We started with the hummus, and the vegetables that came with it were amazing!! Super fresh and actually so flavorful. Definitely not your average hummus plate. I got the steak and eggs, and the potatoes were FIRE. So garlicky and flavorful, easily my favorite part of the whole meal. I also tried the Caesar wrap which honestly wasn't my favorite, just mostly lettuce tbh. But everything else was incredible so it didn't really take away from the experience. It's everything you know and love about The Well downtown, but with more parking! That alone makes it worth driving the extra 15 - 20 minutes, honestly. Plus, there's some nice outdoor seating so you can bring your dog. I will say that the prices are more than I can justify on a regular basis, but it feels like a nice, reasonably healthy splurge. The dishes are thoughtfully composed, well seasoned, and always fresh. Avocado toast is usually a throwaway offering, but they do it right here, fully loaded with pesto, heirloom tomato, and a ton of avocado. There have been some recent changes that are a bummer though. I'm really sad that they seem to have taken the vegan chorizo and potato hash off the menu, which was simply the best brunch dish. Happy hour options are also greatly reduced, leaving very little for vegans, and I'm sorry but on what planet is $8 for pickles a good deal? We sat outside and loved the outdoor seating, they do have fans outside but it gets hot. My friend raved about The Well Westlake so I decided to try it. Monday was very cold with about a 20 degree drop in temperature. Therefore, I was primed for some hot coffee especially a latte. To The Well I went. I did not see any appealing coffees, so I went with peppermint hot chocolate, which I was told was one of the most popular drinks. The hot chocolate was quite delicious, however, in one of the smallest coffee cups I have seen. The hot chocolate was pricey for its size. The Well has a Zen feel from the greenery in the restaurant to the large windows. Overall, it is a small restaurant yet cozy. The menu appears to be varied with many options. According to their hostess, they use clean ingredients, along with local and sustainable farming. I would consider returning to try a lunch or brunch item. read more

Third visit: September 14, 2025 The Well is quickly becoming our neighborhood "don't want to cook dinner" spot. It's healthy, fairly reasonably priced, and good food. We finally were able to bring my sister to give her a taste on the last night of her recent trip. My mom made reservations and we were seated immediately. There was ample parking on a Sunday night, compared to our previous experience on a Saturday. Could also be the hour, as we are early dinner-people. We shared the taco flight, brussels sprouts, and fingerling potatoes. I finally got to try the spinach pesto pasta (with added chicken for protein) that I look at longingly on the menu each time I've been here before. I KNEW I had already tried the coconut curry squash, because it sounded so familiar! Everything was lovely as always. The only comment is that you can get better tacos elsewhere in Austin but this is probably still the healthier choice, even though they broke apart easily. The brussels and potatoes are a hit with their crunchy and flavorful textures. Had a good group brunch here. Server was super friendly and checked up on us. Restaurant is pretty with a clean and crisp interior. I really liked the Chicken Caesar Salad wrap with bacon. I liked the tangy and tiny spicy kick sauce (it's not a white creamy ceasar dressing). Someone in the group tried it but didn't like it. It came with big chunks of white chicken. So delicious in my opinion! There's also an option to add extra chicken if you're super hungry. Someone else ordered the pecan chicken salad sandwich and liked it. I tried it and it was ok. Maybe because I liked my wrap better. There weren't pecans in it or at least not a pecan taste but it definitely was healthy. Someone else got the wagyu beef sandwich and really liked it. The Well consistently delivers a quality dining experience. brought some friends who were first timers and they were all blown away at their meal. Clarabelle provided friendly attentive service. We enjoyed lettuce wraps and the beet salad for appetizer. Friends tried the Mezcal and rum cocktails, which were unique and refreshing. We enjoyed the squash curry, make you steak, pesto, pasta, sautéed mushroom, and sweet potato. For dessert, we tried the chocolate mousse, the apple crumble and the violet ice cream. So, here's the thing about The Well. Is it good? Yes. Both their food and their wine selection are excellent. They make healthy food taste great. I've had their salmon and a few of their salads. However, I find myself underwhelmed by this place. It feels so snobby and so very "Westlake." If you are a local here in Austin, you know what that means. Upon arrival, I noticed the outside space. There were several picnic tables on one side and some two tops on the other side. It was chilly but they had some portable heaters. There is a small bar with about six chairs. We were sat at a two top table. There was plenty of room in between the tables. They have cozy looking tables along the wall. One side is a booth and the other side has chairs. Each table is "dressed" with glasses and silverware along with a tiny candle. They bring a pitcher of water which is always nice instead of asking for more water. They have happy hour from 3-5. There are several apps that are $9 and half price glasses of wine. We got avocado toast and salmon ceviche. Both were delicious. The avocado toast looked lovely but it was tricky to eat. The avocado was sliced thin so when you bit into it they often slid off. If you are careful, it stays intact. The bread was great! The salmon ceviche was refreshing. We both wished it had come with more crackers/chips. The presentation of everything was lovely. Yesterday I visited this location with my family. As repeat customers of over two years, this experience was very disappointing. We have continued to support this restaurant because of its clean ingredients and concept, but the quality of service has noticeably declined. After being seated, it took about 10 to 15 minutes before anyone came to greet us or bring water. During that time, we saw multiple servers nearby rolling silverware, but no one acknowledged our table. When our server finally came, we were given water but not asked if we were ready to order. We had to let someone know we were ready to order. After that, our original server never returned. Other staff members ended up finishing our table, and when we asked about her, we were told she had stepped away. There was no communication and no follow-up. We shared our concerns with the staff member who finished our table, but there was no real attempt to make things right beyond a brief apology. For a meal totaling around $70 for three people, we expected a higher level of service and attentiveness. Overall, the experience felt dismissive, and we will not be returning. read more

I'm sure you could specifically ask for the whip. They have a special agave liqueur called Bandero that is good to pair with the PSL. Unfortunately the espresso Martini fell a little short for me because it was bitter and didn't have enough sweetness that I'm used to. The iced vanilla maca was OK. It just had a weird flavor profile that I guess I'm not used to. It was definitely one of the more expensive brunches I've had. Then we got their Salmon Tartare (a signature appetizer) and their guacamole, no jalapeños, to make it kid friendly. My son's exact words...."This is delicious". Oh. My. God. This place is my dream. Everything on their menu is gluten free, but don't let that stop you if have no issues with gluten. You'll never know it's wheat free. I had the bolognese. The sauce was spectacular and the pasta was perfect (none of that rubbery, tasteless consolation prize pasta so many places serve.) My daughter had the flight of tacos and they were delicious.
