    Outside, down a bit

Nice bar with OK food. Came out to see Purple Alt play- great time!!!! The band bar is under Homestead, outside stairs. Service was really good, no complaints there. Prices are normal for these days, but $9.00 PER BEER. Tropicalia, but NOT necessary to charge these prices. I think I was drinking Miller- they didn't have Coors- so odd! Anyway, the pork fries were pretty good- Loved the cut. The grit cubes were really good. I hear the pimento balls were good. We'll be back for another show!!!

    Pretzel Bites - $8

For starters - not sure if our waiter was just high or had the millenial zero fs attitude. First thing he says. "I'm kinda tired, but I guess I'm taking care of yall tonight". It was 8pm, but anyway-- it was entertaining at least. Ordered pretzel bites as an app -$8. 8 burned pretzel bites came out, $1 a piece apparently. No sauce. Asked the waiter if it came with cheese. He kinda muttered -"oh yeah, it's supposed to have cheese.....huh, I forgot to put it on there" brought me a 2oz plastic ramekin of watery cheese dip. Getting less entertaining now. Ordered the Reuben. Didn't bother to cut it in half as you would think for presentation and consumption ease. It was good though. Better be for $22. Not the greatest experience. Coulda been worse.

We were craving burgers and this place did not do it for us. The burgers were cold and tasted okay. Nothing special. The fries were cold. The Fried Pimento Cheese app was salty. The only thing that tasted good were the wings. Service was good. Sports bar.

    Gouda and jalapeno grit bites

Had a quick stop in for an appetizer and a couple of drinks before dinner at Homestead upstairs. We had an amazing evening. Food: we got jalapeno Gouda grit bites with a honey mustard dipping sauce that was sooooooo good. My husband had an old fashioned and I had a glass of wine and it was all delicious. Service: our server was AMAZING. I THINK he said his name was Ofad but I didn't ask him to repeat it. Anyway- he was so attentive gave great recommendations and told us to come back other nights when they have fun activities. He said they do trivia, line dancing and bingo. We will definitely be back. Ambiance: it was lovely, good music, comfy seating and a stage setting up for a band at 9:00 pm. Parking: good parking in the parking garage

Not impressed at all. $14 for a cocktail in a plastic cup that didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it (all juice). This isn't Atlanta. I can go to Avalon or Alpharetta and pay those prices and get a much better drink for the same price with a nice view. We weren't even interested in trying anything else after that. The seats were uncomfortable and it was more of a bar feel than a restaurant.

Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well so I only ate a bit of a Caesar salad & half of Brussel sprout from a friend but both were delicious.

Our server, Mikayla, was attentive and sweet, and made sure we were good without hovering. I didn't expect such good service because it was super full in there as we went for Easter Brunch . The first time I came, I had a different server and didn't have the best experience, so I was a little unsure about coming back but this visit changed that. I feel a need to mention that the hosts were amazing . There was a older man i did not get his name but i got the girls name, Trinity. She has been there both times i've came and is always welcoming, and helpful, which really sets the tone. The dim lighting and comfortable seating also made the experience even better. Side note: the "Loaded Pancakes" was really good and worth trying. Overall, a much better experience this time around . I'd come back again.

There were nine of us--not exactly a tiny table, but hardly the kind of group that should throw a restaurant into chaos. To be fair, we did wait for two people in our party before ordering food. It was probably 20-30 minutes, and we made it very clear to our server that we were waiting. We also weren't just camping out at the table. We started with drinks while we waited, so the restaurant was already making money from our table before the kitchen ever had to cook a single thing. Once everyone arrived, we placed one order together. No staggered tickets, no special requests, no unnecessary complications. The thing is... the restaurant was practically empty. If anything, I would've thought they'd be happy to have a table of nine on a slow brunch. Instead, it felt like we were an inconvenience. Once we finally ordered, it was another 30-plus minutes before much of anything happened. Our waitress wasn't rude, but she also wasn't particularly interested in us being there. She checked the boxes, but just barely. It felt less like hospitality and more like someone waiting for the end of their shift. What made the whole experience even stranger was looking around the restaurant. It wasn't busy, yet several employees seemed to be standing around talking while we sat waiting. During the hour or two we were there, I think only a couple of other parties came through the door. At one point there were two hostesses managing what amounted to a trickle of guests while tables that were already seated waited on drinks, food, and attention. Maybe there's more going on behind the scenes than I could see, but from where we were sitting, it felt less like they needed more people and more like they needed to use the people they already had a little better. Then came the mimosas. These were less mimosas and more "suggestions of citrus." It was basically champagne with a couple thoughts of orange juice. At one point we had to ask for more orange juice just to get it to the legally recognized definition of a mimosa. They tasted like champagne that heard flavored sparkling water was popular and decided to reinvent itself. There was a whole lot of "mim" and not much "osa." At nearly $14 each, I expected something a little more festive and a little less... chemistry experiment. For food, I ordered the Fried Green Tomato Benny: two biscuits, fried green tomatoes, poached eggs, Cholula hollandaise, and fresh fruit. On paper, that's a fantastic brunch. In reality, it was aggressively average. Nothing was quite hot enough. The biscuits had crossed that invisible line between baked and overbaked, where every bite makes you wonder if they're fresh or just committed to the bit. The whole dish felt like it had spent just a few too many minutes waiting for someone to remember it existed. And then there was the fruit. You know the kind of fruit bowl where every piece somehow tastes exactly the same because it's been sitting in the same juice for hours? That's what this was. Cheap melon, tired grapes, and enough pooled juice to ensure every bite shared the same identity crisis. To top it all off, the Benny was around $18, and the mimosas were pushing $14 each. I'm not going to call it a scam because words have meanings. Nobody tricked us. The prices were right there on the menu. We knew exactly what we were doing. We just expected the experience to justify it. On the bright side, the restaurant looks like it was designed by someone who has never met food, but has definitely met Pinterest. And honestly, it shows. Modern farmhouse, soft lighting, curated everything--it nails the aesthetic. Which is great, because you'll have plenty to look at while everything else catches up. It's funny how common this is now: it's easier than ever to make something look finished. You can polish the surface until it feels complete, even when the inside still isn't. Anyway--great aesthetics. The rest feels like it's still figuring itself out.

It was easy to find with plenty of parking, and although it looked like they were preparing for an event later that evening, everything was still open and running smoothly. The property was clean and well-kept, with live music set up and playing outside, which added to the atmosphere. We ordered at a counter. I chose the sweet selection and my daughter chose the white wine flight. Each flight included four 2 oz pours and cost $60 total. We were informed there was also a food truck on-site. We tried the pimento cheese dip and hummus platter--both were enjoyable, though a bit pricey (I don't recall the exact amounts). The vineyard has a large covered patio as well as another seating area with sun shades. Most tables were occupied, and several guests had brought their dogs, which added a relaxed, welcoming feel. While I enjoyed the overall experience, I did find the wines and food a bit on the expensive side, especially given the bottle prices listed on the tasting menu (ranging roughly from $36 to $75). I didn't end up purchasing any bottles for that reason. Overall, it was a pleasant visit and a nice way to spend Father's Day. I'd consider coming back again--possibly in the fall, and bringing my dog next time.

It's a 1920s school turned into a theater, with a majority of the original school intact. I was able to get some last minute tickets for the show, The Producers, literally 2 hours before the play. Cost was not bad at all, $25/person. They offer a VIP experience too, for another $25/person, that comes with heavy hors d'ouevres and non-alcoholic drinks (not offered on Sundays). Parking was not bad. We got there early and ordered drinks from the bar (fairly full bar of offerings). Costs on alcohol were not bad either. It was fun touring the school house and seeing all the old pictures of class photos taken there, and all the frames photos of previous plays put on. Even the school rooms had the window above the doorway. There is also a restaurant in back with some great mural art/paintings on the wall. The theater was fairly large and presented well, with cushy seats and convenient drink holders. My expectations were low and I was very much surprised by the skill level of the cast and how well the show was run. I've never been to Broadway but I've been to the Fox, and this show would equal some of the stuff I've seen there or at other theaters. Very talented cast! The show was also incredible. Overall, this was a wonderful visit. If you live in the area, you'd be crazy not to check out a show here!
