I've been excited to go to Josephine House as I love the Clarksville area and restaurants that look like houses just draw me in! I went for brunch and thought the service was very good. The space, vibe, and decor both inside out were great. For the food, we had a pastry (very good), the pancakes, avo toast, sides of bacon and scrambled eggs. The lemon ricotta pancake was great! I thought the avo toast was also pretty good. The sides were more ehhh with my scrambled eggs being undercooked and underwhelming and the bacon being mostly fat and not crisply. While i love the decor (especially the outside where they have like almost these little cabanas), the tables, silverware, flatware etc didn't feel like the freshest and cleanest. So overall, I would def return as it's a good spot, but not in a rush to put in on a rec list or bring friends/family visiting. I will, however, be daydreaming about the pancakes often - they are some of the best i've had!.

This. Place. Best breakfast spot I have had in a long time. The atmosphere was adorable- quiet, cute tables, and outdoor seating filled with flowers. The staff was warm and welcoming- we stumbled across this spot and asked for a reservation (no same day reservations here!) but they said while they do not take them, they will seat us early. The food: absolutely delicious!! Freshly baked croissants, scones, and pecan rolls started us off, and our group tried the huevos rancheros, shrimp and grits, and citrus smoked salmon. If you come, highly recommend the salmon or the huevos rancheros!! Crunchy, fresh, delicious... doesn't get much better than that

Josephine House is an escape from Austin....on a corner with limited parking but a treasure. We showed up in between brunch and dinner so we were kindly allowed to sip or tea/drinks and enjoy some bread while we waited. Services so exceptional and the food as well. We ordered the lamb bolognese and steak frites. The frites were perfection and the steak cooked to tender juiciness. They serve it with a house steak sauce unlike others with chimicurri. I would gladly order this again. The Bolognese was a modern take on the traditional and ver filing. I would say a shareable size. We do plan to come back for brunch. I will say reservations are encouraged and help the experience be seamless. It was a rainy day when we went and there's no other place I would rather be then here tucked in a cozy , welcoming, spirited place as Josephine House.

This is an adorable spot in Clarksville with a nice outdoor patio and repurposed-vintage-home vibes. The menu is pretty unique and eclectic - albeit, PRICEY. The drinks are wonderfully crafted. I had the Beef Tartare with Whipped eggplant Dip ($22), and BF had the Spring Lamb Ragu ($36). The tartare was super interesting, it was heavy on the Middle Eastern spices and oils. The pasta was delicious and very generous on the protein - I loved the fresh pea shoots and gamey taste. The portions are huge - we definitely could have split an entree! The staff are polite and warm.

We visited Josephine House last night and it is super cute , like having dinner in Martha Stewart's backyard. The decor is charming, the vibe is cozy, and our server was genuinely sweet without being pushy (which I always appreciate). The schnitzel was pretty damn good and huge. I loved how fresh and herb-forward everything tasted. "For to drink": Go for the Scarlet Sun -- a coconut-washed bourbon cocktail that'll get you buzzed but still feels light and refreshing. The hamachi was great, but I wanted a better crudo-to-grapefruit ratio. Great wine selection though. Overall a little pricey for what it is. I'll definitely be back to try brunch. MML Hospitality, you did it again.

Such a cute restaurant! It looks like a house! We scootered our way over to the restaurant. We had a 9am reservation after at day at ACL and were in need of some good breakfast! We ordered some green juice and coffee to start. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and hubby ordered the steak and eggs. I wanted to walk you up to their bar with all the pastries but it was their "kitchen". I loved the pancakes but they put a bit too much toppings on top I didn't care for. My husband loved his!

Austin is flooded with so many average brunch spots just like this: places that rely on quality ingredients to justify jacking up the prices all while serving these standard, generic, forgettable dishes that lack inspiration. It's culinary noise taking up space but not really elevating the food scene. For that same money, I'd rather support a spot that brings bold flavors, creativity, or maybe global influence to the table. At least give me something memorable. Places like this are a dime a dozen, but I guess if you just want "OK", it's an option. The Good: Service is excellent. Warm, attentive, and efficient. Also, the nugget ice here is a small but mighty win in the brutal Texas heat, especially if you're dining outside. The Meh: The food is HUHHHHHH. To be fair, it's quality ingredients executed in a general well-prepared manner, but it's boring, safe, and...unimaginative. The best way to describe it. There's nothing culinary-forward or inspiring happening here. And for the price point of the dishes, the lack of creativity is hard to justify.

Brunch was great at Josephine House! The avocado toast was super flavorful. Not incredibly filling so I'd recommend getting a pastry. The lemon ricotta pancakes were delicious. They were super fluffy and fresh, I'd definitely get these again. The service was good but not outstanding. Also, it does get a little loud inside if it's crowded. The building is very cute and I loved all the flowers. Make sure to make a reservation because this place fills up quick!

Absolutely lovely. The vibe, interior, service, and food. We sat inside and ordered the hamachi, foccacia with whipped feta (need recipe), and greens (simple but oh so delicious) to start. And for our main we split the schnitzel and chicken. Both were good sized portions and so tasty. If we lived here it would be a normal spot. Again, so very lovely.

This place is both beautiful and exceptional! The cozy atmosphere, both inside and out, enhances the experience. All the dishes were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Everything was cooked to perfection and fairly priced. I highly recommend this establishment. The food was absolutely delicious--an excellent choice for brunch in Austin!

My friend came across Josephine's House via an Instagram post and wanted to try it out! It is really cute on the inside w/ limited seating so def make a reservation. We shared the buttered croissant which was flaky on the outside and very buttery breading. I ordered the lox and chef's kiss; love the layering of the sour cream, hash brown, and lox. My friend ordered the huevos rancheros; interesting how they place the egg and toppings atop a tostado chip to easily pick up and consume. The only reason I have 4 stars is because the temperature of the food was room temperature when delivered to the table. But other than that, this is a definite must try in the Austin area!

Cappuccino in back and masala chai latte in front of
    Ilana V.

Came on a Friday morning for brunch with my husband. Managed to get a reservation for 10:15am the night before, which was lucky because everything from 10:30 to 1:30 was already fully booked. The atmosphere is incredibly quaint. Very clean, bright aesthetic; it's genuinely enjoyable to sit and soak it all in. We ordered a cappuccino and a masala chai latte to start. They're on the smaller side, and we both ended up ordering a second one, but the chai latte was easily one of the best I've had. I savored every sip. For food we got the shrimp and grits and the rice bowl with steak. We were both very happy with our orders. I loved the different textures and flavors in my rice bowl, and the steak was cooked very well. I do wish the pickled vegetables had been pickled longer or cut a bit smaller, but overall both dishes were really good. Service was very nice and friendly, just a little slow. Given how often I saw our server running between tables inside and outside, and how busy they were, I'm not surprised things took a bit longer. Parking is difficult but not impossible if you don't mind a short walk. Overall, really happy we came!
