The White Spot is a UVA staple. It's great to grab some quick food and it feels like their kitchen is always open! It's super popular for their late night snacks and you will probably catch tons of kids enjoying their Gus Burgers and cheesy fries and onion rings around 3am on any weekend. The hectic vibes are where it's at. Also they have some fun merch that every UVA fan should grab before heading out of town. My parents even started coming here regularly. I've only ever enjoyed these delicacies in the late hours of the evening, so who knows how accurate my rating of the food would be. However, the vibes are 10/10

Come for the Gus Burger Great, late-night college food. The Gus Burger is really what it's known for. The egg on a burger is available pretty much everywhere at this point, but I remember hearing that this was one of the first places to do it! Worth a stop late at night.

Cool spot. Close to the hospital, which was why we were here. Good greasy cheeseburger and fries. Nothing fancy, but it really has an old time, been around forever kinda of feel. We came for a late lunch in a weekday, and were the only ones in the place. So it was quiet and noT crowded.

Double Gus Burger w cheese. Eggs soft and everything on it.

Somehow it all works out perfectly. The griddle burger, the runny eggs, cheese sliding off and the habanero sauce on the side. I just love it and have for 30 years.

I had my first GB during my first trip to Charlottesville when I attended a wedding near UVA. Going in the afternoon I avoided the mad crowd of college kids at midnight. That would've been fun but I enjoyed my GB in silence at noon.

This iconic burger joint on the UVA campus is a must for hamburger fans. It has been around for decades and is thriving to this day. Be advised, this is a burger place in the style of fast food (not gourmet) burgers but with oh so much more character. We were in town visiting a relative in the hospital and needed a quick but fulfilling lunch. My 80-year-old uncle recommended this place because he remembered it from his college days! You can either order and sit at a soda-fountain style bar or sit down and they will take your order table-side. I had the Gus Burger special all the way, which was a cheeseburger with a fried egg on top, fries and a fountain drink. Although they don't have beer they do have SWEET TEA. Love that. Other pleasant surprises: the food came unbelievably fast and the French fries were excellent. The burger was great. I look forward to trying some of their other intriguing menus items. It looks like a great place for breakfast too.

I was in Charlottesville for the day, and this place served up a quality burger. Can't wait to go back for lunch!

Really like the sandwiches. Breakfast is good too. Really can't go wrong here, unless you're really picky.

I'm mentioning this because the amount of breakfast places with shit coffee is wild. So not only good food, but excellent coffee. Brioche French toast bananas foster - the bananas foster syrup was the bomb. Nutella and Strawberry Crepes - they were huge and so good! Chicken and Waffles- fried crispy bone in chicken is yue only way to go. My teen son eat every crumb. Avocado Toast with egg and smoked salmon - my husband loved it. Avocado Egg Bake - cooked perfectly and so good. Buttermilk pancakes for fluffy and great flavor. They offer real maple syrup, bananas foster syrup if you're fancy and then regular (fake) syrup.

Make a reservation, but there's also a little grab and go spot right when you walk in. Breakfast cocktails were yummy! I didn't feel guilty having a chocolate espresso martini for breakfast:) Bananas Foster Beignets was ridiculous! Benedict options were so unique. I recommend asking questions to make sure you're getting what you want. Hindsight I would have added protein to the green tomato Benedict. We also got a bowl that was much more like a salad and not like a hearty bowl. All were delicious, just not what was expected. We would return for sure!

The bar, front desk, valet and pool just steps away. The staff were like family and accommodations very comfortable. Many thanks to Antonio at the desk/valet, Tyler the bar manager and Tyler Cupec Director of Rooms for making it a trip worthy of a not only a 5 star review but also a future return as well.

Squeaky clean hardwood floors all over. Tasteful old furniture. Every staff member I spoke to was polite, courteous, and happy to help. The self serve stations for hot coffee, tea, and cold water was a convenient resource outside of the door. This inn appears to be made of several former homes that were turned into a campus of buildings making the Oakhurst Inn. It's not a single building. The small lawn in the center of the complex has benches, hammock, and a fireplace that seems welcoming and nice, but I wasn't aware of them until I left. There were a few problems during my stay. The inn requires guests to use valet parking which is $40 per night, not disclosed before my stay, and often required a long wait for the valet to return. This makes it hard to retrieve anything you need from your car. The front desk staff are often missing from the front desk - I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to come back and check me in on arrival. Likewise, the bartender is often away from station and you might wait 10 or 30 minutes for the bartender to return. There is no mini fridge or microwave in the hotel rooms. The pool area was extremely dark at night, making it tricky or dangerous to navigate. The pool water was lukewarm, not warm at all. The sauna was out of order and the doorway was small and obscured by chairs. Not accessible and difficult to find. This inn has no gym. The lobby is very small and has no seating for guests or places to hang their luggage, although the nearby lounge has a few leather couches and a fireplace that doesn't appear to be working. Not the most welcoming or convenient. Overall I don't think it's worth the hefty price tag and would stay elsewhere when I return to Charlottesville.
