Have you heard my spiel about half-stars? Well, to be honest I don't even remember if I shared it yet. Thus, here goes: I am someone who believes that Yelp should have implemented half-stars from inception. I will spare you the spiel - I could wax poetic about this, but frankly it is not germane to the experience. So, let's say that the Westin Waltham is a 4.5 star experience. Overall terrific, but there are some minor annoyances. First thing first - driving down 128/95 many times, I saw this hotel, and it looked expensive. It seemed from the exterior like a 5-star place with all the bells and whistles that cost a fortune to stay at. Well... it's a 4-star hotel, and the pricing varies wildly. Sometimes a room is ~$100 a night, and sometimes it's ~$800 a night! I've stayed here three times thus far, and it is always the first place I look when returning home and in need of a place to crash. The main thing that keeps me coming back is the bedding. The first time I stayed here, I remember getting into bed and thinking that I am sleeping in a cloud. I have stayed at hotels that had softer beds that one sinks into, but this wasn't it. The mattress was a "medium" in my experience, yet likely as a combination of it and the bedding, it was something to be beheld. It's not wonder it is possible to buy their bedding, from the pillows to one of their mattresses! The hotel and the room were spotless, and felt very safe. The staff I've had the pleasure of interacting with have been friendly and kind. The room itself is well appointed, and has ample space. There were also plenty of outlets, The bathroom was spacious, had properly HOT water, great water pressure/volume, and I liked that their bath products didn't leave my skin feeling funky as some cheaper ones do. There is also a very dim nightline which is barely enough light, but with fully dark-adapted eyes, is enough light to not bump into anything. Now, for the aforementioned annoyances (in no specific order) 1. The LED light bar above the bed looks cool, but I am not sure it's functional. It is somewhat hard to reach from the bed, and it's too bright to work as a reading light (would disturb the other person). 2. Reaching the curtains to properly close them required some very mild gymnastics due to the furniture. This is something I was able to do without much issue, but is worth noting nonetheless. 3. The bath products were mounted too high. I am of right around average height, and it was a little awkward to reach nonetheless. Worse still, when going for the conditioner and not having the nozzle at the angle, it ended up spritzing... right in my eyes. Thankfully not as bad as shampoo, but still very unpleasant. 4. There is not hook for a towel when coming out of the shower. Furthermore, the only hook is on the door, and that already had a robe on it. This becomes an extra challenge when there are two people staying in the room. 5. The soap dish for bar soap seemed like it's seen better days, while clean, it was well worn, and not in a cute/rustic way. What keeps me coming back is their amazing bedding, and sometimes low prices. However, due to the notes above, the Westin falls short of perfection. Easy fixes though, mount the soaps lower, install some hooks (even simple Command hooks), and move around some furniture, and buy new soap dishes. As for the LED light bar, I'd give them a pass at that point.

Stayed for a night at The Westin Waltham. We checked in super late into the night, but the staff was very welcoming and friendly. We booked a traditional room with a king-sized bed. The room was clean, but not the cleanest as there was a stain on the bottom of the bed. Doesn't directly affect me but reflects on their attention to detail. The best part of this room was the king bed, as the bed was really comfy and spacious, and the sheets were astonishingly soft (I wish I knew where to buy them for my own bed TT). We got two breakfast tickets during check-in for the next morning. When we got to the eating area, they gave us an option to use the ticket for the AYCE buffet or to order from the menu up to a $25 value. The food was decent - pretty standard breakfast from a hotel, with eggs, sausage, bread, oatmeal, pancakes, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and orange juice.

Spent 2 nights at the Westin in Waltham for a meeting. When I arrived the hotel had very nice curb appeal. I was able to check in early which was appreciative. Staff were all very nice. Anytime I requested assistance they were available. They were not always accommodating but not sure they can always be. My room was nice- very simple and clean. Not much of a view (especially for being a Hilton honors member) but again - maybe there were many higher ranked guests. The pillows were super soft and the bed was comfortable. There is one restaurant that I know of. Located in the lobby they have a good variety of options. I got mine to go. Everything was hot and very tasty. One of the more innovative items they have is the concierge Robot. I was able to witness this robot in action (yes I followed it). One of the rooms requested a few toiletries. Instead of having a person bring these items to the room the robot was deployed. The needed items were put into the robot, pressed a few buttons and off he went. I watched the robot wait for the elevator, get on, get off and deliver the toiletries to the guest. Amazing. I need one of these at home!

I've come to expect fairly decent quality from the Westin brand so I was super nervous to book this place based on the really bad reviews on Yelp. I ended up very pleased with my experience. The room was super clean though a little cramped with the amount of furniture they had in it. I would have removed at least one of the chairs by the window to make more room but otherwise a very solid clean room is what I got. The facility is really nice, looked clean and the on site restaurant was a neat feature though I didn't visit the restaurant. Parking was at a cost but I should have taken my chances paying whatever the parking prices were because hotel charged me for parking yet when I left the parking lot there was no barrier to stop me from leaving hence no payment seemed to be required. I feel a bit ripped off paying for parking when I could have probably parked for free. Not a bad hotel at all and within a good proximity to the general Boston area if you don't want to pay the $500/night in the heart of Boston.

Parking was free on the weekend, which was nice, otherwise it's $10 per night. The staff member checking me was super nice and friendly, check-in was quick. When I walked in, the room had this strong odor.... at first it smelled like someone had smoked in the room, but looks like the housekeeping used way too much sanitizer. I had to open the window to air out the smell and get some fresh air in. I left the window open as I left and by the time I got back from dinner, the smell was gone. The bed was too soft for me. The place could use some renovations, especially its near all the business locations.

Wish I had read the reviews first. Stayed there last Saturday night. I asked at check in to be placed in a quiet room. The desk agent placed us in a room two doors away from the elevator and across from the utility closet. Went back to the front desk and asked again for a quiet room, agent said she had no idea the room was so close to the elevator. We were moved three doors down in the same hallway. The room though small was nice. We went out to enjoy dinner and a movie. When we returned I thought there were people talking outside our door. After over 20 minutes of this I went to check and it was voices traveling through the air vents. The next morning we discovered the remote for the TV would not change off of the Marriott/Bonvoy channel. Went to shower and found mold on the ceiling in the shower. Also the bathroom fan/vent didn't work. Checking out the people in front of us were complaining about their horrible experience. The same agent who checked us in also checked us out. Completey unphased hearing about the problems in the room. She didn't even look away from the computer screen to acknowledge I was ther talking with her. She couldn't even say "I am sorry you didn't have a great experience staying at our Westin." I used to love the Westin Brand, now I will read the local reviews and not stay at the Westin Waltham again. The Westin Waltham is not where you want to stay.

I arrived right around 5 PM in the middle of the week and there was only one person stocking the in-house store and handling check-ins. I could tell she was very busy, probably tired (rightfully so), but very professional and kind. She handed me a little welcome bag that contained two bottles of filtered water and a helpful information sheet. She promptly shared with me the Wi-Fi access information, which I greatly appreciated. Took the elevator up to my room and was pleased to find that the carpeting in the hallway was very thick, and that only half of the guestroom was carpeted. I like having a hard floor, however, the carpeting, draperies, and bedding all were in great condition. The microwave was small, but adequate for my needs, and the mini fridge was just as good. I really enjoyed the Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries they had, but noted that they didn't have the standard guest items like Q-tips. Almost had a meltdown in the morning when I thought I couldn't get the Keurig machine to work (lol), but it just had a little bit of a delay. The coffee was not Keurig, and was just OK, but it served its purpose (caffeine). I was disappointed that I did didn't see any recycling receptacles, so I collected my things in a brown paper bag and hoped they might be recycled. Check-in and checkout we're very easy using my digital key. Unfortunately, I was assigned the room right next to the elevator, so I could hear it rumbling with the doors slamming most of the evening and beginning again around 5 AM, but it did stop during the night, and it's not their fault. It's a hotel, and that happens. I would stay at this property again.

Apparently she told me when it looks like the person is gone. Housekeeping goes in and does cleaning early in spite of the hangtag which is your way of assuring privacy. At least I thought that was the way Hampton in worked Housekeeping manager was able to find the person who had cleaned the unit. Water pressure in the shower was excellent, as was the piping hot nature of the water. As for the breakfast, while I didn't partake, it seemed adequate. Beyond these, refinement in various areas is needed: Mattress: Clearly showing its age and due for replacement. There was a prominent slant to the side that I've not encountered in dozens of hotel stays. I slept okay, but it could have been better, Service: The person checking me in was extremely kind, welcoming, and a total professional. The person checking me out, however, had a bit of "I don't really want to be here" in her attitude. Understandable, but not great. Housekeeping: This should have been daily, but the team apparently missed my room. Coming back after being out past midnight to find the bed hadn't been made was less than fun. Hockey in the shower: While there is a mat in the bath, as the soap ran towards the drain it became terrifyingly slippery. Add the lack of a grab bar, and I showered in terror of being wheeled out naked by EMTs. Sorry for putting that image in your mind. It didn't help things that the drain was slow. Bathtub: showing its age, as some of the glaze had worn off. Alarm clock: Kaput. Noise: There was no noise coming from the street. We literally had to spray the entire room with Lysol just to get the smell and the bacteria out of that room I don't know what the last guess did in the room but nothing would surprise me considering we found used condums inside the bed pull out couch we Lysol sprayed that couch bed 3 times just to be safe. The bathroom was not so great either the vent fan didn't even work it was literally painted over the despite multiple requests maintenance just completely ignored us. At some point during our stay they started doing renovations to the rooms which included replacing the tvs we didn't know when they were coming to our room, we went out one day and came back to a new tv which I did not care for because the color was much worse than the old one was, and also my credit card was stolen they also did not notify us with a 24 hour notice they were coming to our room to switch out the tv, my mother is a stage 4 cancer patient we were sent here by the American cancer society which I don't understand why they are sending cancer patients here it is not the proper hotel for cancer patients at all they can't even keep the place clean the hallway literally went weeks without being vacuumed, I saw a cleaning lady sweep out a room full of dirt into the hallway and just left it there, I mentioned it to the manager among other complaints but she didn't seem to care about anything but money she even messed up our bill a few times some how. There was literally a room called trash room with a room just full of smelly trash and we also found trash in the back door hallway just sitting there a long with some drug attics sitting outside the door at night and the next morning I was taking my own trash out from our room and saw a used needle sitting outside the exterior door good thing I was looking and didn't step on it. They also went days without maintaining the trash in the front lobby and outside the front entrance both cans were just sitting there with trash overflowing to the ground. We paid thousands of dollars to stay there but yet they can't keep the place clean, no one is barely at the desk at all times, laundry for the bedding wasn't being done so we had to wait all day to extchange our bedding, because the overnight guy doesn't do his job, the housekeeper doesn't do her job she is just plain lazy. What the heck are we even paying for if nothing is being done. I am demanding all of my money back because they do not deserve it that place is a complete dump and screw that Genral Manager Chester for saying he didn't give a shit about my Mom having cancer that is completely out of line and unnecessary and American Cancer society needs to end this partnership with this location. I hope I get all my money back!

Board of health should inspect! Toilets don't work, no maintenance workers to fix! Mold on bathroom…read morewalls! Absolutely disgusting and obviously the city of Waltham has no standards for public safety and health! Alleged kitchen but it's not equipped, you would need to bring your own dishes and glasses .
