If you have a special night out, are visiting Temecula or are in search of a classier establishment in Temecula for your night out - Pick the Old Town Blues Club. If "classy" is your key word - Thank me later! This club has a slightly more exclusive feel without the velvet rope snobbery. It's not about the beautiful people. It's ALL about those who really, really love music. I don't know what's happening in Old Town, but it used to be a place where you could go for fantastic restaurants, great live music and a fun night of dancing and people-watching. All that changed when every place started going to DJ music. It's now becoming known for bar fights and the police having to be on every corner. However, this owner provides an alternative to THAT scene. He truly LOVES his community, the local music scene and puts live music at the forefront of his establishment. He treats the bands well, invests in great sound equipment and is working on perfecting the experience for both musicians and guests. From the lighting, the neon sign which tells you that you're in a real deal blues club, to the artwork on the walls...It's all about the experience here. Other local venue owners should take note. The staff is phenomenal (Dylan, Dave, Mike, McKeevin...and those whose names I haven't learned yet - They're all great!). Reading some reviews, apparently this upsets people looking to get drunk, obnoxious and crazy because the staff keeps the room in check and asks for dancing to be away from the front of the stage area so as not to block the view of other guests, not to make a mess dancing with drinks in their hand, pick fights, pester the musicians unnecessarily, and other pretty common sense stuff. Then again, I guess common sense isn't so common these days. If you're looking to get mind-blowingly drunk and crazy, this might not be your place. It's ALL about the music here and there's a wide variety to choose from for different nights - Blues, rock, originals and covers. The music runs the gamut and there's something for everyone (No guys, even The House of Blues doesn't even play blues every night). If your idea of a great night is dinner in Old Town then walking over for some killer music, sipping some vino either in an intimate blues bar setting or people-watching from the deck overlooking the main drag of Temecula - It's the place to be! This place is about music. Went in for a glass of wine on Friday 10/14. Don't know the two bands names. Band 1 - blues trio, think ZZ Top or SRV. They only had time to play six or so songs. They opened up with Statesboro Blues by Blind Willie Mctell, and ended with Crossroads by Robert Johnson. But they were channeling Duane Allman and Cream. Very nice. The second band. Rhythm soul, big ass organ/piano, cool rhythm section, and the lead singer, well, he brings it. My bad for not getting the bands names. read more

Never met a more rude owner than the owner of old town blues. Had some friends in the place and my wife and I went to go say hi. Left my wife with the bouncer as there was a five dollar cover for karaoke of all things. I just wanted to get in touch with my friends versus texting which they might not see, the owner came at me like I was trying to rob the place because I did not pay the entrance fee. We had a venue that we were going to in 30 minutes so there was no way I was going to pay a cover for 30 minutes of entertainment But would've been willing to buy a cocktail for us and my friends. After almost physically getting accosted by this owner, my wife just took off and grabbed a cocktail at 1909. Much better place anyways. read more

I guess this place was fun. Very empty the weekend night that we went I believe was a Saturday night. The band was good. A bit corny, but very good at their musical instruments and bringing back the Classics. Beverages are fair selection I asked for my IPA and they were out. They're going to get you at the door which I understand which helps pay for the band. Overall, I give it a four stars not too shabby more of a local hang out for those who can drink a six pack, get in their car and drive away. read more

Went to OTBC Yesterday, heard music while walking around. Thought we would go enjoy music. Have a drink snacks, sit etc. Walk up there is security letting us know there is a $5 cover charge each person ok no problem, band has to be paid. We were not told people can smoke on patio! Ugh No waitress you have to go inside to order your food yourself. Waitress we encountered not very good Customer Service oriented. I get it your in a loud environment cant hear, wearing a mask. I asked her for a pen and paper. People come out on patio asking for tips. Isnt that what cover charge is for. RUDE Food waaaaay overpriced and not that great. Never again will we go. The Old Town Blues Club is the best place to visit in Temecula for music. The club offers a variety of great music in an intimate venue right in the middle of Old Town Temecula. I enjoy all the tribute bands and the other great bands Andy brings in. The bar now sells a variety of alcoholic drinks in a can along with beer and some nice wines. There is a relaxing open air patio outside that sits above the road where you can watch the outdoor monitors of the bands and the people and cars go by. If you're hungry you can have food delivered from a local restaurant while your there. A great place to hear some awesome bands play. read more

They even have early bands on Fridays starting at 4:30 for those who prefer calling it a night earlier, and then another band starts up at 9 for the nite owls. What a great local hangout. We walked down after dinner with a group of 12 and had the best time. Great ambiance, locals and us newbies. Everyone was having a rocking time. Fast bartender, owner was welcoming and involved. Outside chairs that overlook the Main Street in Temecula where it is quieter but the doors are open so you can still enjoy the band. Inside it is hopping with dancers and lots of feet tapping at the bar and at tables. Saw Travis Daggett Trio and they were joined by Neil and Jerelyn Morrow. Another singer did a few songs also. Been here a few times. It's never been fun. Bands are hit and miss. We showed up once with masks - of course - and were shamed by the guy at the door for wearing them. He went off on a political rant about Gavin Newsome. Great. Just what we want to hear. Someone's politics. The same night the owner did the same thing. He was walking around, working the room, and talking loudly to regulars about how Newsome was ruining the state. He's anti mask. He's proud that his club doesn't enforce social distancing and masks. Beers were expensive but there was no cover to hear bands. It's called a blues club, but there are some loud, crappy bands that play there that are far from what anyone would call "blues music" or good music. Get rid of the politics and the attitude and it might be a great hangout in Temecula. Until then, I'm staying away. read more

What a fun place! Besides the live music and atmosphere, this place has the best customer service hands down. We visited Old Town Blues today for the Journey tribute concert. Not to long after we arrived the owner Andy came over and introduced himself to us and chatted for a bit, very personable guy. We got our drinks from the bar and we noticed that our table was wobbling a bit. Before we could even look to see why it was wobbling another gentleman noticed and fixed it right away without being asked. Very attentive staff! No empty glasses remained on the table. Your beer prices are obscene. 8 bucks for a colors light? And it's 8 bucks across the board. There's cheaper craft beer up and down old town. Bro, you pack a house for Music, but your joint has a funky oder to it (given the scented candle next to me) your beer is too expensive, and it's a shame because this could be the true, proper blues bar this town needs. If you are planning to have a drink and catch some live music after having dinner in one of the area's great restaurants, don't come here. We couldn't even get through the door before security barked, "No outside food!" We happen to have our leftovers from dinner with us. I understand the need for policies, but you can't take your food to your car when you responsibly choose to Uber. Ended our evening early rather than throw away food. read more

Lastnight my brother , his wife and MY WIFE walked up the security to get into this establishment. My brother, his wife and myself were showing our IDs my wife came up and before the security guard even looked at her ID said you three can come in but SHES NOT ALLOWED, we we're shocked?! Asked why? The security guy said cause she was already "drunk" we each had one drink at oscars brewery since we only went there to eat before heading to the area. "Drunk" ?!? he had a mask on, we ALL had a mask on and if she was drunk than sir we were all drunk! AS SOON AS THE security laid eyes on my wife seeing that she's a lesbian COMPLETELY discriminated against us, I have NEVER in my eleven years of being with my wife ever came across a situation like this. And of ALL weekends, memorial weekend. Which my wife proudly served in the U.S NAVY! Stumbled into this place on a Thursday afternoon in old town with my hunny just to spend some time together. They had live music. Every Thursday they do a tribute to the rolling stones. Pretty cool!
