I would not recommend this place. I waited over an hour for a table and was never seated. During that time, the staff were dismissive and didn't acknowledge me or my partner at all. To make matters worse, other guests who arrived after us were seated right away. The experience felt unfair and incredibly frustrating, and at times it even felt like we were being treated differently. Overall, it was a very negative experience. My partner and I simply wanted to enjoy a nice dinner, but we ended up leaving disappointed and unwelcome.

The place is gorgeous, don't get me wrong. The service was quite friendly though ours was a little preoccupied. Our food was very good except the Brussels were salted like they came from the bottom of a nut container, meaning wayyyy too much. I'll go again and try something else but as my first experience I hoped for a bit better.

Gretchen! This review is for Gretchen and her phenomenal service! Best server experience I've ever had! She was warm, knowledgeable, gave AMAZING recommendations, and made sure our night flowed smoothly! I hadn't been to this location yet, but I am no stranger to the Vig chain of restaurants. I've spent many hours in my young adult life, enjoying hangs at various Vig locations, including my wedding reception almost 10 years ago. Deep, core memories have been had at the Vigs! I love that there's now one even closer to me! All the food was good! Those nachos were to die for! But the drinks! Thanks to Gretchen's expertise we were all introduced to orange with cinnamon to go along with the tequila and I will be doing this from now on. If you stop in and you have the luxury of Gretchen as your server, ask about her signature drink, you'll be happy you did.

I've been wanting to check out the Vig for a while now and finally made it there on Saturday for some apps and wine. I was going to try to go there the weekend before but it was raining pretty hard and I wasn't sure if they actually had an inside -- a friend had told me it was mainly an outdoor patio. Well I am happy to report they do have a small inside area for dining and a bar as well (mental note for the future!!) Since it was a gorgeous November day, we opted for the patio -- we were there during brunch but we just wanted apps and wine. Steve was our waiter and was very attentive and helpful! We wanted fries but couldn't decide between the regular or the sweet potato fries and he suggested half and half! Great idea -- plus we got the guac and chips and some delightful Rose. The patio is a total vibe and the brunch menu looked small but mighty! I even confirmed for a future visit that their buttermilk pancakes come with real maple syrup -- so I will definitely be back for that. They also had a really nice looking wine selection which is good to note as well! I will definitely be returning to try both dinner and their brunch!!

I'm a lover of The Vig - this was my first time at this location. It is maybe my favorite in terms of the design and layout, where the outside is absolutely beautiful, but it's still covered above so you're immune to some of the weather still. Yet we were seated inside sad! It was freezing. And it wasn't cold outside ... but it was freezing inside. We were at a booth so we could sit side by side which we love. My boyfriend got the chicken and mac and cheese and we were both shocked at how large it was! He loved it. I love how you can make substitutions - I got a burger but with a veggie burger on a gluten free bun, with guacamole and chipotle aioli, caramelized onions, candied jalepenos, and cheese. Very yummy! The gf bun isn't my absolute favorite, it's slightly crumbly and dry, but it's not half bad and I love the option of it. Lots of flavors in there, and filling! I had it with sweet potato fries and it came with a BBQ sauce that was so good! Good service, we hung out for a few hours

Ooooowee this happy hour deal was fire!! As you can see, we were quite hungry LOL. This location made for a great date outing. The adult happy meal was fire, first of all. Great espresso martini, the espresso was perfectly balanced! Classic delectable Caesar salad, and perfectly paired with addicting truffle fries!! My second favorite was the sliders, sooo flavorful!! Nachos were hella loaded and the pretzels sauces were paired great with it! Also got a dirty Tito's martini, it was cool! Overall service was great when we first arrived, not busy at all, but I think we might've gotten overlooked as we chose to sit in the corner booth big table and more guests came and when we were ready to go, it took a second to find our server for the check! Not too bad tho since we were having a chill day, and she was personable, but just makes us a tad hesitant on coming back when it's busier. Good deals though!!

We had a great time at The Vig--fantastic drinks, solid food, and stellar service from Tiana, who was both our server and bartender. She was friendly, attentive, and made some excellent cocktails. We started out on the patio, which is a nice spot, but between the humidity and the misters not doing much, we ended up moving inside. Definitely the right move. DRINKS Daily Mule (mezcal, pomegranate liqueur, vanilla) - Super refreshing, well balanced, and lightly sweet. I loved it, but my husband (a traditional mule loyalist) wasn't a fan. Coug Cup (lemon vodka, elderflower, strawberry purée, prosecco) - Kind of like a floral strawberry lemonade. Pleasant, but a little underwhelming overall. Pineapple Sunrise (tequila, pineapple, hibiscus, lime) - Light and slightly sweet. The hibiscus really comes through. Comes with a Tajin rim, but I preferred it without. Blackberry Smash (bourbon, blackberry, lemon, mint) - As someone raised in Tennessee, this one felt like home. Smooth, fruity, and perfect for a southern summer night. This is the grown-up punch at the cookout. Hands down the best drink of the night. I rarely order a second of the same drink because I like to try new ones, but I got a second Blackberry Smash after our meal. FOOD Noble Pretzel - Slightly over baked and had a mild burnt taste to the exterior, but still good. Queso was tasty, but pretty plain. The house mustard was a whole experience--sharp, PUNGENT, slightly sweet. It has a serious kick, in the best way. Vig Burger - Smelled incredible, and I had high hopes, but it didn't quite live up to the aroma. It was juicy, seasoned and cooked well, but the guacamole made it messy, and the flavors didn't fully come together for me. The fries started off fine but got overly salty as we got further into them. Overall, the drinks, service, and ambiance were fantastic. Tiana took great care of us and clearly knows her way around a cocktail shaker. The food was a little underwhelming, but I'll definitely be back to try their brunch--especially if the drinks are anything like what we had at dinner.

I really enjoyed my time at The Vig. The patio is beautiful and the misters cool it down so much that it's comfortable sitting outside even in September. The food is great and the burrata is a must have!

Grabbed weekend brunch with a party size of 6 this summer and were seated outside in the shaded, misted back patio. I don't remember why, as there was ample seating inside). What brought us to the Vig initially was their bottomless brunch special at $25/person - you must commit to 1 drink: margarita, mimosa, modelo, refills are 1 cent/drink, 2 hour limit, and must accompany food.My sister and I ordered the mimosa and margarita respectively, with the truffle fries $12 and chorizo burrito $14 as our food choices. I didn't get to try her mimosa, but it was served as a glass of champagne with a separate small (like a little bit larger than a shot glass) pitcher of orange juice. Disappointingly, despite the mimosas being bottomless, my sister was only allowed 2 oj's. Had she known this (either being told by our waitress at the beginning or it being mentioned on the menu), she might've rationed her oj better instead of dumping each full portion into her champagne. Ultimately, this limits the "bottomless" nature of the brunch deal. On a more positive note, my margarita was sweet and strong, although it tasted overall watered down compared to other margaritas I've had. The truffle fries were delicious and came in a large portion. The chorizo burrito was insanely greasy, which limited how much we could enjoy it, even though we love chorizo. About the service, our waitress mentioned that she was the only server for the whole restaurant at the time. There ere probably 4 other parties in the whole restaurant, inside and outside. We found her personality to be bit abrasive and unfriendly. Ultimately, I would NOT come back for the bottomless brunch experience, but I WOULD come back to try their happy hour specials, only if invited by friends or if extremely convenient.

First time at the Vig for a late evening event with group of 12. Place was open with large patio. Menu was small but diverse and they do it well. I had the poblano chicken enchiladas, they were tasty, burgers and salads were selected by others. No complaints , service was good!

He then confirmed we were still within the happy hour window and offered to bring us a menu. Not sure that that really constitutes as a happy hour menu... I asked him why they changed the menu and he put up his hands as if to say he's not to blame and said he doesn't have anything to do with those decisions. He said that "management decided to make a few substitutions but they're pretty good" and didn't provide any further elaboration. I ordered the appetizer lamb lollipops which had four small pieces for $25. My friend decided to try the "happy hour" cheeseburger and he said it was good but it did appear a bit overpriced for an average burger with a pretty hefty serving of french fries. I really wasn't impressed by the quality of the food, the portion size, the price, or the service. We were setup in a separate dining area from the main dining room, which allowed for better conversation without added noise. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive the entire time we were there, which was a couple hours. The milk bread is an absolute must! It's so pillowy soft and the flaky sea salt perfectly compliments it. I ordered the Wise Decision cocktail, which was refreshing. For my entree, I had the shishito Caesar salad and was advised I could add a protein from their skewer selection of chicken, pork belly or oyster mushrooms. I asked the waitress about the chicken and she advised that they are smoked and will appear pink from that, so not to be alarmed, but are moist and really flavorful. While the filet was tempting (and what everyone else at my table ordered), I wanted something lighter. Thankfully I was not disappointed in my selection. The chicken was as delicious as described and could be cut with a fork. The Caesar salad was well dressed, but not soggy. Do I think it was worth the money to add the chicken? The Papas Verde had an addicting tang from the tomatillo salsa but were brilliantly balanced out by the chorizo and asadero cheese. The shaved brussel salad could have used a little more date and chile to balance out the vinegar but I was pleased either way. The elote was probably the only thing that fell short execution-wise as I didn't get much of the chorizo flavor, but the cook on the corn itself was perfect. The Gambas al Ajillo are absolutely a must-get. Juicy, sweet shrimp with an unexpected kick from the butter sauce and unsurprisingly great bread from Noble. The Tlayuda was a little heavy on the lettuce, but the smoked pork and bean puree combo were so flavorful that it helped balance out the richness with texture and freshness. I also loved the crispy contrast from the fried tortilla. We ended with the Concha and Mango Sticky Rice ice cream which sounded pretty simple but was quite impressive in its own right. The ice cream was a touch too frozen, but it ended up working out well with the crunchy cornflake coating and lightly warmed, pillowy concha to make a really satisfying ending to our meal. Service was excellent and the patio was well-lit and had heaters ready for colder weather. Vecina is on the pricier side for sure, but you will not be disappointed.

My girlfriend loved the views, but if I'm being honest, I was a bit underwhelmed. I'm from San Diego and I've seen far better. A view overlooking the freeway just isn't all that impressive to me personally. Still, I've passed this place on the freeway so many times and always wondered about it, so it felt special to finally check it off the list. We arrived about 10 minutes late, and I'll say the host that greeted us was a bit rude. We waited a few minutes before he took us back to our table. I will say there's an odd smell when you first walked in and I'm grateful that we sat outside. Once we sat down though, our waitress was attentive the entire night. We started with the charcuterie board, which honestly felt a little basic to me. The smoked Gouda was fine, but I would've preferred something sharper like an aged Gouda, and a more thoughtfully curated spread overall. The meats were okay, nothing that really stood out. On the drinks side, I tried two. The berry limeade was absolutely delicious, highly recommend that one! The traditional margarita though? Not it. Way too sweet for my taste. I don't think most Americans really know what a true margarita is supposed to be. I was hoping for something less sweet and more authentic. It is what it is, I drank it anyway (more because of the price than anything). But the entrées? Spot on. My girlfriend got the Miso Glazed Sea Bass served over potato purée with asparagus and a citrus beurre blanc. She said it was delicious. I had the Seasonal Ravioli with grana padano, white truffle oil, and added wild mushrooms on top. Incredible flavor, did not disappoint. I will say though, the ravioli plating wasn't all that appetizing. The sauce color came off bland and boring, and a little garnish like some micro greens on top could've gone a long way to elevate it. For a place like this (and the price), I expect the plating to be just as on point as the flavor. I'd say the same for the table setting, lighting and cleanliness of the table, I'd really rate that C level. Our waitress surprised us with complimentary champagne for the birthday, which was such a sweet touch. No clue what it was, but it was so good she ordered a second glass. They also brought us a small dessert that said Happy 40th Birthday for my girlfriend, which was really thoughtful. And the sunset? That part was genuinely beautiful. We got some great photos. All in all, a decent experience overall. It's pricey, and not somewhere I'd rush back to, but for a special occasion every now and then? Worth it to my GF and that's all that matters at the end of the day because it was her birthday celebration.

Also it had gristle and fat. For $44 it was a waste of good meat and I'm not one to ask a cook to throw it back in the grill when they should know how to produce different levels of cooked steak. The ambiance is a chill dim lit vibe and easy for conversations so that was great! The bathrooms are clean and smell good. Great mirror lighting too. But the front layout is odd, the hostess stand is right there so everyone crams in front of door and there's no barrier to the first large table so you're like staring at the poor people eating at that first long table lol! I think they need to switch up the entry layout and put up a half wall or decorative situation to tuck away that table a bit too. Just my two cents. Overall, I'd go again but it would be really nice if management saw this and trained staff on how to greet table sooner, take drink orders, and deliver said drinks timely for a more pleasant dining experience.

Huge wine list, even though I didn't order any. We ordered the olives with Mahon cheese (serves as a fabulous appetizer. We also enjoyed the Sonoran wheat pretzel (wow, it was delicious!!!!) then the elote pasta and the pork ribs. Pasta was a good portion and the meat on those ribs had delicious flavor and fell off the bone. You could ask for an additional one if you want. We then had dessert, I think they rotate them so if you want to try this unique and delicious and light corn cheesecake make sure they have it. It wasn't heave and the red corn masa crust flavors reminded me of flavors my mom used to bake. The ambience was soothing and cool. Octagon shaped bricks held wine bottles. Various types of seats for eating ...high counter seats that overlook the street and the Melrose sign, leather seats to sit comfortably with friends, the bar or various other seating options. Room for semi large groups or two seaters. Soft lighting throughout. Service was fantastic and while somewhat pricey, it was 100% worth every penny! Definitely a place to try and treat yourself to a fabulous meal. It's casual but if you dressed up you'd fit in well too.

That was the experience our group had at Valentine. It's one of those places that's trendy and hip, and unless you're there to post to your instagram story, you'll leave wanting more. Our waiter explained that they recommend eating family style here, with the plate sizes getting bigger as you go down the menu. Maybe family style for like a nest of newly hatched birds. Half chicken, $42. No actual sides with that, just half a small chicken. 3 ribs? $24. That's $8 a pork rib. None of the food was out of this world flavors either to demand a premium price point. Not to be completely negative, the cocktails were all very enjoyable. We left here and went to In-N-Out as a group after since we were all still pretty hungry. And our tab at In-N-Out for the four of us was less than one half chicken at Valentine.

I've been coming here for years and am finally ready to stop gatekeeping it lol…read more This is hands down my favorite restaurant in all of Arizona, period. There isn't really anything I've ordered that wasn't an absolute hit. This spot fires on all cylinders: the food tastes amazing, cocktails are strong yet balanced, and I love the ambiance in the bar area. My favorites include: fleur de lis, charred shrimp risotto, short rib mac & cheese, grilled artichokes (an absolute sleeper hit), twisted noodle salad w/ shrimp, shoestring fries, brussel sprouts, braised short ribs, etc.

We sat inside since it was a hot day but the outdoor seating looked lovely, weather permitting. The menu had some really great options, I ended up going with the Croquet Madam. It was super tasty minus that the bread was burnt. Without the burn, it would've been a solid 5/5 for me. I also am obsessed with their fries, they're those skinny shoestring crispy type & with the truffle aïoli were perfection. The service started off great but slowly slipped as our server got busier and visited our table far less. I'm sure they just have some kinks to work out with the new menu. Overall I still really enjoyed it & would come back again to try their dinner.
