Wagmore Pet Resort has been taking care of our Morkie, Charlie, for over a year now, and they've been wonderful every step of the way. From doggy daycare to boarding and grooming, their staff truly goes above and beyond, and you can tell Charlie absolutely loves it there. Whenever we ask her if she wants to "go to school," she immediately starts running around in excitement and doesn't stop until she's in the arms of a Wagmore team member, ready to play with her doggie friends. When we travel (which is often for both work and leisure), we have total peace of mind knowing she's safe, happy, and in great hands. Even when we miss her and call for an update, the staff never hesitate to let us know how she's doing. It's rare to find a place that feels like a second home for your pet, but that's exactly what Wagmore is for Charlie. There is a complete lack of professionalism all around here. From neglecting to feed my pet along with the pet of another customer, being invited to try them again due to changes they made, and the lack of professionalism behind the counter from the shift lead, ineffective reservation system, cancelling of reservations made on the phone without notice, collecting of deposits with no confirmed reservation, failure to apply deposits to reservations, and wholly inadequate methods to request refunds for over-collected deposits, it feels hostile every time I call them. I will once again meet with the owner to see what they can do to reassure me of their capability to run an effective business, but as a 13 year customer who apparently has Stockholm syndrome, I'd caution anyone from getting into this cycle of abuse. But their groomer is excellent! She cares, does a great job, and is a true professional and a delight. read more

We have been customers for around 4 years now. Obviously our first 2-3 were wonderful. As long as we kept up with the requirements, Wagmore was nice and easy to communicate with. Disclaimer: The Pet Wagmore whatever, unfortunately, has an added requirement of the Bordetella every 6 months, which is not a common requirement for other day cares. Today, my daughter went to drop off the dogs and one of them needed the very vaccine. In all honesty this has happened a few times with us. We take full accountability. What we receive from our vet, regarding vaccines, is based on norms, which is not Wagmore's guidelines. We admit and accept our faults. My husband and I are both school teachers in the urban San Antonio area. Not easy to get to Wagmore for opening nor closing. Some days are near 12 hour days for us. And I say this to give some understanding as to why we find it hard to keep up with Wagmore standards. Given all of that, we have been mostly satisfied with Wagmore. Until today. My daughter took our dogs in....mind you it's only every 2 weeks....and Wagmore needed to verify one of the dog's vaccine status (no surprise the additional vaccine Wagmore requires). 7ish AM a lobby full of other daycare parents and dogs.....my daughter is once again unable to leave them bc of Wagmore's expectation. But this time, my daughter was not only embarrassed (as we all are when we show up and not allowed to leave our babies), but a lady (who unfortunately my daughter did not know the name of) came up to the front....seemingly a manager/lead of some sort....inquiring about our dogs not being checked in ..and then when another personnel (who was calling our vet to double check--for our BENEFIT- about the vaccine) was on the phone with our vet to solidify was asked about our dog in particular. When the personnel told them they were trying to verify our dogs vaccine status they said "of course. No surprise." Absolutely will not return unless we have been apologized to. read more

My wife and I boarded our two Australian Shepherd dogs at the The Wagmore Pet Resort in San Antonio on Valentines Day 2025. The male Aussie is 12 years old, is a diabetic and does not see well. That makes us very apprehensive about boarding him anywhere! The other Aussie is a very high energy female (imagine that) and loves to be outside. Our criteria for boarding our Aussies was for them to share a large indoor/outdoor kennel, for the diabetic dog to get 2 insulin injections daily and adhere to a strict diet. The Wagmore Pet Resort was FANTASTIC and met all of the criteria admirably. While there, both dogs had a bath and had their toenails trimmed by the Wagmore pet groomers. Our Aussies, Butler and Pandora, looked and smelled better than ever and looked relaxed and happy when we picked them up. The the website is excellent as is the registration, electronic capture of medical records for the dogs. Drop-off was very easy, neither dog even looked back or said goodbye...like they really knew this would be a fun "Doggie Night Out!" Pick-up was easy and hassle free. The manager, Brittany and the personnel at Wagmore were perfect, we could not ask for more. Wagmore has easy access to I-10, and is a very clean and welcoming place for your fur-babies. Hands down the best doggy daycare. I used to take my dog to lucys but after multiple problems I discovered wagmore! They really take care of my dog and no issues like I had before with the staff at lucys. The staff actually interacts with my dog and got to know him like it was their dog. I am irritated with this company. I had brought my dog in for 3 days over the holidays. I picked up a new bag of dog food, a huge 30 LB bag that cost me $80 because he has a special diet and has food allergies. I delivered my dog and 30 pounds of dogfood to Wagmore. Three days later my husband picked-up my dog and 80% of my very expensive dog food was gone, so I had to immediately go and purchase another bag during the holiday shopping season. I assume they used my dog's expensive food to feed other dogs. If they want to purchase me a new bag of dog food, which I feel they owe that to me, I will delete this negative post. The moral of this story is do not bring excessive dog food to this facility because they will use it to feed other dogs. Very unethical and immoral! read more

Don't be distracted by the flashy facility and the prices. The organizational culture here is not safe for a loved pet. I had a concerning interaction with multiple employees where each seemed to go out of their way to blame the other. It was bad customer service/ poor teamwork that made me question the business and their training for employees. It prompted me to search for reviews. My issues were symptomatic of the actual dangers described by others. I will not board my dog there ever again. read more

It wasn't me who gave this place five stars, it was my cat. Nasdaq is a picky feline. He turns his nose up at most anything that isn't of the highest standards. When I left town, and needed someone to keep him happy and fed, I turned to the newly-opened Wagmore Pet Resort. The place is new, clean, well lit, and eco-friendly! I was amazed at the size of the rain catchment system that they use to clean out the kennels! The lighting all comes from the sun. The place is super environmentally friendly! When I dropped Nasdaq off, he didn't want to be left behind. I knew that he was skeptical. But when I picked him up after a long weekend, he didn't want to leave! He told me all about the great friends he made, and the wonderful care he received. In his words, he said, "Meow meow meow, purr purr purr." What a compliment! read more

I had an appointment scheduled today. I received a confirmation text at 1:13, then a second text at 4:13 stating that the groomer was out sick with a fever and that they hadn't heard from her. They were giving notice in case she called out the day of the appointment and stated, "we will be sure to update you right away." I called at 7 am the day of the appointment and left a voicemail. By 8:15 no one had returned my call, and I had to go to work and drop my kids at camp. I called back, and the girl that answered the phone told me she was too busy to call me back but that the groomer was there. I asked her to reschedule me, so she put me on hold for 5 minutes and then just sent me to voicemail. After calling back four times, the girl finally answered, explained that it was my fault, and then hung up. I am in the business of customer service and was appalled at her behavior, the owner's failure to reach out, and the fact that they failed to send out a second communication that the groomer would be present after all. Somehow all of this was my fault. It is great that Wagmore is busy, however, they should also realize that their clients are also very busy, and punctual communication is the best way to avoid issues. Since Vero left my dog has had some inconsistent grooming performed while they tried to find a permanent groomer. I also had to take my dog to the vet for steroid cream when they shaved his privates too close. I still came back hoping they would work things out, but after this morning, I am happy to give my business to another groomer that understands that there is more to grooming than just cutting the dog's hair, like friendly service from your staff at the front desk. My family has been to thIs place several times and the most recent will be our last. Every time we have boarded our dogs here, there has been an issue. For the amount of money we willingly pay to board our dogs here, the staff could be friendly, or at the very least communicate correct information. Dog abuse. Took my dog there to get boarded and groomed twice. The first time I boarded and asked for my dog to get groomed they changed it to a bath and then when I picked him up and I said something about it they said they got a new groomer and she didn't have any appointments available. You would think they would tell me that before I dropped my dog off. Unfortunately I gave them grace with new changes in a business can be challenging however I brought him back extended his boarding to a week so he could get in with the new groomer. I called the day before to confirm that he was groomed and they confirmed. I went to pick up my long haired Maltese and I asked the manager if I could see my dog before I paid and she seemed annoyed with me because of that. She brought out my dog and of course he wasn't bathed or groomed but still wanting to charge me for it. I told them I wouldn't pay for it because this is the 2nd time this happened she brought the groomer out and she said she could get him in on Monday however my dog needed to be groomed when the original appointment was made because now of course he was matted everywhere and the annoyed manager and groomer acted as if it wasn't a big deal he was matted. If I was the manager or the groomer I would have had him groomer immediately to resolve the situation. I would have not been so upset to be honest. I did not request this because it is not my job to fix their poorly ran system with no effective communication. Eventually after me wanting resolution because I was now upset about the matting on my dog I left and didn't pay anything. We had him shaved off and of course now he has open skin scabs and sores. I told them about the matting and sores today and they told me I don't brush him at home. I laughed because my dog has 5 different kind of brushes and is blow dried.The employees and manager not taking accountability is even worse in my book because now they feel they don't need to correct their issues while taking care of peoples dogs. Now of course they understand the problem with dogs matting because I had to explain it to them when I picked him up. The owner Scott did say that he would "discuss the vet bills". I honestly don't want to discuss anything because if this has happened what else is happening at that place that we don't see? I just want to warn people about this place. I have a diabetic cat that needs insulin shots twice a day and have been leaving him here when I have to go out of town for vacations or just over weekend for years now. Everyone has been so professional and caring. We once got a flat tire and the Vet tech was nice enough and knowledgable enough for change it for her spare tire! From the outside this place seems great. It's a nice looking kennel and the staff was friendly enough and gave the right answers to my questions. So I dropped of my dog in confidence as the family took a vacation over a long weekend. When I picked up my dog on Tuesday morning he was filthy and visibly distressed. I was in a rush so I didn't say anything (which I should have). When I got him home I saw that his paws were sore and bloody and he was definitely not acting the same. We called later that day but the only reason we were given for him being dirty was the rain. But if he is being boarded inside why would he be filthy? Why would he have sores on his feet. Nobody could answer those questions and we weren't even given an apology. Keep in mind that you're paying people hotel prices for the boarding. I will not be bringing my dog back and I'll be telling my friends and colleagues to also avoid this facility. read more

Wagmore is absolutely incredible! This was my first experience leaving my 2 yr old baby girl (150 lb Great Dane). I have to admit, I am a little over protective and she is a little, ok...a LOT, spoiled. I was like a new mother leaving an infant child. I brought her pillow bed, her pillow, her blanket, her food, treats & a toy. I think I am embarrassed now that I am putting all of this in writing :) But, she is a member of my family, not just some dog. I was greeted by the owner, Scott, who was incredibly understanding and reassuring & not at all surprised by my overly protective nature. He kindly gave me a tour of the facility, which is just impeccably clean and beautiful! It is obvious a lot of thought, planning, and caring went into the development of this facility. All of the kenneled animals seemed happy, none were whining or yelping or even barking as we walked by. Scott then took my pup out to a kennel & proceeded to label all of her belongings and complete my check-in. The place was very busy, an obvious indicator of the quality of care. I left feeling comfortable and happy with my decision, I knew my baby girl was going to be safe, well cared for, and even a bit pampered! Upon my return, I was greeted again by Scott and a very happy baby girl. All of her belongings were gathered in her own little Wagmore bag, labeled and ready to go. I was so relieved & so happy to have found a place I will definitely return to. We love the Wagmore !!! Ocho has been coming here for 2 years, since he was a puppy. We bring him once a week for play days. He is so excited every single time we pull up. He also boards here when we go out of town. The groomer is the best we've ever used..and I have lots of years of experience with them. There are so many great things about the Wagmore, but the thing that impresses us most is how clean it is. You never, ever smell anything but clean. The facility is unlike any other. Our son, Paco Miquel stayed at Wagmore this christmas while we travelled out of state. The facility is ecofriendly(my hubby helped design the electrical and this is how we found out about it) so we were very excited to take Paco there even though we were a bit worried at first. It was his first stay away from us and though he was a bit nervous when I dropped him off I have to say he was confident, relaxed, and in such a great mood when I picked him up. The facility is as good as it gets, complete with radiant flooring to keep your furry kids warm in the cooler months. Lots of natural lighting and a rain catchment system. We toured the facility and found it to be very very clean.(unlike others). The staff was super friendly, too, which is important. I'm of the belief that if you own/work at a boarding facility you should love animals and show an interest in them. This was not the case with other boarders we'd met while we were making our decision and this played a large role in our decision. They made sure to give Paco his daily treats and even mixed his food just the way we do at home. We'll definately use them again...if even for a few daystays for some socializing. He's an only child and he needs it. ;) read more

Our dog is our baby. At 6 our baby has been going to Wagmore all her life. Whether Just to play for the day or for extended vacation we find Wagmore to be magnificent. They treat our dog so well that she is always so happy to get there. She comes home happy and well kept. I appreciate their vaccination rules as it keeps our puppy safe. They know her by name and send me pics when we travel. The facility is clean and the staff friendly. read more

We had a very disappointing experience at Wagmore Pet resort. It is very expensive ($50/day), but had good reviews. We were concerned about leaving our dog somewhere for a week so cost was not our primary concern. We booked an indoor outdoor room. I toured the facility and would not have boarded my dog there if they had only indoor available. The indoor rooms are dismal and depressing. I checked and double checked to make sure she had the indoor outdoor room, where she could go outside and sit in the sun, even asking when I dropped her off if the person taking her back knew she was supposed to have an indoor outdoor. I was reassured at all times that she did. When we picked her up, I saw that there was a $12 credit on my receipt for "transfer - indoor only." When I called to ask about this, they admitted they had transferred her to an indoor room without ever telling me. "Sorry - oops, there must have been some problem with our computer system" was the manager's only explanation. I am very upset that my dog spent an entire week sitting in a concrete box, and they made no effort to try and make it right in any way. We paid $300 for the exact opposite of the experience we were looking for for our dog. Overall a terrible experience - I do not recommend this place and we will never go back. read more

My dog boarded there for over 5 years and there were times things were fine and then there were times they weren't. Being over charged - asked why - they gave us a credit. But the last straw was being charged for an extra day because we were 15 minutes late picking our dog up when I called and said our plane was late ( out of our control ) left a message that day with the girl at the counter who wrote it down on a notepad to have Scott ( the owner ) call me back so we could discuss this . . . never heard back from him. Well I called to get everything done. When I asked why I had to now pay a higher fee she said that is how it is. I asked to speak with someone else and she said there wasn't anyone. I was very happy with our first visit to Wagmore! My dog seemed to have a great time playing with the other dogs which is the whole purpose of the visit to the daycare program. The facility is extremely attractive and looks to be a very welcoming place for both dogs and their owners. The staff is friendly, helpful and eager to please! I really appreciated being given a full tour of the facility and seeing where my dog would be playing, resting, etc., when he is there. We have been bringing our 2 small Dachshunds to The Wagmore for several years. One post mentioned it best that at times things were fine and others they were not. We could not agree more. The staff at this establishment is not friendly and not personable towards owners or their pets as there is always some one new at the desk. Our poor dogs seemed completely done with this place when we picked them up after a short stay recently. They were exhausted, seemed neglected, completely filthy and had several cuts on their paw pads and were having trouble walking once we got them home. Each time we take them here there seems to be new policies in place that weren't there before that makes a stay for a pet less and less enjoyable. First it was can't bring their own toys or blankets, now they charge a medication fee for each medication administered per dog per day. For a short stay over the weekend and what we payed we could have and should have just brought them with us. What makes it worse is the uncomfortable feeling of secrecy that looms when you pick them up; they don't know who you are and almost drag your pets out of the back on a choke leash covered in dirt, grime, and who knows what else with their belongings all over the place. Overpriced, unfriendly, secretive, and not personable. read more

This place seriously has problems. I sent my 6 month old dog here for a month of intense training . In that month, I was lied to and basically stolen from and my dog did not get the treatment promised, when i got her home she was nervous and acted like she hadn't had much human contact. They charge almost a thousand dollars for nothing more than boarding, which I didn't need! I was told they had several trainers, they only have one(the owner) ; she was supposed to learn basic training,she learned nothing but how to sit in a cage; I was supposed to get an hour long training session at the end of the month and he wasn't even there when I picked her up!! In fact, in the 28 days she was there, the owner was on vacation for at least 7 of them. None of this was mentioned when I dropped her off. When I picked her up, employees actually told me that I had every right to be upset and that they knew I was lied to. Don't trust this place, they will say anything to get your money and you have no way of knowing you are getting what you payed for. I am actually going to the better business bureau about this. I am so upset and disappointed. read more

The Wagmore is very clean and has many staff on hand to ensure pets are well cared for, however, they do not have very good front office skills (evidently they are used to interacting with dogs and cats more than their paying clients).They rarely greet or thank you for your business or give any type of feedback as to your pet's stay. Their menu of pricing is ridiculous--lots of nickel and diming for services other places toss in for free. And that's after a base price which is much more expensive than their competitors. I have used their services for over 4 years and can't say enough positive things about everyone. The entire staff has always been very friendly and courteous. I took my 4 dogs here for grooming. (We are new to the area) We went Once and never again. The groomer Vero left many scrapes on my Chinese crested dogs and did not bother to,trim their nails. Worst of all were the standard poodles. My red guy George Was basically tortured. the groomer CUT 4 SKIN TAGS OFF HIM!!! The injuries were stuffed with styptic powder to stop the bleeding, I know this because the large lumps were how I realized he was hurt. The injuries were underneath his long ears and I did not find them until I got him home and he cried out when I was petting him. This was the worst grooming experience I have ever had. I can not imagine the pain and the amount blood that was drawn. Absolutely horrific I am sure. I picked up the dogs and was very generous with a tip as I did not see what had happened at that time. It was over $100. Per dog with a tip. I called them the next business day and told them what happened to George and mentioned the poor grooming. The man on the phone suggested I take him to the vet and they'd pay, "we have insurance for this" he said. No apology, no shock nothing. Totally heartless. In my opinion my dogs were abused, assaulted and tortured. I have never felt so guilty and so sad for my sweet companions. They trust me to take care of them, and I will do better next time, because next time we will GO ANYWHERE ELSE! read more

This post is long overdue. In mid-December my wife and I were out of town and our Frenchie, Gabby, was at Wagmore. The owner, Scott, called to let us know Gabby vomited and wasn't herself. He said they'd keep a close eye on her and he'd stay in touch. He went as far as to keep her in his office with him so he could monitor her up to the minute. She got worse so he ran her to our vet; they said she was very sick so he got back in the car and ran her to the vet emergency clinic, all the while keeping us updated. She was able to pull through a serious intestinal and pancreatic issue and is doing fine. That level of care and comfort he demonstrated was amazing. We were lucky to have a kind and vigilant person caring for our dog. Thank you , Scott and staff!! read more

Knowing we were going to be gone in December for 10 days, I toured and interviewed 4 other dog boarding facilities in the area before deciding on Wagmore for our 4 dogs. Wagmore was BY FAR the overall winner! It was incredibly clean, professionally run, and all my questions were answered fully and completely... and there were many questions. Hehe! I loved that there was a quieter, more secluded wing for older dogs with not only continous access to an outdoor area when the weather was good, but also another larger area that they were taken out to run and play several times a day by their caring staff. All of my dogs belongings, treats, toys, and medicine was tagged with their names to avoid mix-up or loss. The front office staff (Cindy and her daughter-in-law) were very kind and asked specific questions about the care, feeding, and temperament of each of my dogs. In addition, the staff assistants learned my dogs names almost immediately and were very interested in getting to know them. When I left on my extended vacation, I had no qualms at all that they were going to be treated with respect, love, and affection just as the owner's and staff's own dogs were treated. And they were! We were very happy with Wagmore. We boarded our two dogs recently. They needed separate cages because they are good girls but sometimes fight each other. Wagmore was able to accomodate us, and the dogs were taken out for group play sessions which seem organized and calm, given there are quite a few dogs out. We were treated nicely by everyone. The dogs were calm and clean when we got them, and did not seem at all fazed by the experience. It seems like a fantastic place, and we would recommend it to anyone. read more

The Wagmore is great! My lab spent the Thanksgiving holiday with them and came home very happy! It was evident Harley was well taken care of.They even gave us a report card at check out letting us know how well he did during his stay. The staff and owners knew him by name and each had a Harley story to tell. Made us feel like he was given lots of love and attention. Will definitely use The Wagmore for our future boarding needs.
