I had my rehearsal dinner here and it was AMAZING. Food was great, drinks were even better, and the place is lovely. Carolyn made the whole process so easy and did a wonderful job setting up my decor. And the staff were exceptional, especially the bartender (Stephanie, I think?). 10/10 would recommend for any sort of event.

Fantastic food and service this evening. Our family of five enjoyed oysters and an amazing tuna crudo to start. We also ordered the flat iron steak, duck breast, oriechiette with sausage and veal Marsala. All were lovely, perfectly seasoned and beautifully plated. The duck was out of this world.

After a VERY long day (that included a car accident and 2+hr drive... with a 5 year old in tow) we were desperate for good dinner and chance to relax. The place was nice, almost where we weren't sure if there was a dress code (there isn't). The front-end woman who greeted us was very friendly when we walked in. Didn't feel judged by our casual attire. We were vastly under dressed, but didn't feel judged. We splurged and each ordered the 8oz. filet. Our son got the cheeseburger. We were all very happy with our choices. The steak was delicious (although a tad under medium, it was so tender it was not worth the mention) The drinks also delicious (I got the French 25 and husband a vodka martini). The only downfalls were not having much for kids. The menu was shallow, I couldn't get grilled chicken only breaded and no apple juice or milk. We made do with the cheeseburger and water, but not many toddlers drink lemonade or cranberry juice. Totally our option of course. But finding healthy meals for kids is so hard. Grilled chicken with a veg or potato would be lovely. ... And our server didn't seem to have much of a personality. It was very transactional... I tried to be lighthearted and funny and got no reply back. Even getting a smile seemed like a challenge. I'd definitely come back (now that our expectations have been set). And would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Drinks were good. Ordered calamari, truffle taters and bruschetta as apps. Very hearty &delicious. Nice bar...good atmosphere.

Not the best Bloody Mary I have ever had by a long shot. The rubbery shrimp didn't help.

We went here with some friends for a lovely brunch on a sunny Sunday morning. We had excellent service and mediocre food. We shared a couple of appetizers; Wild Mushroom Flatbread and Calamari Fritti. The flatbread was quite nice but the calamari were quite rubbery and the marinara sauce served with it was boring. The rubbery calamari paired nicely with the overcooked shrimp hanging off my forgettable Bloody Mary. On to the entrées.. Hubby had Cinnamon Toast Crunch French Toast which was way overcooked, while I ordered a favorite, Eggs Benedict made with a toasted everything bagel, smoked salmon, and dilled hollandaise sauce. This was ok but the dried dill and dried onions were off-putting. The fried potatoes accompanied by house made ketchup were delicious. A swing and a miss as far as Brunch is concerned at this place that day.

Went for the very first time last August and still reminisce about it. Such a luscious interior. Our cocktails were perfectly constructed and our food was so memorable. We did appetizers as it was late but the bluefish page and hummus pared with pickled veggies makes me salivate even now. One of my first stops next time I am in Hyannis. Love it

Now that Labor Day is behind us, anytime they are open is good. Last Saturday night at 7 pm the parking lot was only 1/3rd full.

Both drinks were very good. After our drinks were served, I asked our server a few questions about the portion size of the calamari. Since we were still undecided about our selections, the server left us to consider our options. Once we had made our choices, however, we had difficulty getting the server's attention. My companion had to first motion to the server and eventually call out to get their attention--three times! We both started with a cup of New England Clam Chowder, although I ordered a bowl with my meal. There is definitely a noticeable difference in portion size between the cup and bowl. The chowder itself was excellent--thick, flavorful, and delicious. For our entrées, we selected Clam Strips and Calamari, both as side-dish portions. The food was very good, as were the drinks. Overall, we enjoyed the food, drinks, and beautiful harbor-side patio setting. Unfortunately, the service was only just okay, primarily because of the difficulty we had getting our server's attention after we were ready to order.

My boyfriend and I had such a great experience here our first night of vacation that we decided to come back our second night. So we went to the hostess and said table for 2 and took the buzzer and were told 45 minute wait. It was an hour wait but I loved the experience and was ok with waiting. So when our buzzer buzzed. I headed to the hostess stand and there was a long line. I didn't want to be rude so I said the lead hostess "hey I just got a buzz" she said "ok maam I will be right with you." She continued to take down the names of the multiple groups of people in line. I decided that I would go to the back of the line to be respectful. As we were just about to near the front I hear her say "table ___ is a no show we are giving away to table ___" the people she gave the table to were people who were bothering her about the long wait time while my boyfriend and I patiently waited. She went to then give me ANOTHER buzzer as she gave our table away although we were there on time and then ignored. I gave the new buzzer back to her and told her that we previously were there with our buzzer and told her and she told us to wait a minute but ignored us. My boyfriend chimed in to say that he saw her give the table away to the next people on the list that were bothering her while we patiently waited. The hostess didn't say sorry and let us leave after we were very respectful. As someone in the industry it breaks my heart. I have been in her position and have done everything I could to make it right and to allow my guests to have the best experience possible. All she did was stare at us as we expressed concern. I was deeply hurt after this interaction and left wondering what I did wrong. All I tried to do was be a loyal customer and be respectful and I was patient and was punished for being patient and respectful. All I want is some recognition and apology.

**Extremely Disappointing Birthday Experience**…read more I have been to emBargo before and have generally enjoyed my experiences here, which is why I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday weekend. Unfortunately, this visit was a complete disappointment, especially considering our bill was approximately $225. One of the biggest issues was the lack of attentiveness from our waiter. At one point, I needed a fork to eat my meal. One of my guests was heading to the restroom and specifically told our waiter that I needed a fork. I waited approximately five minutes, giving him more than enough time to bring one over. Instead, he continued having a conversation with another employee while I sat at the table unable to properly eat my meal. Eventually, I had to get up from my own birthday dinner and find a fork myself. Only after I got up did someone attempt to assist me with the utensil. Then, at approximately 9:35 PM, our waiter brought the bill to the table even though no one had asked for the check. I found this especially off-putting because this was clearly a birthday celebration, and we had not indicated that we were finished. We weren't even given the opportunity to order dessert or continue celebrating. The waiter had also mentioned that his shift didn't end until around 11 PM, making me even more confused as to why we were essentially being rushed out more than an hour beforehand. When I paid the approximately $225 bill, I left a $15 tip and wrote a note explaining why. I normally tip more than 20%, particularly when I receive good service, but I did not believe the service that evening justified that amount. What happened afterward was what truly ruined the experience. After seeing the tip and my note, the waiter came back to our table and confronted us about it. He raised his voice and argued that we should not have given him the tip we gave him because he believed he had provided good service. When I attempted to explain the problems we experienced, he put his hand up toward me, said that he didn't want to hear it, and walked away. That was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. A customer should never be confronted or yelled at because an employee disagrees with the amount of a discretionary tip especially after the customer has already explained the service issues. I understand that this waiter was relatively new and had only been working at the restaurant for approximately six weeks. I can absolutely give someone grace for being new. What I cannot excuse is confronting a customer over a tip, refusing to listen to their concerns, and walking away dismissively. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I was a returning customer. I have recommended emBargo to friends, colleagues in banking, investors, and other people in my professional network because of my previous experiences here. Unfortunately, after the way my birthday celebration was handled, I can no longer comfortably recommend this restaurant. I specifically chose emBargo for a special occasion. Instead of leaving with a great birthday memory, I left feeling rushed, disrespected, and extremely disappointed. Based on this experience, I would not recommend emBargo for birthdays or other special celebrations unless management addresses how situations like this are handled.
