If any of my coworkers are coming into town and trying to stay near our office located in the Northwest corridor of Austin, the Westin is one of the hotels I recommend. The Westin is reliable, clean, and for this specific location, has ample parking space and located near the Domain. It gives a suburb safe, corporate feel. If they're looking for a social scene, they can easily walk/uber to Rock Rose Ave. If they would like to purchase a new Louis Vuitton bag, they can do so as they please. I really enjoyed my stay here at the Westin! Located within the Domain this hotel is beautiful inside and out. The lady at the front desk for very nice and professional and I got to check in way earlier then my normal check in times. There is a $100 deposit and you have to pay for parking. I loved my room, big screen tv, huge comfortable bed I literally wanted to live on lol. Gorgeous views from my floor and nice big shower with all the amenities you'll need and complimentary water as an added bonus They do have a bar and restaurant I unfortunately didn't get to experience but next time! I loved everything about this place except the valet. Upon arrival there was a lot of chaos and no one really communicating well to help the flow of things. Additionally, when I was ready to head out at 6am, I found out that valet didn't open until 7am and my car was blocked in so I had to take a $75 Uber downtown. On a lighter note, I appreciated the quick and easy check-in process. Upon entering the lobby, it felt like a calm space and it smelled really good. Our king size bed was very comfortable and everything was fairly clean. There were two things in our room that I did not appreciate: 1) the iron had something sticky to it so I could not use it for my shirt 2) the duvet was old and full of fabric pills. Overall, it was quiet and they had the restaurant/bar plus an express service mini store. There are many restaurants and shops in the area that are within walking distance. read more

The experience did not match the price. The disappointment started at check-in. Rather than a warm welcome, the first thing I heard was a list of additional charges and things that were not included: a facility fee, $29 per night for self-parking, breakfast not being complimentary, and even bottled water and snacks only being available for purchase. A simple "How was your trip?" or "Can I offer you a bottle of water?" would have gone a long ways. Instead, the interaction felt transactional from the start. Unfortunately, the lack of hospitality continued throughout the stay. While sitting at the bar, I overheard the bartender telling another guest how unhappy he was working there and how he couldn't wait to move on. That certainly didn't create a positive atmosphere. The rooms were also underwhelming for the price. I'd rate them a 4 or 5 out of 10. They felt dated, and the air conditioning unit was loud enough to be disruptive. Overall, the accommodations simply did not deliver the level of comfort or value I expected. With so many other hotels within a few blocks offering more charm, better value, and friendlier service, I would choose one of those alternatives before staying here again. read more

Room (room 824): modern and clean with king sized bed and all the normal appliances you'd expectmini refrigerator, mini coffee maker, TV, etc. Bed: a rather hard, uncomfortable mattress, poor pillows Overall sleep quality: no highway noise, very little hallway noise, overall good sleep quality Bathroom: good lighting, good counter space, shower only and the door allowed water to flood the floor Remote work: Decent wifi. On the plus side, two desks in the room. On the negative side, the desks are too high to comfortably type on a laptop. Very uncomfortable desk configuration if you really need to crank out some work. If you're stuck at the Domain for business travel then the Westin is a perfectly servicable business hotel. It's clean, it's convenient, they have a bunch of basic amenities and snacks available, and O.K. food options. The Domain is your basic elevated American outdoor mall complex. It probably serves quite well for most of the people who frequent the place but if you're like me and prefer to stick to places with some culture, it's the kind of location that makes you feel dead inside. So, should you find yourself here, you can just hole up at the Westin and get some work done. In general, Westins are probably the most consistent average hotel in existance today. While some other brands in the Marriott portfolio tend to be hit or miss these days (I'm looking at you W), you always know what you're getting with a Westin. Generally the price isn't too bad either. Breakfast here isn't spectacular but has all the usuals you'l want and the server who works here may be the most pleasant human being on planet earth (YMMV depending on how tired you are!) read more

Westin delivers a predictable and generally comfortable stay again. I've stayed at Westin at the Domain a few times in the past couple of months while on business trips to Austin. The hotel is conveniently located close to the Domain area (as you can infer from the name) and the nearby offices of a number of tech companies. It's relatively new so you won't get a sense that you are staying at a mausoleum. Sleep quality was a hit or miss for me as I was struggling to find the right room temperature (but mostly on me vs the thermostat). Beds are comfortable though. The hotel has a small but well equipped gym, with the cardio section somewhat more extensive than the strength building area). Overall, good stay. Tip: Parking is available in the designated area at the hotel. read more

A short trip to Austin to visit family & friends called for a hotel central to all of our intended trips. A stay here filled the need. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable bed. It also came with a fridge(a microwave was down the hall). There was a a large TV, with a variety of easily accessible AV outlets (game consoles, dvd players, computers, etc). The Westin nicely located at the Domain where I stayed here due to the close proximity to Q2 Stadium. It is also very close to Rock Rose Ave for daytime drinking and nightlife partying. There is plenty of surface parking and at night valet parking appears. The hotel itself has a nice taste of luxury with a lounge bar, restaurant (closed due to COVID-19), pantry store, pool, and fitness center. Check in has that personal touch where the staff is very friendly and get to know you where can just show them your pantry items, and they charge them to your room. The breakfast in the morning was very good and so was lunch where you order from the bar and either eat it there or do takeout. Other times we just walked to the Domain where there is a wide selection of restaurants to choose from. The large outdoor pool felt relaxing with towels and seating are provided. If the pool is too cold then there is a hot spa to get in. There was not much shade but the building eventually blocked the hot sun in the afternoon. There is an enclosed patch of grass for dogs next to the pool. Our room was nice and clean looked new. The bathroom had nice space with a large shower with both a rain and handheld shower head. A small fridge is present with a free bottle of water and Starbucks coffee. The room was quiet but did face the evening sun where had to close the shades and turn down the thermostat. The bed felt a little stiff but able to sleep fine. Overall a great experience and since writing the review stayed here twice already. read more

Beautiful hotel. Weak but still expensive drinks at the bar. The overall stay went very well. The room was clean and in order. Our shower handle broke and they came right up and fixed it. Appreciate that. The staff was all very nice and helpful. My only gripe was paying that much money at the hotel bar for drinks only to have the bartender pour them soooo weak. He even put an orange slice in my Long Island. WTH is that about!?!?!? Did I pay extra for that? The breakfast wasn't included with the room, so I don't know about that. Elite status means nothing to these people. Don't expect a late check out or any upgrades even if there are rooms available and there is barely anyone staying here. People here could careless. Also front desk people are rude when you ask for extra towels. This is supposed to be a pet friendly hotel but they obviously put pet people in dirtier rooms. The room they put me in smells like poop and smoke. The dog bowls they provided us was basically nonstick cake pans with scratches and rust! How is that safe? Would you give that to your pets? Also forgot to mention that the cleanliness is definitely subpar to the other hotels I stayed at. Disgusting stains on bedsheets. Bottom line: take your business elsewhere. We stayed at South congress hotel before and the service/cleanliness were 1000x better. Also they were actually pet friendly and gave us clean rooms/bedding and nontoxic/safe dog bowls. read more

I am a big fan of Westin hotels and am a Titanium level member so this hotel was a good choice for us. We stayed there Thursday to Sunday in December of 2022 (last week). Free parking is a huge plus. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and in a very posh area. Had to remove stars not due to the hotel or the staff but on Friday and Saturday nights the street racing is so loud and goes on until 2-3am each weekend you will not get any sleep. Again not the hotels fault but when you are paying a few hundred dollars per night you do expect to at least be able to sleep. If you book here just be aware of the noise on weekends. read more

Took 35 minutes to check in at the front desk-line was literally out the door! Zero of the tv channels worked without static and pixelated images except the home Marriott Welcome Screen and music. Towels in our room were frayed at the edges and needed to be tossed or used as a rag. Bar area felt incredibly crowded by the influx of people funneling over from front desk. Had a great view in a "suite" overlooking the Macy's parking lot. Won't be back. Cocktails are the only thing earning even one star. read more

Hotel is a bit old, but super duper clean. The design of the bathroom door is flawed, when someone opened the door, it could hit someone sitting on the toilet because whoever designed it, left very little space between the door and the toilet. TV didn't work. in the morning around 9.30AM, a lady in black knocked on our door and spoke Spanish . She didn't speak any English, didn't have any cart/household or any items with her, was talking on walkie talkie with another person who also didn't speak any English. She held a card that had our room number in her hand. We spoke 0 Spanish so eventually we said we didn't understand and closed the door. We were checking out, so housekeeping must wait until we are gone before cleaning and our check-in time is noon. 45 minutes later, a guy holding a cart (looked like housekeeping) again knocked on our door and it seemed he's asking to clean the room. To which we said No. It seemed there's 0 communications between the hotel and housekeeping to tell housekeeping we were checking out and NEED NO housekeeping service. I told the front desk about it, Kim was apologetic, we were expecting better given this hotel's pretty expensive. She refunded our free night certificate which we were using to stay here. She's the only reason I gave out 4 star review. Otherwise, this would have been a 2-star review read more

Staff here were so sweet - especially Cassandra - we actually had to extend our stay and it was seamless - they have a tiny convenience store with a nice selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks as well as basic items as well as an ATM, there is a bar/restaurant attached to the lobby One thing that was really cool is that they had apps on their TV - YouTube, Netflix, etc - which you'd think more expensive hotels would have (currently I'm at a more expensive hotel in this area and the tv does not have Netflix or any apps - so I wish I had continued to stay at the Westin) Even on a Saturday night it was fairly quiet on my side of the hotel - not sure if that is by chance or they are very smart about booking your room but I will definitely give them the credit this time around Overall I would definitely stay here again - although I only stayed here because I was in the process of moving. Parking is free which is also convenient - Saturday nights can be very packed but the cars usually all disappear by Sunday morning read more

Some things at this hotel are amazing! It's clean. The location is wonderful, it's right in the Domain with all its shops and restaurants. Some of the people who work here are amazing. But as a person who's stayed here a few times this past year, ughhh. If you're a Marriott Titanium or Bonvoy Elite or whatever don't think you're going to get late checkout. They will tell they are "fully committed" every time ... even when you can see on the app that they have rooms in every category open. Even when you have a toddler w you and it's 103 degrees out. They do not care. The attention to detail is lacking a bit too like the telephone didn't work to call the front desk (better not to call for late checkout w), I had no washcloths, when I PAID for another room for those TWO hours that would have been late check out I had NO towels. Was totally looking forward to washing my face finally but nope. Idk, oddly I still like this hotel as much as the rude long haired am manager tries to push me away w her horrible behavior. She is not the hotel. PS The girl who checked me in for my room I'll only stay in for 2 hours shamed me for paying in points .... Hello! Those are as good as cash. Lovely hotel for our weekend in Austin at a great location! It's in the middle of an outdoor mall, so plenty of of shopping, restaurants, comedy club, movie theater, watering holes and places to explore. A few steps away was a street full of bars and restaurants. Perfect for a night out. The hotel itself was nice. Plenty of parking. Lots of lounge space. Room was spacious and comfortable. The large window was a beautiful focal point. The shower had great water pressure. Plenty of outlets. Basic wifi. Room temperature was ideal and easy to control on the thermostat. A couple gripes for me was that the hallways were littered with trash and used glasses. We would walk in from our afternoon outing and, in the morning, the trash would still be there. No complimentary breakfast. The towels we had in the room were stained and discolored. We had to ask for some others. The design of the bathroom door was not well thought. It only leaves 1cm between the door and the toilet bowl, so it's tricky getting out. The iron in the room is old and hardly pressed our clothes. All in all, didn't ruin our time here. Would definitely stay here again just to take advantage of the location, but not a perfect experience. read more

This one gets a solid five stars from me. Customer service from check-in to check-out was stellar. I was even able to check in a couple of hours early on my first day here. From the bathroom, to the living area, to the bed, the room was spotlessly clean. The shower was awesome, it had one of the "rain shower" shower heads. The bed was absolutely comfy. The room included a nice flat screen TV with AV inputs mounted on the front of the desk so you can connect your laptop and stream Netflix, YouTube, or what have you to the television. There was also a nice charging stations on one of the night stands that had USB ports and standard 110v electrical plugs. They have a mini-fridge hidden in a cabinet underneath the TV if you choose to bring your own food or drinks. Keurig style coffee maker with Starbucks coffee pods were also included. Conveniently located near the JJ Pickle Research Campus and smack dab in the middle of the Domain. Plenty of shopping, dining, and drinking within crawling distance! And I mean PLENTY. Just beware dining and drinking in this area is expensive. Parking is free, and I didn't have to drive anywhere for the entire four days I was there. Meeting rooms are spacious, great AV technology, and the catered meals were spot on. read more

I would have given 4 stars but knocked off a star mostly for my current stay. I'm a fan of Westin Domain and have stayed here 3x (9 nights so far within the past 10 months). I like the central location, plenty of parking, it's dog friendly and clean. Another important factor is water pressure; the sink and showers are great. We're building a house in Austin so we'll be traveling back and forth to Texas and plan to continue staying here. The stay here is pretty consistent and overall we enjoy it. I'm incredibly picky with hotels so the fact we keep coming here says a lot and why I'd typically rate it 4 stars. I knocked off a star from 4 stars because while it's our third stay here and we are Marriott Bonvoy card holders and we are Silver Elite Status, we don't feel as valued as other places we've frequented. We booked through the Marriott Bonvoy app and requested extra towels and a free upgrade and got none of the above. Not sure the point of why the app asks for that when it's not going to be provided. We're not asking much but for Elite status, we expect more, otherwise, what's the point of getting status and being loyal? Additionally, any dog friendly room you book will have a view of the wall, which is depressing. Also, all dog friendly hotels should offer slippers; seems pretty basic considering there are dogs and who knows if they had peed or pooped in the room so common sense to offer slippers to guests. These are not deal breakers at all, but you feel more valued as a frequent and loyal guest when you are treated as though you're valued. I was going to book at Archer hotel, which is another beautiful hotel and more central in the Domain, but I chose to be loyal to Westin but unfortunately, I don't feel it pays to be loyal. There's potential for me to up my rating. We'll see on our next stay. read more

After a mishap with our Airbnb host, we were left scrambling to find a hotel that accepted dogs. A golf tournament was in town so many of Marriott's other brands were booked solid. We were referred to Westin at the Domain that turned a horrible situation into something amazing and truly memorable. Maggie greeted us at the front desk and was a superstar from beginning to end. We had our puppy with us and she greeted him too. It was the cutest thing seeing him run up to her. She surprised our puppy with all natural puppy treats. Our room was clean and nicely appointed with many contemporary fixtures. The bathrooms were super cool especially the rain shower heads. I could have easily spent thirty plus minutes taking a shower but really just sitting there enjoying it. Beds were ok. Not the most comfortable but they did the trick. I would recommend the Westin at the Domain as service was great. Couldn't have asked for anything more. They were constantly busy and handled each patron with grace. This hotel is located in The Domain which is also a shopaholics dream come true so expect that traffic. Many restaurants surround the Westin as well. All you picky eaters will easily find something. Stayed here for a business trip and I have generally had better luck in Westin's than others in the Bonvoy brand and this was generally the case with this hotel. Arrived near lunch and was able to check in right away. The gentleman at the desk was helpful and friendly. The room was large and clean with a comfortable king bed and decent sized bathroom. The room was quiet and nicely appointed. The staff were generally lovely and would greet people as they entered and left the lobby. The lobby has a coffee shop in the morning that becomes a bar at night, there is also a restaurant and room arrive with a nice focus on healthy options. There is no concierge lounge for members with platinum and above status but you do get the option of points or breakfast. There are two reasons I deducted a star - one was the fact that I asked for a slightly later checkout - 1pm and the woman at the front desk was very rude and said she would make a ' one time exception' . The hotel was very empty and one of the benefits of being a platinum member is later check outs where available. The second being I had a charge ran on my card the day after checking out. When I called I was told it was for the water in room which I had not touched and never would as who ever knows how old that stuff was. My husband was staying up at the domain due to work events. We leave south but there is no way he would want to drive or Uber after his events. Luckily the Westin was his home for two nights and one night for me. The Westin is located right in the domain near punch bowl social. You can easily walk to other bars and restaurants. It's really a great spot for people who want a night life in the evening without going downtown. It's also great to go shopping, get your nails done and even buy a Tesla. I did have the luxury of ordering room service and it was fast and a good meal. We also had great interaction with all staff. read more

Overall, a good place to stay with great location and friendly staff, but the room walls are paper thin and you risk hear the conversations of your neighbors in the other room. Weird and annoying! Pro's: Good water pressure in the shower. Like the rain shower option. Love the way their shampoo / soap smells, and pretty much the entire hotel. Love the sleep lavender balm roller! Fast elevators. Outlets are easily available, Particularly near the bed which wasn't always the case. Walking distance of so much shopping, eating and bars in the Domain!! Great air conditioning and fairly quiet. Fridge, tv,desk - all good. No microwave. Con's: I can quite literally hear the phone conversation of the person next door and the board game excitement of the neighbor on the other side.
