Stopped by The Varsity in Norcross and got the 2 chili dog combo. Overall, it was alright. The chili dogs were what you'd expect--nothing amazing, but decent if you're in the mood. Service was quick and the food came out hot, which I appreciated. Not a place I'd go out of my way for, but fine for a quick, meal.

Stopped here when I was nearby for a funeral. I was born in Atlanta and went to the downtown location as a child. It was one of the few things I would eat back then...always a burger and the orange frost. After moving away, whenever I was anywhere close, I would stop in. As an adult, my favorite is the chili hot dog. Still like the burger. This was the first time in this location. There was plenty of parking and the dining area was clean. It was not a busy time so no problem with service and received the food quickly. It was hot and fresh. The decor is similar to the other location but nicer as it is much newer. Love the famous " what ya have" on the window. I will return if I am ever in the area again.

I have always loved the varsity especially growing up in the city and being an ATLien. My favorite has been this meal here. Two naked dogs and a frosted orange (minus my onion rings which I totally forgot until just now lol. It's a staple and I was shocked to see it in Gwinnett but I gave it a try on one of my breaks. Absolutely amazing as I always remembered it to be. I cannot forget the welcoming smiles and faces ss I walked inside and was asked the famous "WHAT'LL YOU HAVEEEE?" I Stan the varsity! The place was clean, and well sized. Not too cluttered or compact and had an array of tables and tvs to dine and enjoy some entertainment as well. Now that I know where it is I'll be back for more! Thanks varsity!!

I tried The Varsity after many recommendations I've received. I really wanted to like this restaurant, however they have a lot of room for improvement. This specific location was easy to find. There is a drive thru or you can park and go inside to eat. I ordered the cheese burger, fries, and a hot dog. All of which were not good. The quality of the burger looked concerning to me. The fries were very soggy and did not seem fresh. I don't have much to say about the hot dog as I could not finish it. The service was okay as I just ordered in the drive thru.

Have not had varsity in a minute so I stepped in this location today for lunch ,first time here and I enjoyed every bite

If you're planning to visit any location of The Varsity, let it be this one. It is always quiet, empty, and clean! As someone who grew up near the Midtown location, Norcross is worth the drive. The food and service is just as good (if not better!) and you get to skip out on the utter chaos that is the tourist trap!

I'm not feeling it , i gave it a try because it's on the way from my daughters daycare so i decided to try it out . I heard about this place a few times but people talked about the food truck more , any who i went yesterday after getting my baby from daycare i stopped in by the drive thru to order an i only wanted a few things to try one was the BLT sandwich, chicken nuggets and fries which all were sold separately the BLT didn't have a combo Anywho the sandwich was toasted bread with a lot of lettuce two pieces of tomato and maybe 2-3 pieces of bacon. The fries i ordered on the side where so greasy and they never gave me the nuggets i asked for which i didn't see until i made it home oh well the only good thing was the sweet tea it was just right like i like it .

The burger is quite substantial, with a 7-ounce patty and a generous side. I left completely full, and the entire meal was only about $15. These days, that's a great price for lunch, especially considering both the quality and amount of food. More importantly, the burger was absolutely delicious. It came on a fantastic brioche bun that was perfectly toasted, and all of the toppings tasted fresh. I especially appreciated the little details. The green leaf lettuce was crisp, the onion was sliced very thin so that it complemented the burger without overpowering it, and the tomato was fresh and juicy. Everything worked together really well. The burger patty itself was the highlight. It was lightly seasoned and relatively thin for a 7-ounce patty, with a slightly crispy exterior that reminded me of a smashburger. Getting that kind of crust on a patty this size is unusual, but they pulled it off beautifully. It added great texture and flavor while the burger remained substantial and filling. Overall, this was a fantastic burger at a great value. Anytime I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back.

It was so good that I ended up going back on another day, about a week later. It was relatively quiet for a weekday lunch hour if you want to compare to other places that are open for lunch hour. That meant to me that the chef who is also the owner probably could spend more time to prepare the dishes ordered. I ordered the fried Oysters Po'Boy with fries and an iced tea. Didn't take too long for the meal to come out. I cut the Po'Boy in half and the Oysters were large. The bread was nice and soft, not hard and crunchy like bread can be for a Po'Boy. Fries were nicely done, not too crisp but not soggy and greasy. Had seasoning sprinkled on them, but not overwhelming. Just right. After I finished my sandwich, I was wondering about dessert and just as I was going to ask, my waiter, Chris came up to the table with the choices of dessert. I wanted something light, so I picked the chocolate pie. It was a good sized piece that came with some whipped cream on the side garnished with a strawberry. Nice and creamy and not overly sweet. Hit the spot! I will be back again because it's got a nice cozy homestyle atmosphere. May have to try the weekend brunch.

After a few visits, I've tried a good variety of the menu: * **Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich:** This is served open-face and uses a mix of Sichuan and Calabrian chili. It is absolutely amazing, but fair warning: it is *hot*. Even if you're used to Sichuan spice, this one may still be tough to deal with, but it's still incredibly flavorful and enjoyable. Just keep in mind that they don't adjust the heat level for this one. * **The Greens:** These are wonderful. They have a rich, savory pork flavor and are easily a must-order for me every single time. * **Shrimp and Grits:** This has a fantastic sauce that strikes the perfect balance--not too heavy, but not watery either. My only minor wish is that they'd add some andouille sausage to it (even if raised the price), but it's still a really well-executed dish. * **Southern Pho:** Really great and super hearty. It's a comforting bowl, though probably best enjoyed during the winter months. * **Drinks:** The cocktails are always creative and well-made, and they keep a really interesting beer list on hand too. ### 2. The Ambience The vibe here is great. The interior feels like a charming, cozy little house you'd find in Savannah. I especially love the bar area, which has these really cool copper chandelier lights that give the space a warm, inviting glow. ### 3. The Service The staff has been consistently friendly and welcoming every single time I've been here. The Summary I honestly feel lucky to live close to this place. It doesn't get much love or mentions from the Atlanta social media crowd and local press (the good news is you won't encounter a lot of annoying people lol).. I'm a fan though.

Must get dish - bucatini is perfectly al dente & the spicy sauce was very flavorful. Jumbo shrimp was delicious, and the anchovy on top left a nice strong flavor.
