As I arrived at this UPS store just 30 minutes before closing time, I was relieved to see that there was just one customer, and she was being helped by the agent. But it didn't take long for me to gather that the agent was absolutely flummoxed by the task at hand as he squinted at the monitor, typed something, and stared again at the screen as though something incomprehensible was on it. This went on for a good 15 to 20 minutes, until behind me a fairly long line had formed. It would have been longer still had some people not bailed. Others poked their heads in, and declined to come in. In exasperation I asked if he thought the transaction would take the rest of the day. He said it could; that it was an international shipment--as though this were some kind of exotic affair. Finally, someone with more experience and more than a whiff of training emerged from the back and told the agent that what he was trying to do, could not be done because it required a physical stamp. I got the distinct impression that this was "international shipment 101". So they sent the customer off to the post office (which was now closed). Before she left she told the manager that she had been there for a whole HOUR! She was NOT happy. I have never had a bad experience with this UPS, but this one certainly severely depresses my average satisfaction level all because of one supremely inept employee. This place runs a scam. The only way to print is to pay money upfront and the pic is slow and fails to recognize the device. They then said they can't print through my USB and charged me 3 dollars just to tell me. The man then rudely refused to refund the money telling me it's "their system" I will be asking my cc company to reverse the charges and reporting this location for this scam. BEWARE read more

UPS will never ship anything of mine again. FedEx is who I use. 3weeks after a package was sent(and still not delivered) I called to check up and found out it was enroute to DC! When I asked why the response was wrong address, which I realized I forgot the apt#. My argument is that I purchased a $100 service, why not try to contact me for additional info before sending it back? They asked for my contact info when I sent it, what was the need? Anyway, Now my stuff is in DC, I am on the west coast and they are saying that I have to purchase another $70 shipping cost to get my stuff here!!! All the while customer service has sucked, some lady in Tony Stefinich's office (the only person who could help me apparantly) literally hung up on me within 2 min of our conversation. How rude!!! The staff here - a girl and a guy for whom I can't remember names - are stellar! They 've accomodated me late in the evenings, they go above and beyond to help me out with any shipping need that I have and they do it all with the most pleasant attitude! They are stellar! This is a notably well-run UPS store! They are always pleasant and efficient and on more than one occasion have gone above and beyond to help me with complicated shipment issues. The manager seems to really have this place down to a science and hires good folks for his team. I feel loyalty to this UPS location they way I would to a good bartender. I dropped off a USPS package here, and they say they'll transfer it to the Postal Service. It never got transferred. Unreliable. Given that there's other reviews stating the same problem, I suspect the employees are stealing the packages. read more

My fiancé and I went here to have addresses printed on 130 envelopes for our wedding invitations - we didn't want to use sticky labels or do them by hand. We had formatted the addresses to fit our envelopes through mail merge and just needed them printed from our PDF, but the FedEx down the street said they could only print envelopes at certain locations, with a minimum order of 500! The associates at the UPS store took them right away, and had them done by the next morning. They look great, and for a very reasonable price. Thanks UPS! read more

I have been to this UPS Store many times to get my printing done and sometimes for shipping also and always found them to be very reasonable and professional unlike the Fedex on the main road. I have been in this store 3 times. the first time, the lady asked me if i was Salvadorian, like that has something to do with shipment. When i said No and asked her where she came from she said Mexico with an arrogant tone like that makes her more special that everyone else. The second time, the same lady came from the back, she acted like she was annoyed by me. I gave her the package and then she threw the receipt on the counter. She didn't even allow me to say thank you because in a second she was already walking back to the back of the store. the third time, a guy asked if i was dropping something off even though he saw that i had a package in my hand. The location had someone in front of me and he still took my package first. The customer was a lady. I am gentleman who like to practice chivalry, but he didn't allow me to. Then i said something just making a comment and the guy said in front of the other customer: you just needed to say yes. I told him respectfully: Sir you don't need to give me lessons and he reply: saying yes is all you needed to do and once again as the lady did before he just walked away. if you need to return a package i recommend you to use a different UPS store. I live very close to the store, but for sure next time i need to return something i will go to a different UPS store because The customer service here is terrible. read more

Beware: If you need a package taped up, apparently they will tell you that they cant do it in front of you and end up forgetting to do it. After inquiring, the representative tells me that the manager tells employees to say that. Not sure why that's a policy. read more

I would give this store 0 stars if I could. This is the cheapest UPS store I have ever been to -- and its clear that they are just trying to make a buck wherever they can. Go to a post office if you can! This store charges for every piece of tape to close a box and does not provide any regular UPS boxes (one of the reasons that most people would even use a UPS store instead of regular postal mail). So, you have to buy a box and tape -- which may actually be cheaper than shipping the box. read more

Great location and excellent business hours. I dropped off a package on my way to the metro at 8:32 AM this morning. It took me less than 2 minutes to do everything and get out the door. Having a UPS Store within walking distance and with such friendly hours is great! Beats walking over to the crappy post office on Georgia Ave. which has the least friendly hours and a terrible location. If I want to send a package through USPS on Georgia, I'd have to take off of work for an hour in the morning (opens at 9am) or leave work 2 hours early (closes at 4 pm) since they have NO weekend hours. read more

They won't let you pick up packages here. Frustrating, because the UPS drivers tend to leave packages street-side instead of bringing the packages into the lobby (resulting in several stolen birthday gifts). Have to drive out to Laurel or something to pick up packages if you don't want them stolen. This is why I just use Fedex instead-- right around the corner! read more

This Columbia Heights UPS store does have associates who care about seeing and servicing the customers in a quick and reasonable amount of time. The waiting time was short the day I was at this location and one of the associates seemed genuinely concerned about a notary question that was raised. read more

I went in here on a Monday evening to get a document notarized, and I was out of there in 5 minutes. Great, easy experience. Only costs $2 per signature so it was a steal. The only waiting I had to do was in line because there were so many customers, but that's not a bad thing! Will definitely come back if I need something shipped/notarized/whatever. read more

The slogan, "we're here to help" definitely does not apply to this place. After I paid to have my UPS pkg dropped at this UPS store (very close to my home), received an confirmation email stating that the pkg had both been delivered to and signed for by an employee at this UPS store, the next morning I happily popped in to pick up my pkg. I was told when I arrived that my package wasn't there, and that maybe they really hadn't gotten it and that maybe I should come back later. When I asked them please explain where my pkg could be-showing them the email confirmation, he said I don't know what to tell you, its not here. I called the UPS number while at the store and learned the store received the package the morning before, but then the store gave the package back to UPS the same evening!!! The 1800 UPS customer rep promised to track it down and have it re-delivered. Please note that it was the 1800# customer rep helping me, not the employee standing in front of me at the UPS store. I wanted to have my package redelivered somewhere else but to no avail so I had to return to this rude and inept environment to pick up my package the next day! Don't go to this store, the guy who waited on me claimed he was the owner, which makes his actions 100 times worse! read more
