Perhaps since we're just coming out of covid, things are still a bit iffy, but I went to this place yesterday and just had a very poor meal. The actual place itself was nice. Pretty cool bar with huge windows and relaxing vibe. It was the food that was not good. I went there with a few folks and three of us had the fish tacos, which were just drenched in syrupy sweet goo, basically. None of us finished the tacos because the sauces were just too much. Also, my spouse ordered a bean burger, but what came out appeared to be a turkey burger, which we pointed out to the wait staff. They said it was, in fact, a bean burger but it very much appeared to taste like turkey. The wait staff was attentive and nice, but the food was really bad. Came here for happy hour with a couple of coworkers. The appetizers were great with the exception of the overly salted fries. The drinks were less then average and not as strong as I would prefer. I tried the sweet potato fries, pizza bites, regular fries, and moz sticks. Nothing extraordinary and the pricing was fair. Went to Camden for business today and had lunch at Victor's. The restaurant is on the ground floor of an old RCA building with a great view of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the skyline of Philadelphia. It was overcast and rainy so the tops of the bridge towers were hidden in the clouds - neat. The restaurant itself was fairly crowded and the lunch menu extensive. I had the Victor Burger which was excellent - especially the fries. Looks like a nice place for dinner or drinks since the bar is large with numerous flat screens scattered about. Huge parking lot across the street which is free! Within walking distance of the Aquarium and battleship New Jersey and the light rail (River Line) passes right in front of the restaurant. read more

I had an excellent experience here. Took my son to eat before a concert. If you spend $50, not including tax and tip, you can park for free. Our server was awesome. Awesome views of center city, equal to those from the Ben Franklin Bridge pedestrian walk. I think people from the Jersey suburbs often forget how picture-perfect Philly can be. It's conveniently located near waterfront attractions. Reminds me of McFadden's, but maybe it's just the proximity to the ballpark. Crowd is primarily white guys in suits and white blue-collar guys. Service was good. Food was OK, but nothing awesome (although surprisingly it didn't seem like there were a lot of other restaurant options). Someone in my party got the summer salad that looked good. Unlike the majority of reviews here that start with "I was at a concert at the BB&T pavilion" (Implying The Victor was probably mobbed with a lot of customer traffic, so no kidding you probably didn't get immaculate or speedy service, what bar does when it has a large flow of patron traffic?) I've been a regular here;(while I was an undergrad at Rutgers, and currently, as my job is 6 blocks away) I've always loved this place. In stark contrast to the pricey Victor apartments above, the bar's prices are surprisingly low, their food is fairly priced and excellent on a regular night(the old bay fries and chicken fingers are delicious!) I've never been disappointed with the service, bar tenders are friendly and have an average to just below average wait time to get another round of drinks. I've brought dates and friends here and they've always loved it as well. The environment is laxed, but not boring, lively, but not overwhelming and loud. When I come here on a Friday night, there's usually a balanced mix of locals from the city, grad students, business professionals enjoying themselves. It's also nice that(when there's not a concert going it), it's never usually overcrowded; the capacity is just right. For those that showed up here after a concert, I'd encourage you to visit the Victor when the variables are normal on a Friday night or weekday afternoon; not after you were pounding Bud Lights all afternoon at an XTU festival or a Dave Matthews band concert. read more

It's a HARD NO from both of us. Three-cheese waffle fries were cold and the cheese congealed. Two flat mojitos (sent both back and opted for wine) roast pork w/au jus "water" (sent the water back too) and not one "sorry about that." Towels thrown over a spill that happened before we arrived were still on the floor when we left. I give credit when due so, sweet potato fries were good and hubby said the dirty martinis were banging. Where's Jon Taffer when you need him? The experience was worse than horrible. First off, we were greeted by 4 employees hanging at the bar drinking who told us "sit wherever you want". It was empty so that was a valid statement. We waited 10 minutes to be greeted and our drink order was put in. When the waitress told us "your dinner comes with soup or salad, she forgot to say there's a $1.00 charge for soup. The soup was served cold. The salmon features fake mashed potatoes, white cream sauce with diced cucumbers. The food was inedible. The service matched we had 6 people in our group and an 18% gratuity was added. We only complained about the cold soup and they didn't even have the decency to take the $1.00 off. Waitress also forgot to say they charged an extra fee for the extra salsa for nachos. They couldn't even pull off a salad with wilted lettuce. read more

The Victor Pub is a casual oasis in the food desert of Camden. Try the spinach and artichoke dip! Far and away the best thing on the menu. Rich and creamy, served in a cut-out breadbowl. Other highlights on the appetizer menu includes the wings and the spicy fries. The paninis are also excellent. Try the veggie, which has a nice sauteed spinach rabe on nicely pressed bread, with a hint of oil and vinegar. Copious amounts of melted cheese. Pro-tip: Tuesday's are trivia with DJ Lou, who is the man. One of the better trivias I've been to. They also have great deals all the time, particularly after 8 or 9 ($1 tacos, half off beers etc). The tv's are a little small for sports, but they frequently are playing whatever game is on. They frequently attract a good crowd, but are so spacious that it never feels crowded. Great place to drink before or after a concert at the Susquehanna, game with the riversharks, or a day at the aquarium. read more

This was a rough dining experience. I ordered a turkey club and halfway through my meal, I noticed there was a long, curly, white hair in my sandwich. The waitress asked me "well, why would you eat most of the sandwich before telling me?" Sorry I didn't realize there was a long hair in my food at the start of the meal. After that, the manager came out and offered me 50% off the meal and took the item off the bill which I appreciated. Before we left though, the waitress insisted on telling me "you should check your attitude before the rest of the world starts treating you that way." Went for lunch on a Thursday and can't say enough good things about the visit. Food was great! We had 2 apps: fried pickles and an order of garlic mild wings. These wings are definitey in the running for the best wings I've had in a while. (being from South Jersey, where there are a few that are known as such, this is a big deal) -- The sauce was perfect, and the garlic plentiful. The wings were pretty big, and breaded just right. Fried pickles were really good, and served with an onion petal sauce. For entrées we had the meatball parm sandwich, and the california chicken wrap. Ingredients were fresh, and our sandwiches were served hot. Service was exceptional! When we arrived, a little before noon, we were seated very quickly. There were a few tables already sat and eating. Before we knew it, the place was filling up! I couldn't believe the volume that 1 - possibly 2 servers, were handling. Our server didn't miss a beat. Super attentive, water was never empty long before she was at our table with fresh ones. She was always around and we never had to look for her if we needed anything. Very good visit. The atmosphere, while busy, wasn't overwhelmingly loud, or too stuffy. Very roomy place, and comfortable. Definitely planning another visit, VERY soon. read more

Victor's Pub is a stain to the name of pubs and one of the most disappointing dining experiences I have ever had. Came here with 4 friends after a visit to the Camden Aquarium and before a show a the amphitheater. Where to Start? I guess at the beginning. We walked into the this very cavernous space with many empty tables and were first offered seating in a back corner without any windows. Also, one of our friends is handicapped and they were unwilling to allow us to move some tables arounds to accommodate her. Finally we were seated and were promptly ignored for the first 5 minutes, unless you count the bottle of cleaning spray and dirty rag that were left on our table. We had to ask someone (not even our waitress) to remove it from the table. So then there was the food. We ordered Nachos and cheese Fries. First the Nachos, honestly they were passable, except for when I tried dipping a nacho into the "Salsa", after remarking that it tasted horseradishy, I realized that it was actually cocktail sauce... Fail!! The Waitress was apologetic but didn't offer to comp anything or make it up in any way. Then the "Cheese" fries. Revised: I wrote a review yesterday based on experience with one bartender (Amanda-blonde) who was unprofessional, rude and not very well trained. Sadly she has worked there a while. I'm revising today because I had time to sleep on it and her actions don't reflect the establishment in whole. This place has one of the best views in the tri-state area. The ambience is pretty good and the people that go there add to the vibe. Mainly a college crowd but with local neighborhood folks mixed in. The food is what you would expect from a pub. Nothing great and nothing bad. The wings are the best on the menu with spiced fries coming in second. Not much of a dinner selection but it's a pub. Prices are reasonable if not cheap if you catch a special. Hey have free parking and music from a juke box with plenty of small flat screens. Now the bad. Cleanliness isn't their strength which makes me wonder about the kitchen. Experienced many times the bar being dirty and being served on dirty bar. Same with pub tables and outside tables. Glass and silver wear may have spots or lipstick. Which leads to the service. Don't expect good service. Actually you'll probably get attitude with your drink. If you are okay or indifferent with bad service, you'll like it here. Not all the staff are like the majority are. There are a couple really good bartenders and waitresses. They say "a few bad apples." Never a thank you, how's your meal? If there is a crowd or concert the service gets worst. Ownership should take note that this is a consistent complaint in Yelp and google reviews. This place would be awesome if they fixed this problem. The Victor can get away with just about anything, since it's one of the few places in the area with a liquor license that stays open past 4pm. It takes a while for a waitress to pay any attention. Having been here several times, I've only had Good service once. Generally, the staff is lackluster. Not sure if the turnover is fast, but the waitresses don't seem to be informed of what's on special, on tap, etc. As for food, you probably don't need to be told to stay away from the fried calamari, but just in case: do not waste $8 on chewy flour-y tasting batter. Stick to fries and chips. I honestly haven't tried entrees here, though. A dj comes in to play an odd assortment of music once a week. The jukebox offers a stale helping of pop, alt, and classic rock options. It is what it is, but it could be better. read more

This place needs a Bar Rescue + new ownership. I've lived in The Victor Lofts which is connected to the Pub for almost 3 years. You would think the Pub has a built in customer base and yet it stays empty most of the time. The staff is very friendly but they clearly lack good leadership. It's not uncommon to have 1 bartender + 1 waitress busting their asses while the owners are posted up in their usual spots eating and drinking. They only speak to people they choose to. It's more than awkward. I stick to ordering 1-2 items and because I live in the bldg I used to order frequently. Because of the inconsistency and rudeness of the owners I'm completely over it. I live about 40 min from here on a normal day, but due to it's primo location to the Susquehanna, Amy A. and I have been here several times! I love that you can come to this bar, park in their lot, and then just walk to the concert venue without having to pay for any parking! The bar and the restaurant is pretty huge. Service has always been fairly good. Bartenders have always been attentive, even on our last visit when the place went from slow to crazy busy for no apparent busy. I can't speak too much about the food, only ordering an appetizer here or there when my face started to get a little too numb from the beerskis. My favorite has been the garlic hot wings. SO good. Super, intensely garlicky, and I vaguely remember the wings were a good size. Will continue to keep coming back when in the area! read more

I know, I know... It's not in Philadelphia... but it's a lot closer than some of those Bucks County spots, you know? So a few friends and I went to meet up with a few friends early on Sunday evening and I'd say this is the type of place to do it. Spacious, a million TVs (and they'll gladly turn over the remote), a decent menu (although I've never seen a menu where every other page is paid advertising), a VERY fully stocked bar, etc. We had a ton of plates circulating... shrimp, wings, fries, salads, apple pie, chocolate covered cheesecake... The fries were pretty good, but the desserts were the best, though. The shrimp tempura was more tempura than shrimp, lol, but the spicy dipping sauce was great. The teriyaki wings were better than the buffalo wings, but even they were pretty good. There was a comedy show going on at the other end of the restaurant - dinner, show and open bar for $55 - so they muted the TVs, and the sound system there sucks, so they weren't using mics... that part sucked cuz we couldn't hear a thing. lol read more

Located in downtown Camden, Victors has amazing views of Philly and the Ben franklin bridge. There is also ample parking across the street in their lot. Inside, it's spacious and tons of space at the bar. Nice hangout spot for the area if you don't feel like crossing the bridge into Philly. However the food I had was not so great. I had the turkey and cheese panini but the turkey was very dry. It just didn't taste good. I had to dip it in the honey BBQ sauce that came with my fries before every bite to mask the weird turkey meat. The sweet potato fries were a def plus, I highly recommend adding it to your entree for the extra $1.50. Also, I've had the quesadilla before -- it's big enough for an entree if u prefer.
