If you have a party of nine they hostess will tell you three things, 18% gratuity, no split checks and with a party of this size they cannot seat you on the patio. They will notice you have a service dog and ask, if it's a service dog. You will reply yes and then offer them to see her certifications, they will decline, grab menus and then take you to the table they've prepared for your party. As you're getting seated a manager will approach your table and notify that unfortunately even though she is a service dog they will NOT allow you to remain inside the restaurant and that you will be moved outside. When you remind that according to the ADA that is not true, they continuously say it is the Owner's Discretion over and over again. This is unacceptable and not to mention against 35.136 of the Title 28 Code of Federal Regulations. I've never in my entire life been witness to utter ignorance and deliberate disregard for federal law. Shame on you! The code specifically states animals may be ONLY asked to leave if their handlers cannot keep them under control or if they're NOT house trained. Neither of those were mentioned,. ONLY that it was the owners discretion. Distasteful, disgusting and completely a slap in the face to a disabled veteran and his family. read more

I got the southwest scramble which was really good and my boyfriend got the chilaquilas which were so so good. I wish I got it. Very generous servings. After the second visit to the vineyard rose, I need to write a review. They consistently demonstrate 3 stars at best. The service both times was amazing though. The restaurant itself is very dated and almost unmaintained. I feel they're just letting it live until it dies. Very bland and almost like a sizzler. In a big beautiful vineyard property, it should be amazing. I ordered a ribeye steak and it was cooked almost medium, (I wanted medium), but it was toward the well done side. The award winning cheese board was overpriced and not so award winning for me. I'm not a fan of the blue cheese and you don't have any options to switch up. The honeycomb was delicious. Caesar salad wasn't good, didn't taste fresh and crispy. The Carter estate cab was delicious. I doubt I'll return unless they renovate. The seasonal special didn't even intrigue me, it was a breaded pork dish. read more

Came here for dinner since we were staying at South Coast. Hostess was sweet. Greeted us and made a little small talk while taking us to our table. We were seated outside w/ a nice view of the vineyard courtyard lights. It was a great SoCal evening for outdoor dining! Waitress was ok. It took a little while to get our order taken, never checked up on us throughout dinner and only saw her when asking for our check. Maybe because the person that brought us the bread consistently came to refill our water whenever it was low, she felt the need not to check on us. Not quite sure. Unfortunately I booked a dinner reservation to celebrate our anniversary. We got engaged at the resort 10 years ago and I thought it would be nice to celebrate at the venue. First, our reservation was at 8p, big mistake because the restaurant closes at 9p, but they accepted the reservation a month prior to dining. The hostess initially sat us in the back even though the restaurant was full and tables in the front. We asked to move and switched to a booth in the back. Okay fine. During dinner we ordered a bottle of wine. Huge mistake! the restaurant closed at 9p sharp. Not only was the food undercooked, but the staff reset tables for breakfast, vacuumed and dusted the fixtures just a couple feet from our table. The service was decent, our waiter was nice and we got a free dessert, but we couldn't enjoy it because of the cleaning and vacuuming around us. We paid the bill, took the bottle of wine to go and left quickly. This experience ruined my stay at the resort because I was in shock that the only restaurant on the property was awful. Do yourselves a favor and pop over to Ponte Inn for better food and service, you won't regret it!! read more

Tellyer Thanksgiving Post 2022 We enjoyed and made it through Thanksgiving day with a bucolic trip to Temecula. We booked our reservation at the South Coast Winery's main restaurant, The Vineyard Rose Restaurant. We had a great time, but we miscalculated, and they served their Thanksgiving meal earlier, so we ended up having prime rib and salmon instead. PROS: They welcomed us into their large open space and found it a beautiful wood beamed lodge that reminded me of Hrothgar's keep in Beowolf. The service and ambiance were warm and inviting. The charcuterie board was adequate and nicely done. The prime rib tasted well seasoned, and the green beans were top-notch. They roasted the fingerling potatoes immaculately. The pumpkin beignets with caramel sauce tasted amazing. CONS: The server started off fine, but as the evening went on, it seemed like he was sipping too much wine and becoming more and more a bit much, and became carried away. If I am in the area, I would like to try some other restaurants at other wineries. But, I would enjoy trying more from this place. read more

The Vineyard Rose Restaurant was so delightful! My boyfriend made reservations for a late Valentine's Day dinner and it was a great choice. The greeters welcomed us and allowed us to go to the bar since we were a tad bit early for our reservation. We ordered the Ceviche Tataki and OMG, DELICIOUS! So refreshing and flavorful. This was by far, my favorite meal of the night. To end our night, we got the S'mores Brownie platter and it was just what we needed to end a great night. This was our third visit. South Coast Winery Resort is a beautiful property, but the Vineyard Rose Restaurant located there (although also very beautiful) was disappointing. The food is expensive and is just so so. I had the seafood pasta, very little sea food and sauce was disappointing. It looked and tasted like it came out of a can. My wife had the chicken breast, it was dry and tough, very plain, $39. Maybe you will have a different experience. On a prior visit I had the pork chop, which was very good, $55. I gave it three stars because it is a beautiful restaurant, and the service was very good. We've always gone for breakfast there maybe once a month and this time we thought we'd try their Thanksgiving buffet, $85 pp. I made our reservations through Open table and requested outdoor for buffet. It's confusing on Open Table for that particular holiday but anyway when we got there our table was indoor and Ala Carte which I didn't know about. We wanted buffet and our reservations were for after 12n. Indoor seating didn't have any turkey on the menu and they said it wasn't on menu until 1p. What a disappointment! There were room for outdoor buffet so we opt for that but what a mistake that was for us. There weren't that many variety of holiday choices and the food was cold. You did not see any steam coming from the food and burner serving table area. Most of the meat, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes were dry. Also, when the food tray was low we noticed they weren't replacing them right away with fresh, hit food. We noticed that there were many staff around but the tables were piling up with plates. Not a good choice for us having cold food. We won't be back again and it wasn't worth $85 pp. Runaway folks, don't have buffet service! read more

For the amount of money you pay you'll think the service would be great and the food was mediocre. Upon checking for for a table we came 10 mins early and we weren't greeted and was informed they don't do earlier check in and that we will have to wait, okay that's not a problem. On the reservation we requested for inside they brought us out side instead and informed the host later we was able to get a inside table. We sat down and it was slow and our waitress didn't even look like she wanted to be there however the food runner was awesome and friendly. Highly recommend getting the pinot noir one of the best. Tammy, my absolute favorite was around tonight also, such amazing service, and such a kind soul, she always makes my evening when I see her I had a wonderful celebratory dinner tonight and was happily surprised by the small changes on existing menu items and the new dishes, from the boquerones on the Caesar salad, the fun unique cheese on the charcuterie, and the higher quality ingredients. The charcuterie board finally had some incredible ingredients and products showcased, and was so fun to eat! I personally had the new lamb dish with incredible wild mushrooms, mushroom raviolis, an impeccable sauce, and lamb from New Zealand that was cooked to perfection. Beware of Temecula Valley Wine and Agricultural Heritage District (TVWAHD). This new assessment district will fund key programs aimed at marketing. These wineries get funds but stills shows up on check! We are so fortunate to have this Vineyard just a few minutes drive away from home. This was the second time here for our 25th anniversary, first time was a few years ago for an anniversary, and it was outstanding. This time just ok. Reservation was for 700pm, arrived at 645pm. Instead of seating us as there were plenty of tables, had us wait in the Bar, no problem. Hostess wasn't very personable. At 649pm a couple walked up, and were immediately seated, either they were late, or early, however there were seated before us. At exactly 700pm not a second before the Host seated us. As I said there were plenty of tables that we could have been seated. Strike 1. When the waiter brought my Jack n Coke I found a bug in it. Pointed it out to the waiter. Either their ice machine or ice bucket, and/or the soda dispenser was unsanitary. The size of this bug shouldn't had got past the bartender. See attached pic. Strike 2. Most reputable places would have comp me the drink. They did not. Just brought me a new one. My Ceasar salad was smothered with black pepper. I wasn't even asked if I wanted it. It was brought out like this. And, wasn't offered any Parmesan cheese either like most places would have. Strike 3. Was not any salt n pepper on the table, had to ask for it. Small things like this separate the good from the bad. Probably will not return. Plenty of choices here in the Wine area read more

Scallops was not so fresh. Both my son and I had stomach issues. When management was informed to verify their stock, I was told that they will wait to determine if other customers had similar issues. Not the response that I was expecting from Tara. Either way, I gave them an opportunity to correct/verify the issue and that was the only response I received. We came in cause we wanted some bar food before our wine tasting. They only take reservations for sit down area but the bar area is always open. It was happy hour time the wines were $3 off but the food prices were actually the same as brunch. The bar was getting really packed after we sat down for a while. I think those people were on a wine tour and this was one of the stops. I had Bombay gin soda water lime cause they didn't have Hendrick's. Hubby had Chardonnay with garlic chicken flatbread. The flatbread was very delicious in large portion. Most people came in as groups and shared bottles of wines, I suppose that's better deal than happy hour. The service was very slow cause they only had one person at the bar before happy hour. Since the bartenders don't share so we had to ask service from the same bartender the entire time. So you can imagine how slow it got when there were so many people waiting at the bar. The bar experience was OK, hard liquor selections were limited, most people come here for wine anyways. So it was not a very good bar for me whatsoever, but if you like wines this bar is great for sure! read more

You can't go wrong with bringing out of town guests to South Coast Winery for a tour and a nice lunch or dinner. We did just that this week. What a nice time on a beautiful day to stroll the grounds then sit ourselves down for a delicious lunch in their Vineyard Rose Restaurant. Our server was Kyle, he was great and attentive. The house salad has caramelized onions, candied pecans and more, and a wonderful vinaigrette. Chicken or shrimp can be added. Our guest had delectable tender grilled chicken. We arrived early to the South Coast Resort and Winery. We drove from Henderso, Nevada to San Dieg, California to attend a funeral. We decided to spend the night at South Coast Resort and Winery before driving back to to Henderson. Anyway we made a reservation for dinner at the Vineyard Rose at South Coast. Since we made the reservation for 7 o'clock, we went to the receptionist and asked if we could change our reservation from 7 to 5:30. Alexa told us absolutely. Had the pleasure of lodging at the South Coast Winery for a meeting and and dinner at the Vineyard Rose. We were treated to a private dinner and the experience was 5 star! We began with wine, of course. I had a Carter Estate Cab and then switched to a Chardonnay. Both were excellent! Next we had a salad, I opted for the wedge. The lettuce was fresh, tomatoes juicy, and dressing was clearly homemade. Not mention, the bits of bacon were thick and tender and complimented the whole deal. My entree was chosen for me by the server who recommended the diver scallops. I was torn between those and the Risotto so she brought me a side of the creamy mushroom risotto and it was delicious.
