It was 5pm at night and Ty offered to come out the same night, but wouldn't be able to arrive until around 8pm or 9pm due to another install job he was at. I have contacted the Water Heater Guyz three times for different issues involving rental property water heaters and each time I have come away unimpressed. The good yelp ratings are why I tried them first when faced with water heater problems but I honestly think they just want to sell high priced water heater installations and nothing more. Most recently, I called because the breaker to an electric water heater was popping. After less than a minute, and him learning it was 6 years old, he said it's probably just best to replace it. That's without even looking at it. The other water heater repair folks told me it could be a host of fixable issues, which it was (replaced heating element for $95, by handyman). Previously have received bids on tankless water heater installation and 40 gallon replacements, both close to $1,000 more than others. Nice enough on the phone and if I hadn't done research, would have never known, which is why I wanted to leave a review from my experiences. read more

UPDATE: In my original review below I forgot to mention that Ty went out to the property to look at my old water heater and take measurements for replacement, etc. He did that at no charge to me. All of the other contractors kept asking me to take pictures, measurements, etc. even after I explained to them that I am 80 years old, wheel chair bound, legally blind and need a hot water heater for my rental property ten miles away from where I live. Ty had the job completely done while most contractors were still asking me for additional information. I am legally blind, so maneuvering around web sites and trying to read the invoice was difficult for me. He was very patient and helped me every step of the way. Also my property is tenant occupied so he had to deal with me regarding terms of the contract and payment, but he had to deal with the tenants regarding access to the property. Lastly, he was replacing a 54 year old water heater with rusted pipes and connector pieces that was not up to current code requirements.
