The OD is great. The lens crafter staff will upsell you to oblivion if you're an unsuspecting customer. I have a $200 coverage. I picked $184 frame. They said it would be $265. I inquired more. They said, $135 for lenses. I got home and checked ny insurance, they were supposed to be included in the coverage. I called back and they said, $15. Don't even get me started on how they up coded my daughter's contact fitting to "premium" so it's not covered by the plan and now magically $80. Don't come here!! The worst experience I've EVER had. Ayah at the front desk of DNA eye group was condescending, rude, and unprofessional. I had to get my exam done twice. The first time was due to the prescription being too strong, then I went in for a new exam and they lowered my prescription but left on the astigmatism which I DO NOT HAVE. (I couldn't wear my glasses due to this, it was as if I was looking through a fish bowl - which I've never experienced in my 20+ years of wearing glasses. Terrible experience at LensCrafters. They lied about the protection plan when I bought three pairs of glasses. The plan was supposed to cover accidental damage, but now they're refusing to honor it. The store manager, Janie, was rude and dismissive. This isn't just bad service--it's false advertising and consumer fraud. I am filing complaints with the BBB and Attorney General and pursuing legal action for breach of contract. Do not trust LensCrafters. I have been coming here for years without an issue. I always opt out of the glaucoma test because of ommetaphobia. This time the eye doctor who wasn't my regular optometrist said she wouldn't see me unless I do the stupid test. I refused. Got a refund and will never go back. unfortunately I had a very negative experience at the Scottsdale Quarter location. Due to a misunderstanding with the scheduling I had to wait over 30 minutes to be seen. I mentioned this to the eye doctor and he immediately responded argumentatively and defensively. I explained that it wasn't his fault or mine but the front staff erred with appointment time and he proceeded to tell me they weren't his staff and then complained further about the "tone" of the appointment. I became nervous that he wasn't going to provide good care and he confirmed this so after all that time I had to leave not having had my vision checked. What an absolute waste of time and effort! Do not go here. Do not go to Lens Crafters. First, they DO NOT take your insurance. They say they do but it is probably out of network and thus a higher charge. Second, they can't fix their error. They billed under my husbands insurance and not mine. Then I got another bill for $120 because my insurance was denied. I pointed out their error and they couldn't fix it. Corporate won't respond and while the manager ultimately gave me the money to pay them back, I lost out on what my insurance would have provided which is better insurance. They also offer all these deals and then you are not eligible for any or they add services and don't tell you. For example, eye exams are supposed to be $10 on my insurance. They charged $30 because they took pictures. Um... shouldn't that be my choice? If you do go here, and I don't know why you would, ask about EVERYTHING BEFORE you settle. They will throw things in, lie to you and try to cheat you out of you money. read more

Popped into LensCrafters yesterday because one of the screws in my RayBans popped out and went missing. They were wonderful - took my glasses in back, and out they came in 5 minutes, repaired with a new screw and looking shined like new. All for no charge. My husband just got prescription glasses from Lens Crafters in the Fashion Square mall. It was a series of mistakes on their part that necessitated 5 round trips to the mall for them to rectify the prescription. They copied the RX incorrectly, they did not make them correctly, they neglected to add the sanding of the edges which was paid for up front. After all that now the screws don't stay in the frames. Asked if there was anything they could do to compensate the inconveniences they stated $40 off a new pair of prescription lenses. WHO WOULD WANT TO DO THAT? Specifically after the lack of customer service and the mistakes made? Would NEVER go to this company again! read more

They never called me when my glasses came in. I had to keep calling. Then they screwed up my prescription for contacts. Sent me a prescription that only had numbers for the right eye. Hello, I have a left eye too?! Called and told them, said they would talk to manager and correct it. 3 weeks later, and no call. Called again today, and same thing...will talk to manager and correct it. I've been dealing with this place for 5 months to get my glasses, and still don't have my contact lens prescription. I've gotten contacts here for the last year, even though insurance hasn't covered it. Contacts used to be ordered from the Optician in the rear of the store. The last time I went, they had moved the ordering and sale to the front. It took the young lady 20 minutes to place my order. I understand it was probably a new procedure for her. Finally, two other people had to help her. I was told since they were a special order and not in stock, it could take up to 8 weeks to arrive. They arrived two days later. When I picked up my pre-paid contacts, I asked that since I had not been given a sample pair of this new prescription to try, if they were not correct could I return them. The answer was "no since I would have opened them". The lady seemed mystified that I had not been given a sample pair to try. She went in the back and brought out samples- the right lens was correct, the left one was "close to what your left prescription should be". I tried those and they were fine. When I opened the box and put in the ones that were my correct prescription, I was not satisfied. I now have six months worth of the wrong prescription with no option to get it corrected. I will go elsewhere in the future. It's no different than ordering a pair of pants, being given the wrong size to try and be told I can't return them if they don't fit. read more

I had an eye exam scheduled, they are "in network" for my insurance. When I arrived instead of my $10 co-pay they wanted closer to $40 as they "needed" to do extra exam features. I indicated I didn't need as I had an Opthamologist appoint the follwing week, they refused service. I called insurance provider and they indicated this was a breach in their agreement w Lenscrafters and would investigate as it wasn't protocol nor legit. Terrible service. Horrible lens quality. Lens coating peeling and spotting in BOTH lenses in less than 3-1/2 months. Glasses not usable. LensCrafters said sorry it's been just over 3 months. Can't help you. They also forgot to add glare coating. Spent A LOT of $$$$ on glasses I cant use! Huge waste of money and time! They said sorry we don't know if you used something on your glasses to make the coating peel and spot. I told them the ONLY thing I ever used was the cloth they enclosed in the case! read more

I've been going to this location for 2 years now and pretty satisfied. All of my exams are done very thoroughly and I never feel rushed. This place is fantastic!!! I've been coming here for years!!! Hanging Dr Thomas on site for eye exams is very helpful. Actual selection of frames and lenses is fantastic. I've bought 6 or 7 pairs of glasses here and they couldn't be better. They use a unique computer assisted sizing method that makes an exact fit every time!!! Francis has helped me in a number of occasions and she is truly amazing!!!! A real professional that excels at her job. Not only does this location not accept VSP insurance for contact lens fittings, they neglected to say anything until I arrived for my appointment. In fact, I had to question the receptionist for 5 mins as to why the appointment was going to be so expensive (rather than my typical co-pay). After taking 90 mins out of my day, it was finally admitted VSP insurance was "out of network" for contact lens fittings. Someone from Lens Crafter even called this morning to verify our insurance and didn't say a thing! If you are planning on using VSP insurance, make sure to verify with the carrier prior to scheduling anything with this location. Very poor experience. read more

The "over the ear" piece fell off my glasses while I was on vacation. I only had a short time to get it fixed before catching a ferry. The local LensCrafters did not have the right parts, but did a temporary fix. Later I brought them back to the Scottsdale Quarter store. Jenny told me they did not have the parts and referred me to another location, where they told me I should buy a new frame. Then I received a call from Jenny indicating she had the parts and could fix them. I am thrilled that Jenny took the initiative to solve my problem. My lens of my glasses fell out and went missing one night, and immediately began to worry, cause without my glasses, I'M BLIND! I work at the Scottsdale Quarter, so I dropped off my glasses to get repaired. Unfortunately, they had to order my lens and have it shipped to the store. I would have to wait a week to get my glasses fully repaired. THIS SUCKS, I thought. But to help calm my nerves, Stephanie, who was PHENOMENAL btw, had them place a temporary lens on my glasses, until my correct lens came in. She even walked from from their store to my place of employment, just so that I would not have to walk in the heat to pick up my glasses. Simply amazing customer service. I am extremely pleased by the customer service at this store. I recently brought in my prescription from America's Best and ordered a pair of sunglasses since Lenscrafters has a much better selection of frames. When I finally picked them up, I tried wearing them for a few days and didn't like them. The frame was too big and due to the thickness of my lenses, rubbed up against my face. My vision was bothering me too and I couldn't quite figure out why. One day I was looking at a street sign and switched from my old glasses to my sunglasses and realized suddenly that the prescription in the left lens was much weaker. It turned out that the optometrist at America's Best had actually written the wrong number on my most recent exam. Lenscrafters was understanding and let me go get a new exam and pick out new frames even though my 30 day exchange period had just passed. I have a very high prescription so it was tricky finding exactly what I needed without the glasses looking or feeling awkward. Stephanie, Betsy, and Eddie were all very helpful with giving me information and helping me select the right frames and lens package. I would definitely recommend Lenscrafters over discount stores like America's Best. They cost a little more, but prices are still reasonable, they usually have some kind of sale going on, and you'll be happier with your investment if your glasses are perfect. read more

I visited this LensCrafters 8-9 months ago and my 2 pairs of glasses I purchased now have spots all over the lenses. So I took them back to Scottsdale quarter where I bought them and was told by the manager that it's a coating they put on the lenses and if I want to purchase a Warrenty for $34.99 and pay another $25 for each pair they will gladly replace the lenses. I've been wearing glasses for at least 10 years and NONE Of the other pairs put a coating on the lense!!!! They should guarantee their products and not charge you additional money to fix what is there poor quality merchandise!!! I came in to have my glasses adjusted, since I had to keep pushing them up on my face pretty often. It's a free service, I'm assuming they do it all the time. But the lady somehow melted the lenses of my glasses, and they looked awful to try to see out of and gave me a headache with how distorted everything looked. Still, they told me to keep using them until a new pair of lenses they had to order came in, and they'd replace them and send me on my merry way. I refuse to wear the glasses. In fact I'm still waiting for their call to have me come into the store to have the lenses replaced. All I came in for was a simple adjustment.
