Often a busy store, but for a business that runs on "customer service", atleast one of the employees seem to not have the concept. She's often rude and treat people coming in like they're either dumb or wasting her time. For a store that runs within a "community", it sucks that it discourages you to return to support businesses like this. From my experience, the workers here aren't very helpful. I like the one in Hayward better. I find the staff off of Santa Clara (in Hayward) much friendlier. I went to my local UPS store to get a Live Scan so I could get back to my little one that was with a sitter. I needed the live scan for myself to reapply for a credential to teach elementary school. The owner made me wait in the back of the store for over 45 minutes to get my first life scan. She kept telling me to sit in this nasty chair and finally I reluctantly did and waited. I was so hot and said nothing. She told me a few times to not touch her computer, but never tried to help me. All this woman wants is money. But customer service doesn't apply to LiveScan customers. I had to go back that following day as I put a wrong SS number on there. The owner made me wait another 45 minutes in the heat to tell me that she could not help me. She just got louder and louder and refused to help me. She told me to do something and and I did it, but she cannot communicate so she got mad. I was yelled at and she would NOT listen to me as it's not a high enough profit for her to do LiveScan. She seems to only communicate to Middle Eastern, Indian and any culture that is her own or not Mexican. only one other Mexican came in during the hour and a half and she made him wait. This was heartbreaking as I am a California schoolteacher and just treated horribly by UPS manager and owner of this facility. Unfortunately, the Union City Police Department needed to resolve the dispute. Yes, she called the cops on me. She would not listen to what I did not understand and or read an email from my HR manager which is technically someone that works for the government. I explained all this, and she just became erratic that I was telling her that she was wrong on the information she had. Yes, my manager got wrong information and later corrected it, but we could have cleared everything up civility. At no time did this woman ever treat me with any customer service or helped me in anyway. She went out of her way to put me last as I am Mexican American. I saw numerous other cultures like Asian, African-American go in front of me over 12 times. That equaled up to the 45 minutes of wait time, me sweating and I put in the wrong Social Security number. Please do not go here. This is heartbreaking as a California schoolteacher can get treated so horribly by the public. Unfortunately, the only thing I can do it remember the pen is mightier than the sword phrase is the only defense I have as she caused this horrible disaster and never said sorry. I would've excepted a simply sorry and I would've paid again to get Live scan. I hope that maybe the community like Indians, Pakistani, Middle Eastern, Pacific Islanders and as far as Asia, Philippines, etc. Understand that this woman made a California schoolteacher wait over an hour and a half to get services when every single person went in front of me. As I have a family of my own, work to do for my classroom. I got a little to nothing done and I am behind for the California school year. I took a moment to put this yelp app in hopes that we can do a boycott of this facility. And maybe UPS can shut it down. I understand everyone is short of cash, and dropping Amazon boxes off is there a way to make extra income that's passive. That's great. But isn't your child's education worth more than a few dollars? Yes or no? This is what you said to me as you as her customers passed me by. I explained my situation to not only one customer, but several. It took a 12-year-old boy that goes to IVC in Union City to get out of his van while waiting for his mother and asked me if I was OK. It just goes to show that the students we teach are worth it. This woman and your time and your extra dollars is not worth the future of our children. This is not a nice person and I need support from this community. I hope that this 12-year-old boy grows up in this community and becomes one of our leaders. He is 100% the gentleman I want to raise as kind and sympathetic individual. I was also completely embarrassed to have the police involved as I was fortunate enough to receive the officer that came to my second grade classroom this past year to read a few books to them. I hope that I can post this picture here to remind this community that education and a 12 year old boy proves this community can back myself up in the educational school system. She needs to train other staff to do Live scan and not rely on one individual. She does not meet the qualifications of a nice, respectable, or capable of communicating to other. This community store needs to be dedicated to future as we all will die one day. Children are the future and one kid reminded me of that yesterday. UPS store manager insisted on knowing the contents of the package I was shipping. It was a child's watch, but I decided to press the matter. Fedex doesn't require this, the USPS doesn't requite this, UPS drop boxes don't require this, other UPS stores don't. Why this store? The woman said I was incapable of determining the value or hazardousness of my package. Nonsense. She claimed to be the manager, but when I asked her with whom to file a complaint, she said she didn't know, and walked off. I called ups to ship a very Important package 2 day delivery and I was quoted $151 and asked to drop my package to this location before 3 pm Thursday of last week. I arrived at the ups store at 1:58 pm and I placed my box on the counter the owner comes to help me and I told her I'm trying to send this package to Oregon 2 day air, she quoted $478 and when I told her I called ups and was quoted $151 she changed her demeanor and asked me to take my package of the counter and to do it on my own. I asked for tape measure and weight and she said she cannot let me borrow her tape measure or weight the box. Long story short my package was purposely placed in the back and not shipped out by 3 pm deadline. After package not arriving I called ups and they stated the reason was no numbers on the shipping address but on the receipt I received shows compete and exact address. Therefore this crazy lady not only made sore my package didn't arrive but she crossed out the numbers on the box as well. Now I'm facing a legal matter and I will be suing this location made a formal complaint to ups and they have agreed this was tampered with.. I'll be forwarding ups statement email to my attorney such an asshole person to do this. I will do everything in my power to shut them down btw I used ups for business over 150 times a month the only reason I hand delivers this a mage was such a important legal documents. Warning: The staff and the owner do not take accountability for their mistake. We needed a photo printed for a pre-school project. Inquired with a female staff whether we're able to print photos there. She answered yes and pointed to the machine nearby. We started to print the family photo, but couldn't see any output. The owner comes by and says that they do not print photos and that we would be charged the $2 minimum. He refused to take accountability for their mistake and said that we will be charged. As you could understand, it's not about the amount of money but the lack of accountability and integrity. I will no longer utilize their services and would advise others to be aware. --------- 9/7/19 I'm glad that the owner responded to my review. Now that he has indicated that he is aware that the staff provided misinformation, he's still not going to do anything about it. You can judge for yourself whether you would want to believe him over us, but the whole story painting us as rudely interrupting him is completely false.
