I found this business on Yelp because of their excellent reviews and they came out the same day to fix the leak. Alfonso, the technician who came to fix the leak said my plumbing pipes had been recalled several years ago because the lines failed and were substandard and not worth fixing. He did a temporary fix on the leak but couldn't guarantee it wouldn't fail. He said my plumbing needed to be completely replaced and called his boss to get pricing. They gave me their best discount and I accepted the price. It was a shock to me to find I had to replace everything but there was no other option and I made an appointment for Monday. I want to commend Alfonso and his partner Benny for their kindness towards me. Alfonso even helped my park maintenance man install a new meter because mine was cracked and leaking gas! Alfonso went above and beyond for helping me with my emergency situations! I also want to commend the workers who are installing my new plumbing and water heater, JT and Eddy. They are excellent and efficient and sensitive to a senior citizen's needs and are very kind as well. I highly recommend this business and their wonderful staff!

I live in an older home (1950s-1960s) so clogged pipes are a problem and they've always done a great job on them. I also appreciated that they've made good suggestions when I've mentioned the cost of upgrading my plumbing and offered me options that made the cost more within reach. For the last call, a regular cleaning could have caused damage to the sewer line which was breaking and was full of roots, so they water-flushed the blockage instead to get the water moving and I realized, it was time to replace the sewer line before it was too late. I received a discount as a repeat customer. The whole process took less than two days. Mike and Anatoliy came out to do the work. They covered the ground with tarps to minimize cleanup later, digging was a few feet deep but confined to the location of the line, narrow to the point that they saved a favorite rose bush that I was supposed to dig out. I appreciated seeing part of the removal process and the explanation of the original sewer material, how it was installed and how that eventually led to the wear. The work on day one didn't take that long and the pipe was installed and the cleanouts were upgraded to current standards. They handled the permit and scheduling for the inspection and it was passed by late morning so that Mike could. complete the work. The whole removal and installation hardly interrupted my water use. Dustin came later that day, and not only cleared through the root clog, but accurately isolated the problem to an area that would not disturb my hardscape. Anatoly came the next day and, with a very sunny disposition and only a shovel and a tarp, I watched him magically dig a six ft deep hole to access the problem in no time at all. I found this company on yelp…read moreand read local plumber Reddit threads that they give reasonable priced quotes and their work is reliable. In the process of selling my home, I was told the master bedroom drain was slow and the dishwasher loop needed to be fixed so I spoke with Jimmy and made a service appointment. No upfront scheduling fees, and I was given a fair quote for the estimated work to fix the two items. Come the day of the service appointment, Roger updated me on his ETA, showed up at the confirmed time, and looked at everything. The honesty comes in where he confirmed there was nothing to fix really and explained that the dishwasher loop would require an air intake valve which meant cutting through the granite counter and he ran the dishwasher which ran just fine. All this to say, I could have had another company charge me just for the visit and for a fake fix but not Mako! Roger went the extra mile to write me a report invoice of $0 explaining his inspection. This is the epitome of integrity. Happy to write this review to express my gratitude! If I was keeping the house, I'd keep Mako as my go-to plumber and will still be sure to pass along this name to our neighborhood community Facebook group. Was not able to obtain a ballpark estimate over the phone when scheduling. Edited to add - customer service followed up with me via phone call a couple hours after service and yelp review and explained that the wrong selection was coded and I was refunded $185, for a total cost of $395 for the drain unclog. After a couple of weeks of disasters with two visits from plumbers our home warranty sent. We decided to find our own here on Yelp. 1st Call Plumbing looked promising, so we called them. Mike is very personable and instilled confidence from the get-go. He listened carefully on the phone and asked pertinent questions, scheduling us in for a quick visit the following morning. We are short on cash and had already checked what the average cost of sewage line replacement was and the various options available. We discussed whether I could dig the trench and have them remove and replace the line. Was given a very nice quote on the understanding that I do a good job digging to their specifications. It took me all my spare time over a few days. Again, Mike was excellent. I didn't have to chase him or even ask. He called one morning and stopped by in between jobs to check my progress. He estimated when I would be done. Did a follow up visit the day before and saw I had pretty much finished. When I was done and gave him a call, he had already penciled us in for the following morning. Mike is punctual and, on all occasions, came exactly when he said he would. To install the new sewer line, he brought his work partner of 25 years Carlos. They are good buddies and between them did all the work quickly and competently. I am happy to say that our sewer line has been working flawlessly for the last 3 weeks. I have no problems recommending First Call Plumbing. Mike was fair and honest from the get-go. A small business who takes pride in their work and does an excellent job. Wish all contractors were as straightforward and easy to work with.
