I was skeptical as I usually don't NOT have meat with a meal, but this was so good & so filling. This bowl felt like I was holding a baby, it was so heavy. You get a lot of food for such an amazing price... and it's good! I wish I had gotten the sauce (a friend took my sauce because they're rude) but I hope to try it next time. Fantastic lunch spot that I'd recommend to everyone, vegan, veggie, omnivore, eat here! read more

Went here for lunch and it was quick easy fulfilling in the right portion. I understand the concept of the whole bowl just curious why they don't have like a protein that you can add on there? I definitely feel like this will be my new favorite spot as I live on the coast and I travel for work in that area. The service was great too quick and efficient. read more

The Whole Bowl is my standard lunch option for days I don't bring one. It's good value, I never get tired of it, it's healthy, and convenient. I get a Big Bowl, with hot sauce and the Thai Sweet and Sour sauce, which is a great mix of heat and sweet but spicy. Definitely a comfort food place, and when I'm out of town it's one of the restaurants I miss the most. read more

Loved the caption- it's like tasting a hug . First I thought the quantity was less but once I had it, I am so full! The coriander, avocado and the cream combination tasted so yum!! The tali sauce has an interesting taste! Overall the whole experience was good! The only thing I felt was the menu was pretty limited! Would have been great if there were more options to choose from! Quick & delicious! So glad this place has come to Beaverton. It is located right next to Big's! There's no seating, just an order window. You don't need to spend much energy thinking about what you want to order here as there is only one choice! I usual get a big bowl but today for kicks, I tried the bambino size and I feel satisfied. I order without beans & sour cream and I'm never given attitude about it. Some places do! Not here, they usually ask me if I want extra rice instead. Why yes, that's ok? Encouraged even. Indecisive? No worries, here because one thing on the menu that is customizable and delicious! Order at the window and get a meal that is healthy and hearty. Add chips if you want and a variety of hot sauces too. With non-plastic lids, bowls, and silverware this window is the way. The service is fast and efficient. Friendly too For first timers, there is a small sample that you can try and dog treats available for the furry friends! Although it was raining when I went, there was a few customers before me and after me. A quick snack or entree that keeps you full. the whole bowl was gone if thats what they meant by their name... haha love this place! its like cafe yum but slightly better (price wise, portion wise, and quality wise) im a big fan of the tali sauce, and they do really well with customization and different requests. id say its more worth it to get the big bowl rather than the original bambino size since the price difference isnt that much and you can always keep any leftovers! its honestly a really good healthy alternative, and the flavors really hit the spot. im so glad they have a beaverton location and hope they keep on expanding! read more

I wasn't even in the mood for vegetarian food. It was lunchtime, it was open and looked fast. I got the big bowl... and didn't eat for the rest of the day. I didn't feel uncomfortably full, I just wasn't hungry until the next day. Really satisfying and so simple. Didn't even notice it was vegetarian once I started eating. I love the sauce. The salsa was medium for me (I can't handle spicy food). It's a walk up window. There was an outdoor area with seating that all the restaurants shared. The containers are compostable. I like that they ask you if you want utensils; which cuts down on waste if you're eating at home. This is the perfect fast food for me. I wish more places would open like this. read more

Downtown Beaverton on Watson , storefront operation with street seating . Absolutely awesome! Vegetarian , but you won't care! Service is quick and food dynamite . While I was waiting , 5 more people cane for same place . Two sizes of bowls, definitely get the large one . You won't finish , but you got some to go. Found my new go to place. Tried to go to Ex Novo for pizza but due to limited seating they were booked the whole day. Glad though because I walked across street and finally got to try this place out. Kind of like that there's only 1 option. I'm not a picky eater so went with a large with everything. So delicious. No meat options but I'm fine with that and didn't miss it. I can tell this is something I'll be eating all summer. And for $7 it's hard to beat. read more

Delicious! I've been to one of the downtown locations and was excited to try this new location closer to home. We had a short wait with a few people ahead of my group, but the line moved quickly. The employee working was friendly. We were in and out real quick as it's a walk-up window. Prices are reasonable. The employee working asked if we wanted everything on the bowl and I asked for no olives and I got it as asked. My group and I went back to the car and enjoyed our food out of the rain during a typical wet day. I will definitely be back. read more

This place is so good! It's kind of hidden but 100% worth the visit, the the effort of finding parking in downtown Beaverton . I would even go to say this place is better than Yum bowl. Their hours are a lot more flexible apparently. Tried calling at 5 to confirm they are open until 5:30. Got here at 5:20 and a guy is still inside but apparently decided to close early. Super disappointed. read more

I don't know about the hype. 4.5 stars got me excited to try this but I'm sadly disappointed. This was just eh nothing exciting and I have had way better sauces. I usually only leave stars when they are 1s or 5s but I couldn't let this one go by even though I feel bad bc it's just one guy in a tiny room so I don't k ow if it's one small business owner - but with just one option I would expect it to be PHENOMENAL and it wasn't close at all. I'm not even sure it was three stars sorry. Maybe it's just not my thing - except I eat things like this all the time. Anyway I'll end it here in just saying it could be and should be much better. read more

Soooo good! Great prices. Bowls were perfect portion, full of delicious flavors, and healthy. Reminded us a bit of the bowls you can get at Cafe Yum. We didn't realize until we arrived, that it's just a window your order at. But that was ok, because just a few feet away is a really cool outdoor courtyard with plenty of seating where we enjoyed the sunny cool afternoon. read more

This place is similar to cafe yumm but cheaper! Almost same ingredients but no meat proteins as options. Their sauce is also different but I like it a lot more compared to cafe yumm! It was mostly beans in my bowl so that's why I docked a star but maybe it was just the person who made it! It's also verrry fast! It's made in less than a minute! If you love cafe yumm give this place a try! :) read more

I'm not vegan or even vegetarian but I eat here regularly for lunch. Something super satisfying about the whole bowl...the Tali sauce is so good and everything just works in harmony. Best part of it is that it is filling and I always feel great after eating it. Reasonably priced and quick. Delicious! read more

It seemed as if they were pre frozen and lacked flavor and filling. We were so surprised at the quality and price. I also had the shnitzel and it had no seasoning and was so bland. With a sad excuse for chimichurri. That seemed haphazardly put together, again lacking any flavor. Was it an off day based on the amount of people raving? Maybe. But also maybe they aren't aware of the better options in Portland so lack the awareness of true potential in this cuisine. I recommend Lechón if you want real chimichurri and empanadas.

The bulgogi was good too but very basic. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

We went with Karam because the reviews were descent and it was close to the house where we were hosting the party. We placed our order 3 weeks before the party, which is plenty of time for them to plan ahead. We ordered 2 orders of chicken shwarma and 2 orders of lamb shwarma. Each order feeds 10, so there should've been enough meat for 40 people. We were shocked when we picked up our order and there was very little meat. When we put it in a chaffing dish there was barely enough to cover the bottom, in one very sparse layer. It was definitely NOT enough for 40 people. This was right before the party, so there wasn't a whole lot we could do. The show went on and it was a really good thing we had a lot of salad (made by us) and we also ordered 3 orders of falafel. We called Karam the day after the party to let them know what happened. There was a lot of back and forth but they eventually promised to issue a refund to the credit card the order was purchased with. That never happened. We continued to follow up, but there was generally always a promise of issuing a refund that didn't come through. Finally we went in. A worker actually admitted that they ran out of food that day and just gave us what was left. After that the owner called us and promised a refund as well as a gift card for the couple who the party was for, which he did come through on. From the first time we called to the time the refund/gift card was issued, it was about 6 weeks. Long story short, go there for lunch, but don't use them for catering. I would never want to be responsible for tanking someone's business, especially when the owner did reach out and finally refund some of our money. But, it took way longer than it should've. Also, it never should've happened in the first place. They should've planned ahead for our catering order and whatever walk in business they had that day. If they were running short on food, they should've prioritized the catering order and told people coming in for lunch they were out of chicken and lamb shwarma due to a large catering order. Instead they shorted us, hoping we wouldn't say anything. It put a huge damper on the party that we basically didn't have enough food. You can't go back and redo it. So, for that reason, although I appreciate the owner trying to make it right (reason for 2 stars instead of 1), I feel morally compelled to warn people about using Karam for catering.

Monkey's has apparently been around a while and does enough of the basic things right that a friend thought it would be a good idea if I went over and gave it a shot. Since my family moved out here from back east, and I followed a few years later, I've been horrified by what passes as a sub in Oregon and infuriated by the places that put out Italian flag colors, say they have "Italian" subs, then hand you something on leftover pizza crust with unshredded lettuce, mayo, mustard, and turkey that you aren't supposed to question or curse at them about (you know who you are). Monkey's faceplants into this trap by saying they do things "old school." As I've learned out here, if something dates back to the '90s and was here when the mall was an airport and the current staff's homes were farmland, it's "old school." In Monkey's case, "old school" dates ALL THE WAY back to 2000 and, for some reason, involves adding mayo and mustard to subs when oil and vinegar already exists on them. Hey buddy, let me clue you in since nobody's been kind enough to tell you for 26 years: The oil and vinegar are already doing the job that you think the mayo's doing. If Jessup McOveralls comes in and tells you your really decent sub rolls are "too dry" without mayo, it means you aren't adding enough oil and vinegar to the equation. Those condiments should not only serve as dressing for the (shredded) lettuce and (sliced) onions and tomatoes, but should soften up the bread a bit and enhance the flavor of the entire sandwich--especially when blessed with a bit of oregano. Monkeys not only blows through that fairly basic recipe, but commits sacrilege aginst its ham, cotto, and provolone by burdening them with mortadella (Italy's answer to bologna) and CHEDDAR cheese. What, did this "Italian" sub make a side trip to Dublin or Wisconsin? Who the hell puts cheddar on an Italian sub and deems that an appropriate use of everyone's time? And because it's Lesser Beaverton (Aloha), there just has to be a version of this "Italian" sandwich that throws turkey and roast beef into the equation. At least we found some use for that mayo/mustard combo. The "old school" subs dispense with the cheese and slather the mayo and mustard on some combination of ham, salami, and pepperoni. Beyond that, the menu is replete with bacon, turkey, tuna, roast beef, french dip and a bunch of other nods to some of the worst sandwich chains this nation has shoved toward Middle America. I give the place two extra stars for the bread and the staff who was pleasant enough (even if they blew through my "no mayo or mustard" request), but Monkey's can leave the "East Coast touch" out of its motto. These are West Coast subs that went though a Midwest wringer, and whoever is comparing them to Jersey Mike's needs to realize that Covid likely knocked out whatever sense of taste or texture they once had.
