I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here at Anthropologie with my stylist, Elle and this was probably my favorite shop for the following reasons: 1. Of all the bridal shops I had been to, I enjoyed the selection at Anthropologie the most. I got to try a variety of styles (beaded, lace, sparkles, simple, a-line, fitted, ballgown, etc.) and narrow down what I like, but I really did like a majority of the dresses I tried on here as opposed to the recommendations or selections I saw at other bridal shops. All of the dresses I tried here I rated 7-9/10 for my personal rating and they all fell within my budget (less than 2k). 2. I loved that I could see their inventory online and indicate ahead of time in the booking form which dresses I wanted to try. These dresses were already on my rack and prepared for me when I arrived. Other shops I had been to gave me time to peruse and look around at the beginning which was nice but it definitely ate into the appointment time. 3. The appointment was free and was 90 minutes long. Sometimes, I felt an hour was too short at other places but here I was able to try on all my pre-selected gowns, peruse the racks more, and try on an extra 4-5 gowns I either missed on the website or were new so weren't listed on the website yet. 4. I enjoyed my stylist's help so much. Elle was very helpful in getting the dresses on and off, clipping the sample down, taking pictures for me as I did not have anyone else with me at my appointment, and suggesting alteration points to make the dresses as close to what I wanted as possible. She was very professional and kind. 5. The availability of the dresses was also a big plus. It sounds like, as long as your size is in stock, it is as simple as ordering online and you can have it arrive within a couple of weeks. They mentioned some styles may be back ordered by a month or so but it's nice to hear that I won't have to wait the 6-8 month timeline for ordering a custom dress through a designer. The only downside I would say is parking. Because this is in the heart of downtown, parking will be difficult. I had a friend drop me off and pick me up for my appointment. Overall, really loved my experience here and would highly recommend stopping by if you like what you see on their website. read more

COVID review: I was able to come here by making an appointment weeks in advanced. I was only allowed to bring one guest with me as the BHLDN area is a small section of the Anthropologie store. I did bring one more guest but they had to stay in the Anthropologie section as a "shopper". It was still very easy for my second guest to be part of the experience as I had to walk across the store to the regular dressing rooms to try on my dress, since there was another bride trying on dresses in the actual bridal area. The person that helped me was Sophie and she was super helpful. This was my first place I went shopping for wedding dresses and she provided ample information on each dress I tried on. Since the workers cannot come into the dressing room with you, I had my mom help put the clips on my dress and Sophie was able to provide verbal directions that were helpful. Masks were worn by everyone the entire bridal appointment, but I felt that I was still able to envision the dress and I did try on a veil. For my second appointment I made here, I was able to re-try on the dress with a veil to figure out if I truly liked the dress. During this appointment, I went by myself and Sophie was still able to help me. When I needed help with clipping my dress and placing a veil on, she had a glass fixture on wheels that was used to create space between us. There is a hole in the glass where Sophie put her hands through with gloves to apply clips on my dress and a veil. Overall, I had a great experience at BHLDN and was able to find THE dress here. Their prices are super affordable for wedding dresses and felt of great quality. When you place an order with them, they waive shipping fees also. I'd recommend coming here for wedding dress shopping. read more

Like a number of other reviewers here, I had a pretty mediocre time at BHLDN. It wasn't a total loss...I brought a close friend/bridesmaid with me who kept the vibes up, and I did enjoy the selection of dresses. But the experience as a whole was a disappointment. The person assigned to help me try-on was cold, disengaged, and uninvolved. I tried on my first picks within about 30 minutes, and when I said I might go look at the rack again (because I still had half my time left!) she looked crestfallen. I'm glad that I had looked at the website in advance to pick my dresses, because the salesperson offered very few suggestions. Even my friend remarked that she was treating the whole appointment like it was a personal inconvenience. My gut is that Anthro is way underpaying these salespeople, and my guess is that if they were given commission they'd be more invested in customer experience. But I guess that's what I get for going big brand. By the end of the appointment, my friend was the one helping me in and out of garments, because our salesperson had given up completely. As other reviewers have noted, this is not a process that will make you feel special or "like a bride." We decided not to use the full hour; we felt like we'd worn out our welcome. Another important note, I had called ahead to ask if the person I'd be working with could please mask. Anthro's manager assured me that she would. For some reason they paired me with the one person in the whole store who wasn't wearing their mask correctly...which was bizarre, because every other staff member I came in contact with was masked fully and properly. It would have been nice if the person coming up close to button and zip me could have been wearing a mask over both nose and mouth. I was glad I wore my N95. The TL;DR is that I think (?) I found at least one dress option that I like...but the experience was less than ideal. Kind of a shame. read more

I made an appointment to try on a bridesmaid dress for an upcoming wedding. Colby helped me out and was so great, I was super happy with my experience! They stayed within my budget that I told them when pulling additional dresses. They were extremely honest and through when looking at back ordered dresses and ship times, to be sure I would have enough time to get it altered before the November wedding. The quality of the dresses there are fantastic and beautiful and have a great range of reasonably priced dresses. (spend the $50 more on a dress and avoid the cheap stuff at David's bridal) . Anyways definitely going to use their services for my bridesmaids and possibly my own wedding dress when the day comes. Also the store itself is gorgeous and inviting. read more

I loved e v e r y t h I n g with my experience at BHLDN (beholden). I'm not sure where to even begin with this review because I am so over the moon with this place. I'll fully admit I was a teensy bit nervous but mostly excited, about trying on dresses. From the beginning I was greeted warmly, met my stylist, and the whole 60min appointment went from there. I went into this experience fully knowing what I wanted and that helped tremendously with the selection process. You are limited to a time frame and please note you must make an appointment in advance. This all can done online and it's pretty straight forward. I'm looking forward to booking my second appointment and making my final selection, fingers crossed! Til then, I'll be sure to give a review update. My Bhldn experience was amazing! I went in today with a couple of family members and my stylist was Ella. She was incredible! She listened to my ideas and had good instincts about subtly checking in with me for my final say since my family had many opinions. Haha. She was patient and made me feel very comfortable during the entire experience. Underwhelming - limited wedding gown selection, mediocre quality and cold service. Was painless booking my appointment online but struggled to find even 5 wedding dresses that appealed to me after browsing their entire wedding selection, minus ballgowns. Needless to say, appointment was least promising of my bridal appointments - certain wedding dresses chosen for me didn't match my style. For the prices, wedding dress quality seemed surprisingly cheap. Sales associate felt cold and disinterested during my appointment, more like I was buying an everyday handbag than a wedding gown. The store is beautiful - spacious and well-merchandised but the wedding gowns, prices and service are sadly not. read more

I'm giving two stars because 1) I got to try on quite a few dresses and 2) I found "THE DRESS" and said yes at this BHLDN location! Sadly, the experience didn't feel like a bridal appointment at all. My stylist barely said two words to me the whole appointment. She didn't try to get to know me, she didn't help "fluff" the dresses or assist with my train, veil, etc. it literally felt like I could have walked in without an appointment and done the exact same thing alone. I didn't feel special/like a glowing bride, like I did at other appointments with other stylists. I did end up finding the perfect gown for my day, though, and luckily I had my mom with me to help with everything the stylist was lacking. read more

Gracie helped me with my wedding dress appointment and she was very easy to talk to. She was also very knowledgeable, and she chose dresses strategically so I could find my favorite styles more efficiently! I tried many dresses within my appointment, and she kept me on pace without making me feel rushed. I really appreciated her and ended up loving TWO dresses! Another reviewer mentioned cramped dressing rooms, but I felt there was plenty of space even when trying on the big ball gowns. I wish they had more size 4 dresses, because all but one of the dresses I tried were size 12. Other than that, I had a great appointment. read more

Dreamy wedding, dreamy wedding gown shop! I love the beautiful, more modern dresses, with a wide selection, street clothing sizes (2,4,6,etc.) They have also have a variety of jewelry like earrings, crowns and belts to accessorize the gown. What I love and appreciate the most is their customer service! 10/10 caring people! I went in for my initial dress fitting and wanted one if their gowns however with the timing of my wedding and alterations it wouldn't work out so I settled on buying a dress from Nordstrom. Long story short two weeks later I left Nordstrom crying (it'll be in my very upsetting Nordstrom review) and decided to buy a backup cocktail white dress. As I browsed around Sarah asked if I needed help. I told her about the Nordstrom snafu and she said they could have me do a walk in wedding appointment! Not only that, I was helped by the most wonderful Cole! Patient, no pressure, and kind! I tried on dresses I didn't try the first time and found the gown of my dreams! Yay! Now I can cry tears if happiness! They were able to rush the shipment too! Once I received my dress a few days later returned to get earrings and thank them for being wonderful! I'd recommend having alterations with Svletlana at American Freestyle Alterations. She's number 1 on their alterations list. I found my dress! I went to the bhldn in Portland, in November, found a dress but then it sold out. I decided to try again and go for a completely different style. I am so glad I did! I had Cole as my stylist which was different but he was very respectful. I would change into the dress, knock and then he would come in and clip me into the dress. He was very worried about the timing of the appointment but we managed to try on everything I wanted. I am so happy with the dress I got. It will need some alterations, which they do not do in house, but I am petite so that is not a surprise. I can't wait for June! read more

I really wanted to be a bhldn bride. Ultimately, I decided that for my curvy frame, a more traditional wedding dress was a better fit. They have a wide range of beautiful dresses in a wide range of pricing. Maria was so sweet and had a great memory for my preferences throughout my two appointments. If you're on a short time frame they are great too, since the dresses are delivered to you in 7-10 days (vs 6 months or so with a traditional dress) so the lead time is much shorter. The sales people do not not work on commission-- which is also nice. read more

Pros: Dresses are beautiful and plenty of selection. Cons: Customer service. Based on my experience, I am assuming consultants do not earn commission. I went with my bridal party to find bridesmaid dresses to the Seattle store. Our consultant (I forget her name and am questioning if it was ever said), was present at the beginning of the appointment and left us alone for the majority of the appointment, maybe checked in once--another time I had to find her to ask a question--until the end when she let us know our time was up and she had another appointment soon. This is fine, I understand how appointments work, but she didn't even try to help us make a purchase. All three of my bridesmaids were wanting to purchase dresses--which in total would have costed over $1000--and there was absolute follow through even though we made it clear we wanted to order. She said we could purchase and get a quick size fitting, but there was no follow through. One of the dresses was sold out in a particular size and there was really no help with offering a solution or a pre-order, as they were unsure if it would ever be back in stock. We felt as if we were being pushed out of the store even though we were trying to make a decent order. The appointment that followed seemed to be for a single high school student, who I imagine would be purchasing one dress...not a problem, just a missed opportunity to make a larger sale. We ended up finding the same dresses (in stock) at Nordstrom and made our purchase there instead. read more

Outstanding customer service and incredibly courteous. A staff person named Abigail returned my call and worked with me with laser focus and tremendous efficiency and skillful professionalism. The results were outstanding: I was able to deliver a dress to my only niece in no time flat - a dress that was sold out online, and sold out in Chiago stores...but just one, the right one, happen to be returned to the store the evening I called: how lucky can an aunt get? SO LUCKY: and this store helped create that luck. I was done with the ordering and saving my niece's day in under 20 minutes bc of the efficiency and excellent customer service provided by Abigail. Turns out that she was a manager -- and no wonder. I cannot recommend this store highly enough for their capacity to get the job done and remarkable staff. read more

I brought two guests along with me and her calm and friendly demeanor made us feel very comfortable throughout the appointment. At no point did I feel rushed or pressured to make a decision. Absolutley wonderful! I visited BHLDN with an appointment in October to look at a few dresses for my wedding in August. The consultant was awaiting my arrival and had already pulled all of the dresses I was interested in. Once we hit the fitting room, she was very helpful getting me into the dresses and made me feel comfortable (which is not always the case). When I stepped out to show my bridesmaids each dress, she offered great feedback about fit, appropriate accessories and potentially better options for my budget and wishes. I knew BHLDN had gorgeous dresses, but I was didn't expect to find the dress of my dreams in that appointment. Of course the dresses all looked gorgeous online with models showing them off, but I was concerned they wouldn't flow right with my size 10 frame. Lucky for me each and every dress I tried was flattering, and well made. By the end of my appointment I found exactly what I was looking for, a classy lace dress with a subtle mermaid fit. And I was even more dumbfounded that the dress was $600! I am a dealhunter and I was almost jumping for joy at how affordable the dress was. Once I made up my mind, I let the saleswoman know that I would come back another day to show my Mom and get her thoughts. She told me that there was only one dress in my size left in the nation and advised that I order it at that time, and use the 30 day free return policy to think about it. Without question, I ordered the dress. My bridesmaids and I were then shocked when the saleswoman offered us glasses of champagne to celebrate my purchase! When the dress arrived at my house, I showed my Mom and she was in awe. I couldn't be happier with my dress and I can't wait to wear it in August! Fast forward to TODAY, I called to ask whether my mom would need an appointment to try on Mother of the Bride dresses. The customer service representative was very professional and let me know that we could come by anytime. I then asked if she could check if they had a few dresses in stock (that I knew my mom was partial to). She wrote down all 6 of the dress names and my Mom's size. She then took down my name and phone number and let me know that she would call me back with some information about what they had in stock. With closing less than 30 minutes away at that point, I was sure I wouldn't get a call until tomorrow but she called me back 5 minutes later with the availability of every dress! Needless to say I LOVE BHLDN. Their dresses are unique and stunning, and their customer service - both in person and over the phone - is second to none. Don't bother with David's Bridal, ladies! Gracie is a doll! I came to this location after an awkward uncomfortable experience down at the Portland store. I fell absolutely in love with a dress at the Portland location but my sales person was dismissive and pushy and I couldnt picture buying my wedding dress from her given the icky feeling she gave me. I work in bellevue and figured I would give this location a try since I couldnt get this dress out of my head. Gracie was a life saver. I was a walk in but they made time for me to try the dress on 1 more time before I committed. They even let me play around with toppers. The experience was fun and Gracie was so sweet and helpful and HONEST! She listened to all of my concerns and she and the manager were reassuring and kind and super knowledgeable. The best part is they let me pay with 3 forms of payment!! A gift card, my charge card , and my grandmas charge card! Grandma wanted to buy the dress so badly but I wanted put $ towards it to bring the price down. Gracie said "no problem!" And got it done in one quick painless process. All the sales people were friendly here!! I am a happy bride to be and can not WAIT to get my dress!! read more

I visited here a few months ago to shop for wedding dresses. It's a very odd layout, being just a corner of a retail clothing store that really wasn't separated from the rest of the store. It took a while for any associate to acknowledge us, and once they did they disappeared for several more minutes before confirming we'd been checked in with our stylist. My actual stylist was very nice, but she had to inform us that the appointment in front of mine was going long but she'd do her best to give me additional time at the end of mine to make up for it. She ended up having to "shoo" out an entire group of people from both the dressing room and couch area when they still hadn't left when she brought me back 15 minutes after my appointment start time. The entire appointment felt rushed between starting late, my stylist having to clean up a mess from the previous party and trying to hunt down stock. In all I was only able to try on 4 dresses. The stylist and I were crammed into a tiny dressing room as we shuffled around poofy skirts. Again, my stylist was a sweetheart, but her charming personality just didn't make up for the chaotic environment she was working in. Out of the 10 wedding salons I've visited, this one was #8. I will say their 30-day return policy is unmatched in the bridal world, so if you're an indecisive bride you should still give this place (or at least their website) a shot. read more

I have received better customer service through cheap stores like forever 21 than here at bhldn. I bought an expensive dress and paid $30 to have it expedited. When I received it, it was not what I had thought it would look like, so I sent it back. I also made sure to get a tracking receipt , when I received word that the dress was delivered to them it was only about 4 days after I sent it out, I waited and kept emailing bhldn for any kind of word of my return processing from them and received nothing. I sent 3 emails regarding my experience and called customer service, they avoided the part where I told them my emails were being ignored and every time I called they would tell me my package was "in transit" which I knew it was a lie because I had received an email saying it was delivered weeks ago. One of the customer service agents accidentally let it slip that they were behind in returns over the call. I do not think it was necessary to be lied to , telling me the package was in transit when it had been delivered weeks before that. And when they finally replied to my weeks of emails this is the response I received (uploading a photo to reviews) Bhldn has terrible customer service, or maybe it's because I returned their item and they found it no longer necessary to treat me as a valued customer who may have been returning to the store in the future. read more

My mom and I were really disappointed with our experience here. We visited the BHLDN in Seattle hoping to find a dress for my wedding but the whole experience felt like we were being rushed along and the associate was a little cold and uncommunicative. She also seemed far more interested in a larger bridal group that was there at the same time - it was only me and my mom at my appointment and it felt like that impacted the quality of service we received. The dresses were pretty, although my mom wasn't impressed with the quality for the price (she works in textiles). I did find one that I liked at BHLDN but ended up finding an even better dress with better customer service at another bridal salon. read more

Everything about this place was so deeply disappointing. Rushed, cold, uncommunicative, transactional customer service left me not wanting to get a dress at all even though I found the one I loved. Selection was poor, I barely found 4 dresses I liked. They were very weirdly particular about random details that turned me off, and the rigidity and rudeness from my stylist and the others around was so not wedding dress magical moment like all the other shops I'd been to. This is clearly not a designer shop with professionals, just keep this in mind. And if you do look here, be sure to be assertive, confident, and take no crap :) read more

Stylist was Emma. Loved her! I was able to snag a last-minute appointment this morning. It was my first time trying on wedding dresses, and I was really anxious about it. Emma helped me pick out a couple of dresses to start, and humored my awkward story-telling while clipping me in. Her ability to make the sample dress fit me while maintaining the integrity of the shape/features of the dress was incredible - and it only ever took one placement of the clip! She then asked me what my normal attire was, and she found a couple more dresses for me to try. One, I wasn't sure about -- a sweet-heart neckline + spaghetti straps. I tried it on, thought I hated it, and she put a lace topper on and *boom* it was a totally different dress. I loved it! But then the next dress I tried on was SO ME, but I wouldn't have pulled it off the rack on my own. I bought it and am so excited for it to come in the next week or so! read more

I ended up finding my gown here at BHLDN. It was my last stop on a day long trip of wedding dress shopping. Saturday's are busy, you will be on a time crunch just FYI. People have appointments all day. The selection at Bhldn is nice because you can really find something for every bride and the price is awesome. I had an idea in my head what I wanted to replicate from my first stop at Lovely Bride in greenlake. The price tag was out of budget but I was hopeful I could find a cheaper version at Bhldn. I ended up finding a gown that I could customize to be what I was envisioning and over a grand less than what the other gown was. Just recently got engaged in November and have been looking into dresses. BHLDN has been the location I have been looking forward to even before I got engaged! But from my experience, I'm not too fond of it and will probably not buy my dress here. This location was my second consultation. I went to David's Bridal and they were phenomenal even though the quality of dresses aren't too great. I work over in Issaquah and rushed over after but unfortunately due to unusual high amount of traffic and no parking, I was about 5 minutes late which I didn't think it was too bad. I come in, I was introduced to my consultant Alisha. My bridesmaids were also just about to walk in and she got me into trying my first dress. She didn't explain to me the process, just grabbed a dress and told me to start undressing. I was a bit uncomfortable when she didn't even allow any privacy. But thankfully I'm not too shy. I don't know if it was because I was late or something but it just seemed like she wasn't interested or annoyed and it was very awkward/silent in between changing. I didn't feel special which made me less interested in any of the dresses. She wasn't interactive at all and just stood there which made it difficult to talk about the whole experience with my bridesmaids just because I felt judged. It was extremely rushed and we were literally just in and out. Don't get me wrong, she was very friendly but the service can improve. I regret to say but I would rather go back to David's Bridal and purchase a dress from them just because they provided me with such a joyful first experience than here. read more

I traveled from Sacramento to Seattle for my first appointment to look for the dress of my dreams. I was so nervous when I got there, but the staff made me very comfortable very quickly and assured me it would be a blast. Boy, were they right! Katie was the most helpful person I could have ever asked for. Within minutes of meeting, I felt like I had known her for years. She had taken the time to visit my pinterest wedding pages to see what kind of dresses I was looking for. She had me try on the dress she thought I'd like best, first. I completely fell in love. I have never felt more beautiful than I did in that dress. It was such a special moment. Having Katie there to help me through the decision process was amazing. She helped me into several more dresses, even though we both knew the first one was it. After we tried on the remaining dresses, we went back to the first one again. She took so many extra steps to make sure I was getting the full vision -- she put an adorable headband on me, and pinned my hair back, she really let me experience what I was going to look like on my wedding day. After so many tears of joy and lots of hugs, I decided on the very first dress I tried on. I owe Katie so many thanks. Her kind words, patience, and extreme professionalism made my experience so amazing. It was like having my best friend there to guide me through the process at every step. We went to BHLDN to find a gown for a friend and they have beautiful dresses for many different types of weddings. There were options for slender brides and not so slender brides. They had full length gowns, short dresses, and 2 piece gowns that you could mix-and-match to customize your desired look. They have a good selection for the amount space. They had a small variety of jewelry as well different metal colors like silver, gold and rose gold, as well as some dainty pieces and bold pieces. They have a great selection of bridesmaid dresses that range from simple and clean to heavily beaded, and could be mixed and matched together. The girl who worked with us at the appointment was really kind and helpful. She pulled gowns that the bride wanted before she came into the store, and some additional dresses that fit her vision well for her. The gowns were very well priced at $1800 or less. We did not ultimately find the dress here, but the consultants did a great job. The one downside is that if you like a dress, it typically only comes in the sample color, but that is to be expected when you're visiting a retail type bridal store. read more

I had an amazing experience with Colby and I cannot recommend him enough. I scheduled my first wedding dress appointment at BHLDN. I had no idea what to expect coming in but Colby was so helpful and he made the whole experience so fun. He understood exactly what I was going for and gave insightful feedback based on my styles, what would go well with my venue/overall theme, etc. I tried several other places after my initial appointment but never experienced a similar experience. I was extremely disappointed with my visit to BHLDN this past weekend. This was the one of the shops I tried dresses on, and the difference was obvious between the actual bridal boutiques and this place. My 3 friends and I arrived about 5 minutes early and looked for an associate to let them know we were there. The person we spoke to was apparently the manager and told us to sit at a section and they would come over and meet with us in a moment. About 10 minutes later and still no one had come to check on us, so we went to talk to the manager again and again, she dismissed us and told us to have a seat. Finally, she comes over and tells us they will be moving us downstairs since this was a "bridesmaid fitting" and those are done in the Anthropologie fitting rooms -except this was for my bridal gown, and we had already confirmed twice by email, once over the phone, and once in person when we arrived. They basically blamed it on us and told us that we scheduled the appointment wrong (even though we scheduled over the phone with an associate) but that they would accommodate us in the back corner. We already felt so turned off by the experience, but I decided to try on a couple dresses since we were already there. Thankfully, my stylist was super sweet and was attentive to what I liked and didn't like. While I was in the dressing room, one of my friends asked if we could be moved to the main section since it was empty and they didn't want me to keep walking across the store in these gowns. The manager was pretty harsh and told her that there was no way they could move us. Overall, I would not recommend visiting BHLDN. Pros: Their prices are lower than the other bridal stores we visited, but honestly not that much lower. Cons: The experience I had at other bridal stores was SIGNIFICANTLY better. If you're looking for quality bridal experience, go elsewhere. -There wasn't much diversity in the style of their gowns. -There isn't much privacy, especially if they throw you in the corner. The customers walking around could stop and stare at me, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. -They seem disorganized. -The staff was a bit snobby. read more
