Wow, this place totally does not look like it belongs in this neighborhood at all! My sister and I planned to come here for lunch one weekday that I was off from work and she was visiting. I am SO glad we made the trek - it was really worth it! The interior is welcoming, rustic, and charming. The one man show, with a cook right in view was probably the only downside. It took awhile to get our food, and the server/bartender all in one definitely didn't want to be at work that afternoon because he didnt really have any patience with our questions about the menu. The ordering style is marking up a menu with an erasable marker and giving it to the server. You can make your own creation or order off their pre-made sandwich menu, which is full of amazing things besides just grilled cheeses. We got the Brussels Sprout and Tater Tots, both out of this world, the Iavarone, and a self- designed grilled cheese. The grilled cheeses were toasted and heated perfectly through with amazing flavor, even the crazy one we created. We enjoyed our meal a lot and the prices are decently affordable. This was my second time ordering from this place and EVER.RY.TIME. It was FRESH!! Do you know how difficult it is to order salad and have it be fresh when delivered 30 minutes later? Uhmm yeah, very hard; but Wheelhouse did it. I'm not a sandwich person because I don't really care for bread nor cold cuts (hey don't judge), but this place have gourmet sandwich, with real meat and fresh bread. DELIVERED. HOT. I was skeptical about coming here due to the yelp consumer alert about the possibly fake reviews. I read a few good reviews from some elite members and decided to give it a try. How bad could they mess up a sandwich? We went on a Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch. It was a snowy, ugly day so it was pretty quiet. We were immediately greeted from a guy behind the bar who told us to "make ourselves at home". Nice touch. The menu is cool and unique. You check off your meal of choice with an erasable marker directly on the laminated menu. I got the Cuban sandwich with a side salad and a glass of rose. What to say about wheelhouse? It's hard to know where to even start. I'm a cheese lover, so this place is where it's at, but even if you aren't a cheese lover you're still sure to find something you'll love. First of all, the vibe is super casual and neighborhoody. Not pretentious at all. The food is the same, plus its delicious. My favorite sandwiches are the braised short rib (red wine braised short rib, carmelized onions, arugula, gruyere, and blackberry jam) and the outcast (beer battered cod, dill pickles, cheddar and Chipotle mayo). Yum, I'm getting hungry writing this. My two other menu favorites are the crispy fried brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze and capers (capers for the win!), And the Hakuna Burrata salad (arugula, tomato, pesto, balsamic glaze and a big ol' ball of Burrata cheese). YUM. They also have some solid happy hour specials and a couple great daft selections. I've ordered delivery from them a few times as well and the food is consistent with dining in. After finishing our dinner we continued drinking and while drinking our third round of beers only "halfway empty" all of the sudden she dropped off the check at the table without asking if we were done. Two minutes later she came back for the check and we asked her if we could have another round of drinks, she reply she had brought the check because there was about to start some sore of trivia and it was gonna get very loud. With that in mind, my friends enjoyed their orders (a regular grilled cheese and a reuben). I ordered the mac and cheese, which is considered an appetizer, but it was filling. The service: pretty negligent. There were three of us and we were shuffled around twice and I had to ask our server twice to wipe down our table that was covered in crumbs and food. My friend apparently looked at the menu before hand and ordered our apps for us. I was hesitant on the Brussel sprouts being I am not a fan of them ... But wow! I was shocked by the flavor & texture of these little sprouts. I must say I am now a fan. Also, we had the Mac & Cheese + Tater Tots. All perfectly cooked & flavorful. For our main dish (little full at this point, but couldn't not make a custom grilled cheese sandwich) especially because they make it so fun with the erasable board. After some debating between all the different options (especially cheeses) I went with: Ciabatta bread Provolone + Fresh Mozzarella onions, tomatoes, & pickles. We've tried the tater tots with cheese and bacon on top and they were good. Nothing special though. I've been getting the rueben sandwich with house made chips, and first two times it was very tasty, perfect amount of sour kraft and meat. However, my third time, the meat was super fatty and oily. I just took it out because you couldn't even cut out the fat. I know, it's not supposed to be 100% lean meat, but this was too much. My boyfriend got a grilled cheese with tomato soup, which is +$1. He said it was your average grilled cheese. The place looks very comfy and modern. They have windows open in summer, so I would recommend going when it's nice out! read more

I frequent this place eating in, takeout, and delivery and my goodness - that Panavia Tornado sandwich does NOT get old. Pros: Delicious sandwiches. Handmade and fresh-tasting each and every time. Amazing sides (amazing tomato bisque, you MUST try the Brussel sprouts, and of course you can never go wrong with the plantains). The decor in the place is a little southern rustic (reminds me of a few of my favorite places in North Carolina) and the wait staff are always nice and ready to offer suggestions. They also keep a great beer list in the summer and the Tuesday night trivia is always a good time! Cons: Sometimes takes a good while to get your sandwich. I'd say add 5-10 minutes onto whatever app you order from says it'll take to be ready for pickup or be delivered. If you're dining in and its a full house, might take a couple times to flag down your waitress/waiter. If you "don't like sandwiches" your options are somewhat limited BUT they do offer GF bread and as stated, the sides are truly delicious and surprisingly filling. read more

I live right around the corner and this has become my GO TO spot for dinner, brunch, lunch, wine.... literally they have it all. Every grilled cheese I have tried has been incredible! I tried to call the restaurant multiple times - using the number provided on their website - to let them know about the issue but never got through to anyone.
