Have you ever met someone who wanted to be completely right but was all the way WRONG? Then you may have met the incompetent woman that works here. We came here for a SIMPLE notary but because she couldn't grasp that concept it took over 3 hours. 3 HOURS!!! On top of that, she took our stack of documents that were in numerical order, did her 'job', I suppose, with our paperwork but then returned it to us in complete disarray. And then had the actual audacity to argue us down that we did it. If that's not annoying enough, she then proceeded to try to take some silly attempt at a belittling jab at us but at this point, just give me my damn documents so I can leave. She was arrogant, argumentative, ignorant and all around has not a single dose of customer service. All she could do was direct her useless anger towards anyone trying to correct her. I wish this company nothing but the worst. Oh yeah, this is a major disgrace to UPS service. Because she couldn't complete her notary job in less than 3 hours she then proceeded to hold up the UPS delivery driver because she wanted to play around with important documents, she wanted to create issues where there were none and essentially just wanted to have things her way as if this were a Burger King and she was the customer. Do yourself a favor and never patronize this place or any other UPS, for that matter. Look up other notary companies in the area because they are out here and won't insult your intelligence while making you wait for 3 HOURS. read more

The owner/manager is dishonest and does not take accountability for the mistakes of his staff. I strongly advise to pick another store, because if anything goes wrong they will not accept responsibly and you will be left to dry... I came in with my daughter to print one photograph. Before sitting down at the machine, I asked the employee at the counter if they print photos, and she said yes. You have to swipe your credit card before using the machine, so I did. It states there is a $2 minimum charge which I was happy to accept despite needing just one photo. However as I got ready to print the picture, I could not see where the photo came out from. So I asked the owner, and he informed me they do not print photos. Not only was I given inaccurate information, when I asked for a refund he refused. He insisted that I paid for "time on the machine", but would not concede that I only spent "time on the machine" because his staff mislead me about what services they actually provide. He finished our conversation with: "I'm the owner. You're not getting a refund". This post is clearly about the principle of providing honest service and taking responsibility for your organization. We all spend more than $2 on coffee every morning. But if you ehave something big or important to take care of, go somewhere that values and practices integrity, especially at the leadership level. 9/7/19: After reading the owner's reply to my post, this is precisely what I mean by dishonest and no accountability. If the staff misunderstood my question, taking accountability means at minimum to offer an apology to the customer for the confusion instead of trying to bully people around by proclaiming you are the owner. I have been a box holder for several years and have had nothing but great service and help from the kind and professional employees that work there. Don't bring next-day packages here. I had an eBay customer pay for next-day air. Everything was ready to and perfectly packed; I've been doing this on eBay and in my own business for decades. I brought the package to this location and after waiting in line a bit, dropped it off at 10:55 am. This was on December 7, so it was decently busy, no worries. I figured everything was fine. It was not. The next day, I checked to see if the package had been delivered. Nope. In fact, the next UPS scan after my drop-off was at 10:30 that night in Hayward, well past any outgoing service for the day. Next-day turned into 2-day. What followed was a long series of run-around from UPS to this day. They won't refund anything because "the package was delivered". They don't care how long it took, even when I paid over $80 for a specific service that they simply did not do. I ended up having to refund my customer the difference between next-day and 2-day, $43. So ultimately, trusting this location for next-day cost me $43 and I have zero recourse except sharing my experience here. Don't make the same mistake. Now I'm saddened to see that this location changed hands on December 1, and I'm wondering if this is the result. They've usually been very nice and competent in the past. I hope they can turn this around. Edit after 'owner' replied: 1. It wasn't an inconvenience. It was money. You cost me money. 2. The package didn't leave your location until 10:30 at night. That was the problem. I watched the clerk put that particular box on a special pile in the backroom, where it was apparently forgotten, as my other Ground package went out that day with no issues. 3. Once the package did get to UPS a day late, it actually was delivered the next day, making your guarantee assertion irrelevant. You have a funny little collection of excuses you are dropping on all of these low-star reviews. Maybe you think you're going to school customers into toeing the line? Just went in to drop off a package, one lady was extremely rude to her coworker in front of everyone. Then, as I was checking out, I asked if they possibly had a tissue because my nose was running. The woman didn't even respond to me. I had to ask again and she turned, said no and walked away. Come on, you know they have a tissue somewhere. If that was me, I would have gotten a tissue from my purse if there wasn't one in the store. I drop off about 5 to 10 packages a month and have spent a lot of money on shipping there. Not any more. Customer service is the key to success. The owner might want to make sure the employees know that! In this case I'd say common decency has gone out the door. Had to use my coat sleeve. Warning: If you need a Live Scan fingerprinting done correctly in order to get clearance to start a new job ASAP... DO NOT COME HERE!!! My husband needed to get both the California and FBI background clearance done in order to start his new job. It has been 3 weeks and the FBI status still says "In Progress". We inquired and were told that most likely the information sent by UPS had inaccuracies, thus causing the delay. He had recently done a Live Scan for a different request at a different Live Scan provider and it was cleared within 48 hours. So he went back to the other place and guess what? CLEARED in under 48 hours. So we've lost 3 weeks worth of income due to the delay. I DO NOT RECOMMEND coming here for fingerprinting if it is time sensitive! read more

Had a great experience with this UPS when my family went in for passport pictures. They were friendly and very professional, and got our pictures done very quickly. They were also helpful with making sure we had the right documents for the country we were visiting (New Zealand). Overall they were great! read more

I come to this store frequently. Always great service. I try to come during less busy hours (10-11:30 usually) but even the busy hours I have gotten decent service. I usually come here for Amazon returns but I have been here for other services too such as printing, notary, and passport photos. All staff members are great. I have had many interactions with Neelema and she is always so nice. For passport photo, I came here with two little ones and Aster ( Ester? Not sure of correct spelling) was very patient with them. It took several tries but we got the photos nicely done. read more

I was at the UPS store #3145 on June 3rd and first want to clarify what happened from an unbiased, factual point of view as someone who stood in line and overheard the situation. Neelema was one of the staff members who was working there. The customer had forgotten to wear a mask, so she reminded him regarding the mask mandate. She continued to serve him nonetheless. When she saw that the customer's package wasn't sealed according to the UPS guidelines, she referred him to the instructions and explained how to handle it, including taping. The customer said he didn't have tape but later found some, to which she asked if he got from the store. The customer asked if she was accusing him of stealing, and he started filming Neelema and narrating that she was refusing him service due to racial discrimination. To add my two cents, based on what I observed of the situation, Neelema was only informing him of the policies that he and everyone else had to follow without any presence of prejudice. read more

ffs can y'all work on your customer service, please? this one lady here (middle-aged hispanic or black woman) was being so unprofessional and giving me hella attitude. I went in to drop off a usps package and a ups package and I needed a receipt for both. I had a qr code for them to print out the ups label. I was trying to tell her that the label needs to go on the obviously blank box (which the usps package was on top of) but what does she do? she puts it on the usps package, which already has a label on it. I pointed out her mistake and she started getting all flustered at me, and called me "deaf" under her breath. now I remember why I don't go here. looking back at past reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one with this experience. get it together ups. read more

I had very interesting story to share with UPS lovers. I shipped 28th Jun 2021 one cable network equipment back to company but for some reason I forget to put return shipping label. I dropped the box and they scanned the old label which was my address. I took the shipping receipt and put into my car glove box. Today 29th July I received a call from Cable network company that I did not shipped them equipment. I gave them tracking number and they told me that tracking number is for sending new equipment to my address. Long story short I went to UPS at Alvarado Blvd, Union City CA. The store employees were very courteous , respectful and helpful. They went extra step and help me out to find that box and shipped out same day. Came to this location for visa photos for a trip to New Zealand. Our experience was very quick, easy, and relaxed. The photos were all done within five minutes, and everyone at the store was very friendly. They even recommended good coffee shops nearby for us to continue our Sunday. Would definitely recommend this place for getting these types of tasks done! read more

I used this store for years but it is under new ownership. They won't let you make your own copies and would not be able to make the copies I wanted until, maybe, another person showed up in 1/2 an hour. I went directly to the Union Landing FedEx and they are wonderful. Used Apple Pay to start the copier with no problems. I will go to FedEx and will no longer go to this closet UPS store. I drafted this months ago and it is just as bad today, not unlike other reviews. Today I showed up to get a package UPS had said they delivered. The person said they might not have catalogued it yet. Fortunately I found my box. Boxes were piled around the customers making it easy to grab a package and leave. I will never go to this UPS store again. read more

The woman who runs this store can't be trusted. I went to this UPS store to send a fax. The fax didn't got through. The woman who runs the store said she had to charge me because the fax was going to try 2 more times. I thought that was bogus because I've never been asked to pay before the fax went through at any other UPS store, but I went ahead and paid. I waited for the second attempt but couldn't stick around for the third because I had to pick my cat up from the vet. I asked her to cancel the last attempt. She said she couldn't. She said she'd take my number and let me know if it didn't go through and refund my $ to my credit card. Three days later, she hadn't refunded the $ (the fax wasn't received on the other end, so I know it didn't go thru). So I called and she said had two receipts for faxes and she wasn't sure which was mine and that's why she hadn't refunded my $. But she had my ph#, and she said she would call. I think she was counting on me forgetting. Anyway she promised again to refund my money. I waited three more days for her to do so. She still didn't refund it. It may not seem like a big deal, but when you're just getting by, it's sucks to lose $10 here and there. Plus it just feels shitty when people try to take advantage. So moral of the story is, don't use this UPS store if you don't have to. Use the UPS store in Newark by Sprouts. I've always gotten amazing service there. read more
