Great hotel in a great location, with fabulous enormously spacious rooms (I may have had a corner suite) and staff. I stayed here before the 2013 Rock n Roll marathon. In theory it was a nice idea for a nice hotel. The location is good. The views to the west are beautiful. The hotel is not a good hotel anymore, however. 25/day "destination fee" that isn't advertised when booking and we weren't allowed to option out of - features that we didn't want or use. It made an already expensive hotel (which was fine, we knew we were paying to be in downtown and to see the sound/mountains) even more pricey - mostly, I just want a hotel to be honest and tell me the price up front. They didn't. No refrigerator in the room, even in the year 2023. Be careful with the cooled minibar they do provide, which we also didn't want/need - if you lift something beyond the scanner, even to look at it, you'll get charged for it. Ice machine didn't work. I'm an SPG platinum and stay 50+ nights a year so I expected a lot more for the $200+ a night per room that I paid. Especially considering the great stay I had at the Four Points down the road. -check in was horrible. There were two folks working the desk Friday night and the line to check in was ten long. Even the platinum line had a wait. -lobby was an absolute zoo at all hours of the day. There was a constant parade of dogs, crying kids, and just overly noisy folks. -we had two rooms on the 33rd floor of the south tower. In between our rooms was a couple with a crying baby that was up sobbing all night. We were also next to the ice dispenser which turned out to be a magnet to kids and another source of noise. No one slept well. The curtains were also in tatters. On the plus side the bed was comfy and the room generally clean. -after the bad first night we switched rooms to the south tower. The new room had a better view but the curtains were still ripped. There was also a strange creaking sound coming from the ceiling as of the person on the floor above us was constantly walking around. Go figure. -staff were friendly when I interacted with them and they did get us new rooms. I'm not sure if we caught the hotel on a bad weekend or it is always like this. The line to check in was so long. Only 2 front desk agents. Took forever to check in. Hidden fees. Parking was a nightmare and extremely convoluted and inconvenient. And had trouble leaving after our stay. Couldn't get out, had to ask the valet for help. Room was absolutely atrocious and tiny. Old furniture that was peeling, stained fixtures, popcorn ceiling, not even remotely worth the money or what was expected from Westin. Besides the soft enough bed, our stay was horrible. read more

More like 3.5 stars. The views were stunning. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful with our questions. They do have parking but it's like $25 per day. If you don't want to do that. You can find street parking nearby. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was super comfortable to lay, however it wasn't a queen but a full size bed... it wasn't really enough roomy on the bed to sleep in. Also the bathroom was very clean, but our sink was broken. Like the knobs of the faucet will always overflow with water and we have to use towel to soak it up each day. The robes were also luxurious and so soft. Room service was handy and they are pretty quick after you make a call out to them. They do charge for a stand alone mini fridge for $10 a day if you want to store your leftovers or beverages. Please note: they do have snacks, beverage, and alcohol in the mini fridge that's already in the room but those cost extras and weight sensitive. No free wifi. As much as we spend, wish there was a free breakfast. Pool room is normal size, no jacuzzi, patio is good, a few tables and chairs outside, got a good view of right in the middle of downtown Seattle, and lots of exercise equipment if you want to keep up with your routine. This Hotel has very good service and excellent views. The rooms are really dated and they have probably done all that is possible to salvage a really dated space. I like the North Tower with a Northwest view better than any other option. Parking here requires a second mortgage. They are actually 20% more than the Fairmont which I always thought were very proud of their Seattle parking. Stay near the top for the best views, though an earthquake in this building would be problematic. Personally, I'm not fond of any of the hotel restaurants, but the gym is fairly good. read more

(100 in the restaurant offering a full menu) The answer seems obvious, but the place apparently prospers, perhaps propped up by transient passengers who will never touch Seattle's shores again. Would that I were one of them. You will doubtlessly find immediately below this review a "response" from the property, purportedly authored by someone with the word "Operations" in his or her title. The response will, variously, tell you that your experience was atypical, non-existent and/or will drive them to do better. The individual will conclude by telling you to "Be well." I understand conservation but the water pressure was ridiculously poor. And, they failed to make up our room because they incorrectly assumed we were participating in their Go Green program. While they did eventually send up towels and toilet paper after I called, I never heard the words 'I'm sorry" or similar. On the other hand, it is in a great location close enough to walk to both the Space Needle area and the Pike Market. The Westin is perfectly situated in the heart of Seattle. Everything from Pike's Place, the Amazon Spheres, to the Space Needle are all walking distance away. The rooms are spacious! They have all the normal amenities such as bath robes, soaps, with more available at request. Staff are super nice! We've stayed in the Westin Seattle a number of times. Between my wife and her business travel, my own trips, and just family getaways up to Seattle, I bet we've stayed at the property well over 25 times. This last trip was a new awakening. The hotel has recently completed some much needed renovations - and, with the Marriott / SPG merger, things feel bit different. From the service to the general atmosphere of the public spaces in the hotel - everything is nicer. We stayed in a water facing, top floor room in the north tower. As always, the water views are amazing. In many ways, the hotel is the perfect Seattle downtown hotel - with the fantastic accessible to all the main sights, amazing views from the top rooms of the Puget Sound, and super courteous staff. With their remodel upgrades, they are now a notch above their previous stature. There are more luxurious places to stay in downtown, but the Westin is such a great place - and now even better. One thing to consider - you can find great offers on room-rates, if you travel in the off season and book mid-week. read more

BEWARE OF THE ELEVATORS. All of the elevators were a minimum of 15 minute wait!! I waited 3 elevators to come by my floor and they were all full. The doors closed so fast people had a hard time getting in and out. I ended up taking the stairs 24 floors up and down sometimes because I didn't want to wait 20 min for the elevators. Most people took the elevators all the up then back down to the lobby and they stopped on every floor. Just for the people to not be able to get on. That was the only way to do it. Especially if you had bags good luck!!! Everyone I heard was complaining about it I'm surprised there's not more on here. When I came to check in my room wasn't even ready until 6 PM!! Did all housekeeping just quit that day? I expect more from a Westin. I mean the room was nice and the location is good, but beware the elevators and the fact you won't get your room for hours! My stay at the Westin Seattle was all-around excellent. Check-in was fast friendly and effortless. Extended my stay online, and the front desk took care of everything automatically. From my 43rd floor room I had an amazing view. Skip the restaurant, eat outside the hotel. There are plenty of places nearby. Don't dare buy anything at the extremely overpriced gift shop. There's a Bartell Drugs, 3-minute walk across the street. And above all, do not park a car here. In fact, if you're driving, I recommend you seek another hotel. $50 for self parking, $60 for valet. read more

I booked this hotel for two nights in April. My flight into Seattle on Friday night was changed due to some volcanic ash and I did not arrive until Saturday. Upon check in I asked for a refund for Friday night after explaining my situation. A front end manager approved the refund. After returning home and receiving my credit card statement I noticed that not only had I not been refunded as promised for the Friday night stay but I had been charged for a third night! I have been fighting both of these charges now for weeks to no avail and now I will have to file a dispute through my credit card merchant. Lots of room for us to get work done. Walk to everything including market....night life...etc. Mostly just enjoyed the view. For it being a fancy room, walls are more than paper thin....which was disappointing. Bathroom. Was small as well. Basic shower. The bar/lounge was definitely the hang out spot. Most times, it stayed pretty busy but was able to find great lounge chairs by the windows to have a good time with several colleagues and new friends. Will be back to Seattle. This has to be one of my worst hotel experiences. I booked through Travelocity which is the first problem apparently. Won't be using them again. I booked a room with 2 queen beds and paid and extra $20 a night for a room with a city view. All was great until I got to the hotel. When I checked in they tell me they only have a room on the 6th floor (the first floor that has rooms) with 2 double beds and my view is of a bamboo fence. When I told them I paid for a room with 2 queens and a city view they say since I booked through a 3rd party they can't always give you what you ordered. However they are still charging me for the room with 2 queens and a view. Absolutely ridiculous!!! So I get to the room and not only is there no view the curtains are falling apart as if someone let there cats loose in the room. The curtains are literally shredded and look like Halloween decorations. Ok so my room sucks. Let me go get some ice so I can keep my water cold since you have to request a fridge if you want to keep your items cold. Well the ice machine on my floor is out of order. What a surprise. So I go up one floor...no ice machine. Ok I go up one more floor. Ice machine broken. Now I go back to my room call the front desk to ask where there is an ice machine that works and they will bring me a bag ice. Now I'm just really mad and ready to cancel my stay here and look for anything else. So next I try to order food from the 1900 bar downstairs which says they are open until 11pm. The hostess tells me they are not making food anymore as a waiter literally walks by me with a platter of food he's bringing to a table. She says you can't order food but you can order drinks and bring them up to your room. Really...I'm hungry and you offer me booze instead. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone I liked. Oh yeah and the elevators are terrible. I can't tell you how many times I was taken to the wrong floor since the elevator use a touch screen and half the time doesn't register what you pressed so you end up going to another floor that someone requested the elevator from. read more

Lovely hotel and great pricing for location. Our room (21st floor) was decently large. I was traveling with my sister and we requested double beds - the request was granted. The hotel was little dated in terms of decor, but we did not mind. The bathroom was large and spacious, shower good. The was a really nice mirror in the bathroom that produced great lighting. I notice that hotels typically lack in bathroom lighting so I appreciated this. The view was nothing snort of spectacular. On a clear day we could easily sea the water and mountains in the distance. The location of the hotel was wonderful, very central and easily walkable from public transportation that we took from the Airport There lobby was spectacular. Large and inviting. There were fireplaces and couches everywhere. Overall I would recommend this hotel. read more

This place was awesome! Granted, I LOVE Seattle and would probably be fine anywhere- but this was a very special trip for me. Very special. It was my first trip alone, for work since recovering from a pretty major health challenge. Everyone was nice, courteous and helpful. My room was beautifully clean and very comfortable. The bed was so comforting it was hard to get out of it each morning. I had to have my service dog with me and no one gave me any trouble about her. Some places forget that service dogs are allowed anywhere I need to go. She is a guide dog as I am mostly blind from my health issues. Everything was great. I only wish the line at the little breakfast nook wasn't so long in the mornings!! read more

The location of this property is hard to beat especially if its your first time in Seattle. Whats pretty amazing is the fact that even if this property is in the middle of everything, the rooms are well sound proofed and very quiet. I am very sensitive to noise and very few properties really pass my test with flying colors, this is one of them. However, other aspects of this property is just OK. The rooms are dated and are really showing signs of aging. Stayed in room 2731 which has good views. Check your bill to make sure you dont get charged with items in the mini bar. The sensor is so sensitive that if you accidentally touch an item or if the item gets moved (ie you hit the desk where it is placed), you get charged with the items. We had to call multiple times as I see charges post in my account. The TV was not working on some days. The lines in the front desk are always long. The service is pretty good for the most part except for this heavy set woman manning the front desk who needs crash training with customer service. read more

While the beds and showers were up to par and as expected, I gotta say that I feel like this Westin needs to up it's a game a bit to make a jump to an elite level hotel. The check in process was good and straight forward. We got up to our room quick and we were given good info on the area. The TVs were a bit on the small side, but that's understandable given the windows were huge. Rooms were good size and gave us plenty of area to spread out. The things that were lacking - there was no lounge for Starwood Gold members and no hot tub. Neither seem like big deals at first glance, but when you're staying at a nicer than average hotel and asking people to pay for internet (still don't understand why this happens!) and $45 per night to park here, ya gotta have these pretty basic amenities. If I can get a hot tub at a place that's a third the price and a lounge with bottled water at comparable places, we start to question why we're choosing here. The beds remain amazing and the rain showers are as well, but to become a must stay spot, the Westin needs to bring it a bit tougher. read more

Rather than drive back to Bellevue, I wanted to do a short staycation in Seattle after a night at Bumbershoot. After putting in multiple bids on Priceline for a 3 star hotel, I was surprised to get the 4 star Westin at an awesome price. Have read the reviews below and I think it really boils down to whether the Westin warrants the price you pay. For me it was well worth it. The Westin is conveniently located on 5th Avenue and a block away from Westlake Center and Metro tunnels. It was also a leisurely 15 minute walk away from Seattle Center and in a less sketchy area of downtown. Since parking was exorbitant, I decided to just use Metro to and from Bellevue and it worked out really well since public transportation is good here. The Westin has two large towers (North and South). I think the North tower is preferable as the workout facilities are on this end. I was hoping to get a high floor hotel room to see what Seattle looks like from high above. I was happy when I was given one on the 39th floor. It faced towards Westlake Center which had a decent view, with partial views of Capitol Hill and Elliott Bay to the side. Room was comfy with a desk and bed facing the window. There was a seating area near the coffeemaker which was cozy. The bathroom was tighter than expected, but I like the Heavenly Spa shower and toiletries. The only complaint I had was the room was really chilly. I turned on the thermostat, but the room still felt frigid. As for facilities, I only used the fitness room. While it is kind of small, it definitely suits my needs and probably work for most travelers. There are a couple of dining options here including a fancy restaurant called Coldwater and a small cafe in the lobby which looked like it had a decent breakfast menu. Based on the price I paid and the amenities that I got, I was really pleased with my stay at Westin. It is a nice hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle. read more

The first time I was here was with my family and we had a great suite + additional room for an unbelievable price (got hooked up). Love the view, the cookies/fruits/champagne that they sent to our room:) on the house. The kids love the pool, not the biggest but it was nice for them. What makes the kids happy, makes mom happy. I went to the lounge bar downstairs to enjoy alone time and it was nice to be away for a few minutes. We had the best view from the 41st floor:) Nothing can beat our stay here at the Westin in Seattle. Thanks to our host who hooked us up with the rooms and everything else. Needed a place to spend a night in Seattle before heading out of town - so booked the Westin and was disappointed. The location is great - but with COVID, you would think they would stagger people on alternating floors. Our floor was packed. We ran into two other room occupants in the hall and another waiting for the elevator. The whole SARS outbreak happened on a single floor of a hotel. I was stunned. As a Bonvoy Gold member, I used points and was somewhat disappointed at the location of the room (4334 if you want to avoid) - facing loud turbines on the building across the way. There was NO "thank you for being a Bonvoy member" - NO recognition or appreciation at all. The rooms are DATED. The bathroom ceiling is really nasty. And no more coffee makers. As an aside (and not part of the review) the bar and restaurants on site are closed. A few in the block across the street offer dine in and carry out. read more

Ours worked for about a quarter of a cup of coffee then shut off would not turn back on we tried all the plug-ins would not come back on called down to ask for a new one about 30 minutes passed did not get it so we called down again and then the manager called back up told us where the coffee pot was located we told him we knew where it was just wasn't working finally got one I did not hold the pods that came in the room coffee spilled out all over the top out on the desk and on in to my purse that was sitting on the floor we then call down to let them know what was happening it was just a huge fiasco it went on for about two hours this back and forth read more

My husband and I checked into our room, and upon opening up one of the beds, we found the sheets hadn't been changed from the previous guest. I called to tell the staff that we had VISIBLY SOILED sheets, and two calls and 3 hours later someone came up to change them. We weren't offered anything to make up for it. Aside from that, the staff was very courteous and the rest of the hotel was clean. They're also pretty environmentally friendly (so they say). I made 3 reservations for September 6th, paying $410, $361, $362. I selected Westin because it was close to the Venue for my son's Tribute and several people came from out of town. I selected Westin because it said Parking available, and foolishly thought that meant parking was included. It wasn't, no big deal, $60 per car, ouch but whatever. When I looked at my separate parking invoice, they charged an additional$27.50 for room revenue, even though I had paid that on the 3 separate invoices. I called to ask for a refund of $27.59 on principle and even though the invoice was right in front of my face, the clerk wouldn't take the number - she had to create a CASE, requested my email and my name. . . both of which I know, and she said my name wasn't associated with my email. She said if I guessed she could tell me and it was my maiden name was but she wouldn't tell me the first name for privacy sake. This took 10 minutes. I asked how long it would take for the refund and she told me another 10 minutes and that I could call back at a different time if I didn't have the time. I don't have the time. Ask for the freaking invoice number and credit $27.59!!!!!!!!!!! All that customer service, all that high tech equipment to turn a 2 minute task into a 20 minute or more. I won't stay there again. The rooms were nice enough, the breakfast was super expensive but good. . . and the parking itself was quite handy!!! read more

The Westin Seattle is well located downtown, close to shopping, touristy things, restaurants, and companies like Amazon. Hotel/lobby: The porte-cochère is one floor down from the main lobby. The lobby itself is spacious, with a coffee place (can't recall if it's a Starbucks), and a lobby bar area with seating. Room: There are two towers, both circular in nature, so just about every room has some sort of city view. Rooms have a pull out sofa, desk, TV - your standard fare. Beds in the North Tower are getting a bit worn out, with them sinking in the middle, or with the noticeable dip on one side where solo travelers tend to get into bed (the side closest to the bathroom.) They has a new AC temp control unit on the wall, but my room stayed warm and stuffy due to it facing west on a warm day in Seattle. But they had a fan, and provided me one to use upon request. Bathroom: My 33rd floor North Tower room had a tub/shower combo with shower curtain, rain shower head with shower wand. Cost: Variable, but for downtown Seattle, rates are decent and comparable to other hotels Service: Staff are helpful and friendly - from room service, to service express, to reception. Overall: I'd give this hotel 5 stars if they start putting in new mattresses. Otherwise, well-located, quiet as there's only 10+ rooms per floor, gym has Peloton bikes, and there's a pool. read more

Rooms 1952, 2862 & 2954 Stay 9/4 thru 9/6 Bed Bug bites. No assistance with luggage upon arriving at the Westin hotel. NCL Cruise Transportation left us on the side walk, hotel no assistance with new hotel guest total in our group 10. A friend felt and hit her knee and back we reported the accident, while our two day stay in the hotel management or operation did not check on the status of the injuries. Lack of courtesy in behalf of the front desk staff about my friend injury until we called security. The room was not clean or pick up on our second day, we called front desk and there reply was that the hotel did not have enough staff to clean the rooms because of the pandemic. Two ladies in our group room 1952 and 2954 with bed bug bites. We all booked the hotel thru NCL cruise line a package cruise to Alaska with hotel and air fair. The hotel reservation was done by NCL. NCL reply to us regards to our hotel stay, a review of our Westin Seattle Hotel reports for does not acknowledge that we contact with the Guest Service staff regarding a fall of our traveling companion, as well as, service concerns. The hotel also confirmed, after room inspections, there were no findings of bed bugs.  We have all the information when the security came to the room to assist our traveling companion with first aid kit. Also, we did call front desk requesting clean towels, shower soap and asking why the room are not clean or replace the dirty towels. An email was sent to Mr. Obang the manager at Westin Hotel with photos and description. Our bodies including our craniums are itching as a result of the bed bug bites pictures are below see pictures of the bed bug bites and photo of my friend knee injury. Mr. Obang the hotel manager did not confirm receipt of the email. We take our concerns very seriously, the knee injury cause my friend pain and inconvenience for our two day stay at Westin Seattle. Good location, decent price, great customer service. Intially, after booking my room, I found out that self parking will be $45 overnight!!! That's insane! But luckily, there's parking across the street that will let you park overnight for $10! Which is a great deal! The hotel is within short distance from alot of restaurants and shops. And it's a short walk to the Pike Place Market, which is awesome because parking in the market will be difficult. The pool was nice, it's indoor and has a nice view of the city. I arrived before him and they would not accept a credit card over the phone at check in even though room was reserved. Also, they were RUDE! We have never experienced this problem before with other hotels. Highly disappointed with customer care and service. I would not recommend Seattle Westin. The bar however was friendly and kind during my TWO HOUR lobby wait. I couldn't go out because I don't know the area (out of towner) . Tim the bartender was kind and gracious he made my uncomfortable wait much more comfortable. As for the rest of the Westin staff, they made me feel unwelcome and out of place, in an area where I should have felt the opposite. A motel 6 has made me feel more welcome. Go figure! read more

Good place, friendly staff. Room needs to be updated a little but I did like staying here. Great location. you could walk to get anywhere downtown. close to pike street market. read more
