The biryanis here are the most tasteful, with the perfect amount of flavor in each layer - and yes there are 3-4 veg biryani options (don't let them chicken biryani folks tell you that veg biryani is pulav). We went for the buffet and had an overall good experience, though it got off to a rough start. I had a reservation but arrived about 15 minutes late, which was completely my fault. I apologized, but one of the staff members called it out loudly in front of the other waiting customers, which felt a bit embarrassing. I believe the situation could have been handled more professionally and privately. Better staff training for situations like this would improve the customer experience. That said, the food itself was absolutely amazing. The buffet had a very large vegetarian selection with plenty of variety, and everything we tried was delicious. The service was a little slow initially when it came to bringing fresh bread (naan, etc.), refilling buffet items, and clearing soiled dishes from the table. Service was awesome, our server was very nice and always joking with us. He came frequently to clear our finished plates and bring us more naan without us asking. The spice level was well balanced; my mouth wasn't on fire, allowing me to enjoy every dish. We definitely had leftovers since we ordered quite a bit, but we wanted to have options and try a variety of items. My favs were the appetizers and the gongura goat biryani! The goat was tender and didn't have the gamey taste, which is a plus for me. The service was great! The waiter was very attentive and even helped me arrange the food items for photos. It seems they may have recently renovated the interior and possibly changed ownership, as they appear to be working on getting their name out there. Looks like the serve yourself buffets are making a comeback! This place has the buffet every day for lunch and their GRAND dinner buffet on Friday/Saturday/Sundays. We tried a bit of everything, but the curries and little samosas were my favorite! Most of the dishes have a nice spice level, but it was so good, I couldn't stop eating no matter how much my mouth was on fire lol. There was very limited selection. Dal and paneer dishes were very spicy. The biriyanis looked and tasted stale. White rice was dry. Desserts were okay. Whenever I'm in Sunnyvale, I always stop into this Nirvana of Biryani. You won't find another restaurant that features this many biryanis at one time, in the same buffet. The place is poppin' with loads of native Indian foodies, which is always a good sign when you're undecided on a new place. As a customer not of East Indian descent, I HIGHLY recommend you try Urban Grill's Lunch Buffet. I've tried many Indian buffets in the South Bay Area, and have discovered Urban Grill to be the best. The buffet line has a vast selection of items. The lunch buffet PRICE is better than all the other Indian restaurants I have eaten at. The nan is hot, fresh and comes right off the grill! The staff provides excellent service and the manager is always on-site as he is a "hands on" manager tending to the needs of the customers. I like that the lunch buffet is open until 3pm so no one is rushed to finish their lunch before the restaurant begins to prepare for the dinner meal. The inside is clean and inviting. The location is easy to get to, right off Lawrence Expy and Central Expy, with plenty of parking. Try it and see for yourself! read more

Post the pandemic it seemed like buffets wouldn't make a comeback. And while that has not been true, most buffet places now are actually on the higher price point. Most places except this one. I mean how do you get so many choices, all freshly made, all flavorful, non greasy, with naan brought to the table made to order, and two desserts. Oh and chai.All for an unbelievable $14.99 plus tax! Guys I mean come on. Everything I tried was flavorful and distinct in taste. Indo Chinese items like chilly chicken, starters like Spinach pakoras were so good. Extra points for an ultra flavorful green chutney and thick yogurt sauce (raita). It would be hard to describe each item because there were so many, but the butter chicken, chicken biryani, methi aloo were all super delish. Unlimited Chai was nice, but the desserts itself weren't life changing. Although I appreciated that they had a not too sweet sevaiya kheer because I swear if I have to look at one more uninspired rice kheer bowl at Indian restaurants. The dining space and buffet stations were clean and well organized. And staff was replenishing the food non stop. Their location and good food probably keeps them busy, and the kitchen and staff seem to keep up with the demand. The restrooms need to be cleaner, but they have two so there's a good chance you will find atleast one that's clean. Management is doing something right with this place. We saw pretty good reviews and decided to try it out. This is actually a place for parties. Ie. They have 3 separate halls of different sizes which can be booked for wedding/reception/birthdays. Idea is - you can get the food from this place. The main area for restaurant is open and large - with the ability to rearrange in any shape and form as needed. That is very cool idea. So highly recommended for such get togethers. The restaurant itself serves food to those who come just for dinner. (Owner said lunch buffet everyday has large variety and we will visit it soon to check it out) Actual food dishes we got : paneer capsicum and dal makhani was really good. Loved it. Chicken gravy was good but didn't fell like chicken pieces were cooked in it as flavors had not penetrated in chicken pieces. Came by for lunch 2/28 and checked the chicken. Guess what? IT WAS UNDERCOOKED - AGAIN. I can't even. Pointed it out the first time and was contacted by the owner due to this post. At this point, it's just incompetence to correct a very straightforward issue. I messaged the business about it being undercooked again and the owner wanted me to meet with his staff. I showed the piece as well as a second piece I picked up moments earlier with the same result. Nearly wordless, he takes my plate and I see him discussing things with two other people. We finished up and went to pay the check. The first time it happened, I paid full. The bill was charged for our party of 6 and this time, I just felt like as a business the owner had to have done something for this ridiculous issue - no, not a single accommodation for their screwup. I sarcastically referenced having been served undercooked chicken twice means nothing, but he doesn't understand what I meant. I message the same to the business and a message was relayed to discount our check 20%... but also had to pay a required 18% tip. Thank you sook much. Take my money. This is hands-down one of the best Indian buffets I've been to in the south bay, with the most reasonable price for lunch ($17 per person on weekdays). The only issue was the lukewarm temperature of the hot items. If they fix this issue, it'd be stellar five star. Everything tasted delicious! A delightful surprise was the Naan they served to each table was freshly made, crispy and garlicky. I've never liked naan as much as I liked the one in here. Other places usually serve it old, soft and stale. I sampled almost everything in hot items. My favorites were the various vegetable curries, samosa, curry goat, butter paneer and tandoori chicken. However, they used chicken breast in butter chicken which made it hard in texture, not tender. I've had this item better elsewhere. The curry sauces on top of my selected salad was a unique gastronomic experience. My taste buds were happily enruptured! Four types biryani rice. I took a bit of paneer biryani to try. It was flavorful and lightly aromatic. Three types of desserts. Carrot Halwa, Gulab Jamun, and Mango Lassi, served by disposable paper bowls and cups. Gulab Jamun (Indian milk donut), my fav., was divine! Mango Lassi tasted yummy with pieces of coconuts(?) mixing in, it was different than the usual one I've had and I loved it. Carrot Halwa was too sweet but served its purpose to offset the spiciness and complete a meal with sweet note. Very friendly, attentive, and helpful service. Asked for refill of Lassi on buffet table, staff had it ready fast. Owner expressed gratitude at counter. Spacious, modern, clean and bright. Comfortable and peaceful vibe. Motley interior elements from huge screen panels broadcasting sport events to soft elegant chiffon ceiling draping for celebratory events, along with a well stocked and decorated bar, ooze subtle exuberance. Really disappointed with this visit. The food quality and taste have gone way down since the last time I was here. None of the non-veg curries or biryanis tasted good, and the Chicken 65 didn't even taste like Chicken 65--it wasn't fried properly and felt undercooked and applied color. Plus, it was the only non-veg appetizer on the buffet. The only things I actually enjoyed were the naan and the tea. Everything else was a letdown, especially with the price being higher now. Went for a work related team lunch today. Food - The variety of the buffet was awesome. They had everything in options for both vegetarians and non Vegetarian. They kept refilling till they were almost ready to close Service - we were a group of 20+ and they checked in often to fill water jugs, bread baskets and take away the used plates Ambience - unlike many other buffet places, they had decent space to walk to the buffet and move around to get food, even though it was crowded and full for a Sunday afternoon. Visited for lunch on a Saturday. The place was buzzing with buffet diners but we were cheerfully told that the restaurant also has a menu to order from which we preferred that day. Our order of daal makhani, paneer lababdaar, roomali roti and chai came out pretty quickly, was piping hot and delicious. The menu itself is primarily North Indian and has an extensive biryani section. We look forward to trying other items on the menu in the future. The place itself is a large hall with basic furniture.
