Jimmy was so helpful and so nice. This hotel is surrounded by other hotels and lots of restaurants. It's 6 mins away from the Market Place, which has a grocery store (Market Basket), a liquor store, Marshall's, and some other stuff. It is also very close to 95, so travel should be easy. There is a gas station feet away. So convenient There is plenty of hotel parking and it's free. The location is beautiful, very clean. The staff are all very polite. They have a pool that is open till 11. It's heated, so that's a plus. There is a bistro open from 6-10 for breakfast, which is a separate cost. Then they open again from 5-10 they serve drinks at that time and I think food as well. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are a decent size and it's nice and quiet here. I loved this hotel. The staff was very friendly & the prices were amazing for the condition and quality of this hotel. The rooms were a decent size. Only problem was I booked the bigger king room and it had 2 tvs that were a little close to each other so whenever I turned one on the other would turn off and vice versa so it wasn't easy to use the tv in bed. Our room is large and clean, and facilities throughout are pleasant, but compared to other hotels, there is a definite atmosphere of stinginess here. Rather than preparing the sofa bed for our daughter, which we had paid for in our room, we were left to make it ourselves. Bedding is spartan. Room thermostat is set so that it cannot exceed 75 degrees. Free internet is slow and, for some applications, unusable -- unless the guest upgrades for a fee. There is no complimentary coffee in the lobby (to say nothing of breakfast). In planning our future visits to Boston, the Courtyard by Marriott Boston Waltham will not be our first choice. read more

Quite don't understand why all courtyard cannot be the same. Highly disappointed as this location was definitely not as modernized and clean as the other locations I have stayed at. The 1st floor is beautifully renovated but it surely doesn't match the rooms. The first room assigned to me had a hole in the bedsheet and immediately called the front desk to notify them. Later I was assigned another room that also had a hole in the bedsheet. Considering this is Marriott this was not expected. I do appreciate the room change but that honestly made no difference as the same issue persisted despite room swap. The room was decent size, clean for the most part expect for ants crawling by the tv area. Bathroom was ok as the tub had yellow stains. Upon checkout these issues were mentioned and the host simply said sorry. No further acknowledgement as to if they are going to resolve it or not. Definitely not my top pick for next time. Better than this was Best Western which is across the street about the same price. read more

I like this place, I have heard road noise complaints from coworkers but the 5th floor is great! The bed is firm but comfortable, pillows aren't as soft as I like. Detergent is too harsh for sensitive skin types. Blackout curtains are good, heating is great, lovely constant gentle white noise versus turning on and off all night. The hair dryer is amazing! I normally byo, but forgot, I was a bit terrified but my hair looks better here than it does at home. Hot breakfast is available onsite, quality is ok because nothing is made fresh, it is heated up in a Starbucks style oven. The onsite gym is workable too, free weights, a bench, some ab balls, a life fitness all in one machine and a couple treadmills. There is a pool, hottub, and a hotel bar with a few dinner choices. I'm not used to rude staff when I stay at a Marriott, but the day-shift clerk easily convinced my wife and I to leave 10 days early. The night-shift clerk (Diana) was tremendous, but for the girl on day-shift, obviously customer service is not her forte and she should seek employment elsewhere so not to have to deal with customers. We easily found another hotel, where the room air conditioning actually works and they have maid service, and were treated like paying customers. read more

Came to get away for the weekend and it was great. Restaurants are nearby and although I came in late at night I was greeted by Brian who was super friendly and everything that matched on par to the rest of the staff, upkeep, and decor. Ample parking and sufficient entries so we are not too far from the car. Loved the high ceilings, has sofa beds that pull out in every king bed, Keurig coffee, love the new showers with great pressure. Had the new Netflix and YouTube options, and Internet was stable. Heating and cooling was effective it kept the room exactly how we had set it. Beds were super comfy and lamp fixtures and everything was modern. What a great hotel! read more

The Courtyard by Marriott in Walham was recently remodeled and was bright, modernly decorated and very nice throughout. The lobby featured a small cafe and lots of seating for meeting with friends or reading the newspaper. Free wi-fi was available throughout the hotel. Parking was also free. The location of the hotel was great because it was only five minutes from Dassault Systèmes headquarters where I was attending a training. It was close enough that I probably could have walked if the weather had been warmer. I'm was very satisfied with my stay and would recommend this hotel if you need to stay in Waltham. One note, besides the cafe at the Marriott there were no restaurant options within walking distance that I noticed. There were many restaurants within a short drive though. read more

I've stayed here quite a bit, but never in a room with the windows facing the highway. It was SO LOUD and I hardly slept at all. Do yourself a favor and be sure to ask for a room with windows on the opposite side of the highway...you can thank me later. read more

Stayed here overnight without the wife so maybe that put me in a bad mood and thus this mixed review! Brought my son for an overnight at Brandeis and this property is located about 4 miles from campus. There is a ton of construction going on around this hotel and the roads are confusing, and I got the feeling the car GPS literally threw her hands up in the air and said "enough!" Above the hotel, further up the hill, there is a blasting zone and the roads are even more confusing up there. My hotel window overlooked the free parking area, a gas station, construction and an office building. The property is directly off 95 and if you cross 95 there is a Costco and a Home Depot and some chain-type restaurants. This entire area also has several hotels to choose from from that range from much nicer to similar and imagine no one is choosing Courtyard Marriott for the ambiance. As for the hotel, I booked last minute, meaning day of arrival and the price was $79 for a 312 sq ft. room with a king bed and a sofa bed. The lobby looks like it was renovated in the last 5 years while the rest of hotel looks like a 1970s to 1980s interior design job with boring coloring and worn carpets. BUT remind yourself $79! The room itself is relatively standard but the TV is large which is a nice touch. I imagine we all have stayed in rooms where binoculars are needed to see the tv screen... but hot here, maybe 50 inch screen which was surprising. There is a small Keurig machine which is a nice touch, as well as a small fridge. And whomever designed the room needs to be spoken to because as far as I could determine there is a light switch on the wall for a weak overhead light when you enter and one in the bathroom but everywhere else you have to manually turn the lights on whether wall units or stand alone lamps. Imagine fiddling around in really low light finding the switches. The desk had some weird bumps on it. The AC is loud as in you eventually give up trying to fall asleep and turn up the temp so it doesn't come on. The hall noise is really loud as in sounds of doors slamming all night long which is among the reasons I slept for about 4 hours. I get the feeling a lot of families stay here and looked like there were tournaments going on with teams staying at the property. There was a pretty bad stain on the bed which I didn't see until the low light gave way to more brightness after the lights were turned on. Not sure what the stain was and definitely don't want to know! I was debating asking for a new room or getting a new bed spread... but see first line... no wife = me being in a bad mood and I have to believe she would have raised hell whereas I just dealt with it. The bed itself was too soft for my liking. The shower, along with the TV, are the best parts of this room. That shower has some serious power and the massage mode is perfect. The breakfast was grab and go and for me it was just go! No coffee or tea, just small cartons of milk, name brand cereals and some mass produced danishes. Guests and the employees were wearing masks which is important and there are hand sanitizers around the property. All in all, if the price remains below or around $80 per night this is a hotel to consider. Because of that price I feel like one should expect a mixed experience. If you want a little more luxury and a hot breakfast there are other options nearby that will range from $120-$180 per night. read more

I stayed at this hotel for nine months in 2016. I would rate this hotel as 'adequate', but nothing more. If it was not for the location of the hotel and my loyalty to Marriott, I would have stayed elsewhere. The rooms were generally clean and the standard Courtyard layout. The rooms facing the highway were very noisy. The beds were good, but the bathrooms are not well lit. I was able to get to know a large portion of the working staff and they were all great. My biggest complaint is regarding the management of the hotel. I never figured out if it was the owner (Park Lodge) or the GM that struggled with the day to day operations of the hotel. Regardless, I would strongly suggest that Melissa and Bob attend some Hospitality conferences and classes. read more

What has become of the Marriot? Make a reservation for a week and they put in a disclaimer that the rates may change over your stay. With no top end or cap. That is a deal breaker. A new Courtyard in this area, so are the interiors. This hotel lobby area is nice and fresh with a cute full bar for you to relax with a drink or two. Since this place is close to a lot of business/industrial parks, the hotel is full of business attired men/women. Price is still out of my league again, but I think it's a bit more expensive than the previous one I stayed. Everything seems to be much better than the previous one at the very beginning. Disappointed, disappointed, disappointed............ 1. The pillows couldn't support my neck at all. I couldn't sleep too well for two nights. 2. The road construction is going and going, dong-dong, dong-dong, dong-dong~~ That's why I am still awake to write this review. 3. The room is so cold that even I want to turn up the air-con, it will still stay at 75F on the machine and I have to wear jacket in the room the whole time. 4. Internet is free, but it needs a cable to connect and the cable is so SHORT that I have to sit in front of the "desk" all the time when I am working on my computer. 5. Breakfast is NOT free. Even though I don't really have time to enjoy, I am still not too happy with THE fact. From all above, I will try some other near-by Courtyard next time. An awesome Marriott hotel a little outside the city! This Marriott hotel is perfectly situated a little outside downtown, about a 20 minute drive. The best part is the hotel has ample free parking, so you don't have to pay outrageous downtown prices. The hotel and rooms are clean, modern, and perfect for any traveler. There's also a pool, hot tub, and workout room. The only real downside is they don't have a free breakfast. Other then that the hotel is great! read more

For a business trip, this place is great, but for a luxurious or romantic getaway, you'll want to try somewhere else. They cover all the basics and do them well, but it's decidedly no-frills. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-designed. It was built in the early 2000s so it's a little more up-to-date than other Courtyards. They have a fitness center with a few treadmills, a bike, free weights, and an all-purpose weight machine. The pool is small, but good enough for short laps or if you're bringing your kids. They have free wired Internet in all rooms and wireless in the lobby that you can pick up if you're on one of the lower floors. There's no room service and there's only one restaurant (Piccadilly Pub) within walking distance so you'll either have to drive somewhere or rely on the Takeout Taxi service advertised in the room. Be sure to stop by the bar in the lobby and unwind by the fireplace. The bartender - Tina - will hook you up with some good restaurant recommendations and a few raunchy jokes. read more

There are quite a few hotel options in Waltham these days, but I must say that this Coutyard is your best option (even better than the Westin across the street). Even though the building is less than a few years old, they are still making major improvements. On my last visit (Jan 2011) they were remodeling the lobby and already upgraded the gym to include brand new workout machines. The rooms aren't "wired for business" yet, but they have very nice 40+" TVs in the room that have hook-ups for everything you might need (HDMI, Component, VGA, etc.). The internet speeds are also very good, I was able to stream video at over 1Mb throughout my stay. If you are traveling for business in the Norther Boston area, this is the place to stay. read more

When it comes to Marriott Courtyard this place is the perfect example of the brand! After a nice night in Cambridge we decided to spend the night so I started calling all the Marriott in the area and this was the only place where we could get four rooms, and I am glad we stayed here. Great location right off of I-95 and 10 min drive from Cambridge. The lobby is clean and neat. The bistro is nice with Starbucks products. It is greatly priced. There is plenty parking on site. The room are spacious and well decorated. Very clean. The bathroom was impeccable. The temperature was just how I liked it. The beds are awesome, I love Marriott beds. There was a K-cup like coffee machine. You are very close to Boston and Cambridge. I would look to stay here again. read more

The "bar" closes at 10pm even on Saturdays, and is generally unattended during the day/evening. Pool and spa are small and uncomfortable. Elevators are excluded from any sort of air circulation, let alone air conditioning. The room was okay but housekeeping cleaned us out before we even checked out, despite the Do Not Disturb sign which was in place. We had coffee and juice which was *purchased* from the "bar" downstairs... thrown out because they assumed we were gone. Again, we hadn't even checked out yet. This hotel was surprisingly disappointing. I will not be spending the money to stay here again. Not worth it AT ALL. For the price, I would have expected at least a complementary breakfast. I find Courtyards to be pricey for what you get, but it's like a McDonald's - you know what you're going to get. In this case, older CRT TV with a remote that can only scroll down channels, noisy AC unit, noisy refrigerator (until I unplugged it so I can get some sleep), location by the freeway. This is a hotel packed into a little cluster of hotels right off Rt. 128/95. Very central, if you are willing to stay outside of Boston. Really it's a 3 star hotel. Not fancy, not shady. Clean, serviceable, updated (but not stylish or swanky). Great functional hotel for about $100/night. But the service the last time I stayed was beyond excellent. When you arrive in 2AM, and your greeting is cheerful, rather than surly, that's a win. And it continued through my stay. They were helpful, and informative rather than bored or disengaged. Definitely worth another star. The only thing that might make you raise an eyebrow is the layout of the bed. As you walk in the room, it is down the hall, hidden on the left. It's a bit of an odd layout. Not really a huge deal - the bed is still nice - but you do notice it. You can see it in the pic of the room. read more

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Waltham when traveling to the Boston area. The hotel is located in a business district with other hotels and many companies in the complex. We checked in around 6pm and the staff was very helpful. We had been walking around freezing Boston all day so the first thing we did was jump in the hot tub which felt amazing. The hotel is right off of the highway so we were able to yelp different places to go to from there for dinner. Our room was very clean and comfortable and although I didn't use it, the gym looked great! I would definitely recommend staying here if you're in the Boston area. read more

I grew up in Waltham and travel home several times a year to see family and friends. The Courtyard is always my first choice. * Free parking. * Staff is always super friendly and great at their jobs. * Hotel interior and the rooms are aesthetically pleasing and cozy. * Free wifi in the room. * The huge bathtub. Dude, seriously. So relaxing. * Beds are ridiculously comfy. I'm an insomniac, and I always fall right to sleep here and wake up refreshed. * Starbucks in the lobby as soon as you roll out of bed. * The gym is perfect. Tons of cardio, some free weights, and a top of the line universal machine. * Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Can be a little crowded sometimes so I just keep checking back until it's empty. The only reasons I ever choose a different hotel is: a) When, for some reason, the higher end hotels across the street offer a lower rate. They are nice, too, but Courtyard just feels more chill. b) In summertime it's nice to have an outdoor pool. I'm checking out the Burlington Marriott In July to see how it compares. Stay tuned. FYI, plenty of great restaurants in Waltham. Bertucci's is walking distance from the hotel. Check out Moody St, too, for some of the best restaurants in the metro west area. read more

I read the good reviews and stayed here for a class reunion weekend. Unfortunately my experience wasn't as positive for the following reasons: Not enough wall insulation between rooms so I could hear people in adjacent rooms; no fabric softener was used on linen or towels so they were hard and scratchy; no complementary breakfast so you must buy from a limited menu; the clock by the bed didn't work; and one of the two elevators was broken resulting in long waiting. It is a nice hotel but they obviously cut corners when they renovated. On the plus side, it's located well and was cost effective. Since it was recently renovated it is very attractive. read more

We set up a block of rooms for our wedding at the Lyman Estate, and I'm so glad we used the Courtyard. Working with Lisa was great. She was always quick to respond, and she was great about making sure we had enough rooms available even though our wedding was the weekend of The Head of the Charles. Plus, each night there was a bottle of wine and breakfast vouchers waiting for my husband and me. So thoughtful! The hotel has a lovely new lobby that is clean and modern, just like the rooms are. My guests were incredibly comfortable and really enjoyed their stays. Rooms have k-cups, comfortable beds, fridges, and just a really comfortable set up. The restaurant downstairs does not offer lunch, but the coffee and breakfast items were great, and there are great choices for food close by. Also, the front desk staff was just so nice. They were really sweet to my Southerm, talkative parents, and I really appreciated how thoughtful they were. We were very happy to have chosen the Courtyard for our wedding guests and would recommend it. read more
