This place is the second nice bar in Manchester (next to Strange Brew). Somewhat small bar, but fun crowd!

Love the rover!!! Food is good! And the people are awesome! It's a local watering hole. Nice patio outside. Always a good time !

Perhaps it was a mistake to not just get beer here. I ordered a gin and tonic and it was absurdly weak. Gin and tonic is not a complicated drink to make and they failed miserably at it. I probably won't go back there again. read more

Oh my, I spent many a night here when I lived in Manch - too bad I can't remember most of them. Great little Irish pub, probably the best one North of Boston. I used to know the bartenders by name, it was that kind of a place. Popular with the St. Anselm crowd, but it's not strictly a college bar. Good live music and reasonably priced drinks. Tight quarters - get there early on a weekend night if you want a seat or a table. read more

If I lived in Manchester, this is definitely a place I'd hang out. Low-key and casual, beer drinkers and laughter, I'm all for it. I came here with a friend at the end of the night 12:40 after barhopping, and I wished we'd spent the whole night here. Really chill atmosphere, good music mostly rock and from the 90s. The bar is usually full and they have a nice little outdoor area during the summer. The staff is really friendly especially the managers. Also roast beef au jus sandwich or prime rib sandwich with au jus is amazing!! The crowd at this place is mostly in their late 20s and up.. It seems like a popular place to go to after work. Definitely recommend it. read more

I have never had a bartender treat me like how i was treated by this bar. I came to this bar hoping that the expectation of fun and excitement was fulfilled, but sadly it was not. I overheard plenty of comments coming from Jim, the bartenders mouth about his own personal issues with people that it made sense as to why his service was so cold and rude to us tonight. I do not recommend this bar to ANYBODY. Unless you want your drinks served to you like you're a piece of sh*t. read more

Good pub. I was here on a Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 PM. There were probably 10 regulars there. Only annoying thing was the bartender kept singing along (very loudly) with the jukebox, trying to promote a raucous party atmosphere in the bar, I suppose. Hit The Wild Rover if you are looking for a bar to catch the Sox game in, this is the place. During Sox games they serve $2.50 Harpoon drafts with free peanuts. Considering the size of the bar they have a healthy selection of beers on tap and the staff is generally friendly. read more

Yup. It's a pub. NECN voted The Wild Rover as the "best Irish Bar in New England," so of course we had to check it out,,,, The outside of this place instantly transports you from Manchester, NH across the pond where life is just....different. The inside has natural brick walls, a decent sized bar and a medium sized dining area. We took advantage of the recession-busting prices with the 1/2 priced apps and 1/2 priced drafts (I think there are15 beers on draft, mostly the usual suspects). The wings are pretty decent; good amount of meat on the bone and a hot (but not too hot) sauce. The Wild Rover burger was smothered in caramelized Guinness onions, mushrooms and curry mayo. I added ketchup to the burger, which was probably a mistake because it didn't mix well with the mayo. The fries are the shoestring type - I prefer them a little thicker with a big hearty burger. My wife got the Wild Rover wrap; turkey with avocado, lettuce, and again the curry mayo. The curry mayo gave the wrap a smokey flavor which was different (a little overwhelming) but still good. The onion rings were thick battered and good! 2 beers, app, burger and wrap was $34. Thanks Wild River!! read more

I came here waiting for an early flight. They close at 1:00am. This place has a local feel of a North East coast joint with kind and inclusive customer service which is unusual. I was sitting at the busy bar for no more than a couple minutes before 'Tim' asked me what I wanted. He was patient with my indecisiveness (I'm from So Cal) and gave me a few tasters before I settled on something from this area. The beers and rum selection lack the heavy and boldness of SD in my opinion, but have their own feel and tantalise the taste buds nonetheless. The music selection seemed to depend upon the clientele; all locals, I am assuming. All in all, I would recommend the place, hands down over the competition which resembles a likeness. Parking is a bit of an issue, (throughout the city of Manchester) but there is a lot to the north east which is missing some labelling in the evening which you can park at. Just make sure you aren't parked at a wall. (Local knowledge) read more

I like the atmosphere of this bar- laid back and casual, and you never feel rushed to get out. I've gone with groups a few times over the past few months and while the space can be limited, everyone there has always been in a good mood and accommodating. The food here is classic but tasty- burgers are cooked well and seem fresh. I'd like to come try the brunch one weekend but so far it's a nice place to come and relax at night. read more

Oh our way home from NH, needed a good place to swing in for lunch. Found The Wild Rover on yelp and glad we did. Lunch was really good - burger, onion rings and tried the goat cheese tater tot app. Everything was great - unique items in the menu mixed in with standard pub fare. Great beer selection too. An Irish themed pub that doesn't overwhelm you with how Irish it is, I would say. A nice place to stop for a pint. The food is pretty good, and there are a couple of unique menu offerings that are definitely worth trying. The food and some of the wait staff has potential to be hit and miss though, and that is the only real drawback. read more

You don't go to an Irish pub for food, you go there for ambiance...With that said, the food is great. Typical pub food but done well. The steak tips and rice will fill you up, and the bishop wrap is like a party in your mouth. Good beer selection (although all you really need is Guinness), and The Bar staff is always friendly and helpful. A terrible experience. Chose to go here after a millennium running race to redeem beer tickets & grab food. Got the beer just fine but three tables patiently waited 2 HOURS for cold food. 1 table left having ordered and not gotten food. And not even all of our plates were brought out by the time we left. The place probably lost upwards of $400 within 2 hours. Also it was packed and only two waitresses on with one bartender. An absolute joke. We felt bad for the waitresses as they were crying due to being understaffed and unprepared for the influx of people after the race. This bar was sponsored so you think they'd staff better. Heard the owner Ms. Rebecca was double fisting at the end of the bar like a good owner would do when shit is hitting the fan. I calmly told her why I was disgruntled, she was drunk and completely unprofessional, and proceeded to tell me to leave. Two middle fingers to you my dear. See ya on bar rescue. read more

I don't really go for Irish-themed bars but this one was pretty sweet. A smaller sort of place- but keeps it packed and lively. Outdoor tables and seating keep the area festive. There's no other bar or restaurant nearby but there's enough people to keep this place in action during a Saturday night. read more

I've really enjoyed coming to the Wild Rover, whether it be for a few drinks or for a great meal. I have yet to be disappointed with any lunch or dinner item that I've ordered (I'm in love with their sweet potato fries). The bartenders are great, the wait staff are incredibly accommodating, and the atmosphere is perfect to give you that pub feel. I will say it does get quite loud whenever there is a band playing, but it's a small pub so I guess that's expected. But I love it, I always look forward to going to the Rover. It is my go to place for a beer after a Millennium Run event :) read more

I went to the Wild Rover for dinner. I had the Filet Mignon and it was done perfectly. The waitress, Liz, was excellent! She was very attentive and despite the bartender being a little slow getting drinks out, Liz made sure we had water and everything else we needed. She checked back frequently and created a very fun atmosphere for our dinner. I would highly recommend the Wild Rover! read more

Grabbed a beer here when I was out with my brother for his Birthday we were bar hopping so really didn't pay to much attention, but the beer was good inexpensive and service was good. Not sure when I would ever come back, that's not a bad thing though. read more

They had caprese sandwich special, which I ordered as take out. First order didn't have mozzarella. Brought it back and the second one had shredded mozzarella. I called back and asked if they knew that the chef had used shredded mozzarella. They said yes and admitted that it wasn't an actual caprese sandwich and didn't know why it was a special on the menu. Not to mention that the tomatoes were covered in black pepper. Suffice to say that I won't ever be going back. read more

Top notch place to go. This bar has a great atmosphere, good food, and they know how to pour a beer. I went here twice in the same day. I wanted to try other places, but it called me back for dinner. I had two outstanding meals and even though it is heavy on the Boston Red Sox garb, I as a Yankee fan still felt comfortable and love this place. The place is clean, on point with the food, and the service is top notch. The wings were excellent, Irish potato skins are excellent, outstanding Bison Burger, and the Bangers are banging. The Rover is a great place to stop in & enjoy a cold drink or hang out and have some good food. The staff is really friendly, upbeat & efficient. My husband & I stopped in Friday for a beer & decided to take home dinner. Mike loves the bacon Mac n cheese & I decided on a special, chicken carbonara. I was a little skeptical but it was delicious & so plentiful that I had enough leftover for lunch the next day. A big shout out to Deliliah, our bartender, she was friendly,bubbly and just fun to interact with. Great food and beer. Husband had a Guinness and fish 'n chips. HUGE portion of haddock. Not a bit greasy. I had a Smuttynose Old Brown Dog and half-portion of Shepherd's Pie. I appreciated the portion size. Quite good. If ever in Manchester again, we would come back. read more

Went in for a Saturday lunch with $3 drafts, definite great start. Then the food came. The shepherd's pie that was advertised as lamb unfortunately had no lamb. Had they called it beef pie it would have a higher rating. The bangers and mashed were good but certainly nothing special. The menu had some interesting choices but due to the misleading shepherds pie I would be concerned for what the "railroading's"ingredients might be. read more
