Our family's Ford Explorer required a water pump replacement…read more I visited several local auto shops to obtain quotes and was shocked, disappointed, and discouraged at the prices I was being quoted for the work my vehicle required ($5,000-$7,500) Shame on me for not reading Yelp reviews before wasting my time visiting other auto shops. I read the many positive reviews for Hye-Tech Auto Repair and decided to visit them. Upon entering, I was greeted by John (owner) with a friendly, "Welcome, how may I help you?" I explained that my Ford Explorer needed a new water pump and a few other items that other auto shops had advised me would require repair or replacement. While John looked up a few items on the computer to provide me with a quote, he introduced me to his son, Harry, who happened to be in the office. Thirty seconds later, John provided a quote that was $3,500-$4,000 less than the other shops. I could not believe it. John explained that he makes his living and succeeds in his business through repeat customers, and he does not believe in gouging customers for every last penny. He also shared that when he retires, his son Harry will take over the business, and he wants to leave Harry with a solid foundation of loyal repeat customers. It was then that I knew I could trust John and his son Harry. John went on to explain that replacing the water pump on a Ford Explorer was a 10-12 hour job, as it was an internal pump requiring numerous engine parts to be removed to reach it. This was the same thing all the other shops advised me. John suggested that I leave my vehicle, and he would perform a full inspection of the engine and contact me before doing anything to it. I agreed and left my vehicle. The following day, I was contacted by John, who advised me that the water pump did indeed need to be replaced, as it was the source of the constant leaks of the water coolant. I left my vehicle in John's shop for three days. During this time, John or his son, Harry, contacted me numerous times to keep me updated on the progress of my vehicle and also to point out that mechanics had discovered two or three very inexpensive items (under $50.00) which they recommended replacing, which I agreed to have done. All in all, I was and am extremely impressed and satisfied with everything about this shop. I spent much less money to have five different issues repaired on my vehicle at Hye-Tech than what I was quoted to replace my water pump alone by every single shop I visited prior to coming to Hye-Tech. John and Harry are very friendly, honest, and trustworthy. They are also very knowledgeable and experienced, and they offer GREAT customer service and communication. This is my new go-to shop for any issues involving our family vehicles. Thank you, Hye-Tech Auto Repair, for a very positive experience.

It's nice to see you can get quotes at the touch of a button on your phone. This morning, I had time off, so I headed in to get my service done. I did not have an appointment and that did not seem to matter. I arrived first thing in the morning at 8 AM and ask if the service could be done. Harry was an exceptional young man, he took me in with no problems, no questions. He said they could do it this morning. I told him I would have to wait. He had no problem with that either. Prior to bring in the car in this morning, as I said, I used a yelp project and had several people reach out and give me quotes. After looking at all the yelp reviews I decided to give this place a try. I am super happy that I did. This place is a hidden gem, excellence, service, quality, and value for what you receive. There are not very many shops where you could feel comfortable and put your trust in them. As I spent time in the lobby, I was able to see customer service on the phone and customer service entering the facility. Every customer that walked in, seem satisfied and was treated with dignity and respect. I highly recommend this place if you have any automotive questions whatsoever.

I am sick and tired of the dealership's practice of charging $199 to diagnose a check engine light. Even though they would apply that $199 to the repair job if I opted to have them complete the repair, I wrote it off and still came out WAY AHEAD by taking the vehicle to Art's instead.

He assured me they could perform deeper diagnostics with their equipment. After dropping off the car, Matt called and told me they had "confirmed" exactly what I had already told them, and that the next step would be pulling spark plugs--for an additional fee. At that point, I decided to go elsewhere. What I don't understand is why I was still charged the full $85 diagnostic fee, plus a $4 hazardous materials fee and $3 shop supply fee. Plugging a car into a diagnostic scanner does not generate any hazardous waste--no fluids are drained, no chemicals are used, and no parts are replaced. There's nothing about a basic scan that would justify a hazardous materials charge. That kind of fee typically applies when disposing of things like oil, coolant, or other regulated waste, none of which occurred here. In the end, I paid $92, wasted time and gas, and learned nothing new. The most concerning part was Matt admitting he didn't even know spark plugs would need to be checked as part of further diagnosis.

Jaime replaced the entire transmission for me all under Carmax warranty, he also went above and beyond and checked the health of the front differential, rear diff and transfer case. All was serviced under the Carmax warranty. This all happened at 60k miles , I currently sit just shy of 65k. Couldn't recommend Jaime more, everything that needed to be serviced was, and no corners were cut. He did the job the right way the first time and my trucks been driving smooth ever since. 10/10 would recommend !

This place is a legit professional exhaust shop. I searched around based on reviews and past…read moreexperiences with other muffler shop. Some places slap stuff on and send you out. It will work, but not always be the best. This shop takes pride in the work they do. Owner is friendly and personable. I even chatted him up regarding welding, and he openly took the time to teach/show me some things to try as practice to learn better welding. This was not even related my my job!! I consider my job pretty simple... for my skill level (shade tree mechanic). I did not want to deal with it in my driveway. So I needed a shop that I would trust to do it as I would do it. I would take my time and get it right. No Wham,Bamm thank you mamm stuff. Here is an example of the little details you want in a professional shop. When putting on the clamps for the exhaust tips the owner (Sorry, I forgot your name, my bad) rotated the clamps in such a way that they would never be noticeable (clamp bolts) from the rear. This car is low and it probably would not have mattered but I know from experience from other shops that they would have just slapped the clamps on. Would have it worked? Yes. "Professional detail" no. The details matter and that is how you know you are dealing with someone that cares about the service they provide you. My job was a Corsa cat back exhaust on a 2024 Ford Mustang GT. The owner knew exactly what he was doing. Not like some other shops where it just seems like the person is guessing half the time. I work on my own project cars. So I have a certain skill level and sometimes I am that person that is guessing on how to do something. This shop was none of that. Professional and knowledgeable all the way. I will be letting everyone I know about the shop for their exhaust needs. You get what you pay for. The prices at this shop are fair, competitive and totally reasonable. Seriously I felt like I got a bargain just based on how professional the shop was. Side note- The owner has legit welding skills too. I saw examples. I would not hesitate for him to weld anything I needed done. NOT RELATED TO THIS SHOP AT ALL... Just a personal rant about some Yelp reviewers... Again NOT RELATED to this shop or any reviews of this shop...My two cents on Yelp reviews overall where people say they felt over-charged or they know they can get something cheaper. Look, you are paying for someone's skill and overhead (of the business). Stop thinking it is okay to scr3w skilled professionals of their labor because you think it SHOULD cost less. Seems you do not have the skills or understand the knowledge need to do skilled jobs you want someone to preform for you. First off just remember EVERYTHING is more expensive now. Then there is a big difference between doing a job correctly and doing a hack job that will be "good enough'. If you are one of those "good enough" shoppers, then stop leaving bad reviews all over Yelp for business that are actually trying to give you a professional and correct service. Those businesses are NOT trying to rip you off... they are trying not to screw you with shoddy service,

Any time you bring your car here you'll end up with more problems with your car than before. I don't even write reviews but I feel compelled to do so because I don't want anyone to have to go through what my wife is going through. The first time she brought her car in was for them to add coolant oil. Soon after on the drive home the car started driving weird, car started overheating, etc. We Called the shop to explain what was going on and they said "you brought the car in like that". Really? The next and final encounter with these con artists was when my wife brought her car in for a 100,000 mile service. The same thing happened, my wife is on the way home and the car started driving weird again. This time anytime she accelerated over 40, the car starts shaking. I Called the mechanic and they said bring the car back in, once there he says "you have a bad coil" (all of a sudden)...then he says he'll do us a courtesy and change the coil for free. How nice of him. (Sarcasm) Not even a month later the car starts acting up again, but this time we take it to a different mechanic. The mechanic asked my wife if she ever had her 100,000 mile service yet, my wife told him "yes"...The mechanic returned to show her the parts in her car that were supposed to have been worked on by German Automotive, which was clearly not. They stole $900 like it wasn't nothing. We will NEVER go back here even if they were the only mechanic in a 500 mile radius. I can't wait till Karma catch up to them!

The first time I took a care there, at the old location, Sako gave me an assessment of what to do and what he said I didn't need to do yet, which I appreciated. Fast forward to just a week ago and I had issues with two of our cars - the old VW Passat and a temp car, a Hyundai Veracruz, my in-laws gave my son until his project car is done. Neither one of these cars do we want to put much more $$ into them. I told Sako we need them safe and working and what's needed. He totally took care of them. For the Veracruz, a Starter replacement and brakes. For the VW, the control arms, fixed the AC/Heater system, fixed an oil leak, welded the cracked header pipe, and more.
