The cod sandwich was delicious and really enjoyed our calamari and did and chips. They served a boat of curry sauce upon request - it was on the waterier side but I enjoyed it. Fish and chips were not greasy and meaty.

Right smack in the middle of touristybpart of NYC and high end Frufru restaurants lies this gem. Right on 55th, Cassidy delivers a hometown pub feel in the big city. Great beer list and solid burgers. Their special fries sauce is bomb. This is a not so fancy local pub that gives you a small town feel in the big city. When your craving small town, come on down

Teeny old fashioned and teeny salted caramel vodka hot chocolate. Drinks were delicious but really small (only a few sips) and $$$

Loved the Christmas decor. Loved the salted caramel vodka hot chocolate (so good!!) Female bartender was friendly, male, not so much. Drinks and food are pricey for what you get (old fashioned was only 1/2 glass and mostly ice. Both cocktails were only a few sips)

Stopped in during the St Patrick's Day parade and the place was nicely decorated and packed. Even with the crowd, the staff were super friendly and attentive. We lucked out and got a table outside where we enjoyed soup, a Rueben, and pastrami sandwich. All the food was good and flavorful. Great experience. The few members of the staff we interacted with had Irish accents, which added to the experience.

We went after a show around 11pm and were glad they were still serving. It is a casual spot. Very noisy which is expected in a popular pub. We both had the chicken pot pie. Mine was cooked nice with plenty of vegetables and chicken but could have used some seasoning. It was kinda bland. Nevertheless it was okay and hit the spot. Service was a little slow but not bad. The fact that the kitchen was open late was a big plus.

We came upon Cassidy's as we were walking around after seeing the tree at Rockefeller Center and waiting for a 10pm show at Radio City. Luckily, we decided to venture past the line of food trucks as I began to think there were no restaurants in site. Just as we were giving up hope, my wife spotted Cassidy's. The vibe inside was awesome! Very casual and very relaxing. Everyone inside was very welcoming and helpful. I started with Casdidy's Ale, which was so good, I made it two. I then began with the French Onion Soup. This may have been one of the best that I've had. For dinner, my wife and I went with the Shepherd's Pie and the kid went with Cassidy's burger. The Shepherd Pie was amazing. Ground sirloin with veggies topped with mashed potatoes AMF the gravy it was in was out of this world. If we weren't pressed for time, I would've found room for dessert but that'll be saved for the next time we're in the area. If every in that area and looking for a place to eat or grab a drink, this is a must try.

Average pub food with horrible service, with the audacity to automatically factor in a 20% tip.

The "Perfect" Pint is apparently a far cry from reality…read more Our server, Ruffino, seemed perfectly cordial at first, but that changed rather quickly when we discovered a 20% automatic gratuity added to our bill without any prior notice. We didn't find out about this little surprise until the check was placed on our table. Nothing like discovering an extra charge at the end of your meal that apparently everyone was supposed to know about except the customers. We went downstairs to the host stand and asked to speak with a manager. We were informed that there was no manager on duty--apparently, just a staff of bartenders. When we questioned the automatic gratuity, we were told that all orders over $100 automatically receive a 20% gratuity. There was just one small problem: we had never been informed of this policy, nor did we see it posted anywhere. We politely asked for the charge to be removed since it had not been disclosed to us. We were told there was "nothing that could be done." Naturally, we then went back to Ruffino and asked to speak with his boss. We were promptly brought the exact same person we had already spoken with downstairs--who then proceeded to tell Ruffino to remove the gratuity. So apparently, there was something that could be done. Good to know. Unfortunately, the situation then went from questionable customer service to outright disrespect. During the interaction, our experience working in the food service industry was insulted, and we were told, and I quote: "I feel bad for whatever establishment you worked for because I know it was S**T. Get the F**K out and never return." Classy. For the record, there were only four people in our party. The establishment's own gratuity guidelines state that a 20% automatic gratuity applies to parties of six or more, not four. So let's recap: * A 20% gratuity was added without being disclosed. * We were told it applied because our order exceeded $100. * We were unable to find this policy posted anywhere. * We were initially told nothing could be done about the charge. * Someone subsequently instructed Ruffino to remove it, proving that something could, in fact, be done. * And when we questioned the situation, we were insulted and told to leave and never come back. Honestly, the last part was the easiest request to accommodate. If "Perfect" is supposed to describe the customer experience here, I'd hate to see what happens at an establishment that's merely average. As for the request to "never return"--don't worry. We won't. Some establishments manage to make that decision remarkably easy for you.

Service from the bartender was great. I ordered the fish and chips and a Bloody Mary. Everything was great up till then. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. Maybe it was a deep fat fryer thing, but I respectfully suggest the cook be given a little additional training. The fish batter was hard on the outside, and the fish was completely mushy on the inside. Like, gray mush. The fries were lukewarm. The mushy peas and the tartar sauce were served in little covered plastic disposable containers. I'm not a fan of that, but I get it is convenient. I truly wanted to like this place, and except for my one experience with the food, I would certainly return. People were having fun, and I did as well. I believe if they become a little more attentive in the kitchen, this place is a five star pub.

I stumbled across this Irish Pub with a Rooftop view of the street by chance looking for a coffee…read moreshop. The rooftop view appealed to me much more than hanging out in a coffee shop. Since my favorite beer is Guinness. Figured it was time to get it while waiting for a friend at the theater nearby. I was glad that the waitress at the bar downstairs was really friendly and gave me directions to take the elevator up to the rooftop. I didn't realize this pub was shared with another pub next door. The elevators was located in between the 2 pubs. While getting to the elevator, it seems there was an attendant that brought guests up on the cozy little elevator. Though, there were no attendants later in the day. The waitress mentioned I could bring my glass up with me to the roof. So I did. Thought it was because I'm a woman but then this older Caucasian woman came to sit next to me and they came to her right away (I'm a woman of color). I even had to flail my arms just to get the tab and I can tell that it's their routine to ignore a certain demographic. I was only here because my friend had to meet up with my work colleagues so I thought I would grab a seat at the bar and enjoy a quick burger before heading out for birthday festivities. The burger and fries were good and the rooftop is nice. I have no desire to return but it's probably what they want.
