    Old fashion little restaurant

They're open, great news! Had a nice time reading bits and pieces of newspaper snippets about there past. All the way back to 1940!! Talk about nostalgia and being taken back to simpler times. The waitress was very nice. I wasn't hungry so I ordered something simple. My husband had biscuits and gravy and he loved it. My mom had French toast and two pieces of bacon. My advice to them when business picks up and things get better, please invest in sugar alternatives for those who do not use regular sugar or Sweet'N Lo. For example: Stevia or Monk Fruit. Although I would be happy with Splenda. So not being able to drink a cup of coffee with a better sugar alternative was a little sad. But I'll survive and I hope "The Whip" survives as well. The other great thing was that my elderly mom was able to pick up the check and it was South of $20 for three people with tip. She was so pleased. She said oh wow, that's good.

This is classic restaurant that has been here since 1940. The soup, burgers, and fries were GREAT. On Tuesday 8-15-23 around noon a single employee was running the whole restaurant and she had been there since 4am, this is an example of hard work for young people. Many generations of people have been coming here.

Took the family to The Whip this evening for din din. We were seated immediately as the place wasn't full. I was expecting a long-standing establishment such as this to be busy on a Friday night. Our waitress was friendly and she quickly took our drink orders. I ordered a root beer and liver and onions for dinner, which came with a salad. Actually, I let my daughter order for me, and she chose liver and onions. It was pretty good...all liver tasting and such. I haven't had liver and onions since I was a kid, but it appeared to have been cooked well. It was a thin slice, I'll bet, because liver has a strong iron flavor. I finished it, but I probably won't let my daughter order liver and onions for me anywhere again. I'm hoping I got some kind of health benefit from it. I got a side of mashed potatoes, which came with gravy too. They were tasty. No beer - bummer. The side salads could use a little sprucing up too. We sat next to the pay phone, which not only works, but they use it. There were at least two incoming calls while we were there that the waitress took while leaning over our booth. Interesting, but not unusual in a 76-year stronghold. My family said their food was good. The meal went pretty quick, which was nice because we wanted to get home for the Cavs game! I'll be back to taste the pierogies.

How has this place not been reviewed yet?! Its been there FOREVER and its called the frickin WHIP! Family owned mom-and-pop home cookin. Chicken paprikash, salsbury steak..you know the drill. Guess it deosnt have a d-bag celebrity chef or hasnt been on Food Network yet. Check it out anyway. They dont serve booze so get hammered first!

The beef on the hot roast beef sandwich was stringy. The mashed potatoes were fake. What a disappointment.

It had a very old-fashioned feel to it with the old booths, a pay phone, and old cash register.

We even purchased cans to take home. The staff were so friendly! They food was very good. They have a mug club and by the looks of it there are lots of members. We were seated right away but the dining room was very full and it took a little while for our server to make her way to our table. She was very friendly but obviously managing a lot of tables at once. By the time our server got to us we were ready to order. I tried the Shrimp and Grits, which were fantastic, flavorful and well spiced. The classic schnitzel dinner was also great, the breading was crisp and the meat was juicy. We also ordered the winter salad with salmon. Delicious! The schweinhaxe was what brought us here on a Sunday evening as my dad has been wanting to try it for a long time and there's limited availability. It is a slow smoked pork knuckle served with a side of apple bread pudding. My dad reported that the knuckle was tender and flavorful, smoked well and the bread pudding was the perfect compliment. All in all, all of our dinners were delicious and fresh. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu!

Parma Heights is so far, guys. So so far... So after fangirling over the lush, girly decor and taking ALL the pictures ever, my 5 friends and I ordered at the counter a bougie drink and a plate of food each. There's abundant seating in this two story cafe so we found a table and waited between 5 and 10 minutes for it all to be ready. Despite my goal to stop spending money on beverages, I spent $8 on a regular sized iced decaf carrot cake latte with almond milk. Delicious and definitely instagrammable, but RIP to my money. I regret not taking the lovely glass it was served to me in, but my conscious kicked in and I didn't pilfer it. Haha! For dinner, I originally wanted to get a pizza but changed my mind last minute due to it being 90 degrees outside. So instead, I got an italian panini with a side of potato chips ($14). I don't like mayo so asked that be taken off. The only sauces they have are mayo, hot sauce, and horseradish mayo. I got the horseradish mayo on the side, but didn't really use it. I hope they can add mustard and ketchup to their sauce lineup in the future. All in all, I spent about $24. All 6 of us had very instagramable food and drinks. They looked better than they tasted for the most part. I liked my drink and panini but didn't love it, especially for the price. My friends lavender lemon loaf was gorgeous, but sadly dry. I love the look, like the menu, and wish Cafe Blanc wasn't so outrageously far away! I'd love to get brunch here with my gal pals! I wanna get one of their dessert crepes, please and thank you! I am giving Cafe Blanc 4.5 stars out of 5.

We all visited Cafe Blanc for the first time and loved our experience especially the large (free) parking lot. We sat on the 2nd level towards the back. QUICK REVIEW (read this if you don't want to read this whole review): Try the potato pancakes. Great food and service. Slightly more elevated cafe. Busy during peak morning/afternoon hours and most likely less busy in the evenings. I have not been in the evening yet. Free parking lot and free wifi. FOOD - there are lots of food options to choose from for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have sandwiches, salads, pizza, and pastries. I arrived around 10:20am so I wanted breakfast. I read that the croissants are okay but I haven't tried them. I ordered the potato pancakes, blueberry hibiscus tea (hot) as a dine-in order plus a slice of almond cake as a takeout order. The potato pancakes ($19) was delicious. It comes with 3 thick potato pancakes topped an egg on the center and with bacon bits spread all over. The potato pancakes also come with sour cream on the side which I didn't realize so I moved that to the side of my plate because I don't like or eat sour cream. I would order the potato pancakes again as a savory breakfast item but $19 is a little steep for the price. The blueberry hibiscus tea ($4) was a refreshing drink served on a mug. If you enjoy the combination of white tea leaves, rose hips, natural blueberry, and hibiscus then this tea is for you. I also ordered an almond cake slice ($6) but to go. The almond cake is a light and tasty cake with sliced/shaved almonds on top. SERVICE -- Friendly. Me and one of the shorter female employee had a nice laugh when I went down later in the day to order an almond cake. They started getting busy when I arrived after 10am on a weekday but I was able to walk right up to the front counter to order. The buzzer handed to me buzzed probably within 15-20 mins and I went down to get my order. I believe the tea that I ordered was ready first. Overall, I'll definitely be back. Prices are higher than a traditional cafe. The plus is that there is free wifi so it's a perfect spot to work on your laptop. The tables are big and the chairs are comfortable. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 99/250 total reviews in 2026 - 940 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 27 May 2026
