Went back to Milano's. Even better than before! The bar is a great place to hang out. They have incredible wines by the glass and new seasonal cocktails. Great dinner Friday night. Cioppino was spot on. As was the crispy calamari and a pan seared halibut special. So good. Then I found out about Sunday brunch!! Chicken and waffles! Egg frittata. Everything was amazing. I've struggled to give this review. But after talking to a couple of my friends that have been here, it's not just me... It hurts. Let me start by saying that they make some of the BEST fried calamari I have had (and I have eaten my weight and hubbys weight in fried calamari in a lifetime!). Their wine list is impressive as are their poisons on the wall of thirst. Service is LOVELY, absolutely LOVELY. And then comes dinner. Old school italo-american, classic mom and pop food. Nothing wrong with that, but it better be better than my own or others (Such as Colombo down the road). My husband ordered the bolognese with their home-made parppadelle. The bolognese needed a couple more (a lot more hours) to cook down, was very acidic and was lacking the punch of creaminess you get from breaking it down with ... MILK... We had high hopes, but the pasta was overcooked and a bit gummy. I had the veal picatta. Veal nice and tender, soggy but tender. The sauce confused me because it was heavy handed on the rosemary. Rosemary overload can be offensive, and while it didn't get there, it almost did. Garlic to a FAULT (yay, thats a GOOD thing), but the capellini pasta was way overcooked, almost baby food consistency on the chew. IM SO SORRY!!!!!!! I wanted to love it, because their focaccia was superb! I have a feeling that maybe a sandwich on that bread would be GREAT for a lunch. Portions are generous, so they are good for sharing or take home. Unfortunately, I tossed the pasta and made a sandwich with the left over veal - yea it was good. The staff is WONDERFUL and are very proud of what they do. So at least come in for appetizers and some really good drinks or a nice glass of wine! read more

Absolutely loved the bar. Very comfortable, atmosphere was classy. Kelsey the waitress was very nice. The food was fantastic. I had a cod caprese, medium rare, with zucchini and summer squash bites. With a broccoli for presentation. Very tender. Also an eggplant parmigiana. Thin slices very crispy. Then a dessert. Caprese?? was an awesome dessert. Prices are average for the cape. Went to Milano's on Main Street after hearing they opened a second restaurant. We sat at the bar and had an excellent bartender. He offered bread right when we got our drinks which we accepted. Very attentive and personable. Love the decor. Italian music was playing at a good volume, not too loud and not too soft. The TVs at the bar were playing The Godfather movies. Their menu isn't expansive, but there's enough on there for everyone. My husband had the cioppino and I had the chicken piccata. Mine came with pasta but the cioppino did not, if you wanted it over pasta, it was an up charge. My husband's chipping was loaded with shellfish and my piccata was very flavorful. Amazing dinner! Amazing service! 5 stars for both. However, I decided to get dessert to go and was sent home with the stalest piece of what was supposed to be a chocolate torte. It was disgustingly inedible. So disappointed after such an incredible dinner. I'm guessing that the slice was sitting alone in the fridge for a while to be as petrified as it was. read more

Came in for dinner with my wife and mother in law, the staff was great, our server Phillip was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines! We had delicious bruschetta and oysters for appetizers and all three of our entrees were great too. The bar area looked like a good place for a bite to watch the soccer matches as well. Great Espresso Martini Small portions, three small slices of veal in the Veal Piccata, five slices of chicken in the same chicken dish, both with not a lot of pasta. Tiramisu is exceptional, pretty sure it is the same Villa Roma recipe. With all the other Italian restaurants on Main Street, it's a one and done for me. read more

We had reservations for a Saturday, mid Oct and definitely suggest making them. The place was busy! We skipped appetizers ordered Cioppino, Haddock Giuseppe, Bolognese & veal Marsala for our meals. The first three were big hits and the Marsala was ok but not a favorite. Service was friendly but could've used more communication when our food seemed to be taking a bit long. Easter brunch was unbelievable. Brioche French toast. Salmon scramble. Chicken and waffles. Quinoa bowl!! Great flavors. Delicious food.

Love this former Naked Oyster restaurant. Bar ambience and service were great! Marsala and Piccata entrees were delicious.

Started with the hostess who was not very welcoming. Waitress Kelsey was very nice and apologetic because the cook mixed up our orders. The chicken in the piccata and the parmigiana was very tough. The cook "dumped" a load of sauce on the broccolini and we couldn't see what was under the sauce. Very unappetizing. Also, need to have choice of veg and not just broccolini. The people next to us were very loud and obnoxious. We thought it would be a classy experience but sadly it was not. We will not be back. Sorry. read more

Definitely a 5 Star restaurant! Very quaint atmosphere. From the hostess seating us (table of 4) to being welcomed by our waitress, very impressive! Seating area in quite small, however that adds to the beauty of the restaurant. Definitely Italian! From the beautiful background music to the excellent menu and chef choices for the evening, we loved it!!! Dinner was perhaps one of our top 5 dining experiences! The dessert, tiramisu, was in fact made by one of our servers!!! In laws passed on dessert until it was presented! Unreal, perhaps the best and I mean best tiramisu we've ever had! Reservations are certainly recommended, even though we went during off season ( last week) because of the small seating area. Again, a must stop in the Cape! Somewhere I read a review that this restaurant was so good it reminded the reviewer of eating in one of the greats in Boston's North End. Are you kidding me?...no way!! My wife and I were big fans of Milano's predecessor, Naked Oyster. We were sorry to see them go but were also anxious to try the successor. We figured tonight, the first after Labor Day might be the best time to do it. The restaurant was busy but not crowded. The cocktails were pretty standard and reasonably priced. I did notice, however, there were several very nice wines by the glass but, in my opinion, were priced too high for the Cape. My wife and I shared Clams Casino as an app...we both thought they were very good. My wife had a salad with chicken as her entree. She thought the salad was okay. The chicken, however, was tough, as if it had been cooked long ago and reheated. I had the pappardelle bolognese. It may have gotten away with being a meat sauce but bolognese it was not...nothing more than a wanna be. It lacked seasoning, particularly salt...and didn't have a hint of garlic...a disappointment at best. The tourist season is winding to a close. It will be interesting to see if Milanos survived the nap the Cape takes between now and next May. read more

just ok. have a lot of experience with Italian food. coming from a large Italian family. bolognese was bland almost a fresh sauce. (this dish should be like a stewed sauce very complex) had the clams linguine very strange with the pancetta. chicken marsala was bland. big fat plus for the cocktails and meatball appetizer. atmosphere was nice outside. indoors was very noisy. just being honest. :) glad to see local businesses making a go. the service was good. read more

I'm Italian. If this was Italian food we had this evening, I'm at a loss. The ambience I give an A plus. And that's where it stops. The bar tender would be better suited not working with the general public as he had zero personality. Incredibly boring and zero interest in introducing us to the menu. The sauce ....so horrible they would be better off serving Ragu. They put down bread plates, but sadly, we never received bread. However we saw bread being handed to other guests, but they were sitting at tables. Chicken Parm we give 2 stars to Lobster Bisque.....2.5 stars. When we placed our order, my husband ordered a bowl of the LB Chowder to start and then we ordered an entree. The bar tender put my entree down within 5 minutes, ( I felt like I was in a fast food restaurant) yet my husband had not even received his chowder yet and as such I had to ask the bar tender to take my entree back until my husband had received and consumed his chowder so that we could both eat our entree's together. Why did I need to ask this?? When we put down our credit card to pay the check we were informed they will charge 4% for us to use a credit card. We eat out at minimum 5 nights a week. We have never, ever paid a fee to use a credit card. What this tells you is that the owner cannot afford to absorb a credit card fee, imposed by the bank and as such is having his customers pay the fee. If he can't afford the credit card fee he also can't afford to get a better chef, bar tender, etc. This is the East Coast. Italians are everywhere. Philly, New Jersey, New York, Boston and Rhode Island have some of the best Italian food you will ever taste. Not here. Soooo not worth it. read more

We entered the restaurant at 9:23pm on Friday the 19th. After checking their website, which stated they cooked until 10 and their bar was open until 11, they had to check to see if they would seat us. Once they confirmed with the cook, they ended up serving us after we debated with the hostess/server. Once sat we were offered bread (with no butter), and we ordered immediately so we didn't hold them up. We ordered the meatball appetizer and the fettuccine Alfredo and they both came out at the some time in less than 10 minutes. We ate the meatballs first, which were okay. Next, we tried the Alfredo. Immediately something was off, it was crunchy and tasted nothing like Alfredo. I verified with my daughter as we were splitting and she agreed. We could not eat more than one bite, DISGUSTING. We called the server over and asked if there were onions in the dish as it was not listed on the menu description, he said "let me check with the cook". He came back and informed us there were onions in the dish. We pointed out the menu did not state it contained onions and they were crunchy like they were undercooked and rushed in the making, and he said "well your meatballs contain them". Terrible!! save your money and spend it elsewhere until they figure out how to run this restaurant. We had a cheese plate to start, which was fine our papperdelle Bolognese, which was recommended by the waitress was clearly microwaved. It had a ton of really cold spots in it consistent with microwaving, the Bolognese was dry and completely tasteless. The pasta was good but needed to be hot. How hard is it to serve hot pasta? We left at least half our food on our plates.... we were starving, but due to temperature and taste we gave up. Service was so bad, the waitress was so unattentive and disheveled. It was clear her attention was only on a large table behind us. We were a table of two. She didn't even tell us there were specials, we heard the large table order items We couldn't see on the menu. We asked if there were specials, and there was. We ordered a bottle of white wine. She said they had no wine chillers, our wine was getting warm, so I asked her to really try and suddenly she produced one, how hard is it for a good restaurant to have enough wine chillers? When the restaurant cleared out, we could hear the music that was being played, being able to hear it during the meal would've made for a better ambience Such a waste of $190 and it was my birthday, which was even more disappointing as my husband put a lot of effort into booking a nice dinner, I'm telling all my friends in the area to stay clear read more

maybe they were overwhelmed tonight but the service was not very good, it took us 10 minutes after sitting down to get water as several people passed our table, the hostess said only one server working although there were at least 3 that we saw, got our first drink and server left for awhile came back and asked if we were ready to order without asking if we wanted appetizers, we got appetizers after probably 20 minutes, had to ask for plates, waited another 1/2 hour or more for our meal of just alfredo and chicken parmesan, husband liked the pasta but I thought the sauce tasted like tomato paste, chicken was crispy and ok , sangria was ok not great, will definitely try other italian places next time we are in cape cod won't be back , hopefully others have a better experience read more
