Food is amazing here! You have to try it! We got the baked Brie which is meal within itself and comes with a fresh green salad with carrots and tomatoes in a light vinegarette, roasted garlic cloves, sautéed onions baked Brie and a small loaf of French bread. For dinner, my husband got a burger made with organic beef and great potato and bacon soup (soup de jour). I got a linguine with a organic beef and pancetta Ragu . It was super flavorful and hearty. I love this place! I always look forward to visiting Squamish just so I can come here and have a decent meal with an awesome view. I first tried this place when the BF and I joined a Meet Up group to climb the Squamish Chief. We came here after to refuel from about 2.5 hours of climbing. We were starved and in serious need of a beer. I ordered the California Chicken Burger. It came with cheese, bacon and guacamole. These three toppings are the love triangle of sandwiches. For the side I ordered the soup. It was a homemade tomato mushroom and garlic soup. Absoutely excellent. Every time I visit, I order the soup. Whoever makes it is a genious. Gordon Ramsay would approve. This guy, or gal, is no donkey in the kitchen! The second time I went I tried the Chicken Club and had the Thai soup. And on my third visit I tried the salmon sandwich. They never cease to impress me. I'm so excited to go again next week for my fourth time. I think it's time to try the fish tacos. Eeeee, I'm giddy just thinking about it. Fun atmosphere and great view of the river. Went on a weekday afternoon and it was very busy. Kitchen was backed up so the waitress warned us it would be about 40 min. for our food. We were not in a hurry so enjoyed our beer and Caesar's. My husband loved the fish & chips. I enjoyed Gyozas. No air conditioning and it was a hot day. Waitress was excellent. We had a view of the backside of the kitchen and noticed the metal shelving with pots on it was very dirty & thick with dust. Not what a customer wants to see when eating their food. Cool place to grab some pub food in Squamish after a long day of outdoorsiness, but be prepared to wait for a table. Took us around 30 minutes to be seated, but it's a beautiful place to wait on the banks of the Squamish River. My wife ordered the salmon burger - a beautiful filet of freshly caught sockeye on a brioche bun, dressed perfectly. I was craving veggies and got the mango teriyaki bowl, also with sockeye. We were tired from the Garibaldi Lake hike, and didn't want to drive all the way back to Vancouver to eat. This restaurant is located just before Squamish, in Brackendale, and right on the river with a nice view. It is also one of the few restaurants in the area that are open for dinner, especially on a holiday. Service was good - the waitress didn't smile much but she was there when we needed her and gave us updates on when to expect food etc, which was helpful. Easy parking. Just park in the front. We went on Thanksgiving Day (we'd forgotten until waitress told us) so they had a Turkey Dinner Special. I ordered this. The turkey was juicy and delicious. Also liked the sides of spaghetti squash and sweet yam. Potato was a bit undercooked and difficult to cut/eat. The ham was a bit salty for me. LOTS of cranberry sauce...we were hungry and finished everything except the cranberry sauce. Boyfriend ordered Linguini Ragout, which was very good. The garlic bread was average, but the pasta and sauce were 8 or 9 out of 10. Couldn't give it 5 stars because... the place smelled funky. Overall felt humid and smelled of...fertilizer, or something. Checked this place out for dinner and was not disappointed. For dinner however, the place has a slightly strange feel. Typical bar seating in front of the bar, and in the back, more of a cozy romantic thing going on with candles, outdoorsy decor, large paintings of wolf eyes staring at you, and a fireplace. The music was on the odd side. More on par with a dive since it started with 70's dance funk, and then went to 80's glam metal. They have a great selection of beer and wine. At its heart, it is a bar after all. However someone in the kitchen knows what they're doing back there. We went with one the specials: the pot pie. Funny enough the waitress said "we have pot pie? Oh well you get the first of the night!". Well that's pretty exciting. Someone has been waiting to unleash their pot pie creation on an unsuspecting customer. The pot pies were served in little soup bowls, and the pie bit on top was puff pastry. Inside it was a on the stew side, but my goodness, this was incredible stuff. Almost like a chicken veggie stew, with inspiration of coq au vin since the sauce was a red wine stew base inside. Put this on your normal rotation folks, it's a winner. It came with a ceasar salad which was also very good. Folks have a habit of drowning the leaves, but this was perfect. We're taking a staycation to Whistler for my birthday weekend. Even though Whistler ski season is pretty much done and May is around the corner, the Sea to Sky Highway is bare. Because there aren't any snow on the roads, we were able to enjoy the scenic along the drive. Vancouver, BC is beautiful when you got the city, the ocean and the mountains. We took our sweet time having breakfast and made Vietnamese coffee before we left Vancouver. By the time we got to Squamish we were more or less famished. Dave suggested that we head to The Nest Restaurant in Brackendale, BC. When we got there, it was closed. It was fate that we detoured to The Watershed Grill down the street on Government Road. We did a little Google-ing and saw that reviews were decent. You may be a little skeptical when you pull up to the driveway. It is like someone's backyard, a modest shed. When you climb up to the top of the stairs you are greeted with a gorgeous view of Eagle's Run - water, trail, beautiful mountain backdrop and a restaurant with front row seats. Open patio, inside bar, and a dining room area inside. Caesar Salt rimmed glass with a sharp spicy tomato cocktail with not just one "impotent" bean but two. This Caesar is a delightful surprise that brightens my day. I shall remember it and add it to my "list". REUBEN SANDWICH sauerkraut, swiss, yellow mustard, pickle, marble rye A deli favourite of a striking balance with a good helping of corned beef, a bit of cheese, heaps of sauerkraut, and plenty of Dijon. It brought back memories of Schwartz' in Montreal. PESTO CHICKEN LINGUINE Simple but well executed. The pasta was al dente, the chicken well-seasoned and flavourful. After having dinner here the night before, my family and I had to come back the next day for lunch before heading back just to try more of the great food. While visiting Canada, of course we had to try some seafood! I looked around on Google and found this place. Talked our group into checking it by showing them the extensive menu with a lot of seafood on it, including a delicious looking seafood platter. We all decided to give it a try. We waited for about 20 in for a table. After we sat, we were handed tiny little menus with a very small selection. I asked where the menu of seafood was and was told that was it. I showed the waitress the menu we had looked at online and she said it was an old menu and they revamped it. Bummer! They hardly had any seafood on it! Since we had been there so long, we just decided to order. I had the creole prawns and a small salad. Delicious! Being from New Orleans originally, I know creole food and damn, this was tasty! The salad was amazing as well! Our table ordered 7 pieces of cheesecake that we had seen another table order. We asked the price and was told it wasn't to bad, she wasn't sure of the actual price. Oh well, how much could a slice of cheesecake be? Um....$7.95 + $2.00 for ice cream is how much! It was good, but not $9.95 good! We waited a good 30 min for our desert. At that point, we were over it as we had already been there for 2.5 hours. Granted they were busy, but that was a long time! We tried to cancel the desert, but it came out right then. So, how does a guy from Dallas come to know about a place well off the highway in a small town in British Columbia? My girlfriend and I were on a vacation in Vancouver in January 2015. I had wanted to go to Vancouver Island to see Butchart Gardens and Victoria, so I inquired about it at the hotel. They advised that by the time we got to the island via ferry, we would have only a few hours to explore the gardens and Victoria before we would need to turn back to catch a return ferry. They recommended a sea plane to get there; this option was cost-prohibitive. They then suggested that a better day trip would be the drive from Vancouver to Whistler. They provided a list of things to see on the way including directions on reaching the Brackendale bald eagle habitat. We didn't see any bald eagles but it was lunchtime and we could smell an amazing smell coming from a restaurant that looked like little more than a waterside shack in this beautiful setting. We decided to try it and I'm glad we did! My girlfriend had a local beer that she found fantastic. I had to drive so no drinking for me, but had a hankering for a Caesar. The waitress said that she would get me one without alcohol, and it was pretty good for as far as non-alcoholic Caesars go. Each of us had a hamburger. We're both from beef-crazy Texas where the state university's athletic teams are named after cows and the pro football team is the Cowboys, but we both thought the burger here was top-notch. I'd place it in my top 20 burgers ever - and I've had a lot of great burgers. If we are ever back in Brackendale, we will be back. read more

I've been here many times. The service has always been slow; however, this time was unacceptable. We waited 30mins for a table, which was fine as it was busy. But we waited another hour and a half for our food (we know this because we looked at a call I made when I sat down) It was so long we thought they had forgotten about our food. When the food finally came, everything was cold! It was so bad that We had to ask if they could do something for our bill. They didn't even offer to make it right until we complained. After a visit to the Sea to Sky Gondola, my fiance and I were pretty hungry so we stopped by here because of the good reviews. We actually missed it the first time around and had to make a u-turn, so make sure you look for a white sign with blue writing. The entrance is not clearly marked and we couldn't find a host stand so we just stood around awkwardly waiting for someone to seat us. There was still some sunlight when we arrived and the view on the patio is really incredible. When the weather's nice, I could imagine how lovely it would be to hang out with friends and enjoy the food and view. We opted to sit inside since it was getting dark and cold. It took about 20 minutes for us to get a waiter to take our order and an hour and a half for us to get our food. (No, I'm not joking.) The waitress was not apologetic at all, even though we didn't complain. But an hour and a half is pretty ridiculous considering they were busy but NOT at capacity. I think we got the worst of it though because a couple next to us arrived 30 minutes after us but got their food at the same time. The parking lot is small but we were able to get a seat. Overall the food is actually very good. I really enjoyed the kale salad, seafood chowder, shed burger, and pulled pork sandwich. The baked brie was the standout and was served with delicious bread - so good! The rating would be higher if the service and wait time were actually decent. I wish I hadn't come in so hungry - I hadn't eaten in 9 hours - if I had known the wait would be so long I would've gone somewhere else. I just finished hiking the Sea to Summit Trail with a group of 4. I've eaten up on the mountain a couple of times so this time we decided to check out this place which was recommended by a colleague of one of the hikers I was with. This turned out to be a great decision. First, the restaurant is super unassuming. It just looks like a plain jane house on the side of the road. We actually drove past the first time then turned around. We drove past again! Even though it doesn't look like much from the front, once you go around to the entrance, you realize that this is a hidden gem. We had a seat on the patio and the unobstructed views of the Squamish River and surrounding mountains were absolutely spectacular. We each had a burger with either fries or salad. They were big and it was evident that they use quality meat and as a bonus, it was all organic and locally sourced. In addition, the fries were the perfect amount of crispy and the side of salad was more than enough. I don't know, maybe I was hungry after the hike but I thought it was great. I also thought the value was pretty good as the portions are big. I have read here that others received poor and slow service but that wasn't the case at all in my experience. The service was attentive and we didn't have to wait long at all to get our food. Overall, if you're in the area, be sure to stop by especially if it's a clear day so you can enjoy the view. This looked like it was the only property right on the river so they're able to capitalize on that. I can't think of anything negative to be honest. read more

Love the location of this place! Can't beat being right on the river. Can be hot on the patio in summer though - they could use some fans to circulate the air. The lay out is kind of funky, can be a bit cramped as there are a lot of groups there - it's a favourite spot for my hiking and outdoor club. The food is usually consistent and fresh, a couple of times the orders have looked a bit limp when the place was extra busy. Other times they seem to handle busy-times just fine.
