Came here for a Packers game and boy was this one of the best experiences I've ever had watching NFL football. I'm newish to NFL football and im a brand brand new Packers's fan thanks to my partner converting me. Not only did he manage to make me fall in love with him, but he also got me to fall in love with football. Like legitimately. Had you told me id be watching all the football games even 3 years ago, id have laughed at you. Anyway, so this was his first time ever in NYC and it was important for us not to miss the game so the fact that we found a Packers bar for the game was amazing. We arrived slightly after the game started but right at the first Packers touchdown and the place was packed to the brim. We made our way to the other side of the bar and there was a bit more wiggle room there so that's where we made ourselves comfortable for the rest of the game. I started off with Shirley Temples and then converted to beers. We ordered cheese curds (so freaking good) and wings (very meh) to eat. After the game we wanted to order more cheese curds but they had run out. That made me so sad. I had never been to a Packers bar before but I am so glad that I am a Packers fan because I swear that they are the best fans. Everyone is so unbelievably nice (49ers fans on the other hand ....). The music is such a fun addition to the mood. The band is talented and will indulge us with pop covers in their style even. Our buddy knows all the songs and he sings them all. Food was divine! We watched the NBA finals here and it didn't disappoint. So fun. Perfectly loud too. The bartenders were fine - nothing extraordinary, but maybe we aren't extraordinary ourselves! The Buffalo chicken sandwich is wow. So good. With blue cheese. Yum. The bun is great. Chicken is perfectly cooked. Buffalo is tangy. The fries are money. The cheese curds are an excellent appetizer. The Waylon often host live bands on the weekend with no cover charge. Otherwise, they mainly play country music in the background but sometimes a little too soft. This country bar definitely has a calmer and more reserved vibe compared to the other more rowdy and lively country bars in the city. They have Trivia on Tuesday nights, when it can get very crowded. Some of the patrons do have this snobby entitled vibe to them and tell you to move if you're sitting at a table by yourself, so they can sit with their friends. Beer prices are a bit higher than I'd prefer, but you can still get a $6 tall boy PBR here. Bartenders are always very friendly and service is excellent. read more

Maybe a piece or two? But wow. Worst Cobb salad I've ever had. I will never order from here again. Huge waste of money. You'll spend a lot and never be full coming here. Came during the holidays for catch ups with a friend that I hadn't seen in awhile. He lives in the bronx and I had been staying for awhile in Chelsea so meeting in Hell's kitchen was some kind of compromise. We went to a margarita place earlier and were looking for food that wasn't greasy Mexican and I decided I wanted cheese curds. Yeah, that's probably not much better. But it was necessary. And Yelp guided me to the Waylon. A place I actually had bookmarked for a really long time and god knows why because its a Green Bay Packers bar?! (No one gets this because I grew up in Michigan and we generally hate the Packers). So here we are. I'm going to say though, it's cozy. Decent beer selection. I think they actually comped a dollar off the beers for happy hour which I was surprised by because so many bars aren't even acknowledging happy hour these days. I had a nice brown ale I never heard of before. We ordered the cheese curds I absolutely needed and some fried pickles. The cheese curds come with hot sauce which is fine. But I wanted some kind of ranch. They don't have regular ranch but they pulled out a cheesy ranch aioli dipping sauce of sorts which is a serious upgrade. Cheese curds - AMAZING. Nice cheese pulls. Not too rubbery but with a slight squeak. The dipping sauces make it even that much more special. The fried pickles are a little unfortunate. They're sliced too thinly and I wasn't too keen on the batter. It lacks flavor. It's just deep fried wisps of pickle. Though, I'll say, the prices for bar/restaurant food in this area are incredibly reasonable. The burger on their menu which I have not tried is only $11. Same as most of their sandwiches and pretty much everything on the food menu is no more than $10-12. This is how a good bar with tasty bites should be. read more

Pleasant little Western-themed bar on 10th Ave. Due to the pandemic they currently don't have a happy hour, and the whiskey of the day is just the well whiskey. The bartender said they may bring these specials back in the Fall, but currently there's no planned date for when that will happen. Feel free to call and ask, though no one answered when I tried calling. I got a Coors Light draft (cold and crisp) while my girlfriend opted for the watermelon frozen margarita. Her drink was both sweet and sour, not very strong, and quickly melted. Based on the recommendations of other Yelpers we got an order of fried cheese curds, which are both greasy and delicious. You can press the curds in a napkin to squeeze out some of the extra oil, but wait until they've cooled a little or the melty cheese will just stick to the napkin. Sorry body! They're delicious. If they do end up bringing back happy hour I'll be glad to return and try more of the menu. read more

The best Packers bar they have classic Wisconsin foods and drinks, including cheese curds, brats, and bloody Mary's. I highly recommend doing a shotski after a Packers win! Unexpectedly a favorite stop on our bar tour in NYC. Buddy and I were in town for Springsteen on Broadway, and while most of the trip we visited the city's oldest bars, we somehow found ourselves in Hells Kitchen at The Waylon for dinner. Bartender was a Scottish-American who knew a little bit about everything. Couple seats down from us - a Swedish folk music teacher (he told all the jokes on himself before I could even get to them.) Bartender recommended the Steak tacos - I had three - and there were right on. Also had some friend cheese curds, of which were so good that we should all eat a bucket of every day. Came here for a Packer game while I was in NYC this past Sunday, and wow everything about this place is Packers!!! It was so great, for sure Packers country bar. Wings were great and crispy. You can learn about the "rest of the time" through other reviews and their menu. But for Packers games, there is no better place to watch every game with sound on, a Wisconsin-themed drink specials, and of course Wisconsin-fried food like fried pickles, fried cheese curds (omg these are amazing), and more! 3 giant TVs inside with lots of tables both inside and in the back (a well-lit porch area, outside). After every packers score, they play a familiar packers song as the entire bar goes crazy. I started coming to the Waylon early last year after trying Kettle of Fish (super cramped but good vibe), Three Monkeys, and The Stout. Since my first game here, I've not missed a single one, including this year even though I live in Brooklyn. Do NOT be scared away by the fact that it's a "country music bar." I don't love country music so I was expecting something else, but it turned out to be an amazing fun vibe. On Wednesdays, they have what is probably one of the best trivia nights in Manhattan hosted by Jeopardy champ Austin Rogers. I was blown away by the fact that he was here and I wondered out loud, "How many Jeopardy champions are there anyway?" A newfound friend (they come easily in this place) turned to me and said, "There are four." I thought to myself that there's no way there are only four Jeopardy champions, when I realized what he was actually trying to say: there were four champions in the bar AT THAT TIME. The food has been pretty standard pub fare the last few times I've been here, and the beer selection can be hit or miss if you're a beer snob like me, but Joe and Andy are kings, there's usually a good (and often attractive) crowd, and they have live music with some frequency. Have had a grand time here playing drunken darts late into the night, though the dartboard was conspicuously missing in my most recent visit (not my fault!). I came across this place looking for live music and it's no joke. Been here several times on Saturdays mostly because of Butch's band playing all types of rock, blues and country music, always a very upbeat experience. People even dance when the music hits them. Good stuff! read more
