Chris behind the bar remembered me from the only one time he's served me - handed me a vegetarian menu as soon as I sat down. I have never had one menu item that I didn't absolutely LOVE. I could eat here every day of my life. As a vegetarian, they have THAT many options to choose from! Bathrooms are clean, bar is cozy, lots of friendly locals.

Went on a first date here in 2023 ago and just married him! The food and ambiance at The Wherehouse are fun, conducive of good conversation, and make you feel like you know everyone! We make a point of stopping by and reliving our first date on a regular basis. You can't go wrong with the burgers and the cuisine feels very elevated for the type of establishment. Love the staff too!

Mac and cheese is serious business. I had the Philly mac and friend had one of the burgers.

Sooooo many options! Love that the had a huge menu with so many great options, and a whole separate menu for vegetarians and vegans with just as many options. They have some creative veggie dishes. We ordered the barnyard blast burger and a vegan BLT. Food came out fast and was tasty. Servers were friendly and helpful. It's small inside but had quite a few tables. Cozy and eclectic. Wish this was closer to us. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, is that they brought me a glass to pour my beer into, and it still had lipstick on it from someone else.

This may well be the best place to get a burger. It is a dive, but that is what makes this place so awesome. Everywhere you look, there is something way cool to see. The burger is beyond good. The bun compliments the burger well. The fries need to be a bit crispier, but then I didn't come here for the fries. And this place has a HUGE beer selection from many local breweries.

Yall ever have that type of spot that makes you feel like you could relocate to whatever city it's in? Welp, Wherehouse was that for me this weekend. My friend and Newburgh native and I were catching dinner after a day at the lake. We usually keep it simple - burgers, beer, and wings for our post-fun eats and she was excited to take me here. "This will be our kind of vibe," she said. As soon as I walked in I knew she was right. Moody lighting, nice range of drafts (no sours though, booooo), great kitsch and artwork on the walls. Laid back and local. I ate good at the lake so kept it on the lighter side for late dinner. Here's our roundup: Korean garlic wings Portuguese calamari Brisket potato skins Mexican street corn The wings were legit - juicy, a little kick on the tongue. And the corn made a nice road snack back to NJ (mind your business). My friend enjoyed her 2 dishes and beer and I snagged a yummy bourbon cocktail with my wings and corn. Service was solid and personable. Def a spot where if you come enough you'll have a fave server. Oh and for my big friends, the seats are solid wood. And we love that!

Ambience is dive bar, service is just ok, food - other than a great burger - was meh. There are so many other places around with better food and service.

Good food, large portions, friendly wait staff - couldn't have been happier! Stopped by here for lunch after spending the day at stormking - we came in ravenous and the place did not disappoint. We got the buffalo mac n cheese, poutine, pulled pork sandwich and the chilli digs and everything was delicious.

Great burger, great appetizers and a slew of fantastic drinks. There seem to be more staff and folks tending the bar that I seem to remember over the last couple of years but there's nothing wrong with that. For the locals the wherehouse is definitely a comfortable place to go, a great place to hang out on the weekends especially in the summer. Tons of parking around the area and lots of other little things to go and see as well on Liberty street. But with the live music and the good food you can spend a couple hours here without a problem.

Had a kickass time here for drinks w the pals a few weeks back. It was crowded but in a good way- everyone was having a great time and it felt like a chill and friendly atmosphere. We only stopped in for drinks but I checked the menu out after I went home and the selection plus the vegetarian menu.. I will be back to try out the eats. Artsy decor and the bathroom was dope Alice in wonderland theme! Affordable beverages and from the smells coming from the kitchen, idk what the good prices are (which are affordable as well) bc I'll be back!

    Mondo Bizzaro Wings

My husband visited her a few years ago and came home raving about their Mondo Bizzaro wings. He said they were the best he has ever had. On our way home from Maine, we happened to drive past a sign for Newburgh and he immediately had me change our destination from home to The Wherehouse! Let me tell you, he did not exaggerate. This sauce is by far the best wing sauce I have ever had. The owners ended up chatting with us and we had the absolute best experience. Our food came out fresh and hot and absolutely delicious. Thank you for your amazing hospitality and chatting with us. Our trip to The Wherehouse was absolutely worth the extra time it took to get home!

I was craving something hearty and healthy so naturally, I went for the pearly bowl which originally comes with couscous, roasted cauliflower, golden raisins (trust me these add THEEEE touch), pickled red onions (YUM), tahini sauce, avocado, and a lemon-mint vinaigrette - THISSSSSS. I ended up substituting the couscous for quinoa which was perfect for the type of meal I wanted before traveling. Can we talk about that lemon-mint vinaigrette? It's perfectly green and brings the whole bowl together, SO GOOD. Wish I would've gotten a whole side of that. Ordering delivery through Yelp is so easy thanks to DoorDash and I was so thankful I didn't have to be stuck eating chips and m&ms - love these but I needed a little something more. Next time you're taking a flight from Newburgh airport be sure to get delivery from Ms Fairfax. Can't wait to try their crepes and green goddess wrap from their breakfast and lunch menu!

First, the bartender was so lovely! I don't drink so I was truly impressed with the number of non-alcoholic beverage options available. I initially ordered a non-alcoholic drink, but then I saw the Shark Attack Mocktail and asked if I could switch to that. Thankfully I caught her right before she started making the first drink! The mocktail was sooo cute and actually really tasty! (See photo I included). I loved the theme of it, especially as summertime is officially here. Now let's talk about the arcade part of this place! The machines take quarters, so use the ones you have in your pocket! No quarters? No problem! They have a machine that will give you them, however it only accepts $1 and $5 bills. No cash? Also not a problem! They have an ATM on site. They really did think of everything, here! Most of the games are old skool, such as Pac-Man, Pinball, Dance Dance Revolution, etc. They also have a claw machine, however it's rigged so don't waste your time or quarters on it (which is exactly what I did, hahah!). Pac-Man is two players and my husband and I had a lot of fun with that one! I also LOVED Dance Dance Revolution (located in the far left corner in the back, behind the bar area) and wish I had found it before I wasted most of our quarters. Most of the games take anywhere from $0.50 to $1 to play, so keep that in mind. The patio is very large and much quieter compared to inside. I loved the atmosphere with all the string lights! They also have two little seating areas that are gated (which kind of look like adult playhouses?) which I think would be an awesome spot to chill with your friends + your dog. No fear of your pup running off! Regarding food: they do have a small menu, however it's mostly snack items like mozzarella sticks, a giant pretzel, things to that nature. What's cool, though, is that they offer vegan chicken nuggets!! Not a lot of bars have these, so it's definitely worth noting. 11/10 recommend that you stop in here while visiting Beacon! We absolutely loved it and would come back in a heartbeat!

It was founded by husband and wife Johnny Coughlin and Alyssa Follansbee. Coughlin is a cinematographer by trade while Follansbee is a public school art teacher. In 2011, the couple were both living in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. When the Emporium Arcade bar opened in their neighborhood, they both fell in love with the concept of an arcade bar. They later moved to New York City and visited as many arcade bars as they could with the intent to one day open one of their own. By 2018, the couple relocated upstate to Beacon to start a family. It dawned on them that Beacon would be a great location to open a "barcade". The couple didn't just want to open a place for adults to chase the nostalgia of their childhood, but rather a place that the whole family could enjoy. After securing a location on Main Street, and after a short delay from the COVID-19 pandemic, Happy Valley Arcade Bar finally opened to the public. I recently visited Happy Valley with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. I've loved arcade bars since the first time I visited a Barcade location in 2014. I love sipping on excellent craft beers while enjoying the classic arcade cabinets of my youth. I also appreciate it when arcade bars are family friendly, as both of my sons have also taken an interest in arcade games. We all enjoyed the interior of Happy Valley with all of the crazy colors and spaceship-themed decor on the walls. There was a decent selection of classic arcade cabinets as well as pinball machines, both of which kept my sons occupied for a while. In addition to a nice selection of craft beer on draught, the bar also offers wine, craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and various bar bites such as chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and mac 'n' cheese bites. There were also plenty of seating options both inside and outside. We had already eaten lunch earlier, but I was definitely in the mood for some tasty brews while I played some games. I first enjoyed a Thin Man Brewery's "Pills Mafia" (German Pilsner) followed by an Old Glenham Brewery's "Weaver's Pale Ale" [on cask]. Both of them were flavorful and refreshing. We ended up staying for over an hour; it was nice bonding time for my sons and me. We will definitely stop in again the next time we're visiting Beacon!

We were seated for 20 minutes where we were told someone would be over to take our order. I saw 3 servers coming and going to other tables but never looking in my direction after 20 minutes a server was lurking from the main dining area looking out when she finally made eye contact with me I believe the expression on my face made her aware that no one came over. She approached and asked had anyone came over. She proceeded to finally take our orders. After we received our orders I asked for a spoon for the oxtails. She came out 4 times to help others at their table, then she noticed me trying to get gravy on my rice with a fork and I guess it clicked she returned hands full with said spoon wrapped in a napkin I had to take it from her because she was unable to hand it to me. Food is great but the service REALLY NEEDS WORK. When your patrons are seated PLEASE DON'T LET THEM JUST SIT THERE.
