Elise!!!! Aka might-E mouse, truly a treasure! She truly made our experience exceptional- hubby wanted to have an appetizer and go to the next place... didn't happen. Elise guided us through the menu and made suggestions, all were fantastic. I didn't get a chance to take a photo of the crab hush puppies, they disappeared too fast! Everything was truly next level delicious. Get the bone marrow- out of this world. We shared the beet salad and Asian beef dish, both were fantastic-the portions are very generous. Service is about the best you'll find anywhere- ambience is laid back, yet upscale and super friendly. They play awesome Americana music, not too loud- just perfect. I actually have dined here twice, on a very busy evening, & on a light day. Both trips were equally satisfying. The West Table restaurant, that is located inside the historic Pioneer Building in the heart of Downtown Lubbock, shares its residence with an award winning local brewery, The Brewery LBK. The staff is extremely welcoming & attentive. Food comes out in a very timely manner. I've had the pleasure to view the kitchen staff on a busy night, & their passion for upscale food & service shines. The food I have tried is full of flavor, cooked & plated beautifully. West Table has an appreciation for local ingredients, & use ingredients from within the City of Lubbock or surrounding towns. A big plus for local support! Do not expect chain or franchise type food. West Table looks to redefine how fine dining is done within the HubCity. I've wanted to check this place out every time we've come to Lubbock it's worth it. Had a great server very attentive and did a wonderful job. They a great cocktails and choice of wines. I had to ask about vegetarian options and they had Pad Thai. I loved it. It has great flavor with a good spicy kick. I started with a house salad which is shareable. All the dishes are shareable. Highly recommend this spot for a date night or even just to enjoy a high end quality time with your friends and family! Their dishes are amazing and I have almost tried everything on their menu. They usually change it from time to time but always in the most impressive manner. Management and servers are amazing!!! My fiancé and I are regulars and will always head over to West Table if we are craving a flavorful steak! Omgg their desserts are something else! You will not be disappointed. Food was good, but make sure you have plenty of time to eat here - it took over an hour to get our salads once we ordered our food. An hour and a half to get our entree, from the time we ordered our food, and it was cold. We did have a really nice server - but the kitchen staff needs to step it up! Way too SLOW! Excellent food in a very classy setting. Really went all out and had no buyers remorse haha. I had a duck entree which was amazing. They have a great drink list too. I eat here every time I come to Lubbuck. The food has always been consistently good but tonight..... I ordered the steamed dumplings and they were cold. Taste was good though. My beet salad was not in season so I ordered the house salad. It came out perfect. I ordered the pasta Bolognese and asked if the pasta was fresh (made in house) the server said yes.... But clearly it's boxed barilla pasta that was over cooked. The short rib flavor was very bland. I would still come back as some dishes here I have grown to love.... Here's the good, bad, and the ugly. Good: great location in such a cool building! Our waiter started off very well. I immediately felt like were in for a treat. Its an open kitchen so fun to watch chefs. Nice clientele. Started off with an amazing bone marrow appetizer that was superb and goat cheese bites that were pretty good. The waiter asked if we had a dog and offered the bones. He wrote "for Millie" on the to go box! How sweet! Our wedge salads came shortly thereafter and were also terrific! The waiter was so nice! Our experience felt elevated. The bad: the noise level is really high and we were sitting by the entrance. After waiting quite a while, my husband received his duck which was cold and RAW, I got a Vietnamese steak that I gave up on after the first 3 bites were unchewable and there was so much salt it burned my tongue ($29). Maybe you are adding salt to an already salty marinade (soy sauce). Now reading reviews it soulds like salt is a big issue here. Are you using Himalayan salt? Its strong so takes less. My daughter had chicken that was ok. We ordered two extra glasses of wine to help finish the meal, but that took too long to get. The ugly: When asked if we were done and he asked if I wanted to take mine home, I politely told him it was inedible. After that he had a bad attitude and basically slapped our bill down and walked away without any niceties. Was he embarrassed? Busy? We still tipped well despite the treatment at the end. After dropping over $250 we expected better. The main course should have been the highlight but it was bad all around. Probably would go there for drinks and appetizers but not for main course. We asked for the bar menu, as their appetizers were less than desirable. 5 minutes later we see them take bar food to the table next to us. Waitress asked the crabby cook, if she could offer us a menu to which he responded, absolutely not. Go to the bar, the food is cooked by the same people. read more

The room was huge and spacious. Lots of room to hang out. The Bartender made the place work! Knew everyone, got me ( the mercurial traveler) made really unusual drinks just right. I had three! One of which he comped! I asked him about the lamb chops ( love em, never find them) I hoped they were t going to be minute portion $39 ! Ok Caesar on Side with anchovies $9. There was drama going on among young attractive staff. They took a while but that was the kitchens deal and I let them know I wasn't in a rush. The RUB! the super delicious perfectly cooked lamb chops were a tiny portion. Tiny lamb chops good! Tender! But at that size a $39 portion needs more. I dropped $100 bill 2 paid drinks,salad, lamb chops. Lubbock Tx. The portion was perfect for a pretty waitress but not for splurge meal. I couldn't afford dessert. Gotta be honest, it just didn't do it for me. I will say service was fantastic, and the restaurant was very nice, clean, and hip. Food missed the mark and that is why I gave it 3 stars. I was super excited about trying frog legs, and they didn't hit the spot for me. Meat wasn't as gamy as I expected and it was cleaner looking and tasting. I was expecting alligator consistency and texture, but it was better then I expected. Mayo/aoli was not very good and really threw the flavor off. Teriyaki Marinated Bistec was way too salty/charred, wasn't sure what the problem was but I only a couple pieces meat. Fried rice and fried spring were good and only finished that. I'm thinking next time I'm in Lubbock i will stop by and give them another try. Looks like I should've tried something else, so next time I choose differently. read more

The West Table is one of my favorite restaurants in Lubbock. Every time I go, the food and service is consistently good, and the menu changes often so there's always something new to try. The dinner menu here is fantastic. My favorite dish is the seared duck breast. They ask you how you like your duck and I recommend getting medium because then the duck is really juicy and tender. They also render the duck fat really well so the skin and fat complement the meat and are not chewy. If you don't want to come here for dinner because it's pricey, then the brunch is also really good and it's a more reasonable price. They have a brunch buffet as well as made to order items. I really like the made to order chilaquiles and asparagus milanese. Many of the pricey restaurants in Lubbock are steakhouses that get boring after a while. If you're going to splurge on a nice meal, I recommend coming here because you'll get something different and delicious. read more

If you head to The West table do yourself a favor and don't drive. The cocktail menu has something for everyone and the drinks are prepared with love. So good you'll want to sample two or five. The menu consists of an excellent variety of flavors and combinations and they change it up every so often which keeps it fresh for repeat customers. It's set up on the ground floor of a boutique hotel and has a somewhat sprawling layout. It has a bar area which is somewhat small but cozy. The staff are super friendly and happy to chat so if you're on your own I'd recommend the bar area. You can meet some new people and watch the bartender construct liquid magic. Ate here twice, was not impressed given the way people talked about the place. About six months after the opening, shrimp were still being overcooked; grits were nothing to write home about. More recently, the quail was dry and the duck was unevenly cooked. Would be willing to try yet again, especially because it's a local restaurant that offers one of the very few upscale menus in town. This was a great place. The food, service and ambience were all wonderful, and it was inexpensive (I'm accustomed to Austin prices). We were just spending a night in Lubbock on a long road trip through New Mexico and Colorado, and this place was so good that we might return to Lubbock just to eat here and stay again at the excellent Cotton Court Hotel. read more
