I have visited a few times for coffee and once for lunch of a turkey sandwich and bean soup, enjoyed it every time.

A nice place for good American fare and a drink or two. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, plenty of parking, and tasty food.

This place has been going downhill fast. We've been regulars for roughly a year and at this point we won't be coming back. My son ordered clam chowder and it tasted like it was spoiled, which thankfully they took it off our bill. We ordered food we never got. Their beer cheese for their soft pretzel was like water. Worst of all tonight was the service, nobody regularly checked in to make sure we didn't need anything... but when we were honest about how gross the chowder was, we we got a look from the waitress like we were the ones that were in the wrong! Which then called the manager out, who after a year of coming to the same place, I've never seen. She questioned us, and after saying our dinner was fine to avoid confrontation, (the chowder had already been compensated) she continued to pry it out of us since she clearly knew we were unhappy and needed the confrontation. Which then she took our card and had us pay... full price, minus spoiled chowder. Not sure what the point was for her even showing her face, to make us repeat ourselves for the third time? Looks like lots of staff changes lately. Food is getting gross. It's a bummer because we used to like this place. UPDATE: It wasn't the manager that confronted us, it was the owner herself! Makes the experience that much worse knowing that the owner herself not only knew what was happening, but clearly supported it 100%. Very unfortunate. read more

Overall the food was good. We ordered calamari for an appetizer. It wasn't quite deep fried long enough to be totally cooked but was good. We both ordered the Wild Hare burger rare. They were medium-rare when we got them. Customer service was friendly, efficient and quality. The burgers were good though and overall I'd say these guys are a good place to go regularly for a quick night out with your honey if you live locally. read more

Been here a few times when visiting the Canby/Aurora area for Gardenpalooza and other events. The service is always very family friendly, as we're usually dragging my friends toddler and now our new baby. The food is good and always large portioned. Great variety! Good beer selection too. They have good indoor and outdoor seating options. Outdoors you can fit larger groups, although it feels like groups of 6 is where the indoors maxes out. read more

Tried it for the first time. It was not crowded. They have a good menu with a lot of choices and great that the happy hour menu is available every day. The house margarita was average, but not great. The food was good - generous portions, had a chicken wrap, burger and tots. The service however was really poor. When the drinks arrived, we ordered an appetizer and it never came. Server later said she forgot. Ordered a beer when the food arrived and it came 20 minutes later, as I was almost finished eating. Last month (June 2021) I bought eight $20 tickets to see the Eagle Eyes band in September. However, I just found out that the Wild Hare Saloon - WHS -in Canby, OR) is not allowing low beach chairs, or blankets! My friends and I are all over 60 and have back issues. If we knew these were the seating arrangements, we would NOT have bought tickets due to the lack of comfort (no back support), and the creation of a Covid super-spreader event (they've sold 400 tickets)! When I called the restaurant this morning I was told they will not give refunds in light of the situation, which is completely unacceptable. Please spread the word about this injustice, especially if you're going to the concert... :( read more

Truly impressive! We had our 6th grade girls soccer end of season party at The Wild Hare Saloon and it was incredible. Joan and her team made sure that our experience was easy, smooth and fun. Joan was very communicative and accommodating. When we arrived, they had the patio set up in the best way possible due to the rain and the heaters were already going (which was so very much appreciated coming from a cold and rainy game). It was 6pm on a Saturday, so already a busy time without adding a soccer team and their families to the mix, but our food and drinks came out promptly and everything was delicious! Round up to 3.5 stars and yes, there are cougars that can be found in Canby-even in a "family" type establishment. The family was brave enough to venture away from a chain restaurant and fast food when I told them about this place and the good reviews on Yelp. It took a bit of arm twisting, but thanks to the online menu and the fact that I am the newest member of the family, they agreed to try it out. Since we are a party of 8, I called ahead to make sure there would be room for us. I was assured there was and upon arriving we were seated at a table with benches that fit us all. I mention the benches part, because if anyone is with a large party and has a bad back, it might be hard to sit. The menu is decent, the service is great with all the waitresses working as a team. Everyone got various things from sandwiches (still confused how a turkey club on a croissant can be served on a glorified hamburger bun), steaks-skip the porterhouse, baked potatoes (called "loaded" but didn't have bacon or chives), wonderful homemade salad dressings, decent soup, etc. The husband and I split and for $1.50 fee, were each given either soup or salad and they portioned everything for us. They have a full bar and we had a fun time watching as people came in after us and headed directly to the bar. Lots of families and the consensus was decent and the family may come back. read more

The atmosphere is fun and lively - a great place to watch a game or have a beer with friends. That being said, the food was just okay - nothing incredibly special. If I had to guess I would bet the halibut and the burgers were frozen. It seemed like we waited a long time at the door to be seated even though there were plenty of empty tables at 4pm. So I have only been here late at night, and during happy hour. The drinks are stiff and made right. The happy hour food is great and cheap, I highly recommend the tacos at 5 for $4.95 they're awesome. Last night I came in and had a great bartender who told me about an awesome ginger beer they serve. Tonight I came in and had to explain the drink I had gotten. I came here with my Canby fam while visiting from the Bay area. Overall, its a great little hole. Live music, the potatoe skins were mediocre and the drinks were strong and cheap.... OH but the priceless part was when some random drunk chick tried to charge me from across the room because apparently she didn't like the fact that I was having fun with my family and friends.... I always enjoy coming to the Wild Hare when coming to Canby for business. I typically stop in while on the lunch hour so I never get a chance to order a cold one but the food never disappoints. I stopped in recently and they were extremely busy over the lunch hour. We waited by the door for about 5-10 minutes before someone acknowledged our group. We got seated soon after and although busy the waitresses worked hard to get us our drinks quickly and then take our order. I decided to order the buffalo chicken wrap. The sweet potato fries are my favorite. They have a sweet chili dipping sauce which is the perfect combo. The food was good but didn't blow me away. Only ever been here for lunch, once back in January and once this week. Wasn't really too impressed either time. The food was mostly forgettable from my previous visit, and this time around the only thing that I really did like was the cup of chili I got. The salad I ordered came out with no avocados, when asked, they did bring me some out. However, I didn't eat half of it bc of it was browning rather severely and just didn't taste very fresh. For a place that charges about $10 for all burgers and sandwiches and $16 for a taco plate, I'd expect better. read more

A friend gave us a great referral to The Wild Hare Saloon, so on Valentine's day we drove 1-1/2 over to Canby, Or. Sooo glad we did, what a nice place, casual atmosphere, a little western with a bit of home town mixed in, several TV's up and on so folks can keep track of the local news or sports. Could not ask for better or friendlier service, I think most of the staff walked by to check on our table, and welcomed us with a smile. As far as the food...well that was amazing, I had the house special an 8oz tenderloin topped with crap and bernese sauce, it was ordered and served a perfect med-well accompanied with a twice baked potato, steamed asparagus and texas toast..all were exquisitely prepared, seasoned. My husband ordered a 12oz Ribeye also served with the a twice baked potato, asparagus and toast, he thouroghtly enjoyed his nice juicy med steak. We decided to top of our wonderful meal with another house favorite, a warm sugar coated waffle topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup, this was a great way to finish our amassing meal. We came here with some local family and they highly recommended this place. We were not disappointed. This place is really good. We came in about 7pm on a Wednesday night and it was on the slower side so we got sat right away. Service was great despite the fact that they were training a newbie. Food was quick and delicious. I had the prime rib dip sandwich and wife had the straight up cheeseburger and both were great. The meat and Au Jus were perfectly salty and cooked and the bread was chewy. Still at 3-stars. Would be SO easy for them to reach 4 stars. Came in w brother for dinner. I asked how the Caesar dressing is. The response was "its Caesar dressing. Aren't they all the same?" Well, no. They aren't. I'm not a dressing snob, but would have liked a bit of opinion from someone who has dined outside of Canby. Well, the dressing was ok. Nothing special. I ordered grilled shrimp on the salad. No flavor. Could have been microwaved. My brother ordered the Fajita Wrap and enjoyed it. He likes anything he doesn't have to cook though. Haha. His tater tots (which I find are popular in Portland -I am from San Diego, where we don't see them as often) were pretty bland. Asking for hot sauce felt like asking for onions on watermelon. Seemed like they didn't know why i would mess w a tater. (They didn't even come w ketchup, although it was offered). I like this place, just don't love it. Food is decent and prices are reasonable. An IPA in many San Diego bars is $6-7. Only $4.50 here. I give them an extra star just for that. Staff is friendly, perhaps could just use a bit more experience. I have visited The wild hare twice now for family events. Each time the servers had attitudes and were not knowledgable about drinks. They were very short with my friends, and getting them to return to check on us was a task. At one point we were even asked to leave with our kids an hour before the no minors time posted on the door. The food was decent at best, which is why they get two stars. The service at this place was just shockingly horrible. They were even given a second chance. read more

We've been in for breakfast and dinner, the food's been very good, the wait staff is attentive friendly and helpful, and the interior is very comfy and cool. Looking for food in an unfamiliar place and saw the yelp rating was high, so we gave it a try. I had the chicken enchiladas, other had the chicken sandwich. The sandwich was ok. The enchiladas were run of the mill. The waitstaff was friendly, but not that attentive. The prices were really good. If I was in the area I would try it again. read more
