UPS is a major disappointment. I happened to not have enough packing when making some returns. They charge $4.99 for a plastic bag. The same plastic bags that are FREE at FedEx. I only used UPS because the return label tequires mw too. I will NEVER use UPS unless I am forced to. Way to not be competitive AT ALL, UPS. Total waste of time. Get it together and provide better service. And if you must charge for plastic bags $4.99 is absolutely ridiculous. Extremely disappointing. read more

I brought in a package to be shipped, this woman asked me a few questions, I paid and it was eventually successfully delivered. But she was beyond unfriendly. I would never come back here. I have been coming here for years. Super friendly staff. The staff is efficient. I hardly ever need to wait in line. Most often my visits to this store are for Amazon returns. Well today the staff went above and beyond. I goofed up my bar codes for my Amazon returns and there were 3 staff members looking through boxes to locate my returns and fix the problem. I will no longer use this UPS store. Yesterday was the second time where I arrived, only for them to be closed. It was 9:30am Wednesday morning. Their window sign with hours clearly say they open at 8:30 (as well as their website). But all lights off and shop locked up. It's very inconvenient when you have a limited amount of time to get out and run errands, only to find them closed (during store hours!). OMG I am so beyond pissed. Went to set up a package delivery to my daughter in San Diego, and when they tried to deliver it, they said "adult signature required" HUH? I NEVER said any signature was required! Who filled out this form like that there?? Did the guy ever ask me??? Nope! Now she's going to have to go to some central UPS station in San Diego to pick up the package! Incompetent bafoons! And don't even THINK about calling UPS...they don't offer any help at all!! . UPDATE; Called the UPS store, and the CSR rep said "this is the customary practice for this location, not all others are like this" WHAT? Can you maybe inform your customers of this?? Used to be friendly and helpful service here. Now it's slow, and the employees are lazy and do as little as possible. Today the store wasn't open on time and the employee was not friendly at all. I thought I had an Amazon scan label for one of my packages but it was actually a print label. I asked if there was any way she could print it for me and she said no. I would be charged to print it myself. We used to bring about 15 to 20 packages here a month and she wouldn't help me print one label, after arriving 4 minutes before opening time and opening late! I can see from other reviewers that I'm not the only one experiencing poor service here. I emailed UPS Store website asking for the owner. I'm waiting to see if I get a reply. Amazing service. I went to return an Amazon package expecting to scan a QR code for the shipping label. But when I got to the store, I realized that I actually had to print the shipping label myself. Since it was the last day to return the item, I either had to pay to print the label at the store or not return my item on time. The worker saw my frustration and offered to print the shipping label for me at no extra cost and even prepared my package to be shipped. I must be spoiled at my other UPS Store in Martinez. I just happened to be in the area and needed to ship two things via UPS. This is the second UPS store I have ever been to. I'm donating a bag of dog food to a dog rescue down south and was shipping a bag of dog food. I put it on the counter and he took it and I said that I was shipping that and needed it boxed. At my favorite location they take the thing your shipping immediately over to the packaging station and package it for you. You can see them doing it, then they bring it over in the box to the counter and finish wringing you up. Usually they do that while your filling out your shipping order slip. He just stood there as I filled it out. I handed it over and he asked for my email. I said no, I don't want to put my email down. He said that that is the way to get my Tracking #. I said,"Why? Isn't the Tracking # on my receipt?" He said yes and that was that. Then another guy walks over and asks, "What is this, just dog food?" I told him yes that I was donating it. Then they took my order form and put it on top of the bag of food and walked to the back. I left never seeing them box it up or anything. I felt really uncomfortable shipping my stuff from there. Now I'm sitting at my desk and I look at my receipt and low and behold there is no Tracking # on my receipt. I called down there and asked them why there was no Tracking # on my receipt. He asks if I gave my email and I said no and that at other UPS Stores I never have to leave my email. (I keep all my receipts and looked at the ones from previous UPS Store visits and the Tracking #'s are on there) He tells me that the new owner doesn't want to do it that way anymore for some reason and that they want to email it. Note to owner: A. Put the Tracking Numbers on the Receipts. B. Package customers orders in front of them. They were going to get one star but the guy on the phone was actually honest and helpful. read more

All I do is drop off packages that are already set to be shipped, yet the girl who works here always gives me the impression that she doesn't want to help me. For example, the last time I came, I simply asked for a receipt. Initially, I thought she said no, especially because she continued to slowly go through the mail. And whatever she actually said to me, she sounded extremely irritated and annoyed that I was giving her work. There were no other customers in sight, and she was the only one working at the front desk. Seriously, if you're going to be hired for work, then you should expect to work. Besides, it's not like I was asking for a lot. I already had the package all set for delivery. She eventually printed my receipt, but jeez, the customer service needs to be improved. read more

To the owner: when hours are posted for when your business is open, it is usually beneficial to business to ACTUALLY be open. Waited around for 20 mins past 8:30 am for this UPS store to open. Witnessed 4 other customers drive up, try the door and then leave. Learned the other UPS store in town was open and happy to serve customers, so will be going there instead. read more

I will never come back to this UPS store again. I had a small box with a preprinted return label that I needed to drop off. The store was empty and the box only needed about 12" of tape to seal it up. They demanded $2.00 for the tape and the 5 seconds of time to seal the box. How greedy is that? I'll be using another UPS store in the future for my shipping needs. read more

It was my first time at this UPS location and I am really happy with the service provided. I had to return a parcel from Overstock.com and did not get the barcode printout. I thought it works same as the amazon returns, just scan the QR code. But Mr. Kumar informed that it is different. There was a $2 charge to get a printout from UPS but Mr. Kumar waived it and asked to carry a printout and tape the box next time to avoid any additional charges. Unprofessional attitude. staff doesn't provide information or faster shipping alternatives that would cost same if you were buying supplies etc. A 'funny' guy at the counter told me he'll charge me $2 for putting a small tape on a small opening on my shipment when I decided to not buy a overpriced $5 box from them (I assumed they provided box with service like fedex). Had an absolutely amazing experience here today! My family walked in trying to get three visas for India completed and mailed out. We needed three passport photos and two documents notarized for our sons by two of us. Mallori was on staff and she was awesome! She got our pictures taken quickly (even with 2 boys, 1 that would not smile and 1 that could not keep his eyes open). Also got my pictures taken. She helped us get our notarized documents completed as well. All the while, helping customers in between and handling deliveries to keep everything moving. All with a smile! We were super stressed as the visa process is a bit cumbersome and she was very patient as we sorted out packets for each child to get the right portions notarized. I would highly recommend using this shop. Service does not get much better! read more

I have been a customer from the previous ownership - at least 7 years now. While there has been uneven service in the past, thanks to some staff who could have cared more. That has really changed with Jhon and Baktash at the store. They are always friendly and welcoming and go the extra mile.The owner Sunil has always worked hard to satisfy all our needs - we use this spot for more than just our mail delivery and shipping. I normally don't need to visit a UPS store because can ship through my place of work, but a few times I've dropped off a pre-labeled package just to ensure that it gets shipped out properly, and the clerks have been very kind, even though I've not purchased anything. Today, the clerk went over and above the line of duty! I had a very special package to ship, but since it was going to Philadelphia, and there are serious shipping delays going on due to massive security in place for Pope Francis' visit, I wondered if the recipient zip code was impacted. The clerk immediately checked online, and not finding a definitive answer, she called UPS for me. The call took over 7 min. or so, as they had to put her on hold a bit to research, but she said she was happy to help! In the meantime she scanned the package and gave me a receipt, which was not required - again, I didn't purchase the waybill there as I had purchased it myself online from home! The other clerk was very personable and showed sincere concern for my shipping concerns! Please give them a try - some of the previous poor reviews are older so maybe some hands at this store have been changed. I was there at about 1pm (busy lunch time!) on Wednesday 9/23/15. read more

Wonderful experience here just now. I go back and forth between ups and fedex depending on cost and proximity to where I am. Had a quote from fedex to ship a box ground and thought it was a bit high so stopped by this ups store. The owner helped me and was super friendly and easy going. He should be a customer service trainer! He was so nice. Made my day really. It's amazing to me how friendly customer service is not as common as it once was. Anyway, the ups shipping was a bit more but guess what? The owner told me he would match the fedex price. Now I can't say that this is something that would always happen but since he explained that ups is franchise owned I thought that was super cool of him. I came here on a Monday night with a very special gift for a friends family- a handmade / hand painted Italian Flag Wine Barrel. Baktash and Jhon took such great care of me and my special gift. Baktash and Jhon made sure to package my gift for me and wrap it so that it was very cushioned and protected while in transit. It was a very special item that was being shipped as a Thanksgiving gift, and it arrived so quickly to the family and they loved it so much. Baktash and Jhon even made sure to put fragile stickers on it and they even let me put my thanksgiving cards to the family inside of the package.
