My friends and I often go to Good Ol' Days for lunch and normally I would give you a 5 Star review. I was home with a bad cold and my husband wanted wings and tater tots and I asked him to get me my favorite spinach salad with the Hot bacon dressing and salmon. The bags were tied up tight so my husband assumed they checked that it was complete and didn't ask that the bags be cut open and checked and then need new bags. So I just want you to know that spinach salad and salmon is pretty horrible without any dressing. Half the salad and salmon had to be thrown out as it might have been great with the requested dressing, but plain it was dry, there were even no onions to give it flavor. I did have a really bad dressing in the our house, that my husband liked, but since I was sick, I had no dressings in the house and was too tired to even bend over and hunt up vinegar for an oil and vinegar dressing. Very disappointed with this basic salad that couldn't be packaged correctly on a slow and uncrowded night. This was pretty unexpected from a favorite lunch spot for the pottery girls , and my husbands favorite place for wings. His blue cheese was packed with my salad and his ketchup was packed with my salad. I went to here for an 80s band with my friends to grab some food and watch the band super excited! Nice place to stop for an afternoon snack, very busy today due to the 9/11 festivities in the parking lot. Many veteran MC Riders in house so very good to see that. YUENGLING draft is outstanding, the waitresses are running their butts off to make sure everyone is taken care of. No arguments from the patrons we understand. Had the Philly Cheese Steak with Fries, great sandwich very full. Was warm when I got it, would have loved to give them 5 stars just very long getting food and drinks out. Definitely a locals bar. Which is my kind of place. But the main killer for me here is they allow smoking inside and literally everyone sitting at the bar is smoking. So plan on washing your hair a lot to get it out for the next few days. Once you get past that, the bartenders are friendly and they pour large drinks. My husband and I came for lunch while we were having my tires serviced at SORS. We walked in and were told we can sit anywhere. Very friendly staff and service was great. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad. My husband ordered wings naked extra crispy. At other restaurants the wings aren't extra crispy. They were here. Food was good. The restaurant is a smoking restaurant. At least the big bar area was. We aren't smokers and only one woman was smoking while we were there. Not very busy for lunch. I was the DD for a group of 4 people Saturday night where our friend wanted to go to this bar to see a specific band. We met a group of 5 others that go to the bar atleast 2 times a week. Upon entry at 8:30pm none of our group was carded. We found the other group with buckets of beer and wings at a large table and the crowd was already heavy. The cigarette smoke was in full force as well. The band was good and there were plenty of women dancing. This is where it gets strange. My husband walks to the bar because our server never brought his drink and he started a tab. A few folks started talking to him at a high top next to the bar and he motioned for me to come over and meet them. At that moment a very young security member came over and told him that he appeared to be drunk and needed to get himself together. The older couples asked him if he was joking and laughed. He said no I think he is wasted. He was standing up talking to these people doing nothing wrong and had just gotten his first drink. 30 or so minutes later we make our way back to our table and have to assist a woman named Heidi from falling over and get her safely back to her husband. No security guard seemed to care. The bathroom was disgusting and full of dirty toilet paper wads and full toilets along with drunk people propped up but no issues were addressed by staff. As I sit with my husband along the side wall of the bar he leans over to kiss me and the same security guard comes over and taps him several times on his feet that were propped in a stool and says he gas to stay awake. He responds and says I am awake and fine. I told the young guy that he was fine and I am also sober and getting him and several others home. My husband then goes to get drink 2. When he comes back the guy comes around again and says he can't be asleep. I laughed and said he was just at the bar and in the bathroom he isn't asleep. 30 minutes later after our friend took tons of photos and the lady Heidi had knocked over a stool and almost fell so we again help her up and no security notices this nor her and her husband holding each other up exiting the bar and driving away in their car the security guard comes over hits my husband's feet again and says he has to go he can't stay awake. I assure him he us fine and he tells me it is for his safety. He brings us his credit card from the bar with his whopping 2 drinks and tells us we have to keave. I try to reason with him and tell him I am getting him and others home safely and this will impact them as well and explain he us making me feel like he thinks I am not responsible or as if my husband was starting fights or getting out of control but nope he is too calm. And needs to pay and leave. He paid and then told the guy we would never be back. He humiliated us for my husband being to calm in a bar where you don't ID, smoking is allowed and pregnant women walk about. People do whatever in the bathroom and you can fall out the front door to your car but don't be too calm or have a sober driver or you will get kicked out. The regulars we were with have never seen this before wither. I believe this guy didn't like my husband from the start and we won't be back. read more

I've been coming here to see the live music for nearly two years now. I love this place! My wife and I have made many great friends here. I'm really amazed at how they offer so much free entertainment nearly every night of the week and are able to keep the prices affordable. There is a nice beer selection and I've never been disappointed in the food. Dead Affect is one of my favorite bands to see here but I've seen several other great ones. We had a new server last night that I had never seen before and he was outstanding. He introduced himself upon our first drink, but dang, I forgot his name. This is a bar. They allow cigarette smoking in 2021. It's a big place so you can almost get away from the smoke, almost. There were 100 people in there when we got there. 98 of them were jammed 3 deep around the bar smoking cigarettes and throwing back beers. Know to expect this if you go. We had supper and loved the food. Wedge salad was heavy with bacon and blue cheese chunks. Authentic rueben sandwich was loaded with mean and correctly prepared. Service was agreeable and in formative. Saturday nights are catching up with the decor and furnishings. Potato salad was exceptionally good. It was a delicious meal and we cannot wait to return. read more

I can't really find much that I liked about this place, except it was crowded. I was traveling for (you guessed it, marching band stuff) and I found two late-night bar places in Cumming. I couldn't decide which one to try out, so I drove by both. The crowd was pretty small at one place, but at Good Old Days, it was PACKED. I sat at one of the bars and had a couple of beers. The second actually didn't come for nearly fifteen minutes. To the bartender's credit, he didn't charge me for it. There was a decent beer selection, but the wings that I had were pretty basic. In fact, maybe they were a step south of basic. Interesting music selection, too. For a while, there was a Southern-rock cover band. When they finished, it became a hip-hop DJ. The place is big, dark, and very smoky. I hadn't been in a smoke-legal bar in a few years. I won't be back to this one, either. read more

What can be said about Good Ol' Days? Simply that it's THE de facto watering hole in Cumming. A large venue that has several bars, pool tables, patio, live music and probably the best opportunity to observe the natives in their own habitat. For people watchers, this can be your Mecca depending on when you go. You can always count on a parking lot full of motorcycles outside and at least two or three, or several inebriated customers inside. On my last visit two men were actually comparing penises at the bar with a significantly older bleached blonde judging their units. If every Craigslist regular included a face picture along with the one of their genitalia, you would probably see them all here. The regulars here all seem to know each other, most likely in the biblical way, and it generally has the feel of a well used jacuzzi. As a bar, you really can't find a better spot with full bar, great bartenders, cheap beer and great service. As others have mentioned, smoking is allowed here, including cigars so feel free to smoke 'em if you got 'em. read more

Service was great! The bartender Kat is really attentive and nice. The food was treated with good Irish love. My friend and I stopped in for lunch and got the lunch only specialties, "the Santa Anna" and "the Vinny de paulo". It was delicious unlike big corporate chains. My husband and I have eaten here several times and it gets better each time. Food is fresh and delicious. Nothing like traditional bar food, it's so above that level it's surprising. The servers and bartenders are friendly, helpful with suggestions and prompt with food, refills and any request. The armosphere is awesome and they can't be beat for live music. We have recently moved nearby and look forward to spending lots of time enjoying this awesome spot. Must try's- The burger. Tuna crisps. French onion soup. Fried mushrooms. Raw oysters. Let me set the scene. A pair of 25 and 26 year old white women walk in with a pair of 27 year old black men to get some burgers. One very nice young woman told us to grab any seat we want. However, the bartender immediately asked for our IDs. She did not ask anybody else who walked in to see theirs and we were not going to be drinking, but we showed them anyway. She walked back to the kitchen to "show her manager," yelling very loudly that "these are clearly fake!" I will let you in on a not-so-secret secret: they are all 100% valid. She came back a few moments later saying that they were fake and they can't serve us but that she can either keep them or call the police. I told her to go ahead and call because we can't drive anywhere without them. She walked back into the kitchen for quite a while, came back and said she wasn't calling the police but that we can have our IDs back, however they will not serve us and we needed to leave. Once again, we never asked for alcoholic beverages. We didn't even sit down. This was a disgusting display of racism and horrible service. The bartender took our drivers licenses and told us they were fake and threatened to keep them or call the cops. We told her to call the cops and 10 minutes later she decided to give them back and refuse to serve us. This is a nice place. Very open and clean. Great wait staff, very attentive and friendly. I have not been out in years. Loving the place so far. I am fairly new to Cumming and this new year I decided I would start to venture out. Maybe try to find a good place to go do karaoke and maybe make some new friends. The website said they start karaoke at 8:00 but that is wrong, ( Strike 1 ) They start at 9:00. Which is really late for me to start my night. I'm not a fan of the Karaoke DJ and here is why. My first time here. I am the first person on a blank pad to put a song in but like the 10th person to sing after an hour or so of waiting. So far I have found that the Karaoke DJ has his regulars and that is who he let's sing. My second time here and he comes out with a pen & pad and walks out to his regular people. I see him with the pad and I try to put my song in early so I don't wait so long this time. At his first table and he starts talking to one of his regular singers. So I wait to the side. I over hear him tell him " I want to get you in before you get toasted buddy." He gets his song written down. Looks dead at me. I can tell he knows I am waiting to talk to him. Then he just walks away from me. So I followed to the next table. Thinking maybe he was looking at someone behind me. At the next table it happens again. So then I stop following. Thinking why is he avoiding me. What the hell did I do to deserve being treated like this? I watch him walk around the room going to each of his regulars writing down their songs. Once he starts back towards the bar I catch him. He seems annoyed that I have stopped him. I give him my name and song. He then tells me it will be like an hour and fifteen minutes before I might be able to sing. I understand and say okay. I sit for 2 hours waiting. Watching his singers go twice even three times. The place is packed. I finally go up to him again. I ask, " Am I still on the list?" He says, " what's your name again?" I see him look over his pad for my name and he can't find it. Meaning, he didn't right me down the first time. He just pretended to and he now needs my song choice again. ( Strike 2 ) Suddenly he decided to let me sing. So you tell me if you were in my position, would you come back here for karaoke or look for another place to spend your time and money? I am going to give it one more shot. If it happens again I will not be coming back for any reason. read more
