behind her. Not a word. Employee two walks up at 8:30 and it was pretty much a ground hog day situation. Hey, you're supposed to be open at 8:30. Don't ignore your customer. At least say 'I just have to get the computers on and I will be right back' or 'Good morning, I will have the doors open just as soon as I can.' In the meantime, two other people came and waited and left. 8:38, they let me in and the computers are still getting going. I bring my package to the lady standing at the computer on the left. She says her computer isn't working yet and sends me to the other computer. I'm past due with a HUGE baby belly. Cmon people. I am not feeling patient with this. I take my package to the other computer. The other lady walks up and says she's still waiting for the computer. Cue a new customer coming in. Original employee then helps the new customer with her computer that supposedly wasn't working while I now wait for the other computer to run. Overall, just really not impressed. To be fair, I wasn't feeling as I like to try to be. But I felt like I wasn't being acknowledged, the employees weren't kind or thoughtful. No customer service or smiles or good mornings or acknowledgements I'm really any way. I will be taking my future business to the UPS store a mile up contra costa off of Golf Club road. The guy couldn't scan the amazon return code from my phone so asked me to do something which I didn't understand because with a face mask it is not always clearly hearable. Than the IMPATIENT guy suddenly "grabbed" my phone and put it on the desk without my permission!!!!!!!!! It was really disturbing both grabbing my phone from my hand without asking and putting it on a unsanitized desk with his unsanitized hands in these days! I'm sure about "unsanitized" part because I was waiting in line for a while and didn't see any sanitizing moment! And when I told him that I'm uncomfortable with his behavior, he kept being rude instead of apologizing! Charge $1 to tape a box to ship back to amazon? A roll of tape is $2 and can tape 100 boxes and the "owner" said t costs her .70 cents and can't operate in the red. Lol. Let's be real here. If you can't calculate your net operating income based on expenses and think you operate in the red when you tape up a box, then you are definitely making it in the green by charging $1 per box that requires 12 inches of tape. Walked out of there and made sure she didn't over charge and lose the revenue in shipping. No wonder this place barely has 3 stars read more

I wouldn't recommend this place. I tired to return an Amazon package but had the worst experience ever!! I've been doing this for years. The guy there was so rude!! He was not happy that I didn't have my label printed even though I agreed to pay to have it printed. He kept on lecturing me about their policy. 5 stars for 5 cent black n white copies An extra star for 15% off when you do a yelp check in PROs: the manager, a older gentleman was very nice and approachable and gave good customer service CONs: the other associate who was a female was not as nice and when I asked a question about copy misprints she talked to me as if I was a child and that a 5 cent misprint was a huge loss for the business. I would have understood if she had a little different approach. I am not one to give a yelp review, but the customer service at this store is outstanding. I could not find my receipt for a package that did not make it to the intended location. Today I received the most efficient assistance from Ian. Not only did he find my tracking number from months ago, but he helped me by also contacting the offices and check to see where my package was. Ian called me back promptly two times and I was able to receive the information needed to locate my package. I really appreciated the service that seemed to go above and beyond what I was asking for, especially as I was in a tight bind. This is not the first time I have had great service at this store. I also visited this store another time in December and January when another gentleman was working. Unfortunately, I missed his name, but he had helped me with sending a package and also printing pictures. I was very grateful for the friendly, compassionate, and helpful attitude. read more

Really bad customer service, the manage white lady with curly hair is very mean. I went there to have a return and did not packed the item. She told me I need to go back to pack, I was ready to leave and she just said "wait,this is is small " and went to grab a small plastic thin bag to put my item in it. I thought, she is really nice , but I suddenly saw there was a tiny tag $3.99 and I wanted to asked her if she gonna charge for it and how much is it. That bag is too expensive for $3.99. And she just tear the bag and put my item in there so fast and did not even ask me if I want it! I have a lot of shipping bags at home and I don't need it! Then she told me oh you need to pay $4.35, I really did not want it. But she already use the bag! What can I say! I paid and told her that I wish you could tell me how much you gonna charge before you give to the customer. I did not ask her to do it! And I did not know what she was doing there! She just gave me a weird look and did not say anything! If she just simply say oh sorry we will pay attention next time, I will be fine. But she seems like it was all your fault! And she is the manager in this store ! No wonder this store is only two and half star! Never coming to this location again. Every single UPS I've ever been to has always asked me if I wanted a receipt, where I always say no. So to save time I mentioned that I didn't need a receipt and the woman (who now after I read other reviews I assume is the manager Dawn) snapped at me saying I needed to take a receipt or they wouldn't take my packages, like what? She said it was store policy, but no UPS has ever forced me to take a receipt before. Came to drop off three packages, two in bags and one in a box, and she refused to take the one in the box because "she didn't have room for it" ???? Very rarely do I experience a store visit and even consider a 1 star, but if there was a zero, I would give it one. I visited my usual location of choice in Concord, but their notary stopped at 430 so they recommended this location, stating they were pretty sure the notary there stopped at 530pm. Since it was 505pm at the time, I called to ensure that was accurate. The rude person answering the phone stated it was available until 630pm...of which I mentioned that I was told 530 by Concord. They curtly said something to the effect of "630" and hung up. I called back and asked if we got disconnected or if they hung up on me since I merely wanted to make sure I didn't drive there for nothing. Again, a hang up...no goodbye. Found it strange, a bit discourteous, but let it go. When I got there, recognizing the voice was the same as on the phone, I was stared at by the notary waiting for me to talk...no hello, no how can I help you, etc. Ok...still, I just figured there was simply no personality. I submitted the 3 documents I needed notarized and was asked if the address on the ID was current, I stated it wasn't and handed him the correct address that I keep on a small paper alongside of my ID. He stated, "Read it to me". Curtly, abruptly, and rudely without even looking up. Would he have made me read my driver's license if it had the right address? Finally, I'm about to turn 64, my hearing isn't what it was when I was younger and there were many people in the store and couldn't understand a question he asked near the end of the transaction...and he raised his rudeness game to a new level...and I finally responded with "Take it easy on me...I'm older, don't hear as well...and try to be a little more courteous". No response. Zero...as in the rating he deserves. So...just to be clear...I own a 14 store retail chain located in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Seattle, and here in the Bay Area. I understand something about customer service. There is that thing where if you use great service, a customer may tell someone. If they have a poor customer service experience, they may tell 100 people. In the social media world these days...they have the opportunity to tell thousands. I use a lot of notaries. I will not only never return here...but went back to the Concord UPS store I usually use to recount my experience so they understand what they are recommending. So I had a some items that I needed to return to amazon, which Amazon provides me the pre-paid shipping. Went into the store and I need a UPS pak or box so I can prepare my shipment, the lady over the counter told me that I need to buy the box because ups does not provide the supplies and they would lose a lot of money if they supply for them free... well I told her that fedex provides the supplies for free as long as you use their service. So I end up having to pay $3 for a box to ship my items back. I'm not upset about the money, but I'm upset because I checked the UPS website, and you can order the supplies for free. Zero star for lying to me and made me pay for something that UPS supplies for free just to make that extra transaction/quota. I don't think that's a smart move because you just lost a customer and don't expect me to do business at this location again. read more

This is one of the best UPS store in Pleasant hill, the staff is so helpful and especially store Owner Ritu. I recently shifted to Canada and have lot of stuff to ship , was very confused what and how to do ,at this point me and my spouse met Ritu in UPS, she explained us each and every detail about different routes using which we can ship and respective rates. After this we were confused regarding the custom duties that we have to pay for this I really appreciate the effort that Ritu took, she especially called so many people to get the correct information about the charges and rules which really helped us a lot. On the day of shipping she made sure that each and every detail in the shipment should be correct. When we reached Canada we were waiting for our stuff and one day suddenly got one email that we have to pay certain dollar to UPS ,as per the information we shouldn't be paying anything , we immediately called Ritu what need to be done , she gave us one email and told us to drop the email CC her, to solve this she made sure to follow up and got our charges reverted , she was always reachable and helpful. I would really recommend everyone to visit this store in case of any shipping services, they will make sure to help you in all possible ways. the staff is also very friendly and helpful. Strange experience at this location. Had something custom printed and they called me to pick it up. I went to the store to get it and they told me gave it to someone else. They told me the person who picked it up had my name. My name?! No one has my name, so I find that so hard to believe. I hate this place. I come here to drop off my UPS packages sometimes and I always get hassled because I didn't prepare my shipment with them. I have a corporate account with discounts, why the hell would I create an account with you? I can't even drop off my envelopes at the drop boxes if I set up my account with you. They try to make you feel guilty because you're not helping them. Guy behind the counter tells me, "Well if you don't prepare your shipments here, we don't really get paid so we have no incentive to deliver the package". No incentive???? You don't want my UPS packages? THEN DON'T CALL YOURSELF "THE UPS STORE"! Fast, friendly, and I browsed for birthday cards while I waited a couple of minutes for the poloroid type film to develop. I usually don't review but the gentlemen that helped me with the glasses was by far one of the rudest cashier I've ever met. I highly understand how the mailing system works and he tried to lie to me and claim I wasn't able to purchase a certify mail if I didn't get a return recipe. I've been there various times with no problem and this guy either had a bad day but he vented his anger towards me. On top of his rude behavior as he wanted me to fill out the certified mail form he walked off for about 5 minutes without mentioning he was leaving. And was upset of the request I made and his other co workers even stated that my request is in fact possible to do.
